i just wanted a scarf FUCk
So, since Vic the Trader is coming Monday..
Has it been possible in the past to exchange protean items for different protean items?
And I mean like bars for traps, not logs for planks which is possible already.
bartin for president
Daily world 42 autism
These two always trigger me with their shit.
reminder that fucking retard bartin literally runs laps around the ge while waiting to make money off of regular bones. why the fuck do any of you entertain this sperglord degenerate.
>TRIM COMP CAPES
HOW CAN ANYONE BE SO FUCKING KEKED
ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS KEK
Hey guys old player here, wondering if the game is worth picking up still? I'm not exactly sure what I can do since I'm broke and f2p and don't really feel like spending $50 on gold atm debating if i should play old school or new rs since i have pretty decent acc's on both
Play new if you can swallow the combat changes, like quests, or are interested in raids/high level PVM
Play old if youre looking for a nostalgia fix, like PVP, or are interested in a much grindier grind
these are my stats, idk what i should do since i was rolled back for botting
can someone tell me why my comp shits the bed when playing RS, but can run everything else well... come on jagex...
>idk what I should do
you are basically max combat. Just kill shit and train slayer. Do whatever the fuck you want
kek for getting caught botting. I botted a shit ton of my skills and never banned
I just want the bots back, didn't give a fuck about training pleb skills..
bots made everything cheaper.. baka jagex
Anyone in /rsg/ need an Explosive Barrel? Got one out of a hard clue and I am in dire need of cash.
How much should I ask for it? Is 215m a street robbery?
Already tried GE and it won't sell even at 200m. ~215m is the GE recommend.
Would really like to get a "pocket filler" out of it, since I am too low level and lazy to make good money.
Im in this game for the quests & afk slayer
>Low lvl armor all look like actual good pieces of armor you'd wear in battle
>High lvl armor all look like over designed heap of spike and edges
>Only third age and granite are high lvl aren't retarded but use ugly graphics
Why is it always like that? Once you're past the line between white and mithril it just gets more ridiculous.
Im not dissappointed at the price, I'm disappointed that no one seems to want it. Tried selling it at world 2, but in 15 minutes I only got 4 scammers, not even one serious buyer.
Oh the pain. Most armor is so edgy you could rush to mobs and they die of 4th degree lacerations and punctures.
While there's no way to easily transfer single items you can easily transfer your whole inventory to your BoB and vice versa in 2 mouse clicks.
Just fill up your inventory with the things you want to collect and once it's full click your BoB, an interface will pop up, click the thing in the corner.
>doing some zgwd

>oh shit, i better grab my supplies and drops
>don't see anything on the ground
>familiar timer on screen still says 2 minutes
nice game, lost all my shit in my yak zzz
Fucking hell selling this Explosive barrel is pain. But there is the joy of meetin ALL the scammers. Lures, bait & switch, item replacers and many others I have not even imagined before this.
They are absolutely hilarious and boy do some put effort in what they do. I bet they got whole manuscripts for what to say in each possible situation.
Best feeling is the moment you see the scam coming from afar and just pause in the trade screen, sometimes even manage to say something like
>"I'm just gonna pause here and let you think if this is gonna work"
Oh boy this game has not changed one bit.
45min active selling, 14 scammers.
I haven't played Runescape since the EoC beta, but I have very fond memories of the game. I wanna start up again, but this time as an Ironman.
Could anybody share some tips for beginner Ironman mode? F2P preferred.

Invention 101: Podcast
Taking shit and breaking down into invention materials
Parts and Components. Parts are used for small things, Components for less common large more powerful items.
Items you make with materials. Mecha-Chinchompa etc.
can put them on weapons to make them better
Give perks to Augments
Things like the Warpriest set effects are similar to perks. x% bonus to damage against monster, some silly, not all perks are positive, etc.
Before you can make some more complicated items you need to "discover" it first. Inspiration is spent unlocking these items. Found doing everyday tasks and leveling the Invention skill.
Where to start invention?
>North of Fally Lodestone, Inventors guild. Small tutorial there.
How do you train invention?
>NOT by purely disassembling items. That would be like cleaning herbs all the way to 99.
>Big chunks of xp making devices and other items.
>Uses Make X like Smithing, Crafting, etc.
>Making gizmos provides good xp. Each augment as slots for 5 parts/components.
>xp for gizmos is based off of the rarity of materials and how many you use.
>you're shown a list of potential perks that gizmo will possess (based off of the materials used) and when you make it the final ones will be chosen randomly from that list.
Augmented equipment gains levels and the perks increase as you use them in combat (Max level 10). Weapons that are leveled up provide a lot of invention xp if you decide to disassemble them. If you don't want to disassemble them you can build an item that extracts some of the built up Invention xp from them and leaving it in tact.
>Start with the "basic" tech tree
>When you reach a higher level you can choose which tech tree you want to specialize in (Dwarven or Goblin)
>Eventually you'll unlock everything. You just choose what you get first.
That's the main gist.
>can put them on weapons to make them better
Please, no. The thing I like about RS are the simple equipments. There was no need min-max everything.
Fuck, this sounds stupid.
>There was no need min-max everything
Way too late for that.
Few threads ago people were arguing over a 2.2% increase in damage or some shit. The min-maxing started a long time ago
It is pretty obvious this would happen. Even in the video it showed example with like % damage increase versus demons buff. It will be like that for many different types of monsters, or different effects. You will need the best ones to get invited :^)
It may not end up like that. Instead of the current station where you need T90 weapon X, or quest reward Y, or ground minigame reward Z for optimal performance, it could become XYZ OR ABC where A,B,C, are items created with invention. Essentially, it may actually give us more options than we had before.
all i wanted was a spear.
ironman luck doesnt exist
t. someone who was too poor to own dclaws before eoc
>I'm going to taste shit, break off a part of my body, and lose my ability to speak
>that will show him
>done 2500 QBD kills
>still using poorpriest and royal crossbow
how much of a difference to T90s make and how long do they last before needing to be repaired @ QBD?
also is it still worth buying just a MH ascension crossbow if I don't have death lotus darts but do have an OH attuned crystal chakram?
It was accurate and barring absolute misses, dealt 100-50-25-25, 0-100-50-50, 0-0-75-75, or 0-0-0-150. This made it reliable as a special attack because it was almost ensured to do some damage to your opponent. The drawback was that tankier opponents or using any form of damage reduction fucked with the formula to make it significantly less powerful than normal. It was overpowered in most cases but still extremely predictable and barring pk highlights tier luck was not dangerous if you knew it was coming. As the years went on and more forms of damage reduction came out they became nothing more than a minor threat if you weren't an idiot.
Also those listed figures are not the actual hits, before you say "he thinks claws only hit 200 lmao", those are the ratios based on your actual max hit. So if your max hit was 250, that first example would be 250-125-67-67, totaling 200% total damage of your max hit.
>Overpowered in most cases
>In most cases the victim is a mouth breathing retard
There are people who died to claws in 2011, what do you want? No one competent was actually afraid of them. You could literally start jerking off and laughing in their faces as their whole plan fell apart by the time 2011 came around.
What I remember was people in Ahrim's casting Ice Barrage (accurate as hell) while wearing dclaws, then hitting you with double claws spec. The spec doesn't need as much luck as you make it out to for 2 main reasons:
1. You're almost never at full health in the middle of a fight; you'd never get any damage in.
2. You get 2 chances at the special back to back.
A "good", not "rare" or "lucky" first hit with claws would be about 25, which would make the total damage 25 + 12 + 7 + 6 or 50 damage. That's half your maximum life points barring brews (at the time). You get tick to eat as the next attack is coming, so that'd likely be a shark (at the time) for +20 health, then you'd be hit with the second claws spec. Even back to back mediocre hits for something like 20 would do 80 damage in 2 ticks. If you were really sharp you'd get a shark in at switch, so you'd only be down 40hp from where you were, supposing they only get meh hits.
You're assuming they're the one in control of the fight. What are you doing while they ice barrage you? Are you sitting there in your rune with a whip doing nothing? What year is it that are you trying to justify having no reaction to ice spells or claws?
Protect melee still existed. You should not be weak to both magic and melee. Claws did not have guarenteed damage, only enhanced damage, so unless they had no defense you were not likely going to be seeing high quality hits constantly. 80 damage in 2 hits was not the norm on a properly armored opponent, especially with prayer. You also had access to your own barrage spells so you had guaranteed periods of time where they could not use claws. If you aren't doing anything to handle it you already lost the fight whether they had a DDS or claws because they have the control.
And this is assuming it's 2008 or some shit, because every year more content came out that cockblocked claws. Curses, SOL, Soaking, stronger armor, Disruption Shield, Mushrooms, you name it.
>What are you doing while they ice barrage you? Are you sitting there in your rune with a whip doing nothing?
Yes, because it froze you in place and freedom wasn't a thing.
>What year is it that are you trying to justify having no reaction to ice spells or claws?
>Protect melee still existed.
Slaughtered by Ice Barrage hitting you for 30-35.
>You should not be weak to both magic and melee.
>You also had access to your own barrage spells so you had guaranteed periods of time where they could not use claws.
Trying to barrage in melee gear senpai?
>If you aren't doing anything to handle it you already lost the fight whether they had a DDS or claws because they have the control.
So to sum it up, claws weren't a threat because you should have been an identical pker to your opponent using magic and melee, in BIS gear, with high defence and 99hp, got it. It's my mistake, I forgot that everyone maxed in 2008 and had BIS gear.
I need a minute to go back and edit the history books to remove any traces of high strength high magic pures. I didn't realize all the recorded history we had about claws and their effectiveness was so wrong. I'll have to scrub the forums while I'm at it. Thanks for opening my eyes senpai. Could I maybe be your acolyte?
Dragon claws' hit chance was borderline glitched. It did something like roll to hit three separate times, and if even one hit it would do full damage. So even with "good armor" you're getting hit for 50(0) damage like 90% of the time.
>Yes, it froze you in place and freedom wasn't a thing
Then you lost with or without the opponent having claws because you brought no means of handling mages. That is your fault.
Then you're highlighting the shortest possible peak of their power, which happens with every new item.
>Slaughtered by Ice Barrage hitting you for 30-35.
You can change prayers. Either they are close enough to hit back, or they're far enough that you can switch to the relevant style as they approach.
>Trying to barrage in melee gear senpai?
Your fault, which also seems to be a common theme here.
Everything you're complaining about here is about ICE BARRAGE. You cannot move, you take constant high damage, it is such an omnipresent threat that it doesn't matter what else the opponent is doing, any of the crap you're saying about switches applies to anything they could pair up with ice barrage. If claws never happened you would still be dead in that situation because they would use another style that would still be fatal to you being a low level player unprepared for high level pvp.
>you should have been an identical pker to your opponent using magic and melee
If you were weaker than your opponent you are already in danger, the claws had nothing to do with that. They just enhanced the danger. I am not arguing that they weren't strong, but their value alone was laughable and every story about "epic claws" relies on something else.
No it wasn't. That is a misconception on how the attacks being tied together worked.
>Slaughtered by Ice Barrage hitting you for 30-35.
Ice barrage had absolutely 0 ko potential unless you sit there and didn't eat. If you were getting rushed you expected claws, so you prayed melee then ran 5 feet to safety.
>hurr I wasn't by edge
The only place you could justify pking with just melee gear and no range or mage switch was edge, so if you were sitting at MB in rune and a whip you deserve to die
Post your PKing vids, especially the ones where you BTFO people using claws. 2008, 2009 preferred. If any exist outside of big AGS swings that is.
It doesn't matter how skilled you were, if your opponent was equally or even mildly less skilled, had claws, and you didn't, you were going to lose. You could tele if you weren't blocked, otherwise you were going to die.
>RS PKing videos
>reliable evidence of anything
Those are highlight reels for people shit at the game to stroke their epeens. They only show the best situations for themselves and cut out anything that goes wrong. Claws and big hits are flashy so you see them everywhere. Even if someone here posted a montage of d claw fails it wouldn't mean anything because it would also be a highlight reel of what they want to show.
RS PK videos are literally shit.
Because friendzoned virgins cant take a hint that these girls who've never met them arent as obsessed as they are and think they're being cute

also I'm taking loans for a mh assbow, will pay back loan with 10% interest pm me ingame @ Gloved Thief
>not realizing I said I would pay back with interest
Attuned Staff is better than ABS, attuned wand with an attuned ward (if you mean the shield) is more accurate but less damage than ABS due 1h VS 2h. Attuned Wand + Orb would be the same damage as an Attuned Staff.
this was weird, went to summon a new familiar, and it came up with that if i summoned a new one my BoB would drop all its items, i did so and they all fell at my feet, so at least i got my supplies back i guess
If your familiar glitches and stops existing, you can summon a new one with it to get it and its possessions back. If you summon something without storage/less storage it drops at your feet. Enough people complained about losing items to the disappearing familiar glitch that they put that in as a precaution until they eventually figure out what causes it.
more ui fuckery if anyone wants ideas for changing up theirs
Why does Jagex no remove the 5% price change limit on the ge?
It would help new items settle to their worth easier and help old items that have had a monumental crash in price like dragon full helms finally drop low enough that they are alch value.
fucking lol rs3 ladies and gentlecolts, nice fucking community lmao
>tfw bank is getting full
what the heck should I do? I could buy bank boosters, or try and clean it out..... but I can't throw like anything away. I could make one of those pet rooms in my house and save some spaces
I basically have no junk. Just so much minigame stuff, pets from quests and other ridiculous shit. I've destroyed everything I can reclaim already. I'm at like 990/1000 or something
Make a costume room and menagerie for your junk
As for the rest just wait two weeks and dismantle it for invention or just toss it.
I guarantee you it's all mostly junk
Get rid of anything that can go on toolbelt.
You don't need a cleaning cloth, nor an Orb of Oculus, when was the last time you used a Helm of Neitiznot? Do you really need Wolfbane? Do you have an enchanted gem clogging up your bank? Beer glasses? Out. Gloves of Silence? Obsolete. Cocktail Shaker? Why? Baskets, buckets, pots and whatnot. Dueling cap, your collection of greegrees you are never going to use again. Mime, lederhosen, zombie, prince/ss crap. Pendant of Lucien. Safety gloves and Fighting/Fancy boots.
I cleared like 20 or so spaces getting rid of some stuff like ghostly robes, korsai, barrelchest anchor, etc. I just need a pet room now.
I have like 30 enchanted gems or something. They have always been a place holder fora tab. Should just get rid of them and stuff ;-;. Really get rid of greegrees? They were such a pain to make and if they are ever needed again.
I had 10 spaces and now I have like 70 or something kek. Let me think of other shit I threw out. Some herblore habitat seeds, prif music outfits, spottier capes. I put a few things in my house like warpriest, agile. What am I supposed to do with these 2-3 pieces of warpriest that I don't have a full set to store. Just let it take space?
I also have all this random stuff like ankh, scabaras mask, apmeken mask. I'll just post screenshot of my junk tab, senpai.
I still already made more than enough room I guess.
The gnome firelighter, davy kebbit hat, all those shovels, antidragon shields, use your dragon trinkets, are those gold rings or rings of visibilty, or something else? maybe the void knight seals, you can toolbelt the crystal chime, maybe plant those saplings? You can reclaim the invitation from that guy that gave the quest.
Thanks, senpai. I'll do that. They are rings of visibility. Can those be stored anywhere? I didn't know you could do toolbelt the chime.
I still have the elite tasks to do for morytania. I'll check it out
roses are red violets are blue put your stuff in me baroo baroo~
yeah prob. I got like 8 skills or something level 90+ before I went crazy no life for two weeks and just maxed. Before then I was sort of just doing whatever I felt like training here and there
>go do Dream Mentor
>fight the inadequacy
>crank music all the way up
>that fucking music
I actually got most of my coins over a year ago when it first came out. You could do these massive offers for runecoins. Like pay $60 and get 2000 coins or 1000 or something.
You could just go to website and take screenshot of literally nothing send in some support and they would just give you the coins.
It was really easy to abuse. I never did any surveys.

>kill crystal shapeshifters

How many weeks is it going to take for Tears of Guthix and other crap like that to hit Invention? I'm currently not subbed and won't be until another 3 or so quests come out, but when it does come out I don't want to be blocked off of content due to not having a bunch of money to pump into the latest buyable.

Fuck, Marry, Kill.
The Barrows Brothers.
(Akrisae doesn't count because only old things are good)
god the things I'd do to guthan....
fuck verac, marry guthan, kill
sliske and become their new ruler
It's not like that at all. That would be stupid and lazy. If anything, the way Akrisae was added was lazy, but there's nothing wrong with exploring the Brothers' backstory and finding people with connections to them.
It depends on how it's done. People said things like "King Black Dragon? There must be a queen black dragon!" and we got lore, a superboss (at the time), and she technically isn't even a black dragon, just a name coined for something familiar. People also hated her until she got nerfed to hell because it wasn't their fanfic "oh it's a 2 headed black dragon that drops the dragon sword." the QBD release was okay.
People heard KQ and thought "there must be a KK" and we got a mutated hive of freak bugs that have a "king" ruling instead of a queen, so they made some sense, and again better than fanfic shit.
People heard "barrows bros" and have said for years "wheres the barrows sister? GIRL POWER." If they can come up with a hell of a reason for her to exist or she isn't related, like she just happens to be a powerful mage who was female and captured by sliske similar to Akrisae being "adopted" then maybe. If it ends up like a shitty insertion like they have done a few times recently then it's garbage.
It was completely out of the blue though.
I remember actually groaning when I heard they were doing a Queen Black Dragon, but they did pull it off quite well. This is my point.
Yes, it MIGHT end up as lazy storytelling, but the premise itself isn't automatically lazy.
>People heard "barrows bros" and have said for years "wheres the barrows sister? GIRL POWER."
I've been playing for 10 years and have never heard anyone say this.
Then you didn't use the Suggestions forum. It came up a lot when Barrows was still some of the most used content/armor. The reasoning was also always "why not add girls?" and included new overpowered rewards, like all suggestions.
I kinda liked it how it came out of the blue. It was kinda shocking how Sliske tried to take control of you but instead Akrisae sacrificed himself for you and became one of Sliskes minions.
Also, i remember a girl in our class who also played Runescape, and multiple time said that she thinks its dumb that there are no Barrows Sisters, because girls can be as powerful as boys
>Then you didn't use the Suggestions forum
That's fair, I didn't. Like I say though, I'm not worried about the storytelling. I think it'll be pretty cool to find out how she's involved.
I think Runescape actually does pretty well with strong female personalities, but I agree we're not exactly crying out for a barrows sister.
shalom gamers, gamer Gloved Thief here
rate my slayer tab, I've been going with this tab for a few weeks. I sold all my rune shit out of it last night to liquidate it a little bit
>mfw still paying $5 CAD ($3.5 USD) a month original™ rate
>he pays real money for runescape
We're at < 69¢ to the USD.
>he cares about $5 CAD a month
>he wants to waste his time grinding for membership money instead of doing what he wants
I don't play often enough / for enough time to justify using in game money. I really don't need the game to be even more of a grind than it already is.
$5 is dirt; I spend more weekly tipping at my local bar than that.
Fuck off scum.
>I passively make ingame money
So do I, but not 40m/month. Between flasks, vis wax, daily spins, I'd pull in 15m/month, ports isn't supplying any income atm because I'm trying to build something. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head that I could do within the same hour a day or so (I haven't built up misc much).
Fell free to remind me of anything I'm forgetting that adds 0-effort value.
The way I see it though, it's no contest. I have to work for less than 10 minutes at a real job to pay for a months membership, or I have to work for at least 30m - 1hr a day in RS every day to pay for a months membership. That's spending 90x - 180x more time per month just to maintain membership.
I'd rather just eat the trivial charge.
And that's completely sensible. I just enjoy flipping.
"local bar" lol, you have vastly proved the type of person you truly are with that mere comment.
of course an alcoholic has a poor grasp of "value" ... they spend their lives throwing both their money and their health as far from their sights as they can manage.

I'm a forum lorefag
Ok, fair enough I'm not one of THOSE guys. But I really love the story of Runescape, and the detail that gets put in.
You should all read this by the way. It's epic.
It's set in the Second Age, after Zaros has disappeared but before his betrayal.
