Alien allies soon with mods!
I have a question.. Do you guys thing that these beautiful creatures could swallow a 5'9 relatively skinny male whole? I wouldn't struggle so you don't have to account for any resistance when you answer.
Also do we have any information on their reproductive organs? How intelligent are they? Is the snek able to learn human language? Does it have the necessary organs to speak?
But the most important question is: Is she able to dislocate her jaw enough to let me rest in her belly, while she lies naked on the bed carresing her newly enlarged stomach after a long sensual session of sex where I start around her hips and work my way up towards her perky scaly breasts before carefully kissing her and letting her swallow me whole.
Please I need this.
>16 point crit on an enemy with 1 hp
>Codex teleports behind everyone and disables their weapon
Jesus fucking CHRIST
This dude needs to do some serious improving on his game.
I think the codex may be an ethereal possessing a human. Outsiders didn't have psi powers.
what is garth doing this week? what surprises are we in for? Will he be knocking on my door soon?
in case people were wondering and didn't catch the start that mission took place in mid-June, so looks like Archons, the Codex, Shieldbearers and all-alien pods are introduced around then.
pete even cheated with max level Psi soldiers and still fucked up a lot
Wow, that stream was amazing.
>Archon with his abilities
>Codex with her abilities
>Muton close combat
>Lot of snek +mindcontroled one
>Sniper who nothing hit anything
Very well done. I don't want to see playing good and kill anything on sight, i want to see some cool stuff.
I think not, because you do something in that evac-zone.
I'm tired, i don't speak english and i write very fast without checking my spelling.
I think Archons rockets are weak. You can always run away from it, or kill the archon instead, it's more a supression unit what make you run away from your cover, or shoot at him, instead at other units.
I'm gonna play this for the very first time. Which difficulty settings should I choose if I like very rough buttfucking but do not want to be impaled all the way to my skull?
"Vladimir good at shooting, but don't know how operate strange magnet gun. Give me Drugunov, i wills how you"
"Ayy lmao" always works
Both of those options give soldiers random starting stats and random stat gain.
You can end up with silly situations like a soldier with ridiculously high aim but fuck all will.
XCOM was making good progress and making breakthroughs but with heavy losses
Then the council just bailed on them out of the blue and gave the HQ co-ords to the ayys
She'll take up arms for you!
You'd think he would have been somewhat successful if XCOM took the time to bust you out of that pod ADVENT has had you in. They think you are a savior yet you couldn't beat the ayyys the first time? Something doesn't add up.
>more like she'll infiltrate you and bring you down from the inside
It kinda feels like XCOM should have lost a little later than they did, for story purposes. There should have been enough time for The Commander to show his quality, and for XCOM to prove itself as a worthy line of defense. Enough time for EXALT to reveal themselves, as well, if only so you could allude to them in the sequel.
WAIT, I'VE GOT IT
As in, the original Onion artist?
No way. It's just an edit like all the others.
It's implied that some followed the other Nations under the reasoning "Live to fuck up your enemy from the inside"
Snek is great wife material!
Well, more like Anti-Alien control. They want to rule the world, not serve the aliens. They are more then ok with doing heavy gene modding to create super humans. There is evidence that EXALT was particularly fractured and suffered from in fighting though. So I imagine that EXALT split in two, those that wanted to get rid of the aliens by any means and those that believed that joining the aliens for the short term would lead them to the power they desired.
EXALT became XCOM.
XCOM became ADVENT- the earth govs gave up quick so that they could stay in power. The aliens would have wanted a solid power base and a pre-established network of law enforcement & civilian control, so they'd take the weakling governments (and their soldiers) under their wing.
All of a sudden there's no need for EXALT- the earth govs have taken over their role much better than they ever could.
And I'm pretty sure the AYYs wouldn't have a use for a shadowy jewish banking consortium, so if the kikes ever got in their way the ayys would just get rid of them.
Ipso-presto, EXALT is XCOM.
Snek is a princess!
Punished Bradford approves.
He'd also like to know when he will be modded into the game already.
I don't know nigga, let's say they were xenophobes & the remnants of EXALT used what resources they still had to find some of the die-hard XCOM vets that'd gone into the boonies.
They are alternate xcom, same goal of defeating the ayy, but using alternate methods.
They fuck with us to a) steal our tech and resources and b) prevent us from killing the ay as fast so they have more time to reverse engineer shit.
Exalt are slow as fuck and never tech above lasers or genemods.
I think this happen:
Xcom lost end of april, but the first EXALT mission would happen in may.
So Xcom never knew something about EXALT, beside of one single guy you must evac, but thats it.
After the war, EXALT got raided by aliens too, and the EXALT guys scattered around the world.
EXALT was always about to gain power, foremost with alien technology and Xcom make this possible. So the remaining EXALT forces join Xcom to get acess to the alien stuff. And because Xcom don't know who EXALT really is
they don't care about the Bandana.
EXALT fought against the aliens and people saw that. Their Bandana are now a sign of the resistance, and people who wear it never knew what EXALT really was.
I think you're trying too hard to play with phonetics. EXALT are post-humanist supremacists, they're quite literally turning themselves into a genetically altered "Master Race" to exalt themselves as the rulers of humanity.
Compare this to X-COM's goals, which are to counter and/or defeat the alien invasion using any means necessary. X-COM is a formal military organization whereas EXALT are quite clearly a private organization.
Notice that the Council of Nations are very shady in the game. They go out of their way to cover up the existence of X-COM and their activities. There's some real conspiracy theory illuminati shit going on behind the curtain, which leads me to believe that EXALT are some form of conspiracy by the global financial elite, whereas X-COM is a failsafe measure instituted by world governments.
>And because Xcom don't know who EXALT really is they don't care about the Bandana.
They're probably people who were in EXALT and got stomped by the ayys later on and they see XCOM as the next best way to rule the world.
Because lets face it, after XCOM got betrayed by the world governments while trying to save the very same governments would XCOM do anything other than be the ruling leadership after they save the world?
XCOM isn't really secretive anymore with open operations and trying to gain human support.
Or would they really reactive the exact same governments that stabbed them in the back?
I don't think EXALT would come to/join XCOM.
EXALT can get *hit*, but they LIVE in the shadows. They get hit, they just cut losses and retreat and start building again.
XCOM on the other hand was a government organization. If their government pulls the rug out from under them, they get hit, they don't have any fallback positions or backup resources to tap into. They get *hit* and they'll fall down like a stack of bricks.
They both get hit, XCOM would scatter to the wind or be consumed, while EXALT would take the hit and keep on trucking, picking up the pieces of XCOM once they had stable footing again (like an alien transport ship).
>"fuck i overslept and missed the stream"
>"free signed artbook"
HOW ABOUT YOU SHIP ME THE ONE I ALREADY ORDERED, HUH?
FEBRUARY 20?! THAT IS LITERALLY 8 DAYS AFTER THE DAY YOU SAID IT WOULD BE RELEASED
I imagine they went as far as to attack the alien underground base to capture an alien commander and the beacon.
When they ayys saw XCOM was the big deal, they stopped playing around and stormed the base.
The councilmen would take over the world, not Xcom.
But why can Xcom soldiers wear EXALT Bandanas ? I think in the future, there is no EXALT organisation left. Only some people who fight for Xcom as mercenaries.
Xcom wasn't really shattered, they didn't get the staff, except the commander.
EXALT on the other side was the military arm of some rich people, after you beat the EXALT HQ, you didn't even know their instigators.
I think after the aliens hit EXALT, the instigators dropped EXALT and joined ADVENT.
There is no EXALT organization left in the future, they folded into the generic resistance movements. You can recruit soldiers from the resistance. And those resistance troops could be former EXALT. Bam, exalt troops are part of xcom.
The big orange light in this image is not a mistake. It is symbolic. Mark my words: EXALT will be back.
EXALT is not XCOM.
XCOM is not ADVENT.
You guys are reading too much into it.
It's simply a case that some EXALT (which no longer exists) members joined the XCOM resistance to carry on their fight.
Their bandannas are simply there as a reminder/left overs from a previous war.
>The councilmen would take over the world, not Xcom.
There isn't a Council anymore.
The Council's spokeperson from XCOM becomes The Informant, 20 years later during XCOM2. He helps XCOM with all of it's secret operatives, but he doesn't hold any real power anymore.
It's more likely that a rich EXALT instigator (benefactor) wouldn't drop the program entirely, or would come back to the program, than anyone in XCOM could wizard enough money out of their anus to keep existing (even after being ousted & turned on by those who knew EVERYTHING about them).
I see no way for XCOM to have survived TOTAL ANNIHILATION except in scattered little pockets subsisting off the grid.
EXALT would have survived so long as they had a rich benefactor. And not even XCOM learned who that was in the last game.
lighterfluid tier warm alcohol, depression, survivors syndrome, anger, and a bit of an obsession over the commander
He was also a jackass to people during his time out there alone
Yeah not anymore, but we don't know his new name... maybe resistancemen ?
Xcom was about idealism, EXALT only about money and power. You cannot kill idealism, but if you don't give merc no money, they will leave.
EXALT instigators saw a new way to keep their power: Join ADVENT. For them, not much changed, only the mercs had problems and scattered.
Xcom on the other side had good personal too so they get the Avenger and try to build up a resistance, because they want free the humankind.
Not to piss on the originals, but that interface looks less than intuitive.
I like this idea.
You won't get one - Bradford literally shows up in the prologue and the epilogue only. He has maybe two pages during which he's being a drunk layabout.
1994 had a decidedly terrible UI. But you get the hang of it pretty quickly and you end up using the keyboard shortcuts anyway (i.e. Play OpenXCom)
>le epik exalt is advent theory
Spoilers: Advent are genetically engineered human/sectoid hybrids grown in a lab and fitted with armor so that nobody can tell they've got big bug-eyes under their helmets.
You need to remember anon that the UI has evolved as the games you've played have. It seems shitty at first, but think of it as a worthy education in old skool gaming.
So download UFO/OpenXcom and have fun already, /xcg/ will be here to help/insult you (as appropriate) as you go.
I'm highly skeptical- I doubt the council would have been more secretive than the jewish illuminati. And the AYYs were mind-controlling them in the game-over screen.
If any of them knew anything about anyone else, they would have been found out and their brains picked.
Wouldn't be surprised. But then EXALT would be deader'n'doornails too, since bald-man got MC'd
Remember how EXALT liked to kill themselves instead of being captured?
There was more there than just money & power.
And besides, I don't think EXALT would be completely hounded down. Meanwhile their members were probably all rich fucks, so the mercs would still get money. They'd probably shrink in size, but they'd have enough resources to keep on doing things.
If EXALT personnel weren't good enough they could just hire the veteran XCOM members they tracked down. Shit those guys would probably work for free, double-bonus.
Bradford's always been white you dumb fuck.
Never in my fucking life has a specialist carried as hard on a bullshit mission as Thunderovich Thunderovski just did, thank you to the guy who suggested that name. Would've been three more casualties if the guy wasn't fucking unstoppable
the Codex design is honestly bizarre. it looks like a hastily reused test model or something, with the black head going down to yellow body. like something that would have been cut in the alpha and then discovered by modders digging through the files later. it doesn't help that the darkness SFX they use on the hair bugs out like it does on the psi zombies, turning into ugly black squares
Maybe, but i think we will never know, it's all headcannon now. I think they get rid of EXALT, because it wouldn't fit in their now story, where the aliens rule all.
I'm wondering how Van Doorn got his hair back.
Maybe ADVENT gene-therapy ?
He looks Hispanic to me.
Aliens use the outsiders to hack and go into humans computers. They found such big amount of porn that got forced to change into naked woman.
I personally like that they expanded the idea of hacking in X-com 2.
Those small things man.
20 years of hiding in the shadows getting drunk and nursing a grudge over losing the last war due to getting betrayed by the politicians and having aliens take over the Earth changes a man.
Are you telling me no one in the Xcom general played Fire Emblem 13 ?
So I started my first ever playthrough on Classic Ironman.
>lose a soldier on that tutorial mission when I got a rocket launcher
>alright, I get it now, take cover or die
>during my first real mission, while recovering meld, two of my guys get obliterekt
>one of them had that first armor I bought for him
>should've bought 3 more, dumb fucknugget
>somehow make it through that mission
>wounded guy is gone for 2 weeks
>hmm why do I get so much money for my satellite in the USA? whatever, I take it
>"Sir, we got no defense set up for that satellite, so it'll be fucked up by aliens eazy peazy."
Mmh, yes. Just the right amount of pepper for my tastes.
/xcg/ will survive any hardship. Throughout snekposting, salty bagels and complete news drought we have maintained a fairly decent quality of posts. I have more faith in this general than any other one, we're just too fucking stubborn to die.
Shen died of old age and stress from getting that behemoth of a ship the Avenger running
Vahlen is MIA at the moment presumed alive and in hiding after the volcano lair was attacked and her and a bunch of her crew escaped on either a sub or a ship
If I've beaten ew on normal should I play classic before trying long war? If not what difficulty for long war?
There's like 3 of them: xcom 2 will suck dude, long war bait poster and the /pol/ shitposter who really hates it if Valkyria Chronicles is mentioned
So in the event of an ayy invasion, how is /xcg/ going to link up to remove xenos?
>continent bonuses are randomized
Anyone seen any?
God damn I keep forgetting to quote because I am sleep deprived as all fuck
can remember two off the top of my head
>Weapon attachments and PCS's can be reused
>Rookies cost $10
There's been more revealed in random streams and videos I can't remember, they said there's more bonuses than continents now so you get different ones each game.
I just started XCOM after getting it from the winter sale and just ran into the Starship Trooper bugs that kill in one hit and zombifiy your team. How much more fucked do these aliens get?
MECs with berets are 1000% cooler than other MECs, fite me 6v6 secoids on multiplayer you coward
You the guy who dropped the name? Top engineer that fucking guy, think I went tandem with him and he went on to kill virtually every alien who ever lived
>not noticing there is a sectoid on the screenshot meaning i obviously play lw
>not having to installations on two different harddrives
>backing away from my challenge like an advent cuck
Hey guys, check out this rookie
We should do this and stream it for /xcg/ anon, for real. Decide once and for all whether or not berets are cool.
I can't do it right now cause late as all hell here and as I said I'm sleep deprived to shit but if you'll add me on steam I'm 100% down tomorrow-ish
Four mutons, how is that not obvious?
I estimate it to be about 1 million dollars, seeing as buying an aircraft is a little cheaper than what it would take to make an F-35 in real life which I think is about accurate for the rest of the world wanting to live.
They're actually random hobos/people who got lost on their way to the market. What you're paying is the cost of brainwashing and bribing the family and autorities to stop looking for them.
Dope, I'll write you tomorrow my man
>Gauss gun is good, yes, but consider, Komandir:
>What if you put artifact in it?
1mil makes a bit of sense for the equipment but then you recruit troopers at 15 credits
so 15 million for a trooper is still a HUGE stretch even if they were special forces soldiers , even with all of their training.
I think Brad in Gen Kill says each Force Recon is worth about $1mil in training, and thats dive school, mountain warfare school, ranger school on top of just boot and courses you take for your MOS.
I don't think a rookie can stack up to a FR Marine, and they aren't even the best I would imagine SFOD or SEALs push around five mil, but then again rookies do come with their own gear so maybe thats figured into the expense as well on top of supplies needed like food and board.
>XCOM mission going to hell with ADVENT closing in on all sides
>Rocket zooms in and blows half of the soldiers away
>EXALT pod comes out
>They're using EW classes
It's always possible that the credits are actually just an abstraction representing the desire for for other organizations to carry your shit for you, so finding 10 top-notch ayy-hunting recruits who have top-level security clearance and all this shit is almost as obnoxious as sending you a Gen 5 fighter.
>The Outsiders could have had a legit backstory that explains their presence in EU/EW
>All we got were generic Mass Effect ayys
What you've got to remember is that rookies are far more competent than they seem during gameplay. Turnbased format means we see them peeking out of cover and having time to take aim before squeezing the trigger, whereas in reality they're probably poking their heads up and barely getting a few shots off before desperately ducking back in cover to avoid the ionized jets of plasma whizzing around all over the damn place, as a real soldier would if faced with that kind of firepower. I've zero doubrs they're humanity's finest even at rookie, before they get used to killing ayys for a living
Tuesday morning (1 PM EST or so) he does Open XCOM
Thursday night XCOM is on hold until 2 releases because he's completely burnt out on LW, he either doesn't stream or just plays random games he's playing at the time
>In XCOM insurance is paid to the families when they enlist. Plus the troopers don't get paid.
I always imagined that troopers got paid by the countries they were originally recruited from and that most expenses were paid by the 16 Council countries, not counting expenses like Interceptors, satellites and other stuff.
The hard part of finding troopers for XCOM is probably finding people who won't blab or abandon the project, moreso than finding people who are skilled. After all, if you were given a laser rifle worth possibly billions of dollars for the tech if spread to the right people would you just use it like a regular gun and not think about it?
>Call black market buyer and tell him youre going on a mission in mumbai in five hours
>Sell classified info and extraterrestrial tech for mad bank
>anyone try to stop you use extraterrestrial weapons tech on them
Because you never know what people could do with it. I personally want an X-Com clone where the country that owns your project occasionally tries to take advantage of your tech to do political bullshit like assassinations and outright invasions of other countries, since an alien invasion is a pretty good time to restructure.
They should be giving over advanced weapons designs so we can mass produce them to fight the ayyys with armies instead of stupid small strike squads.
Bagle stream coming online soon, probably not Xcom though.
You really trust the ruskies with plasma tech?
Or brazilians with psychic shit?
They really should have done this, but instead just change the ticker to something else. Instead of the indonesian army fighting ayys with those laser weapons you gave them, they used them to wipe out some mudslime village, or perform a coup.
Why would you do that, just come on the internet and lie?
>You really trust the ruskies with plasma tech?
I trust them over any ayy lmaos. We are all in this together. If we dont unite, it will just make the buttfucking that much easier for them.
I guess I never really realized just how much of Beagle's viewerbase were cancerous redditfags until I saw how many people were actually in FAVOR of the the fucking subscription/donation popups. It looks like shit is going to be staying for good on the thursday night streams. I blame Hamball. I guarantee it's all her.
Why? Who cares if some country decides to invade another with advanced guns and armor? That same country would have the capability to fight aliens toe to toe. Besides which do they really need plasma weapons to invade when they have nuclear weapons?
Plenty of fields were the USSR was leading or on par with the west.
>Only their nukes and manpower kept them relevant for so long.
They had some of the most advanced military hardware. Not quite as good as the US overall, but still leagues beyond the rest of the world. Even in the modern day they produce the most advanced missile systems on the planet making the US hardware look like a joke. Their economy, while not on par with the US, was pretty good and they had some of the best manufacturing technology on the planet. Overall I wouldn't put them above the US, but they were not at all far behind.
Oh yeah, totally forgot about their crazy intelligence work. Some of the things they stole were incredible considering it was pre-internet. Now days most intelligence agents sit on their ass behind a computer.
I think I read somewhere that they are more active now then they were during the Cold War. Not to mention the chinks, who can get downright comical in their efforts. Plans for F-35? The Chinese got them over the Internet, literaly.
>Crew of the Skadovsk hired on the Avenger
>Owl is intel expert
>Can turn in ADVENT datapads to him
>Everytime you go to his spot in the ant farm
>"What are you, a statue?"
>"If you've got something, speel deh beenz, if not, take a hike!"
>They only put up with him because of how much of an intel god he is
to any who missed the stream, the only new things that may not have been realized before were
>Fuckton of health
>Goes into the air and launches mortars which take one turn to land, giving you time to get your guys out of dodge
>When it takes damage, it goes insane and gets 3 moves per turn and resorts to melee attacks
>Can teleport at will
>Disables weapons and deals delayed damage in a large AOE
>When taking non-lethal damage, splits into 2 completely functional clones
>Exploding the roof under them instantly kills them
That last one is really useful to know. Codexes sound fucking annoying.
When was the artbook giveaway on the stream? Or was that done in chat?
>"Jagged Alliance has a better UI than X-COM"
>hardcoded keybindings that make no fucking sense whatsoever
Go back and play it again, anon.
I only played JA2 though so I'm assuming JA1 was just as bad.
Scratch that, I watched the vod again and it split itself from 6 health to 2 codexes at 3 health.
Also, a pre-release of the character creator was de-confirmed in chat.
I don't like shemagh pattern armor, I think it looks silly as fuck I hope someone mods it so you can choose the color of headgear and legs separate from your standard armor, that way you can actually have a proper looking shemagh on top of armor or camo pants alongside non-camo shirt
Are operator beards a customization option in XCOM 2?
As much as I love Bauer, my autism senses started to tingle with some of Beagle's choices for the EXALT look >No gloves >Tats on both arms >Armor pattern >Not using a sleeve tattoo >Not using a combed back hair option
Overall I still like it, makes him looks like an actual character instead of an RNG goon
>there's a faceless inside of you
>there's a skeleton inside the faceless inside of you
>We recommend you start on a lower difficulty
Get outta here with this shit Garth
I know, but I feel like people are cheating themselves if they don't play on higher difficulties. It kinda feels like playing STALKER on anything but Master. I've started to try and play games on the highest difficulties in order not cheat myself
It's hard to express that idea without sounding like an elitist snob, but shit man, it just feels like you're getting less on of an experience
Different strokes for different folks, I guess
Well, he also said he strongly encouraged people to start bumping it up once they got comfortable with it. I'm going to start on Commander, but someone new or bad probably should start lower, just so they don't beat thier head against a wall.
>Garth keeps getting dragged into hour long conversations about not-xcom-2
>All of this not-xcom-2 in general
>that qt unit whose death still haunts you to this day
Who was she
Someone definitely needs to make armor from Starship Troopers for XCOM.
If there's nothing else, they could at least take the source models from this gmod pack
Oh no don't get me wrong I'm not saying it was great, hell i'd love for some kind of re release with a UI overhaul.
To be fair though Good UI design wasn't exactly comon at the time
>Additionally, all pre-orders and pre-purchases of XCOM 2 or XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition will receive the Resistance Warrior Pack, which offers additional soldier customization options like bonus outfits, headgear and custom facial war paint. The Resistance War Pack also includes a “Survivor of the Old War,” a new XCOM recruit who will appear in the Avenger’s barracks.
>yfw it's Delta 2
Fuck I would want Woodland Camo in xcom so fucking bad.
Anyone taken a look at the specialist breakdown vid?
Once again, medic abilities get shafted badly in favor of damage and this time overwatch removal.
Why would anyone take Medical, Revival protocol or restoration when their alternatives remove overwatch and utterly fucks up mechnical units? And if you don't have those, then the synergy with Field medic is gone. Guardian should also be like rapid reaction since you are highly unlikely to hit more than twice anyway
>you'll never be a 90's era operator burning down cocaine villages in rural columbia
>you'll never blow up remote airfields after killing dozens of narcos as part of the US War on Drugs.
>Tfw he's armed with an old, beat-up X9 rifle
Have more Grenada.
Hype for airdrops in XCOM 2
What are you talking about? She didn't die. She stayed behind to mop up the aliens while the rest of the squad went for pizza.
She didn't make it to the rendezvous location though, she must've found more aliens and gotten sidetracked.
I hope she finds her way back to the base soon, I miss her.
Medics were barely functional without dank smoke or Psi-god abilities in LW and vanilla game is all about offense.
If you are in a situation where you NEED to heal and everybody in 1 turn, you probably have FUBARed it. Vs you having an AOE Bomb that removes AOE in a large area AND fucks up mechanical units.
I wish for a wave deployment mod.
>Main squad (1st wave) is full of rookies and squaddies
>2nd wave are okay soldiers
>3rd wave is the colonel operator wave
>Superior officers are able to call in available waves
>>"I'll totally play a Fire Emblem mod for XCOM 2"
>Vs you having an AOE Bomb that removes AOE in a large area AND fucks up mechanical units.
Maybe if you're savescumming every mistake or crit you won't need it but otherwise you are going to end up in a losing predicament at some point, healing everyone is an amazing table turner
The alternative is basically a win more button
