Running backwards is easy to get stuck somewhere and rocketjumping away will make it impossible to kill him too, since it's easy to reflect and having even faster to reload before dealing any damage

I'll never understand why players who don't care about the objective still care about not losing. If all you care about is dming, losing has no impact on your ability to dm. The map restarts and you get back to it.

Because after I bought the Zoomin Broom I unbound all of the rest of my taunt by name taunts. One broom to rule them all, and in the darkness taunt them.
Fastest moving taunt, moves at 200 hmus (heavy walks at ~230 iirc), next closes is the single class boxtrot, followed by conga and Kazotsky at 50 hmu.

I havent seen a combat medic in what seems like months. I used to see them all the time.
With all the new shit out it just really isn't a viable strategy, even less so than it used to be.
That and most medics tend to roll with the Crossbow these days, because once you get good with it it's really fucking nice to heal your teammates from across the map/kill some asshole who thought he could take you one because you were a medic.

Remove all of the crit combo shit and make the guns more rewarding that actually take skill like the shotgun. Bascially buff the shotgun and make it his main weapon.
Make the flamethrower a short burst of damage on short range and then a cooldown so people can't just w+m1 but have to time it properly. Like a thing that you can use to ambush people with and then it has to regenerate.
what's your point? that pyro mechanics are not intuitive? pretty much all of the classes have mechanics that are not obvious.

Not a great idea but to play devil's advocate here the pyro has next to nil weapons that meaningfully change the playstyle of the class unlike every single other one.

Slow effects don't belong in a shooter, especially something spammable. explosives, and pushback from weapons are as far as you can go when it comes to the enemy affecting your movement, and even that can be obnoxious.
At least with those things, the enemy has to hit a good shot on you, and you can recover very easily.
Pyro is fine the way he is and the way he's intended to be played. It's built as a retard class for newcomers to the game. It's the first class I picked up when I was a 10 hour retard and it was fun as hell because I could actually get kills with it. He's easy to aim with, has low depth, and lets you learn other aspects of the game, like map awareness and the capabilities of the other classes. However, as I got better at the game, you understand that there's a distinct difference in what is "rewarding" as you progressively improve your aim and start to control more aspects of the game. For most people interested in an FPS game, they might realize the flamethrower has very low depth to it, as it's easy to aim and you can't even use it unless you're very close range. It does exactly what it intended, it's the noob class. Every class based class needs it for new players to be a part of the experience.

Fumigator that makes you DoT heavy and able to do area denial, ideal for a more support based style of play.
It only last four seconds and I do not imagine would do hellish damage, plus the pyro has to get close to keep it there.

This is like saying the demoman should not get stickies because they "Could be placed at a chokepoint or capture point" They last a lot longer and do a hell of a lot more damage than that weapon. Hell the pyro could use a weapon better suited to defence.

They are all nigh unfixable without a complete overhaul because the ideas behind them are bad.
If every class in this game had some sort of way to hold a choke very consistently, this game would be fucking terrible. Also, stickies need reloading, can be defused, and straight up jumped over. A big ass cloud can not be, save for the jumped over part for soldiers, and never has to reload because flamethrowers don't do that.
hitting a person covered in smoke will detonate it and make them fly into the air, the more smoke thats on them the higher they fly, players get launched in the direction they were moving and can air strafe
hitting enemies with the smoke status will make them explosively ignite and light people around them on fire, smoke will do 1 damage per tick and can be removed with airblast jarate and all that, it also stays on people so you can tag them multiple times to explode them a bunch
Stickies can also be hidden in blind spots that you'll never see them in until it's too late, you cannot do that with a cloud of green gas.
Think of it this way, they are both area denial but work in different ways.
The stickies can do huge amounts of damage but are harder to see giving them less of a visual deterrant quality.
The fumigator would be a mostly psychological weapon because any half decent soldier/demo/heavy would be able to walk straight through the gas, tank the DoT and kill the pyro. Weaker classes or low health players would be put off by the idea of taking the damage but in reality it wouldn't straight up kill many people.

Christ all you have to do is up the DoT a bit and lower the direct damage a bit and presto a defensive weapon. It's not hard m8, hell I'd even take it if it had no direct damage at all and instead applied stacks of poisoning to a target that increased the damage of each tick.

There is no way to make that weapon fun to play against. Sorry. It's not a balancing issue, it's simply that the idea is shitty. If you die to a cloud of gas someone left 4 seconds ago, then that's a real shit way to die. but if it's such negligible damage, that it doesn't kill you, then there's no point and only serves to annoy. You might say "oh but what if you make it so it puts you at low health". Same as dying to it, just absolutely not fun to play against, supports a braindead playstyle. At least a demo has to detonate his stickies, has to be aware of his surroundings. The amount of times I've just walked over a trap in a pub and thought "he's not gonna det" is in the thousands, and I've probably died to a trap maybe 10 times in pubs.

Scouts can also deal 100+ damage with meatshots before you can even det stickies and can also, you know, run out of the way of your projectiles.

That's true, but how unbelievably broke it is is only increased when against a heavy due to how it fucks him harder than any other class and he's the easiest to hit with it.
It also COMPLETELY switches up the match-up between the two classes. A sandman-less scout can only get close to a heavy if the heavy doesn't notice him, or the heavy will shred him with hitscan and he won't have a chance. The sandman completely removes this risk and actually turns scout into a hard counter for the heavy. It's broken but there is no class matchup it's more broken than vs heavies.

The closest thing is the Fists of Steel for getting past sniper sightlines and even then the sniper is in zero danger and can still take a large chunk of your health.
