You need more numbers in your filename to imitate 4chan numbers, dipshit.
Anything I could improve?
>Do I fit in yet?
That's funny because it's exactly what the person I was responded to was doing. And considering they are attaching an identity to their posts, they think it actually matters. While my posts only have their words. I don't care if I fit it because you don't know who I am.
you cocky bastard
wow you're so cool and mysterious, anon
>you have to avatarfag or namefag to be trying to fit in
No, you're trying hard and it's pathetic all the same. Nobody gives a shit about filenames, and calling out someone for "faking" 4chan filenames reeks of desperation. Kill yourself, faggot.
Haven't fully decided yet but I think either 1h groundslam or dualsrike. I want to try a non flavour skill I haven't used before. I dunno what else to get, grabbing unyielding adds a good amount of armour, is there something better I should grab? isnt the Crit reduction pretty good?
look, i dont want people posting anime traps either but responding to them in that manner only affirms what they are doing. they like any attention, even negative. just report the post and move on.
The life regen and armor of combat stamina is better than the crit reduction honestly. Not to mention I would definitely rather grab the 5% life nodes by bloodless, or even the 4% one by juggernaut before I went for unyielding.
Honestly the build probably won't have enough damage to break tier 10 but it'll be functional otherwise.
I love having a reason to post this.
Just saw the listmof corrupted unique jewels. Oh man all this vaal gem love. Any good build use them properly? Kind of want the increase duration for vaal haste/ discipline. What else?
God I love the vaal orbs so much.
lol can u imagine Sting singing genie in a bottle?
Voltaxic Poison Barrage
HoT + AA + PoL
2x Volley Fire, 1x Static Electricity
Blood Rage to build Frenzy, Snakebite to poison
179% life + 4 endurance charges with warlords curse on hit HoT
What should I change? Vaal Pact necessary at all?
For my tornado shot build, which one should I buy?
purity of lightning
crit is too much point and gear investment with too little payoff on a 6% base, I would understand if this was a windripper but it isn't
ele nodes because 99% of my damage is lightning thats then converted to chaos
Maybe actually read the post before you reply?
WHY would you use PoL when you aren't actually doing lightning damage, idiot?
You also don't have enough damage to get past tier 4 maps without crit on voltaxic.
because I can't cap lightning resist without gg rares without it, it's not for reflect defense. It's also just generally pretty useful with bonus max res
my barrage has 9k tooltip at 72, multiplied by 8 projectiles + fork from riggy quiver. at the moment, coasting through t8 maps and unique bosses die before they can even get close, so damage is really fine
>coasting through t8 maps at 72
lmao you're so full of shit buddy just fuck off. it does not work like that
>9k tooltip killing t8 bosses
so you don't even play the game? at least get your lies straight
Everybody who uses voltaxic is using crit.
Using a purity for unecesary res is reserving mana that could be used for something, you know, useful?
Fuck dude quit acting like you know what you're talking about. This is really basic stuff and shouldn't need to be explained to you.
but why crit?
even with 600% increase in chance you're still at fucking 36%, it's hilariously bad in my opinion for the investment necessary.
I'm on laptop at the moment, but I can open my desktop and show you if you drop your IGN, I'm EU
Oh you're softcore? Then nobody cares about your 130% life build with 200 deaths on a single character. You're just another follower on twitch, another random forum poster thinking his build guide will make his youtube big.
did you just respond non ironically to a shitty pasta
for fucks sake man. you have no room to call anything fotm, you are literally playing a poison build with voltaxic, double fotm, retard
Still online by the way
Anyway, I just wanted some criticism on my build, but all I've gotten is "crit" and "you're lying"
I've asked how crit is better, but it's just "lmao it just is if you have 1000% increased chance"
Why would I lie? What do I possibly gain from it?
>how is crit better
Are you still this obvlivious and retarded? It was stated that all of this should be obvious.
You get more damage.
Is that difficult to figure out for yourself?
No, what I was asking is how is crit better of a point investment than increased lightning/elemental damage or flat lightning damage to attacks on a barrage build unless you have 1000% increased chance which also requires huge gear investment.
That's what I genuinely want to know.
Is 10 days enough time to get a character to maps in hardcore?
Because crits are multiplicative. That % damage is additive.
You will need that extra damage come t10+. If you build your tree right you have just enough points to pull it off.
you can get to maps in 1 day if you're great at the game and you rush it. If you're a decent player and take it at your own pace it shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 days. If it takes you a week to reach maps you're either bad or playing less than one hour per day
After that last post I could tell that you aren't completely retarded, just inexperienced with this game's specific mechanics.
Good on you to clarify your questions though, because once you get through opposition in this community, there's nothing but flowing information.
Remember to focus on not dying.
6% base gives you ~50% chance to crit with full gear and charges, ~40% with mediocre gear.
200% multi and 50% crit doubles the damage you output.
200% multi is very, very low. 400+ is more common. You do the math.
Then why is absolutely everybody who's rolling chaos damage going crit? Apart from ED/Cont that is.
Voltaxic, chaos firestorms, chaos flameblast, I've only seen crit versions.
Because non crit is shit. People don't even roll non crit swt anymore. Flame totem and skills that can't crit are the only non crit builds anymore, even after GGG tried to nerf crit like twelve times.
Crit multi is as important as chance. More important for most builds but for voltaxic you need that chance as much.
You wanna go with the crit nodes to travel across that shadow area, not elemental. You'll want king of the hill, the wheel down by arrow dancing (bottom right), and heartseeker above that. If you can work it out, maybe even the wheel left of vaal pact.
Oh and if anything, you want +chaos damage, not +lightning / elemental. Because of how damage is calculated, the chaos will give you a full increase on all already calculated damage but the elemental is at an earlier place in the algorithm, before conversion.
So a tree something like this?
Revised, less shitty pathing
I probably fucked up somewhere but I'm distracted.
It needs frenzy charges to be honest and since you're softcore you could probably drop a jewel or two for them or just add them as you push above 90.
>real money only auction house
>fixed price player to player only trade
>self found character creation option in each league
Would fix every problem with PoE's trade. It would give developers the money to fix all the other problems the game has and the ability to plan the future of the game with economic stability. It would give you money. It would give purists a superior trade system that's based on the value of real money and a way to play self found. It would obliterate third party RMT by causing all items to have a fixed currency price required to trade player to player or be forced to sell through the RMAH which would give GGG a cut.
My system is perfect. My logic is flawless. The only people who disagree with me are shills who work for another RMT site or clueless plebs who haven't been around long enough to stand all the ramifications of their decisions.
Yes that's what I meant, I appreciate the clarification. I was typing under the assumption that most reading would relate it directly to the topic at hand. Static electricity is your best jewel option easily. You want two or maybe even three of them.
Oh yeah, that makes >>128572327 a little bit off. you want to path up through the dex above vaal pact instead of on the right above acro, because the jewel socket to the left of VP is one of, if not the best, socket for static electricity.
Yeah, it really bumped up the viability of ele based attack builds, having easy leech on the tree.
Static electricity is one of your main sources of damage on an elemental bow build, any elemental attack build really.
Is Heart of Oak really that much better than Primal Spirit for a Ranger?
It's 3 nodes for basically 8% increased health.
Primal Spirit has +20 strength and intelligence and increased flask charge rate.
Sort of new guy here.
Speaking of Jewels, what's actually good to do with all the unused ones?
- Try to vaal the rare ones?
- Try to vaal the blue ones?
- Scourge them and chance/vaal them?
I'm assuming here that chaosing/transmuting them is a waste of ressource.
Static electricity actually increases your damage more than a herald on an elemental crit build.
The more you know.
Lots of people pick up both now because of the flask generation, but use the movement speed to path through instead of the mana.
flat lightining damage is augmented by several things in voltaxic builds
3 correctly setup ss jewels can pretty much double your base damage, from which all others calculations are made off
Speaking of Jewels, is this good enough for SRS or not?
I have 3 jewel slot atm, and could reach out for 3 more. I also got 3 of these ufckers in my stash. Seems like I would want only the +% damage part, and it would reduce my vaal skelly duration (not a big problem, unless I use multiple of them).
fragility, pacifism, and powerlessness are there to create more risk to vaaling jewels.
i more worried about
>30% increased spell damage
>not even more
>DOUBLE MANA COST
>forfeit a socket too
>Join public dried lake
>Screen is baked in fire/lightning & cold effects
>Can only see mobs because I have hp bar ON
>Everyone runs everywhere instead of doing a nice circle around the map then doing the middle
okay I usually never join public parties but god damn is it always like this? Its so unorganised and messy. I dont't remember public games like this back in D2. At least I could see what I was doing, even if there was a necro in baalruns.
I would play hc if the game was optimized and the server wouldnt shit themselves from time to time.
But honestly, scenario like this is why I dont play HC:
>play with friend, having fun etc.
>we talk about playing the hc league instead. Sure, lets team up and do it.
>Play together (quest, etc.) he dies in late cruel.
>noproblemo. He reroll, I start a new one aswell. He dies at lv50 to osme random mob with nemesis mods.
>ok... he reroll, I reroll a third char to play with him.
>... Dies from some server shit in NORMAL act3. I got kicked back to main screen but he just died while entering the area
>At this point he's pissed off and just log off, doesnt want to play PoE.
And that's after playing like 1 year of sc league together. Lost my PoE budy to hc, now he doesnt want to paly the game at all. Of course I can play by myself but fuck this sucks.
>thing is, if you want less max charges, you can just not get more charges
arent we all by default at 0/3 and so, only with 3x -1 charge can we truly be at 0/0 and so, at max charge all the time?
Well you know, he's my roomate, and we been playing games together for like... 15 years now?
Basically now he's hyping himself for the D3 ladder starting this weekend. I might aswell just go play that since it's going to be the only conversations for the next weeks to come. My roomies are all casuals, but fun and nothing beats a friday bear&games all nighter.
>find meginord's girdle
>say fuck it and buy facebreakers on a whim cause I've never played a FB build
>slot in my skills and level a char
>at act 3 check the tooltip
>3500 DPS and 900 life
Jesus Christ, I now regret not playing this before the nerfs
Okay, specced crit on my Voltaxic Barrage build, thanks to the guys who actually did genuine feedback.
Using Ass Mark on HoT instead of Warlords, using Enduring Cry to get those end charges instead.
I don't have much leverage on gear since I need to cap resists, but I can propably change my Devoto's Devotion to a Rat's Nest when I get the currency needed, broke after buying Voltaxic.
there should be a PoE bank
some npcs that lets you borrow say, 30 chaos, and lets you pay in installments
and when you miss a deadline they show up in your hideout and take away some random item you are wearing as collateral
>Die in HC
>I'm still alive in real life
fucking pussy shit casual game
worst general on /vg/
so glad 2016 is the year this shit game finally dies
Anon i'm sorry but you're making a fool of yourself
I just quite playing until Ascendancy releases. It's just 2 months away right?
>caring about any of this shit
Well in D2 you could play with self found gear
According to PoE's developer the PoE is designed around trading
>don't remove mirrors so that people who have made godly items can sell the dupes in RMT sites
Of course, theres no other way to justify the absurd amounts of RNG the game has.
Thats the first or second buzzword markters spout right next to conspiracy theory
i didnt believe it
but then the tone deaf modding on both the forums and the subreddit on certain topics discussing how certain rmt sites managed to obtain seemingly unlimited amount of t1 drops with the exact same implicit and uber gear on a league where no one did kill uber (that people knew) made me think twice about it
ggg mods their own forum, and their subreddit btw
This has to be one of the stupidest works of fiction on the planet. How much trade is made through RMT total, it must be nothing comparatively to mtx and added value services added by GGG. I mean GGG have sold 4 million stash tabs so far; the level of trade occurring is incomparable. Not to mention if it was discovered it would irreversibly damage our brand and then any cost to our reputation would outweigh any short term gains.
yeah that was all being discussed as possibilities
but the threads got deleted for "advertising rmt"
but reactionary, tone deaf modding even on the site that is not (or shouldnt be) under the official forum rules makes one just stop trusting ggg
>not believeing people can and will do things that undermine their own credibility and trust for money
u m8 w0t?
ROLL FOR YOUR WAIFUS. GET EM RIGHT HERE. WE'LL TAKE THEM INTO BATTLE AND COMPARE
i rip on purpose when im bored and/or dont like my build
I'm working on killing Atziri atm. It's not as easy as I thought. I did make it to her but the guardians got me sweating pretty good. I didnt check a walk through before so I got surprised.
Not killing atziri is something I get, requires setup and or some broken ass build that can just power through on its ability to insta kill everything.
But not getting to t10 maps is a hell of a thing senpai.
I do that too but you should at least do end game content. Next season I'm going to do a little softcore and see if I can make a build for deathless core malachai and uber atziri
no I got a couple tabulas I am trying to sell see in the screenshot
But seriously, BM gem has been a clutch for the lazy/stupid for a long time and has essentially been completely phased out in the last few big patches. Supporting skills on mana has never been easier and any investment required to do so is a cheaper cost than a socket.
If you ever decide to play in a group with 3 or more people youll have to get used to sub 30 fps with dips to as low as 8 with a top tier computer.
GGG said their plan for 2016 is to improve performance, if they dont deliver its going to start driving people away.
Right now people are generally happy with the balance of the game. So while the framerate drops are frustrating, people are willing to overlook it for a while.
Its only once content gets stale that people really ramp up their bitching.
People will stick around until Ascendancy gets stale, then GGG is on a clock before the game is donezo.
ouch! First time I see this mod, pretty cool
>while the framerate drops are frustrating, people are willing to overlook it for a while.
ggg introduced a shitton of performance issues in 2.0 and barely any of them have been touched
over 6 months of charge lag, ground effect lag, and the massive freezes when people load into your zones
anyone else planning on playing path of exile in virtual reality
How new are you? The performance problems were always there, desync being a bigger problem just shadowed it.
The same problems
>party being unplayable
GGG solution? Add more cancer effects and mtx effects.
Here's a quick band-aid, we might fix it in 2025.
>Not being able to turn your graphics down or turning off cancer like rain and particles?
S-stop ruining muh artistic vision even though there's people running the game with playdough mode.
Instead of fixing stuff which would make the game population bigger, they insist on releasing content, if they stopped for 6 months like they did for the failed PVP expansion, we would have a much better game with people actually able to party/play.
All of this is nothing new and it's been a problem since the first beta.
>mfw PoE is 4 years old
>only 1.2% of challengers have received Rigwald's Helmet
I haven't logged out in leagues, it's completely unnecessary. If you can survive the logout you can survive the mobility/run away.
No method of logout is 100% safe or effective either.
>If you can survive the logout you can survive the run away
what the fuck are you smoking
>they are in that price range
An unlinked belly is less than 1.5ex.
An unlinked shavs (an actual t1 unique) is 7ex.
If by "they are in that price range" you mean "they both have prices" then you are right. But otherwise you are delusional.
There is no instant way to logout. Standing still not leeching, potting or doing anything nfor any length of time in a dangerous situation is well, dangerous.
Go watch all those vods of those idiots logging out in relative "safety" even with that tcp macro and still coming back on standard.
Logging out should only be an absolutely "jesus christ I fucked up and am dying with no pots and no escape" resort. Which should be extremely rare.
Even the longest logout methods are less than half a second, with the fastest ones being 2/10th of a second.
There are a few videos out there of people logging out or attempting to log out when they should of just ran away(or in one case just killed the mobs). But 9 times out of 10 logging out is going to be the safer method.
How is it cherry picking? It's a t1 chest vs a none t1 chest.
There is no t1 unique chest that is even close to being as cheap as belly is, kaoms is still like 5-6ex and that is doubled in quantity from the card set.
Even pledge + belly isn't the same "range" 3ex isn't 5ex and beyond.
They aren't t1, they aren't in the same cost range as t1. These items are pretty fucking cheap and easy to obtain, even for new players.
>Even the longest logout methods are less than half a second, with the fastest ones being 2/10th of a second
In a perfect world maybe. There are plenty of examples of them leaving you hanging for fairly significant amounts of time.
Logging out is for panic shitters who can't deal with situations and would rather risk their character than to play properly.
Who gives a shit about softcore tail, the economy is fucked because its full of bots and nothing matters.
Also if you want to compare shitcore prices, then a belly is fucking 15chaos unlinked. That still puts it way out of a kaoms price range nigger now fuck off.
Logging out is going to be around forever with Chris in charge.
That guy is stuck so god damn far in the past. The guy likes the current chat experience because he wants it to be similar to D2.
And D2 chat required a fucking guide to work out until you learned every command.
Chris ripped this game out of the hands of his friends that helped him make it and managed to delete every trace of it. Chris will be the reason this game dies.
surely I can spend 300 life on clarity
I just restarted playing this season, last one I touched was the vaal one, I think the boxes where introduced then. Anyways, there's still a bunch of uniques I havent seen, but I'm not looking at everything on the wiki so... yeah.
Holy fuck how do I build a summoner?
I've gotten the best damage from arc mages. But if they die outside the armoury I'm fucked unless I want to trudge all the god damn way back there and resummon them. It's a huge nightmare trying to even keep them alive because they die in one hit to some boss spike damage. But then they don't even scale so within an hour they're useless. Zombies are pretty decent at staying alive but I can't get them to do piss all damage. Skeletons can tank well and putting them on a totem keeps them summoned but again, fuck all damage. I'm playing with someone using GMP bow build and he's dishing out like four times the damage my piddly minions do. If I can even get the useless fucks to actually attack things. They're horribly fond of walking into walls and sitting outside of boss rooms.
I've got instability and aegis. Aegis with discipline and tempest shield is keeping them alive against normal shit, so there's that.
desync in haku missions is the fucking worst
you think you are about to exit the map but nothing happens, because you are really still in the middle of it surrounded by a billion spiders
>inb4 still playing on predictive
>kek the entire discussion has been about softcore tali
His screenshot didn't list any league, only your dumb ass assumed it was softcore.
It doesn't matter though, the point still stands that belly and pledge are not t1 nor are their prices comparable to t1 on SC or HC.
Unlinked Belly is 15 fucking chaos.
Unlinked Shavs is 6ex, Kaoms is 2ex (which is greatly lowered by the card set)
5L Pledge is 1ex
5L Voltaxic (an actual t1) is 3ex
They aren't t1 prices and they aren't comparable to t1 prices. His setup cost jack shit and you are retarded.
explain your point here? you implied somebody was going to call you out for still playing on predictive. when in reality, if you're desyncing with lockstep, your ping is too high to be using it, and you should be on predictive.
voltaxic is a t2 and its obvious from the screenie is softcore. dude has even been posting deaths
the point is his gear is in t1 price range, and that doesnt mean its automatically obscenely expensive, just costly enough so that most new people will not be able to buy them easily because even following guides, it takes some diligence to save up 3ex
>the point is his gear is in t1 price range
But it isn't. Pledge and Belly are very common and very cheap.
>it takes some diligence to save up 3ex
Pledge and Belly can be bought for 1ex (5L pledge, fuck nothing for an unlinked one) and 15 chaos (belly) nigga, I've already listed the prices. Why do you keep saying its 3 when it isn't even half that?
>hurr my definition of "t1 costs" has nothing to do with the actual costs of t1 items but rather an "idea of things that are on the very bottom end of expensive"
Its time to reevaluate your life choices friend.
what class are you playing?
You can play witch or scion. I chose scion. This is my current tree:
Basically I'm using discipline, haste, clarity.
Also Hatred+generosity for the summons.
You want a lot of mana regen/cost reduction for SRS. you also want to boost them with echo, melee damage, melee splash, multi strike, etc. Zombies/spectre/vaal skelly are more there for meatshield. Same for animate guardian and chaos golem.
Zombies/animate guardian can be liked to fortify to help and any minion resist/hp, etc.
There's a lot of other skill you want to use, like flesh offering, vaal haste. I'm actually using to unset rings just to put some utility skills.
Hope this helps. I see some people going pure SRS, and other pure zombies, skelly, etc. I did zombies before so I'm trying more SRS-based this time.
what is your actual problem man
you fucking complained about desync. then implied you were playing on lockstep, and that people would make fun of you for still being on predictive.
but you don't get it, you are SUPPOSED to be on predictive with your shit ass ping. and i said shit ass ping, because there is no chance that you are desyncing while playing on lockstep if your ping is less than 100.
i guess this is the most autistic hour of the day so ill explain as clearly as i can:
>inb4 calling me out for using predictive
if this was so hard to understand please check you've taking the right meds
>you are SUPPOSED to be on predictive with your shit ass ping
>implying not feeling lag is somehow better than always knowing exactly what is happening to your character
>inb4 calling me out for using predictive
>inb4 still playing on predictive
quit contradicting yourself
low ping, you play on lockstep. high ping you play on predictive. it's very simple.
I think you just misread what he posted.
He said he was desyncing and made a comment about people giving him shit for playing on predictive.
He never said he was on lockstep. Also, you can still desync on lockstep with less than 100 ping.
You said two different things and are acting as if you said one thing the entire time. Don't blame others for your own ineptitude.
I would be inclined to agree with you considering the amount of confusion, but when you read >>128628869, the greentext definitely implies that he expected people to tell him to switch to lockstep, but already had when he shouldn't have.
>but already had when he shouldn't have.
absolutely nothing in that post implies this
hence why i asked if you knew how to read an inb4 greentext
anyway, parsing small ambiguities in this thread must be like a full time job for you, so ill leave you to it
>inb4 still playing on predictive
This means that he expected people to tell him "lolthere's new netcode scrub, switch to lockstep". Which means he was on lockstep. How is this difficult to understand?
I'm sitting here repeating myself, explaining my side and on your side there's nothing but ad hominem.
Make a point. Explain that line of greentext if it's so obvious? I explained what it meant to me and it makes perfect sense.
>Explain that line of greentext if it's so obvious? I explained what it meant to me and it makes perfect sense.
the line of text immediately before the green text clearly DESCRIBES PREDICTIVE MODE DESYNC
the greentext then just assumes someone will call him out on that
so who's gonna play D3 for like... a week?
Maybe I will, but I'm not done with talisman anyways.
>inb4 still playing on predictive
you inb4 to guess what people are going to say to you.
the poster guess that people were going to laugh at him for still playing on predictive. this heavily implies he was on lockstep because he knows predictive causes desync.
simple enough for your retard ass?
>this heavily implies he was on lockstep
>talking about map wide desync on a haku mission
no dont pick anything. just pick the phone and call the police and them show them this thread so they can lock you up on some autism spectrum reservation
There are a large number of people that play both now, the sudden drop off of players for the next 2 weeks will cause more people that dont play D3 to quit.
Once the people that went to D3 come back theyll see that the league isnt very active and just decent to not play for the last month of the league.
The last month of a league is already dead without a diablo season in the middle of it.
I honestly disagree a lot. There's a couple points to bring up. First being that PoE isn't very multiplayer, unless you run with a consistent group. I can see groups doing some d3 but most I know that run in groups don't play anything but PoE and maybe a moba. Second being that to really call the game "dead", you have to define that, and we'd obviously define that using amount of player interaction as a basis. This refers to the first point, for group play, and then refers to a second group of players, traders. Trading players don't play d3 because, well, no trading.
I really think it's more a natural death of the league, and not as much of it could be contributed to d3 as you might think.
I play in a group in PoE, were all playing D3 for a few weeks then taking time off until March.
My primary source of fun in arpgs is trading, D3 has none of that, but I still find it fun somehow.
Its true that this is where the natural death of the league starts, and its possible D3 doesnt contribute that much, but I doubt it helps.
But I will still believe that D3 has a decent impact on PoE leauges.
I think a year or two ago there wernt as many people that went from PoE to D3, but PoE has gotten stale enough and D3 has improved enough to where thats no longer the case. You even see the big PoE streamers playing D3 seasons now.
For all you know they listed those uniques on the RMT site just to get google hits. If someone actually paid the money and obtained those items then sure, there is something fishy going on.
Also if GGG would generate items, they would not have the exact same implicit, they can completely rng create items.
Im surprised more people didnt get angry over this.
People got all uppity over Div cards being to sell stash tabs and they didnt have anywhere near the impact that Talismans had.
I had 2 fucking stash tabs dedicated to storing all those shitty necks.
Cheapest belly i can find on poe.trade THC is 1.25 ex.
Aka 70~ chaos. Thats not that cheap. Its affordable sure, but not as cheap as you make it sound.
Pledge is 2 ex. 1.9 ex to be on point, or 105 chaos, the cheapest one.
to be fair, minus max with boss damage, most HC builds wouldnt even touch that especially for double excavation burning mans.
also I got crit and I didn't have my ruby up, everything else was smooth though.
its coc bladefall
Ofc you can. You can also get hit by a wild boar when walking to your bathroom in the morning. Its highly unlikely but possible.
It takes me like 6 frenzy charges flicker striking to desync once per hour on lockstep with stable 60 ping. Also when i finally do desync on lockstep, it always takes around 1 sec tops to resync me.
I think people dont even fucking know what desync is anymore, and say that any lag or stuttering is desync.
I've had desync happen like predictive on lockstep, but only on servers where I have 100+ ping. Literally the same thing, getting pulled back to where you were because your character wasn't at the same place as the server thought.
The server is definitive. It's your client's simulation that falls out of sync. With lockstep the sync rate is really high, but you can desync for really small intervals. I'll rarely see a mob warp from a fraction of a second's divergence due to ping jitter.
By far the most annoying aspect of lockstep is the jittering that happens in narrow pathways in such as in Sarn.
