Guys, should I grind up a Cleveland to get the kongo/myoko challenge done with?
I have trouble getting the DD's and it seems viable to shred some DD's and also in the future I could get the fires, the AA one and so on.

Clevelands are only bad to fight if you don't know how to fight them. You can either:
>keep your distance and take potshots at him until he gets frustrated and leaves
>close in as fast as possible while weaving ever-so-slightly and presenting the smallest possible profile for him to hit while you fire with your forward batteries
Cleveland shells do laughable damage against a well-angled opponent. Meanwhile, though Clevelands are hard to citadel in a cruiser, their sides are still pretty soft and vulnerable. You may not get citpens, but volleys of 5-7k will ruin his day pretty quickly.

I actively went into destroyer alleys though, unless there was a battleship right there I was consistently capping each battle trying to get a destroyer to come contest.

You mean if he's headed straight for you? You might not be able to do a lot of damage to him, but he certainly can't for you, either. If you're playing a IJN or KM cruiser, at a certain point, it becomes exponentially more dangerous for the Cleveland to get any closer because of torps. He'll probably know this and swerve to avoid torps but that's when you shoot him right in his fat, squishy sides.

A Cleveland vs Cleveland duel is a toss-up based on who has the best gunnery.

What's more dangerous is a Cleveland who is sailing away from you. Don't let him bait you into an asswaggle tailchase.

Try to be just slightly behind a friendly DD or something. Don't go charging in by yourself unless you have no choice. I dunno. DDs are best at finding DDs, so if you follow them, you're bound to get some good shots at a distracted enemy DD.

I don't play for months, and I come up with these kind of score, yet back when I played often I was way worse than this... Go figure
