So I just started this game about a 4 days ago and I just learned about the term soft ban and how FROM throws it to players casually...How do I know if I'm softbanned? I have about 14hours into the game and have been only invaded once. I do get decent amounts of co op gameplay like summoning and being summoned. Is there a way to test if my account is fucked or nah?
If you're getting good amounts of co-op then there's no way you're softbanned. A sure-fire way of finding out is to go warp to an area with an orange border and try to invade, if you can't in 3 of those areas you're soft banned and need to use the bone of order
Yes. But it would still be a ridiculously monotone block, run, strike, strike, strike, block, run, strike, strike, strike, block, run, strike, strike, strike ad nauseam fare.
Rolling perfectly may be better if you actually have the skills for it. But even my old grandpa could beat them using a good shield.
you're so mad with pathetic rage it's somewhat funny.
Was that PSX 2015 Footage the latest gameplay video released?
The wharf was pretty cool with regards to the fire and the oil. The monsters were afraid of fire, the vikings would douse you in oil, and if you tried to light your torch when you were covered in oil you would burn to death.
Forest of fallen giants where the hollow soldiers attack the corpses of giants that have been turned into trees was really cool. Seeing a soldier barreling towards me and then going past so he could go smack a tree was pretty cool.
How is a backup even a cheat? Restoring a backup just reverts the game to a previous state.
It affects neither you, nor anyone else, either positively or negatively. It merely reverts time so to speak.
How and why does it trigger their supposed cheat detection?
And how can it (if it even can) tell the difference between a game having ended abruptly and a backup being restored?
The very beginning of the game was promising. All those dog like things running around, the side path with the big footsteps that led to the ogre. Also, looking out at Majula for the first time was breath taking.
>Doing summons in Iron Keep
>Host skips the smelter demon
>Have to burn some repair powder because I used too many pancake smashes
>We get all the way to the third bonfire
>He BCs me
>I don't even get my good boy sticker
Im on my first playthrough and im a faith/str char, should i use velstads soul for the hammer or the miracle?
>was living with parent up until 3 years ago
>playing dark souls
>dad asks what the game is about
>was going to explain game mechanics, weapons, dark age-esque setting
>instead I say "It's about hopelessness and all of your friends dying"
now I remember.
>sunbroing in Earthen Peak
>two times the host hadn't set the windmill on fire
>two times they follow me back and actually follow my instructions to do so
I do a lot of co-op with my friends but only buff them with heal/cure spells and have a +10 mace with a +10 heidknight sword as a back up is the hammer better than what i have if upgraded?
The Undead Crypt was really awesome. The wall that turned out to be giants holding shields, the sorcerers being tied to their grave stones, the arms that would slash you from out of the walls. It all seemed really creative all of a sudden. Plus, it looked incredibly cool to light up the crypt with a torch.
I've got 42 poise and get stunlocked in 1-hit by anything when blocking. I freeze up in the idle animation for a couple frames after blocking for no reason regardless of stamina and poise.
I've verified game files
I've maxed my poise (as I can for ~1st bell)
He just stops blocking after any hit no matter what
>use ascetic on sinners rise for flame weapon
>mfw these giant green mutants in the water
what the fuck are these things does ng+ change this game that much everywhere else?
>File too large
>3.59 MB max 3 MB
>File too large
>3.19 MB max 3 MB
>3.09 MB max 3 MB
I'M FUCKING TRYING DAMN IT
AMD CAN'T ENCODE VIDEO FOR SHIT
As someone who just beat Dark Souls I and bought II on PS4, why do the controls feel so floaty all of a sudden? I played I on PC with my PS4 controller, and it controlled fine. In II, I feel like I'm on ice.
Perhaps because of this? Your character also carries some momentum so you can't make sharp turns as easily.
Fuck it potato video, you can still see what's happening
I'm holding block button the whole time
He automatically resumes blocking after idle stance after hits
When I start attacking, I've been spamming attack but it's blocked by the idle animation lock
My poise is 40+ w/ chain and boar helm and hollow warrior metal shield
Pirated copy you held block until fatigue ran out, and poise was a factor in this
When poise or fatigue failed you did a definite "UGH" animation
This he just idles
That's fucking weird. I have a lot of knowledge of the game but I've never seen anything like this. Some things I can think of: if you used Cheat Engine it might have fucked your save data. Maybe it's your controller? I've turned the controller rumble off myself, but perhaps the rumble you get from an enemy hitting your shield somehow makes the controller think you release the block? Try playing with keyboard controls to see if your controller is the fault.
MY RUMBLE WAS BROKEN
I got through the first bell just 2-handing + never getting hit because of this. Fuck.
I was thinking this was a patch or something to nerf tanks or something stupid.
Did SotfS make any balance changes to the classes and weapons somehow?
I made a cleric for my character this time around, but I amusingly only have 11 strength while my mace requires 12. I don't recall this being the case, but then again my memory may not be that good.
so, I loved Dragonslayer Spear is Dark Souls 1 and was wondering
how well does it perform in Dark Souls 2? for this playthrough I just feel like being a shitter and using rapier/ropera w/ sacred oath, stone ring and rob flynnstone
and was kind of considering as using DSS as a backup for bosses like Shitter Demon where physical damage is mitigated pretty heavily
>Darkhand life drain can grab through shielded spear poke attacks
>sorceress are ezmode babi tier!
no, sorcerers suck fucking dick.
>slow ass cast speed that doesn't improve until THIRTY DEX
>spells love to miss just because the enemy moved 3 pixels
>suck dick at melee to boot
prove me wrong.
Just got SOTFS a few days ago, is there a new PVP weapon tier list?
I was thinking Black knight greataxe build but it feels a bit slow and leaves you wide open. Any relatively fast big weapons with good 2H movesets?
>all of the holes on the left side i still get hurt
>all of the holes on the right side im perfectly fine even if im not all the way in
why do the left side holes even exist
April is coming! The nightmare is on fire. Now I'm waking up, I'll forget everything!
nah hes dead already but i can tell you i was all the way in the corner of the hole the first necromancer is in and when i decided to use the right ones after i died i saw even the damn necromancer takes damage in his hole
Soon, brother. Soon. Very soon. 2.0 soon.
Black Knight Greataxe is probably the worst PvP weapon you can still call a weapon.
It's monstrously slow, slower than any other ultra weapon.
Unlike other ultras, its 2h moveset can be parried. Reaction parried, at that. It has a reaper-tier sweet spot.
It has high damage, sure, but you suffer for it. Using it is like using the dragon tooth in DaS1. Without 2hWR or backstabbing.
>Starts her summoning
>Summons little piggus instead of skeletons
Stop at just before 5 mil. Thats the end of tier 36, which is 3- <5 mill SM. That seems pretty active for endgame people.
Lucky bastard. I have never seen her do that.
Well sheeeit, tried it out for a bit in PVE, the damage IS great, but holy fuck the speed and stamina cost really fucks you up at times, and the speed spot shit is really annoying since most mobs try their hardest to hug you as close as possible.
Any other recommendations? I'm just going through the DLC areas atm. How were the fume and ivory king ultra greatswords?
Trying to platinum these games is such a huge pain in the ass
>100% DS1 on all platforms
>only 100% vanilla DS2 on xbox360
>don't have the patience to go through multiple NG cycles PLUS the DLCs to get all the spells
Don't expect too much from fume's pve damage unless you gimp your rings and survivability. It takes a lot of stamina per swing so you're better off with other weapons. Of course, the speed and range is ridiculous for pvp and that's why people value it so highly. Not BSS tier sadly, that weapon was in a class of its own
If you're doing pve stick with the estoc, some club or some big-hitting one shotter like the mastodon/big candy cone. Strike damage/ lightning etc. rambleramble
Ivory King ultra greatsword is the strongest ultra greatsword. It was when it was released, and then it got buffed even more.
It requires bracing knuckle and some hefty requirements, but it's worth it.
The laser adds a huge amount of range, though the laser itself does small damage.
This thing can't combo 2h attacks, but it does huge enough damage that it doesn't matter.
Beast of a weapon. What ultra weapons should be.
Fume ultra greatsword requires dedication to fully learn. It deflects attacks when blocking with two hands.
You can combine that with block stun cancels to wham people during their stagger for most of their health, and also if you time it right, can have small amounts of block frames during rolls or 2hr2s.
This is pretty strong, obviously. If you learn it, it is immensely satisfying, and can neuter small weapons.
If you play without exploiting those, it's an okay weapon.
The 2hL2 is pretty good for smashing people that roll behind you. Rolling behind someone, as if to backstab, and 2hr2ing will usually catch their roll. Very good.
Like the Ivory King, its range is huge.
What's EZ mode for Dark Souls 2 (regular, not SotFS)? Magic/hexes seem a bit... underpowered till at least midgame.
Is there anything else other than mace/rapier and lots of life gems since armor sucks?
Steel protection ring. Murder Saulden for it. In PvE, it reduces about as much damage as full fucking havels+5.
Yes, the +0 one. +2 only reduces about 40 more damage, if I remember right.
Someone asked what this was the other day. Was going through grave of saints so I made a webm for getting it.
Shrine of Amana was super nice to look at and I love the atmosphere. Fuck actually fighting there, but the design of the area itself was 10/10 for me. Dat longing singing, dat light through the roots, dem glowing plants, all of it just blended together and will always be maximum comfy for me.
Approaching Drangleic Castle for the first time gave me chills and reminded me of Twilight Princess when you finally shatter the barrier and can get to Hyrule Castle proper. The actual area in the castle wasn't that great, but the approach. God damn that first approach made the entire game worth it to me.
No, other way around.
Blacksmith's is marginally shorter, and has no counter strength.
It says it has 40 poise break, but like the mastodon greatsword, it's not actually any higher than others in its class.
Did extensive testing on such weapons.
you dont want to know how many characters ive restarted due to losing large recoveries
I'm kinda similar. I'm at 862k SM with 3/4 primal bonfires lit and nowhere near my build being finished. I'm spending way too much time worrying about not seeing people soon, more than I did before taking a long break from DaS2
This is the worst part about coming back from Bloodborne.
Not the animations, the grafix, the weapon movesets, but the stress.
I miss being able to rack up a million echoes without trying in chalices and not care about them, due to having max of every purchasable item.
Do you get covered in blood after killing multiple enemies in DaS3, like in BB, or did they remove that ?
It's weird how many people I've talked to that think Smough is shorter than the giant sentinels for some reason.
That would make the most sense. It's not quite how it's done for the player, but that's probably limitations of the model.
Can someone give me a hand with this?
I don't know what to use for rings/armor/hexes. I just kinda have this very rough base and I know what weapon I want to use.
I get the feeling it might come as a surprise to you to know they're the same size too.
I forgive you my son
>tfw I'm gonna get the PC version of DaS3 and can enjoy the benefits of a save editor so I don't have to waste a single minute of my life farming for super rare % drops
Also, since Miyazaki is idiotically against the idea of Soul Vessels, this means I can also modify and respec my stats so that I don't ever have to replay the game just to try out how much I'd like a build idea I saw on a forum.
Why should I spend 5-6 hours rushing through the game on a brand new just to see whether or not I can have fun with the latest meme build?
This might also seem a little strange.
Brief reminder, Gough is as big as the Giant Blacksmith.
>tfw want to build artorias and dragon chicken cosplay on ps3
>tfw have to go through a shit ton of hours to get the gear
>tfw can't make a save where I invade low-levels and one where I do some good ol' oolacile duels
>implying I care about multiplayer or online functions in a Souls game
Thousands of hours in the series. Not a single minute spent on online. Still having tons of fun.
Since you are using an UGS, I would look into getting your poise to at least hit hyper armor values of 163. Shoot for at least 82 poise, or even better, 102 for 25 poise weapons.
For spells, try shit. Use vessels to test spells, then spice them down. I would look into spicing down non-buff and not affinity since they don't suffer when spiced. If you don't like hexes, go with sacred oath and heals since you have the faith.
Rings- probably Royal Soldier, Third Dragon for the armor for the poise, Probably giants ring, and either chloranthy for stam regen or clear bluestone for the spells if you want to cast offensively.
Thats my 2 cents anyway. Someone will probably pic it apart.
>bought battleaxe from blacksmith used it till i got to bandit axe
>decided to powerstance them both together
>got a varangian helmet drop
>i have become the viking
this shit is really fun but one l2 takes my entire stam bar at 10 end
i should throw in some faith and be a norse god
>since Miyazaki is idiotically against the idea of Soul Vessels
>While Miyazaki is unsure if the “Soul Vessel” item will be available in Dark Souls III, he says there will be a method for players to reallocate stat points so that they can change builds around without having to create a completely new character. “I’m not sure if the same sort of item will be implemented, but there will be a method for players to re-assign souls,” Miyazaki says.
You usually work off of something like sixth-hand information, don't you?
So Smough's type of giant are the socially acceptable ones, while Gough's type are considered a brutish subspecies?
That makes for a really interesting dynamic with how Smough is such a piece of shit and Gough is so wise and honorable.
FUCK OFF SHILL
Uh, I play the game without dealing with bullshit like RNG-based farming or a lack of in-game stat-modifying options?
I just spend my average relaxed run through a game fighting through enemies, experimenting with different tactics and builds, enjoy the feeling of dodging and dancing around PvE challenges. Sometimes I also do challenge runs, like no-damage-to-myself against bosses.
One thing I like to do, for example, is just go through the second-half of Anor Londo and parry and riposte all the Silver Knights to death. I'd do that, go back to the bonfire where Solaire is and repeat the process. I could spend hours just doing that. It's fun.
Then when I get bored, I try out the exact same thing but with a different weapon, armor and stat combination. And when I get bored of melee, I run through the Silver Knights using other things, like maybe pure Pyromancy or Magic.
I somehow misjudged the length of the sword and got pierced, cursed and died to the swarm of skulls.
But that's a first. Never actually thought I'd fail like that. Damn I suck.
So much for my SotFS playthrough going better than my vanilla playthrough.
Softbans seem to be mostly caused by changing your Soul Memory, and having impossible stats (like 1500/1000 HP for example).
Some people have reported softbans for editing items to have incorrect values, especially since it was a common problem to accidentally make weapons that count as consumables.
I've edited my soul memory for multiple characters but never had any impossible stats or soul level/soul memory combinations.
Do they pick up on this shit fairly quickly? just wondering if I'll get softbanned in the future or not
It's real satisfying. It helps that the game has very satisfying parries and ripostes to pull off.
It's almost as satisfying as parrying and zandatsu'ing multiple enemies at once in Metal Gear Rising.
There hasn't been a consistent method to their detection system. It might be monitored in waves, or instantly detected but only "some" people get banned. Some times you get away with doing things you shouldn't, sometimes you get immediately caught.
It's in your best interests to do all your editing offline, as long as everything makes sense once you go back online.
Not gonna lie, that sounds boring and autistic as fuck, but you do you, anon.
The main point is to enjoy vidya.
Can someone explain to me why everyone in Dark Souls 3 is a fucking giant?
In the various stress tests there wasn't ONE normal sized enemy, you were literally a midget fighting giants for some reason, everyone was oversized, it looks even worse than bloodborne and DaSII
>farming for minotaur helm
fuck these walking hitboxes of abnormal enemies, and dont get me started on their fucking damage output
also what is suposed to be the # of STR I need to power stance gyrm greataxe? I want to make a glass cannon minotaur guy
What do you think the descriptions of these will be ? Relics belonging to some long forgotten warriors from some long forgotten kingdom ?
Fuck that, I hope they'll introduce bits of DaS2 locations/lore as well as some DaS1 stuff.
Screw meaningless throwaway references.
But yeah, it's probably going to be the way you described, although there is a clear shot of Anor Londo ruins in the trailer, so there's still some hope.
I hope by Anor Londo Ruins you meant pic related. The picture you showed is the High Wall of Lothric area.
thoughts on a 4th ring/ my miracle choices? also i was going to keep a defender GS as a backup should i lightning infuse it with these stats
Yeah I was just struggling to find the right pic.
>Why are you the only human sized in the whole game? Why is everyone huge?
Who gives a shit? Just give me a sword and board and I'll kill them all, whether they're big guys or small guys.
>posting an Oroboro link
>spend hour trying to get heide sword
>give up and just do a quick 50k soul memory build instead
>kill the first heide knight in tower of flame for laughs
On the bright side the heide armor set looks kind of cool I guess
>be doing bellbongs
>invaded by some portuguese guy
>he parries my shit and starts casting WotG
>as im getting up i take no damage didnt even roll
>in his confusion r1 spam to victory
Can't help but notice there's a parallel between this scene from the DaS1 opening cinematic and the first DaS3 trailer. Even the DaS3 trailer's tag, "now only embers remain", seems to be similar to what was said in the cutscene.
Any on you niggas has a spare minotaur helm to drop for me? I cant fucking endure farming iron warriors for all these frustrating hours, SOTFS PC I got a name engravement ring and sit at 509K SM.
So i'm jumping back into Dark Souls 1 PVP and i'm aiming for some Paladin Character using Lucerne and some other weapon i haven't really decided on yet. I've literally never played faith before so i have no clue on what to put stats in.
It currently looks like this https://www.mugenmonkey.com/darksouls/?b=Y2xlcmljLDQ1LDE1LDQ1LDE2LDEyLDExLDgsNDAsMTAsNiwxOSw0NSwyNywzLDMxLDE2MywxMiwxMjgsOTMsbm9ybWFsLGRldmluZSxub3JtYWwsZGV2aW5lLDEsNDYsNTMsNTgsMCwwLDAsMCwwLDAsMCwwLDAsOSx3b29kZW4sd29vZGVuLHdvb2Rlbix3b29kZW4sMSwwLDAsMCwwLDAsMCww
However, i realized people could negate my damage completely with great magic barrier, so i'm unsure if going 40 faith is a good idea. I'm wondering if it's a better idea to go maybe 30-35 faith and put some points into either strength or skill and use Sunlight buff when i have the opportunity. Figured i'd ask here for some guidelines since literally all my older builds have been edgy Dexfags and Quality.
If you had 9k souls less I could give you mine but you are one tier too high and I can't buy the ring since I'm 200 souls from moving up a tier
You can just CE it in with the item swapper
>get invaded by some fucking faggot in belfry in iron keep for like the fucking time in ever
>Japanese McDonalds wifi
>comes from Russia
>gestures when lagstab'd
reminder that the reason some of us get Ds3 on PS4 is so we can exit when faggots invade or just play in plain offline mode
fuck this entire fucking community when it comes to MP
>reminder that the reason some of us get Ds3 on PS4 is so we can exit when faggots invade or just play in plain offline mode
What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
Since when you can't disconnect or play offline on PC?
High (40-50) faith will make your miracles very strong, divine weapons are always quite bad in PvP. If someone puts on a GMB just change your weapon to a lightning damage weapon. Also, if you really want to use a faith based projectice spell, use Emit Force, Lightning Spears just don't work unless you're ganking or something.
does lucatiel need to survive her summons for credit on her sidequest?
i summoned some guy to help keep her alive and lucatiel ran right off the port in wharf and i just went and killed the boss to not waste the dudes time
Black Gulch because it has this atmosphere of being a small but unbelievably dangerous location that's so far underground, nobody will ever be able to help you. Catacombs/Tomb of the Giants kind of did that better, but I played DaS2 first so it struck me as a bit more memorable, plus the visuals in Black Gulch are just great with the greens on black.
Yeah, I successfully taught a person who was hosting me to burn the windmill. I noticed there was poison in front of the two Grave Wardens just outside the boss arena, so I started doubling back and using whatever means of communication I had available to point him towards the windmill. Thankfully he somehow made the leap in logic to burn it after seeing he couldn't normally interact with it; the only hint I was able to give about that was pulling out my Pyromancy Flame.
i sure do love bosses that have really long range and fast recovery and on top of that a jump away move they do right after a fast swipe or long range stab
DID YOU HEAR ME FROM
MAYBE ALL THE BOSSES IN DS3 SHOULD DO THIS SINCE YOU LOVE IT SO MUCH ITS GREAT NOT BEING ABLE TO GET A HIT IN UNLESS I HAVE A SUPER FAST DAGGER OR FUCKING SOMETHING
Most of it is uncofirmed but if you CE items before you could possibly have them, like ring of the living before opening the shrine of winter etc you might get banned
There shouldn't really be an issue with CEing in items that you can farm from enemies that you have already killed
>Get killed a few times, having more trouble than I expected (this being my third run of the game, though the first one I did co-op whenever possible so I learned little)
>Want to go human when the health reduction starts to be a bit much
>"Summoned to the world of Blake"
>Guy is wearing the full Manikin set, has some small gray shield I can't name, a curvy-looking dagger as well
>Enter the mist
>He dies in just a few seconds; can't dodge, doesn't block, dies in two hits
>Place my summon sign again, wait a bit
>"Summoned to the world of Blake"
>Go in again, he dies again
>Rinse and repeat, he's the only one summoning me, happens maybe three times
>I get sick of trying to do co-op, eat an Effigy, kill Velstadt solo after a couple tries
>About to leave
>Feel bad for Blake, know he won't win on his own
>Put down summon sign again
>"Summoned to the world of Blake"
>I go in and start fighting, he stays on the sidelines and tosses some lightning shit at the boss
>Almost done with the fight
>Velstadt does a ranged attack, I dodge it but it goes and oneshots Blake
>Finally win, almost completely soloing Velstadt with his increased health, Blake's only contributions are adorable attempts at hurting him with firebombs and firebomb variants
Should I have helped him?
I just want this minotaur helm so goddamn badly but it wont just drop and ive been at it for 4 hours, not fun anymore, so ill be fine then.
this the right one? I never used CE and all so yeah
That's what summonings there for. As much as people spout "LEL GIT GUD" some people just flat out won't be as good at video games with things like good reaction time, summoning is effectively lowering the difficulty so they can still have an enjoyable experience.
Just download CE
And swap a dropped item from the list here https://gist.githubusercontent.com/AlexWTF/9eb93ffdedb753e88fec/raw/6bbf60daa7f215221ecda676d8ae0993afbef9fa/Equiped%20Armor.txt
If you want an extra layer of security do it in offline mode
If you DO end up getting banned post it here so everyone else would know, a lot of things about how sotfbans work are untested right now
Assuming he had problems with Velstadt, oh yes he will.
Eh, Fume Knight ain't so bad when you have human summons to gank him. The only boss I'd say is worse with summons (at least that I can think of off the top of my head) is Ancient Dragon.
the issue is the fact that people who want to make sorcerers in OG Dark Souls are forced to go the same old stale 40 INT + 40 DEX build in order to be viable because of how Dex scales with casting speed.
basically, sorcerors are commonly frowned upon because they're usually the same stupid build that uses crystal magic weapon + dex weapon of choice, crystal soul spear, and homing crystal soulmass.
Dark Souls II handled Sorcerer builds a lot better. Extra casting speed, casts, and agility for raising attunement, which made circumvented the need for raising dexterity so high and allowing sorcerer builds to get the bare minimum str/dex for the weapon they wanted to use.
however, that being said, I would never play Dark Souls II PvP without some sort of Magics/Miracles/Pyromancies because it's literally "who has the longer weapon range to get their two hits in first".
Just got cursed for the very first time there.
Having no vit in the first place makes it extra painful...
You can climb up and once you know the way it's no problem.
Maybe, assuming you know what you're doing. He is the ultimate casual filter though.
>hits someone for 80% of their HP because they summoned phantoms
>they run off to chug because they assume they're safe since muh sunbros
>Fume immideatly aggroes and does his infamous plunge stab
There is a valid reason as to why he has the highest win ratio among DaS2 bosses.
I guess co-op would be hard if you never realize that he aggros to random targets no matter what, but the challenge with him is mostly in learning how to read his attacks. He's hardly the first boss you would have encountered up to that point that is capable of killing you in two hits.
It used to be on the farfire DaS2 website, but it is dead now and DaS2 has a new official website because of SotFS.
>Data provided by From Software reveals that the Fume Knight from Crown of the Old Iron King is statistically the most punishing boss in Dark Souls 2, defeating challengers almost 93 percent of the time. The Fume Knight's toughness is consistent with a general increase in boss difficulty after Dark Souls 2's main campaign. Of the five bosses most likely to defeat players on a per-encounter basis, four originate in the Lost Crowns DLC: Elana the Squalid Queen, Sir Alonne, Sinh the Slumbering Dragon, and the dreaded Fume Knight.
>The Ruin Sentinel gauntlet wins the prize for the single most-frequented boss encounter among all Dark Souls 2 players. Heroes have pitted themselves against the Sentinels almost 25 million times, with an average success rate of 76 percent across all platforms, meaning the Sentinels win about one out of every four attempts.
I'm surprised the success rate is so high. I always go in with summons (because why the fuck wouldn't you summon for a multi-enemy boss fight) but I would think they destroy people who try to solo them.
It's mostly just a 1v2 when you solo them, since you 1v1 the first one as soon as you enter, unless you drop off the platform which will aggro the others. Soloing them is pretty easy as a result
Keep trying. Remember that blue orbs work worldwide in a wave-like manner, first the system searches for people to invade in your current location, but it's also possible to invade people anywhere you've been so far.
> tfw save corrupted on PS3 and i lost everything.
> tfw lost a character in Dark Souls that had high INT,FAITH,STR,DEX,VIT AND END.
> tfw lost my sweet clothes, rings and Claymore.
dude, once you run through the game enough times you can make a fully-blown PvP character in less than like 2 hours.keep playing :D
Demon's Souls is really good IMO. like better than Dark Souls in my book good (no way to play it on PC though, it and Wipeout HD are the only reason I still use my PS3).
What's a good time to start the DS2 DLCs? I just found the heavy iron key which I assume is for the crown of the iron king DLC, and I've beaten the demon of song.
Do them after you finish the Dragon Aerie and get the Ashen Mist Heart, because the DLCs are all balanced for the endgame and there's a boss you need the Heart to access anyway.
Nah the long one is pretty easy once you get used it
The hardest part is the first room and if you have issues with it you can kill the first 2 guys then run past the rest of the area, even if you fuck up and get shot by the archer a single estus charge wouldn't really change the fight
Get the Ashen Mist Heart first, its a mandatory item you can't miss it
Whenever you feel ready.
Do you feel ready?
But they're so easy, Elana is only really difficult if she spawns a Velstadt (that can be mostly ignored) and Sinh isn't difficult at all, the nigga is just a waiting game because he flies constantly.
>But they're so easy
I've seen a stream of a russian guy trying to beat Ruin Sentinels for 8 hours non-stop.
While in the bellkeepers I gained 9 Titanite slabs by running around harmlessly wearing the white phantom ring and backstabbing when they enter fog gate.
Or ambushing them when another bellbro joins.
You get both souls if you Ascetic, The Rotten and Old Dead One.
Because as hollows they don't remember anything else other than "we were in a war with these tree-men".
Forest Hunters are jokes and Bell Keepers will provide free Titanite while never getting closed off because the host killed a boss. All these slabs are a bit ridiculous, though. I mean they were a bit ridiculous long ago when I got the slabs needed to +10 my rapiers and the extra two I'd need to +10 my later weapons when I get them
>he doesn't wear shorts
Free Titanite for every dead host is pretty good, because forest is JUST souls and only from people who haven't killed Sif and have to be human. At the very least, to hit rank 3 it'd be 100 free Titanite Chunks, except it's more like 80 Titanite Chunks, 10 slabs and some random Twinkling here and there. I'm not even staying in this covenant for much longer
Bellfry invasions are more likely to be you vs the host and the respective Bellfry's NPC summon. That image has been outdated ever since Scholar decided both Sol and Luna needed NPCs to annoy the invaders
>unlock an optional area
>right as I walk in, an NPC warns me that I might get shredded to bits if I don't back the fuck off
>get dunked on by two grey spirits
I'm thinking about doing a 50int and 30 faith build for dark souls 2. Whats a intresting weapon to use with low reqs? I'm considering either moonlight greatsword or longsword enchanted with int.
Is this boss battle worth the DLC price /dsg/?
no I don't have prepare to die edition, yes I am playing on console, pls no bully
The entire DLC is really damn good and tightly designed, I'd highly recommend it.
Besides there's actually 3 more boss battles other than Artorias and they're all pretty good.
Why the fuck are Fire Salamanders so ridiculously hard? Fucking christ their tracking is ridiculous, it's like they're spinning on wheels. Not to mention their aggro range for them shooting fireballs is pretty ridiculous.
I don't know how the hell I would've killed any of them if I didn't have a bow, and even then their range to shoot fireballs was actually farther than my bow range at some points.
>Hello Kitty Adventure sounds right up your alley.
There can't possibly be someone so dense AND new to say things like that.
Does anyone have a dark souls 2 equivalent of this? I'm to lazy to make one myself.
What's going on?
How do i fix this? lol
man fuck you, re rolling
>wtf is going on lately?
An endless cycle of birth and death
>die 35 times
>b-beat him first try haha
I'm a ultrasword str build with no faith and a little intelligence put in and I just hit the shrine of fucking heat seeking magic missiles. Should I spend a vessel and redo my points so I can have more faith for the lightning bolt or wtf?
Just got SotFS, making 7 new characters with different goals, all questions pertain to SM on PC.
Best SM range for invading looking glass knight?
Bellbong SM range?
Chasm of Old?
and a little more open ended, DLC (shulva and eleum loyce)/iron keep bridge range?
>white ring will never make your red signs appear white
Why not, FROM? Do you hate fun?
/dsg/ Alan Rickman is dead.
Roll and name your character Alan Rickman
By Grabthar's Hammer, what a savings
>softbanned for putting 99 CREO's ob my char in even OFFLINE mode
>mfw didn't buy SotFS
>mfw vanilla is still alive and I have plenty of people to invade
I knew I made the right choice.
Why not? Abyss invasions are super fun.
And you can also use the character for LGK invasions for Abyss invasions as well, since you can only unlock the covenant upon arriving to drangleic castle and the SM ranges are pretty much the same.
>having to stroll through frigid outskirts each time i want to fight lmao 2 cats
I though blue smelter demon's run was idiotic but fuck this.
There's nothing interesting after that and i already fought this boss so fuck it
People do it because it makes spergs mad for some reason.
Expect more of this in DaS3;^)
thanks anon, I'll try that, I was going to have LGK be a STR FTH build and the abyss be pure dark caster INT FTH so I might still use two separate characters, but good to know.
If you want to be a real dickass mirror squire, reserve one of the attunement slots for Warmth, since it works on LGK as well.
DeS>Ds1>BB (its a souls game like it or not)>Ds3>Ds2
Join Chaos covenant, work on leveling that up for a while, eventually you'll gain access to a hidden passage that will allow you to alter his fate.
That is, if you aren't already too late.
Rhea and Petrus will sell to you regardless of your faith stat.
However to get the sunlight spear miracles from the Warrior of Sunlight covenant you need a minimum of 25 faith to join, but you can lower it by 5 for each boss you help kill when you're summoned as a phantom.
Either level up in the chaos covenant by giving the fair lady 30 humanity and opening the shortcut, or if you have the poison mist pyromancy you can go up to the shorcut wall and breath the poison through the wall. You'll know when you kill the sunlight maggot since it drops 100 souls and the others only drop like 30
>Join Darkmoons in DaS1
>Unable to invade any sinners
>Join Blue Sentinels in DaS2
>Unable to invade any sinners or help any invaded players
Why is it that every time FROM makes a police covenant, it never fucking works?
that sounds like a blast, I've always wanted to make a character specially for that but I took a long break from das2 so never got around to it, I hope I can make all these characters before das3, probably going to take 100hrs just to get them all set up
but actually it's because few people actually kill npcs more than once for quick armor sets or after they do it on accident and learn not to, DaS2 is easier with the poison auras but still not very common
Because connectivity is a bitch and players aren't playing properly. Most people try to duel when invaded rather than engage in a pitched battle for survival, meaning by the time the cop could connect, the fight is already over.
Invaders also tend to make sure that they can't be invaded in their own worlds.
>I hope I can make all these characters before das3, probably going to take 100hrs just to get them all set up
I suffer from the same kind of problem. Been saving up for Bloodborne Station and Bloodborne itself, but damn, now when it's less than 3 months till DaS3 release I really don't think it's worth it, maybe another time.
the more I'm looking into this the more a pain it seems
what sort of character do I even want to build for this? I've never done a faith build, and if I need 25 I may as well use some of 'em but I have no fuckin' clue.
>Be in the Way of Babies in 2
>At Heide's doing some duels
>Guy bows, we duel for a bit
>Suddenly police sirens blaring
>Police brutality as the Drangleic County Sheriffs Department backstabs the dindu red
>Use mock gesture as the red fades out
