Immediately change your allegiance to whoever that fucker's at war with. Take the father's lands. Take the suitor's lands. Take the lands of their kin. Capture all of them personally and leave them to rot in the castles they once ruled.
npcs will pike brace if they're holding a pike and not in a formation mod (ie PBOD, VC formations, etc) and standing still
if you use the WFAS formations they'll brace though
also any troop using a crossbow, musket, or pistol will crouch when standing still

At shorter range yes. At longer range the Vaegir Marksmen are much more accurate and thus more deadly. With formations AI skirmishing on the Marksmen will shred people a new one
I've used both Veigar Marksmen and Sharpshooters as my primary ranged unit, and Sharpshooters perform better every time. They get more kills and also survive sieges a lot more often.

no they aren't
in native all ranged weapons besides thrown have 99% accuracy as base, but crossbows have higher missile speeds than bows so the only difference is crossbows will do more damage than bows over distance

I found 1257 to be a huge disappointment considering its map size and always thought it was wasted potential, I would really look forward to someone who can make it fun to play.
it's mainly just items and troop stuff
for a mod as big as 1257 it had a shockly small amount of weapon variety, and the balance was kind of fucked up
so i added a bunch more weapons and weapon types, as well as rebalancing equipment and adding a couple new troops
it was a personal project that i started working on 2 years ago and i just slowly added more stuff, it's also how i learned how to mod

i was going to do a slinger thing a while ago but due to something script related in 1257, units can't spawn with muskets/pistols (which is what you have to use as a base for slings) in regular battles, no idea why

Anyway, Blood & Gold has a 3D map, though the game comes with new problems, though I haven't played in a bit. If you owned Caribbean, then you got Blood & Gold for free.

Anyone else get stutters when they increase the battle size to lets say above 200-300?
I'm using Tocan's calradia and it stutters whenever i try to increase the battle size, even on custom battle, but if i open native and try a custom battle with 200 vs 200 i don't get stutters, any of you know how to fix?

I don't understand the problem you're having.
I'm using the latest release of FLoris and the only thing you have to do is change the Arena you want to use from the Tournament Design Panel where you can choose for each city individually what arena do you want to use and the chance of certain weapons to be given to randomly generated competitors.
Maybe you just didn't know this panel existed.

I did that and to no avail, if i play a custom battle of 200 vs 200 in native i get 45 fps but stutter free, i do that in tocans calradia and its a mini stutter every second, fucking annoying bro.
Them's the break anon. Only other solution I can think of is to upgrade your components if you're using a slightly toasted toaster or be comfortable with company sized battles.

It starts sperging out and scripts start to fail if you set BattleSizer anywhere over 300.
You should reduce it to that quantity and conform to 150 vs 150.

What I do is I use all of the new arenas, but using the native weapon appearance load chances.
If you are competing in the arena in Sargoth will all of the trees no one will be given a horse and it's practically a melee fight, like >>128521751's image shows.
But if you're competing in somewhere else like Yalen (where there is more space for horses to run) the item sorting will change.

And as to your question, 1866 for the original Mount & Blade remains the best western mod. Read the OP/pastebin on how to get the original for free if you own Warband.

I imagine it can be done, but I personally would find it boring. Also, I don't think M&B is a click-intensive kind of game, but otherwise you could try a macro, like an AHK, so you can do the clicking by pressing something in your keyboard instead with your better hand and use your mouse to roll the camera around only, unless you have carpal tunnel in both hands.
it feels good to lead as a commander but after a while you get the urge to get off the horse and charge in with your infantrymen, that's an even better feeling.

from what i was told tournaments don't work and it has lots of script errors or something, i don't think it'll ever be fixed any time soon though the anon is working on it though
You forgot the textures and probably the materials as well.
If you don't want to mess with coefficient and specular rgb values then just ctrl+c the original materials and textures from the source brf and then ctrl+v on the brf you're adding the items to.
Also don't make a habit of adding meshes/materials/texture in a brf that you'll end up not using, it increases the module loading time and do make a habit of checking the rgl_log.txt in the main warband folder as it tells ya if you're missing textures or other errors. You have to start a module first and then open the rgl_log for it to show info.
Quick question. How well do khergit lancers fare in melee? Because I decided to conquer some horsefucker cities to start off my faction, but I can't quite tell if a city with 70 lancers in it just seems tough or if it would actually be a pain to take over. Mostly use nord troops. I assume the huscarls will chew through them, but I'm not sure.
I have, like, 8 crossbowmen.
My current army is yours truly, 8 companions with the gear and skills equivalent of swadian men at arms, 30 huscarls, 13 veterans, 15 warriors, 8 swadian skirmishers and a bunch of nord footmen cannon fodder. Grand total of 102.
I managed to conquer Praven with fewer.
Soooooooooooo, I should probably get more huscarls and crossbowmen, then.

In my very personal opinion and experience I spent most of my time in Gekokujo (with Suguroku submod for added diversity); Gekonew (with a personal mod that adds some items from suguroku) and Floris (all features, native troops). My single favorite between these three would be Gekonew
I'd say the most essential is Diplomacy+PBOD
Either Diplo+PBOD or try out the newest version of Freelancer since it comes with Diplo and PBOD.
Now if by expanded you mean more items and troops, then either Floris or Tocan's Caldria.

geko is fun but it's pretty bland, it basically devolves to: spear infantry, gunners/bowmen, officer infantry, officer cavalry
it's fun but there's a severe lack of troop variation though that's the case in VC too but it still has more troop types

Talk to lords and ask them to pledge allegiance to ya. Though for them to defect you have to have high relations with lords, have decent RTR (about 20 or 25?) and always use the same reason you want them to join.
Having high persuasion skills counts, but not really required since you NEED max lvl 10 persuasion for it to really make a difference.

there are 3 ways
-convince them to join you, you talk to them, ask to talk in private, ask about the king, if they're negative you have a chance to make them switch sides
-capture the lord and talk to him when he's your prisoner, you need a high relations for that, I think 20 or 25, AFTER all the capturing/attacking him penalties
-they'll just appear in your court every now and then when thrown out of their own country

Fear that it will take away from the single-player experience. Multiplayer for Warband is popular, and some people think Multiplayer is the best thing about Warband. Captain Lust is also very obvious of his bias towards the multiplayer community, and he's the only voice we have with the devs.
Personally, I would be happy with more blogs or screenshots, but instead I just get Captain Lust posting about a new Warband tournament.
It's kinda obtuse, especially when you're first starting out. Basically though, you use F to do most any object interactions such as buying/selling/opening/closing, and what action you do can depend whether you're holding something or not
You can join factions which can take over castles and shit, its all on one map, just a really big map. You can earn money through making weapons, armor, tools, and supplies for your faction, or by scavenging battlefields and selling what you steal off the dead. I like that part a lot.
Another thing I dig about this mod is your factions can siege other factions and shit. Like, if you are the craftsman class you can build siege ladders and towers and shit.
Only problem is sometimes it attracts people who are waaaaaay to into roleplay.
Any new actions or so? Does it have upstab with spears already installed? Cause if it doesn't I'm slightly worried it might not play nicely when you add upstab.
there's a new tournament system where you can tweak the amount on how many men to fight, what side you want to be on, even pick what weapon you want & if you want to ride a horse.

no, you'll have to take that up with the dev
Shit like your gold is client side, and you can deposit it in banks where no one can get it. Some people will often try to rob you on the roads between towns or if they think no one is looking.
But all your personal equipment+ the horse you are riding gets saved when you log off. You log on and its all still on you. Though obviously you lose it if you die, but this isnt ark, your body and horse disappear when you log off.
And anyone can take over a castle, and anyone can switch factions pretty easily. There is even a convenient commoner class if you want to go solo or if you need to change factions while yours is at war.
So you don't really lose anything if you aren't online. It plays pretty fucking well, if I'm gonna be honest, but there needs to be a little more incentive for the lower classes. Like one server gives you crazy extra money if you craft 10 of something, and the top tier millitary classes can craft for shit, so I think thats a nice bonus. I usually roll around as a doctor or one of the classes that is a hybrid peasant/millitary, like huntsman or millitiaman

And your factions stockpiles are tied to the castle they are made in. So if your castle gets taken over, the stock count won't change or anything.
In the end, anything you make will net you more than enough gold to make up for anything you might lose. Just gotta be mindful to deposit often

All of the current servers are shit with shit admins. The game was better before banks were introduced. The playerbase has gone way downhill and the mod just isn't what it used to be.

It devalued money. The economy became meaningless. People would stockpile hundreds of thousands or even millions of gold. It essentially made it so that you could join a server and instantly get top tier gear and class training, whereas before you would have to work up from the bottom. Before banks were added you didn't lose all your gold on death or on leaving the server either, you only lost a tiny percentage, so it's not like you had to start fresh every time.
Anyway, one of the effects this has was that the oldfags who were running around with millions of gold just fucked around the entire time, as they had nothing else to motivate them. This in turn caused most of the old players who weren't faggots to leave and caused any decent new players to leave also. That's how the playerbase became shit.
Reminder that holding F1 in battle brings up a flag you can place anywhere on the map to tell your troops where to hold position, making it infinitely easier than actually running there and ordering them to hold or mashing move 10 paces repeatedly.

How do I stop the faggot AI from spamming sieges for enough time for me to bring a garrison over ? It doesn't matter if i defeat the siegeing armies these fuckers just keep coming back with ~30 troops and being a nuisance
you'll have to leave enough troops in the garrison to make it a loss for the AI no matter how they slice it
higher leveled troops helps a lot more than low level ones. You'll usually have a day or two from the start of besieging before they actually attack it, so unless your extra troops are super far away you shouldn't have trouble.
That won't do me much good i can only carry around 90 troops and have captured like 2 cities and 2 castles in a sieging frenzy thanks to the power of Huscarls

Capture enemy lords and don't take the ransom when it's offered to you.
Every enemy lord in your dungeon will be an army they can't deploy on the field. Plus, if you capture their king and their marshall their lords won't be able to band together to defend their realm and will be easier to pick off one by one.
The negative outcome of this is that your honor is gonna plummet through the floor if you continue denying ransoms for too long.
And yes, if you try to defend all of those poorly garrisoned fiefs at once you're gonna lose them all.
There's a reason why 'He who tries to defend everything defends nothing' is a saying.
different anon here. I do this and it's pretty effective at stopping huge stacked parties appearing every week, if you don't care about honor the other downside is you lose all that ransom dosh when the sudden peace offer comes up.

why the fuck isn't my archers shooting?
...i don't understand. they have a clear line of sight and a full quiver. yet they're just standing there like idiots while enemy archers are turning us into pincushions
is this a bug or what?
so i retreated and tried attacking the castle again. only this time i station my archers on a flatter terrain. this time it works
does this have anything to do with sloped terrain somehow? i remember getting a similar situation like this before.
(it was on that one rhodok/swadian castle on the edge of a cliff idk)
It's going to have modding like TES. So you can have new weapons or Diplomacy with just a tick on a mod manager, instead of having to do a bunch of bullshit work yourself, or having to hope that a module includes them.
well i'm guessing that's the case, but as you can see on that pic, the shieldwall position shouldn't block their vision THAT much
idk though, i mean, i know huscarl's shields are ridiculously huge but come on
