I never heard about that one either
Are you all people just baiting or did CDPR legitimately ever announced this shit?
> tfw you will never have your own personal pet
> tfw you will never name her yennefer
bookfags, was Ciri genuinely in love with Mistle or was it just a case of stockholm syndrome?
was Mistle really into her, or was she just taken advantage of younger, hotter girl?
Anyone else got mad that they gave Eskel chubby babbyface in TW3 instead of the badass one he had in TW1?
It was closer to the books as well.
TW3 Phil has better boobs but TW2 Phil has better face.
That, or he visited face surgeon in order to fix his scar, but he ran out of orens and could only afford a cheap one.
I will never understand why they gave her pigtails when she was always described to have long, loose hair.
because the only person with long loose hair in tw2 was geralt, everyone else either has pretty shit tier non-animated hair. probably because of some engine issue or just out of laziness
That is what I was thinking but geez, they could have given her a more regal and sophisticated hairstyle than stupid pigtails. She looks like a high school girl.
yeah it really was a weird design decision, the pigtails just look really out of character. some braided bun with pearls or whatever would have looked way better.
also the pic you posted looks hot, if only it was possible to mod that hair in...
I agree, a bun would be perfect for her.
I know, fingers crossed modders will someday deliver.
Philippa's DLC when??
Geralt should be able to romance Ciri, they are not related by blood and that is the only thing that matters, she would clearly spread her legs for him, and is much better than any filthy sorceress.
This game should be about player choice, so you purists out there wouldn't be forced to do it anyway, it makes much more sense for them to be together, there is clearly attraction between them. Plus we should have more fuckable females, Tomira and Rosa van Attre are missed opportunities, also a bangable succubus, Cerys and much more...
>press (x) to woo the qt noblewoman
>press (y) to transform into a snowy owl
>press (a) to make a bitchy comment
>Solve succession crisis on the Skellige Islands
>Jarl of Ard Skellige gifts me ancient familial blade as a sign of his undying gratitude
>It's not as good as my upgraded Griffon sword so I pawn it off to literally the first merchant I come across to free up weight in my inventory
>Start thinking about what I just did an hour later
holy shit I feel like an asshole
This tbqh. There's also one thing the bookfags never mention: Ciri was jealous of Yennefer in the books because she stole Geralt away from her. She obviously lusted after that witcher dick, it's just that as a cuck Geralt never took advantage of that. The game really should have fixed that imho.
>Fuck off faggot
You fuck off purist with your pathetic moral values, no blood relation, no incest, it's simple. Ciri is grown up now, she and Geralt haven't seen each other in a while and they haven't spent that much time together anyway, so it wouldn't be strange at all if they are attracted to each other.
Geralt should remain a lone witcher, my Geralt banged Keira before killing her, lied to that whore Triss that he loved her before banging her, did the same with that bitch Yennefer, the only thing missing is a revenge mission for that threesome shit they pull of. I also banged all the hookers, Sasha, Yuta, Shani and I want more whores in the next expansion. It should at least have 3-5 bangable options to make up for the lackluster main game.
As long as they are not related by blood, they could bang if they both wanted. There is nothing wrong with that, and many people had done that throughout history. It is obvious that Ciri wants Geralt, and I doubt he would say no, so yes there should be an option for that romance. If you don't like that you simply wouldn't choose it.
>I don't think CDPR even considered that.
They made a mistake.
>Jesus christ what's wrong with you?
I don't care for objective morality much, so your purist view don't bother me. Like I said, if you don't like it, then don't choose it. In a game heavily based on player choice, romancing Ciri should be an option, I'm sure many people would choose her over immature Triss and bitchy Yen.
>The ghosts of Rozrog must have had enough affairs previous night, as they showed no signs of life. There was only one exception, in the form of skeleton wearing remainings of a shroud, who suddenly appeared behind Agloval, Mousehunt and Freixenet's backs. The prince, baron and druid however were so deeply absorbed by a discussion about politics, that they didn't even notice the spectre. Skeleton got very upset by this lack of attention, moved around the table and snapped its teeth at Triss Merigold. The sorceress, snuggled tenderly against the arm of Eskel from Kaer Morhen, raised her graceful hand and snapped her fingers. The dogs took care of the bones.
The whole TW3 was disappointing in the sex area, they said 16 hours of sex motion capture was made, I ask where the hell is it? Rehashed scenes, shaved pussies(really in 13th fucking century), less explicit, angles that hide the action, they censured their game not to upset uptight purists and feminists, they falsely advertised it. I thought it was a game for mature crowd and I get this, shame on you CDPR.
But it turned out my amnesia changed nothing, I wanted to be with you before, during, after, always. - Geralt of Rivia
Whenever I see the beam of the lighthouse, I feel good, thinking of you. - Geralt of Rivia
You are clearly all fucking waifu fags, no wonder they made the romance the way they did, instead of getting more mature sex scenes we get this shit that belongs in a movie made for desperate middle-aged housewives.
Geralt loves Triss, she adores him, happiness in Kovir is guaranteed.
Geralt has a new family now.
Fucking fags with your waifus, go get laid in real life assholes. What's the point of your dumb arguments, fag A will continue to choose Triss and fap to her, fag B will continue to choose Yennifer and fap to her, could you be more pathetic? Kill yourselves.
it was rape that turned into Stockholm Syndrome. Just as it was starting to lift they all got killed and now Ciri remembers it wrong out of survivor's guilt. Ciri's pretty fucked up.
Philippa and Letho look good in TW3. It's Roche and Triss that got fucked up.
>TW2 Phil is clearly bustier though. Also the old outfit is sexier.
The only difference is those long glove things.
Women change their hairstyle sometimes.
Also this >>128466778
Phil pulls it off on sheer charisma tbqh
I'm haunted by the kiss you should never have given me. My heart is beating, hoping that that kiss will not become a scar. - Triss Merigold
How hard up are you? Just watch some porn or Game of Thrones or something. I'd tell you to get laid but...y'know.
I doubt Istredd would take her back and Yennefer never really loved him in the first place. He's her Essi.
This art encapsulates that sequence better than anything I've ever seen.
Ves coped with the rape pretty well actually. Probably because she was older and more stable when it happened.
Am I the only one that dislikes Triss but thinks her VA is fine? Not as good as the others, sure. But it's more or less how I imagined Triss sounding. There's a reason most people don't take her seriously.
>it was rape that turned into Stockholm Syndrome. Just as it was starting to lift they all got killed and now Ciri remembers it wrong out of survivor's guilt. Ciri's pretty fucked up.
yeah, ciri must think that everyone she loves and/or is about to have sex with must die out of some twisted curse. when she realized chubby neckbeard died, she must've been thinking, 'geez, again?'.
Dark and rainy night, reconciled Triss Merigold prepares to leave and never see Geralt again.
She loves him, but she is sure he will choose his former lover Yennefer. To her surprise he opens up and shares his real feelings. She is swept away at first, but decides to embrace the moment. They spend a beautiful night together, a night that proved Triss Geralt's love is real. Nothing will ever be able to separate them again, true love has won.
I wonder what would happen if for some strange reason the Rats crossed path with Geralt's hansa. Would a fight ensure? Would Ciri recognize Geralt? Would Geralt approve of her new mates (we know he wouldn't...)?
Out of curiosity what is everyones favorite witcher school/gear? I honestly like the Cat School's gear because of speed.
Fight would ensue. Ciri would freeze up traumatize and have a breakdown. It would be very dramatic.
Doug Cockle is a failed hollywood actor and one of the worst VAs in the cast tbqh
>Knowing shit about their characters
Pretty rare outside theater. They just do what the directors tell them.
Geralt and Ciri make an excellent couple, they have more in common than Geralt and the filthy sorceress's. Ciri is young but mature enough, and Geralt has also been with Shani who is was younger than Ciri at that time. Geralt could teach her about love and sex and they could be witchers together killing monster all over the world.
They have this placeholder in Maribor so if they decide to do anything after blood and wine it most likely will be there.
She doesn't have a thing for him anymore than any other daughters that love their fathers have for them.
>and what he does should be up to the player
Not really, no. Makes for a shitty story if the player decides Geralt should marry Roche and become Queen of Temeria, for instance.
>so their romance makes perfect sense, she is not his real daughter anyway.
That's not how normal human psychology works.
Might be but im not so sure since its so far behind the front for the scoiatel... then again he didn't really care too much for nilfgaard hence why he was helping saskia. Anyway its just a placeholder that showed up for a few people after the patch its not official so we'll see.
>She doesn't have a thing for him anymore than any other daughters that love their fathers have for them.
She definitely does, the ways she looks and hugs him goes beyond the love for her father.
>Not really, no. Makes for a shitty story if the player decides Geralt should marry Roche and become Queen of Temeria, for instance.
No it doesn't, and your example is extreme, Geralt and Ciri being together is completely plausible.
>That's not how normal human psychology works.
It's not like they spend their life together, they were separated most of the time, Geralt was more of a mentor than a father to her, and it is normal for her to feel attracted to him now that she is grown up.
>Might be but im not so sure since its so far behind the front for the scoiatel
The Scoia'tael don't have a front, they're guerrillas.
>Anyway its just a placeholder that showed up for a few people after the patch its not official so we'll see.
They don't make things like that for no reason. It may be scrapped and never revisited, but it was intended at some point.
>She definitely does, the ways she looks and hugs him goes beyond the love for her father.
>No it doesn't,
Has Brochefaggotry gone too far?
>It's not like they spend their life together, they were separated most of the time, Geralt was more of a mentor than a father to her, and it is normal for her to feel attracted to him now that she is grown up.
And also a sexual deviant.
Tell me about your homelife. What was your relationship with your parents like?
Ciri is war, fire, and terror, daughter of Chaos, embodiment of death and vengeance etc etc
>Don't they usually fight the northern kingdoms?
Yes but things have changed a lot since the Second Northern War. They don't serve Nilfgaard anymore, at least not intentionally. Now they're more fighting for survival or revenge than any hope of victory. And even with that wasn't the case, small mobile commandos often went very roundabout routes in the fight out of necessity.
>Wouldn't they be further north messing with their supply lines?
Maybe they're messing with Nilfgaard's supply lines? Iorveth hates them, Saskia would not want their victory.
>Tell me about your homelife. What was your relationship with your parents like?
I killed my father and fucked my mother, but that's irrelevant.
You are clearly limited in your perception, your puritan morals are holding you back, Geralt and Ciri are not a classic family in any sense, they spend maybe a few months together, and Ciri is 23 or something, them being a couple is completely plausible and should have been included in the game. I am sure more people would choose Ciri over Y/T, if only they've been given a choice.
If you're into that, yeah.
>I killed my father and fucked my mother, but that's irrelevant.
Any siblings? A girlfriend? Ever been attacked by Erinyes?
>tfw Ciri passes a hunchbacked monster on the road and slays it
>As it dies the curse is lifted and she sees it's her beloved mother Yennefer
>tfw she then gets possessed by Falka in her grief and rapes Geralt
Iorveth originally had a whole quest line in the game that got cut later in development as they ran out of time. The story he was in eventually became the Hearts of Stone expansion after heavy modification.
>Any siblings? A girlfriend? Ever been attacked by Erinyes?
Yeah, resort to that, since you can't present any real arguments for your case other than, he is her father, that's bad. Fact is Geralt ISN'T her biological father and he didn't spend that much time with her. Ciri sees him as a man, not a father, she never calls him dad or something, their relationship can easily turn into romance, and you wouldn't be forced to choose that if you are so against it, but many people would love that.
I want the Great Old Memes to return /wtc/
You can form a typical RPG adventuring party of six from a set of protagonists from The Witcher books and games. Who do you choose? Consider party cohesiveness as well as adaptability and raw power.
>Party Face/The Leader: Saskia
>Rogue/Lockpicker/Trap Disarmer: Iorveth
7/10. Good choices but Nenneke's old age will slow the part, and Philippa's presence disrupts party cohesiveness. Mine:
>Party Face/The Leader: Cahir
>Tank/Fighter: Siegfried of Denesle
>Rogue/Lockpicker/Trap Disarmer: Ewald Borsodi
YenxCiri is a much better incest pairing than GeraltxCiri desu senpai
I'm pretty sure Triss is a better healer than Keira and that Keira is a better fighter than Triss. Otherwise pretty good although Foltest constantly trying to fuck all the women in the group might cause problems. 8//10
Cahir seems too inexperienced and beta to command a group with such strong personalities. Marti would be easily distracted and prone to nausea. The rest is okay, didn't play the DLC so no idea who this Ewald guy is.
>he's memeing, if the Oedipus statement didn't tip you off
You are a moron, I answered ironically to stupid question, people here are such idiots they can't accept that someone has a different opinion then them and automatically assume "memeing'.
>Someone post the pre-W3 version for this newfag. You know, the one with "Letho did nothing wrong" and "oiled hinge".
>calling me a newfag
I made the image you're talking about on /v/, newfag. But time marches on. The memes I posted are aging now.
Cahir isn't that young and has command experience. He's also quite cool under pressure and would know when to yield to advice from his subordinates and when not to.
Phil might look like she would cause problems but this time the group is 100% behind the Lodge plans, so she has no reason to deceive them. Remember she worked very well with Saskia. Again we don't know old Nenneke really is but we know for sure she's very experienced and skilled, and she will usually stay in the back and cast defensive/healing spells.
Switch Keira and Triss' places and it's a very well-rounded group.
>you do not only have mucous membranes in the mouth and nose, little rat.
What did he mean by this?
Triss - immature weak manipulating whore
Yennefer - selfish bitch with a domination complex (perfect for a brutal rape)
Keira - nymphomaniac spoiled slut with a rotten soul(Rad did her good)
Shani - naive inexperienced nerd
Ciri - perfect for Geralt
The Leader: Dijkstra (100+ to charisma and cunning, not much of a fighter but give him a pole weapon and he'll do.
Mage: Philippa, arguably one of the best and most versatile mages, also can turn into a owl and provide air support
Ranger: Milva, OP archer
Healer: Triss, great healer and good with defensive spells, not much of a fighter so she would stay behind the front line
Fighter: Saskia, thanks to her dragon's blood she is far stronger and has better endurance than any men, plus in case of desperate situation she can turn into the dragon and nuke everyone
Rogue/Spy: Dandelion, he must've picked some locking skills. Also could do the talking or scouting since no one suspects him of anything.
Thinking about buying this game, since I'm lonely as fuck:
How's the romance in this game?
Can you be a family man(have children where you actually see them)
Can you cheat on your waifu and kill your family to make a family with another woman?
Pretty top tier group but in case Phil or Saskia go down and Milva is forced to fight in close combat, there aren't any fighters. Dandelion cannot fight, same for Sigi, and Triss pull off Sodden and run unless we talk about game Triss in which case she would simply faint.
Is Yarpen that strong? I think Zoltan is a better pick for a tank given he'd had that sword he later gave to Geralt. Marti is more of a healer than a mage.
>Triss pull off Sodden and run unless we talk about game Triss in which case she would simply faint
The Womyn Team
Tank: White Rayla
Lots of bitchiness and nymphomania but then you have no bs girls like Milva and Rayla who gets shit done.
Ah shit, just now I've noticed I can only bring six.
Kick out Dandelion and Regis then, he's too OP anyway and could take literally any role in the party except for ranger and mage.
well done, this is my fav team
this makes me wonder why the witchers are not taught archery. you would think it'd be easier and faster to kill monsters using a bow/crossbow
Not sure if Saskia and Philippa would get along with each other, until it takes place before events of TW2. Also, Milva probably wouldn't stand Phil's character.
Segfried and Cahir working together? No chance, until it is "for the greater good" mission
Same as above
They would kill eachother before even setting off.
>Same as above (I guess about Saskia, Philippa and Milva not getting along)
There's no time/setting limit, and given Milva is dead in the games lore, I placed it right before the games. As we have seen in TW2, Saskia and Phil are in good terms as long as their aims are similar. Also, one conversation with Saskia strongly suggests our dragon lady knows how cunning Phil is, so she's not that naive, either. As for Milva, she would enjoy a good banter with Phili but Saskia + Triss + Dandelion would provide the necessary stability and fun while Sigi keeps everyone in check.
>Also, one conversation with Saskia strongly suggests our dragon lady knows how cunning Phil is, so she's not that naive, either
Still waiting for the reveal of Philippa's deepest secret that would destroy her in instant.
>and Triss pull off Sodden and run unless we talk about game Triss in which case she would simply faint.
Triss grew something resembling a spine at the very end. She's no close quarters fighter though.
>Is Yarpen that strong?
Yes, and well equipped. They fought dragons.
Unless she has a daughterfu that she gave up for adoption, I fail to see what could it be.
So you want everyone to die?
This is even worse. That team would be murdering itself inside 15 minutes.
Iorveth would by the end of TW2.
> tfw you realize how similar Cerys and Saskia are
I could see them working fairly well. Sile's too autistic and nerdy to cause problems Lodge style. In case she does, however, you can always pick Rita instead.
>Segfried and Cahir working together? No chance, until it is "for the greater good" mission
I thought that was assumed.
>Also, one conversation with Saskia strongly suggests our dragon lady knows how cunning Phil is, so she's not that naive, either.
I think being mind controlled tipped her off.
she is deeply in love with Saskia and desperate for her approval :3
I know you were joking, but this explanation could be believable enough, A) so Saskia could deduce it, B) so we could buy that Phil really feels that.
Anything really doesn't stick. C'mon, we are talking about a woman who survived having her eyes gouged out and lived for 300 years mastering her political/scheming skills.
You got the feels ending brah
Geralt is dead if you get that ending
According to CD PROJEKT, Blood and Wine will be better than the main game.
Szamalek points out the Wild Hunt's lack of a charismatic enemy, saying they've made a unique and memorable opponent for Blood and Wine. He also mentions that they've created a complex story that they believe players will appreciate.
Any idea who the main villain would be?
They already outdid themselves with pic related. Hard to see them top that
This might be the OP group of any posted. I could see them very well taking on Vilgefortz on their own.
Plot twist: Visenna is from Nilfgaard? Anyway, top tier party.
Apparently this is how Sile was meant to look in TW3.
Damn, those Redanian tortures are harsher than I thought!
Actually Sheala in the books was described to look exactly like Iris.
Some news about blood&wine
Can anyone explain me how did TW1 gather so many good reviews, but now suddenly everyone claim it's shit?
Just casual Ameridumb faggots?
>Do you doubt leadership abilities of Temerian Special Forces commander and magical abilities of Merigold's Hailstorm caster?
>guy that got his entire unit killed and fucked up a long term intelligence project he himself devised with Foltest
>Sorceress whose greatest achievement was an accident, and even that was in tandem with another sorceress
Yeah, I do.
It makes sense that the kind of person that would get the bad dad ending wouldn't understand that they just saw Geralt commit suicide.
Switch Yaevinn and Iorveth.
>According to CD PROJEKT, Blood and Wine will be better than the main game.
After Hearts of Stone, I don't doubt it. I just hope they do an Enhanced Edition to make the main game better at some point.
>Any idea who the main villain would be?
Probably a completely original character
>Meanwhile Yennefer should be five foot tall yet she looks pretty tall to me.
She wears giant heels and levitates in cutscenes.
Visenna is a druid? Did I miss something?
Sile clearly got really into the sorceress thing after joining the Lodge. Keira and Philippa probably helped her develop her fashion sense.
I never noticed until the expansion that he vanishes while talking to Geralt there.
I did. He made an impression.
yeah I'm still looking for said potion. Keira disappeared. I spent too many points on the bomb and aard ones I don't want anymore.
I usually quen up and spam fast attacks. might be fun to try a crossbow or bomb build though considering quen spam + dodge + slash spam seems very noob proof.
I'm playing on blood and broken bones since it's my first witcher and I never end up liking "normal" in games.
this game is addicting.
who else ornate robe here
This scene gave me the creeps, in a good way.
Yes Roache and Ves just get really pissed if hes there
Why didn't they make Shani cutier and younger?
>>Triss - immature
>She is like 35-40 old
I think that's his point. She's middle aged by normal human terms but acts like a college girl.
>She is the most loyal among all witches to Geralt.
>should I focus on only fast attacks or maybe do a fast attack/quen hybrid?
Maxed quen talents are op as fuck in any build.
>which white skills are worth getting?
Pretty much just the witcher armor ones. The day regen one is a trap choice, it's an insignificant amount of regen.
Crossbow is worthless. Bomb build can be good depending on difficulty level, but is kind of bad on NG+ because its damage doesn't scale to high level enemies.
is leveling Aard good? if Quen makes the game too easy (which it seems like it does with just the default one), I want to focus on another branch like Aard or bombs alongside fast attacks. I'd use the armor ones but I'm constantly changing pieces.
>is leveling Aard good?
Good but not OP good. It's situational, like all the non-Quen signs. Hybridizing too much is kind of penalized right now, although that's obviated on NG+ or as the expansions allow for more levels and talent points. But a bit of hybridizing is fine.
>He did nothing wrong
He did all wrong - he is a renegade witcher.
But killing him won't solve anything and there aren't many witchers left. That's why I don't kill witchers at all wether its cat school or viper
Just beat Heart of Stone.
That was a very bitter sweet ending. I didnt take the violet rose from Iris and saved Olgierd, so I guess its possible they could find each other again and fix their shattered lives.
Dont know how to feel really. Felt like the worst already happened before I even got their.
Crones are weak. Imerlith alone was more powerful then all three Crones.
The Wild Hunt on the other hand is very powerful in full strength. O'Dimm probably couldnt beat them outright.
>O'Dimm probably couldnt beat them outright.
we're talking about evil incarnate who can stop time if he feels like it he can kill anyone he wants but he would not gain the souls which is why he does contracts, therefore if he felt like it he could kill the wild hunt.
>>Ladies of the Woods - start Trails of Treats
This is the best way.
O'Dimm. He's almost omnipotent.
>Crones are weak. Imerlith alone was more powerful then all three Crones.
No he wasn't. They only kowtowed to him because of his link to the Wild Hunt and the Aen Elle. And even then they planned to betray him on the Sabbath.
>O'Dimm probably couldnt beat them outright.
Did you miss the part where he can freeze time, fly, conjure powerful creatures from unknown universes, cast tremendously powerful curses...and all of it using a form of magic no one even recognizes? A man went blind just from fucking reading about him.
>Dont know how to feel really. Felt like the worst already happened before I even got their.
Saved one guy's soul. That's something.
>How? I beat her nightmares. The only thing now should be her dreams of the past
She's trapped in limbo forever now.
>Besides, now she and Olgierd have a chance to meet again.
No there isn't. She's a dead woman in a painting.
Let me tell you about mutated testicles...
>I feel like he would have more power and influence if he could just stop time without limitation.
He doesn't care about power and influence. He likes souls to torment, and games to stave off boredom. Besides, we don't exactly know the extent of his power and influence. He provided several strange and powerful demons to the Olgierd Estate on a whim, to act as a gardener and pets.
>No he wasn't.
Geralt said Imerlith was more dangerous. Thats why he went after him and sent Ciri to the Crones.
> A man went blind just from fucking reading about him.
I assumed he was a Cthulhu type alien god. Not really going to argue with you since its a pointless venture. I just think three very powerful witches and a dark lord with his spectral army could probably beat him. O'Dimm uses different methods to beat you. I dont see them fighting anyways.
Not forever. If she gives up the rose then she will move on. I felt like forcing her to move on was the wrong choice.
And Olgierd could still get into the painted world. Its not impossible. I like to think he eventually resolved it.
>Besides, he is an indirect actor. Not the type that fights you one on one.
I'm aware that he prefers to do contracts and to observe that doesn't mean he wont kill outright if you annoy him or if hes forced to.
>Wolf is not defunct.
There's four known members left, the headquarters are in ruin, there's no longer any chain of command, official organization or guild oversight, and no new witchers are being created. Most of their lore is lost.
The school is defunct. It just has a few survivors.
>Geralt said Imerlith was more dangerous.
Geralt isn't omniscient.
>I assumed he was a Cthulhu type alien god.
You don't know what this means, do you? Lovecraftian Elder Gods don't barter for souls. They don't care about humans at all. Our eradication at their hands would be an accident. There's nothing similar between them worth mentioning.
>a Cthulhu type alien god.
>A dude in heavy armor that teleports
>I just think three very powerful witches and a dark lord with his spectral army could probably beat him
Then why hasn't he been banished or killed? He's been bested once before, and it was with a word game. Not with strength or magic. It's like you didn't pay any attention at all.
> I dont see them fighting anyways.
Of course they wouldn't. It's just a dumb hypothetical.
You fucked up. Accept it.
>I wanna generate my own witcher during the pre-Witcher times
An RPG where you make your own character? Revolutionary! Why hasn't anyone captured this market niche already?
>he was a Cthulhu type alien god.
There is Cthulhu already.
He is a typical Wishmaster reference
Witcher antagonists aren't about power levels. Read a book, any book. Most stories aren't Dragon Ball Z.
>You're taking my difference of opinion as a personal attack.
No I'm not, I'm just calling you stupid because you say stupid things. Why does every retard in this thread just say "Well that's just like, your opinion, man" when someone tells them they're factually wrong?
>Witcher antagonists aren't about power levels.
>"THIS VILLIAN IS MORE POWERFUL THAN THIS OTHER VILLIAN XDDDD"
ok sure whatever. You win? Happy? You are 100% correct. I hope that makes you feel loved.
>He is a typical Wishmaster reference
You know the Crossroads Demon predates that by centuries right.
They don't do terrible against Ciri. But no, they're not likely to beat Imlerith at arm wrestling. They'd do all kinds of spooky magic instead.
Yeah it was but you resort to insults like thirty seconds into the conversation. Its both annoying and embarrassing. Dont get so worked up about "what if" fights between vidya bosses.
So powerful he doesn't have to fight. Why throw punches when you can just turn your opponent into a delicious birthday cake? Or y'know, just freeze time and jam a bomb down their throat like fucking Woody Woodpecker.
>I mean there are demons references and there is devil reference. It's not the same. O'Dimm is the Devil.
So he's Lucifer, a rebel angel that defied the all powerful Christian God? I think you're taking it a tad too literally.
I think we don't really know o'Dimm's potential.
And what's with overrating the Wild Hunt? At the end they're just tall dudes who are extremely good at magic and can teleport here and there on occasion. They look spooky and are very dangerous, but o'Dimm is presented as a next level creature.
The Wild Hunt puts a lot of effort into looking more formidable than they really are. They're very dangerous, no question, and if they could open the Gate of Worlds again Geralt's world would likely be fucked, but there's bigger fish out there. O'Dimm is one of them.
Ciri looks sad here.
>Why not? If our dimension exists as the same time as theirs?
That raises a ton of questions that the Witcher universe will likely never get to, and in a way that makes the setting worse. I mean, is Jehovah real and everyone in the Witcher setting damned for worshiping false Gods? Or is the literal incarnation of evil from another universe just taking a vacation?
Better he just remain a very powerful, mysterious malign entity.
>But Geralt would be more happy with Triss.
Nah. When the honeymoon feelings wore off she'd end up boring him. They'd probably fight a lot too. Their world views and priorities are really incompatible. Geralt is a cynical individualist, Triss is an optimistic populist. Geralt rebels, Triss conforms. Triss dreams, Geralt condemns. Plus they have few common interests. Think Geralt's going to enjoy listening to Triss's day at Tancred's court? All the petty intrigues, the political hypocrisies, the crimes of the nobles?
>is Jehovah real and everyone in the Witcher setting damned for worshiping false Gods?
I think you're taking it a tad too literally.
e.g In DnD (like Forgotten Realms setting) how does all those miscellanious deities and demigods (among them there are even greek and egypt gods) with all their own pagans and false-believers exist simultaniously with the real heaven and hell, angels and devils and All-might-God? Same way here.
Then he's not Lucifer. Just a really powerful thing with some similarities in the modus operandi.
Not something you really want your work to resemble if you care about coherent world building.
>falling for that bait
>He is an analogue of Lucifer existing in Witcher reality, ok?
In loose terms, yes, I agree. I thought you meant it literally though. I've seen a lot of people mean it that way so it's hard to tell. Though to be fair, Lucifer kind of adopted the folklore characteristics of a common archetype that predated him, in the form we see making deals at midnight at crossroads.
Im actually more like that edgy-fedora-lord in reality. Not a believer at all.
>formless fire served by winged wheels covered in eyes
What's that shit? Another spaghetti monster?
>haven't played TW3 for 4 months cause of studied
>played through all christmas break
>now studies starts all over again
>contract on the spaghetti monster
Would be similar to Zeugl contract
There is no chance for Yen and Geralt to create a stable relationship, she will probably get bored and start cucking him after a year, they will break up, Geralt will become a witcher once again and after 2 years they will try again. Repeat to the end of their lives.
>There is no chance for Yen and Geralt to create a stable relationship,
They've already done it. It was more or less paradise for them. They didn't have a care in the world, and just basked in each others' presence for who knows how long.
And besides, even if that was true...how does that help a potential relationship with Triss? How does that make those two more suitable for each other?
>They've already done it.
...and it didn't work. Why bother and return to it? Move forward.
Im absolutely ok with the idea that Yen can be an ex-wife although i read books and knew all their relationship.
>...and it didn't work.
It worked fine. They were happy together. Then the Wild Ride showed up. Granted, things were looking good before Thanedd too. So really they've established that they've grown enough to make it work twice before outside events that would strain anything intervened.
>Im absolutely ok with the idea that Yen can be an ex-wife although i read books and knew all their relationship.
Sure you did
Did I leave anyone out? I had to redo it twice when I realized I'd forgotten someone. Incidentally it made me realize just how many main characters in the series are women.
Absolutely, 100%, completely.

If you want to talk about images of God the Father, those have more to do with Near Eastern gods---they have nothing to do with Zeus.
Judaism on which Christianity is based is Semetic, not Indo-European.
The point I was making and what he was talking about, was that once Christianity spread through Greece it adopted a very Indo-European character from the people it was being preached to, as opposed to its Semitic, and therefore Afro-Asiatic origin.
>"The Nithing" mission
>herbalist bitch literally trying to kill a child over petty jealously
>choose to curse her back because she deserves it
>at the end of it Geralt acts all sad and pissy over it
What the fuck? Who wrote this quest? A woman?
>>at the end of it Geralt acts all sad and pissy over it
Geralt responds that way to everything.
>What the fuck? Who wrote this quest? A woman?
The most beta extreme feminists are usually middle or upper class white males.
Hes almost a century old of course hes going to be a grumpy old man.
>Hes almost a century old of course hes going to be a grumpy old man.
He's also a misanthropic pseudo-intellectual emo tbqh
Yeah lots of people would find that whole experience sad and disheartening. Geralt really does react that way to almost everything though.
She's betrayed the main character multiple times, is naive, flighty, overly trusting of authority, and frequently puts her desire to conform above her personal morality. She has a weak sense of self and is easily led. Her fanbase was also incredibly obnoxious immediately after TW3's release, which tends to cause some irrational hate by proxy.
I might have forgotten something, I dunno.
8-14 hours depending on how much you do and how fast you play.
True, but he was particularly acting like a huge faggot in this one. Like you just sacrificed a innocent woman in this mission or something. Click the "disown your son and wife" option and he's smug smile and everything. What gives?
WITNESS ME, BROTHERS
You can be a misanthrope and still help people. Geralt is pretty self loathing too, but he only tried to off himself the one time.
>but he always willing to help those who need it.
Always is overstating it by a lot.
>True, but he was particularly acting like a huge faggot in this one. Like you just sacrificed a innocent woman in this mission or something.
I think he's seen too much to get mad over something like this. Just sad to see his low opinion of people in general confirmed again.
>Click the "disown your son and wife" option and he's smug smile and everything.
Seriously? I've never done that. Maybe they just assumed only assholes would pick that so had Geralt be a smug prick.
When the fuck is Siegfried coming back
>I can't recall that.
>Leaked information about Ciri to Philippa Eilhart
>Warned neither Geralt or Yennefer about what was going to happen on Thanedd
>Cooperated happily with Yennefer being held against her will at Philippa's place
>Was happy to let the world and Geralt believe Yennefer was a traitor
>Refused to help save Geralt from an assassin because Philippa says so
>Helped abduct and monitor Ciri to be sold as a broodmare to Tancred Thyssen
>Lied to Geralt repeatedly when he returned with amnesia, pretended they had been in love before, initially dissuaded him from pursuing any effective cures for said amnesia and instead to do things that would help her be inserted in Foltest's court
>Refused to say anything about the Lodge even after she had every reason to believe they'd gotten a murder pinned on Geralt
>Never mentioned anything about this until captured by Nilfgaard and made to confess by Geralt
Did I miss anything guys?
Finally did it. Took awhile, but Ciri lives and all's right with the world.
The only question I have is, if Nilfgaard takes over Redania and Novigrad, will the persecution of mages and non-humans at least get somewhat better. The Nilfgaardians seem to be all about progress and civilization, so you'd think they'd put a rein on the Eternal Fire cult.
Not to mention that the way the all the other city states look at Velen as a hellish backwater are completely justified given the way they worship a bunch of monsters straight out of The Wicker Man.
>tfw you will experience Blood and Wine for the first time
He lets a few rapes and crap slide, and ignores other stuff depending on his mood and what's happening around him. I haven't read Season of Storms though. It sounds bad.
>if Nilfgaard takes over Redania and Novigrad, will the persecution of mages and non-humans at least get somewhat better.
Mages, somewhat. Though they'll basically all be highly monitored and expected to be state servants. They won't be summarily executed simply for being mages, but try to do anything on their own initiative and they may end up being drawn and quartered. Nonhumans could go either way.
> The Nilfgaardians seem to be all about progress and civilization
Every empire likes to put that image about itself out there. Don't take it at face value.
>well thats dissapointing considering I spared him in the first game
I was memeing. I don't know that he's dead, but there's a decent chance he died either fighting Nilfgaard in this war, or in the subsequent purge of the Order afterward.
>guy that got his entire unit killed and fucked up a long term intelligence project he himself devised with Foltest
Only in his path, and just because he got outsmarted in the game of spies doesn't make him bad field commander.
And Triss is a powerful sorceress regardless, as proven by first encounter with Iorveth. Also, her and Roche can cooperate together pretty well.
>He lets a few rapes
One tavern girl went with tears from store room is not the reason to butcher whole tavern screaming YOU RAAAAPISTT!!! More over in SoS book were a drunk crowd who were insulting and trying to hit some cleric-females. He was about to kick the shit out of them.
>I haven't read Season of Storms though.
Well eventually he found that psycho and broke his neck.
I guess I've got nothing better to play. I bought a PS4 so I could play Fallout 4 (I mean, I bought it now, as opposed to later, because I knew I'd buy it for FFXV and KH3 eventually), but now that I've played that, Arkham Knight and this, there's not much left. I bought FF Type-0 and AC Unity, but that was more because there was a buy 2 get one free sale (I was going to get Type-0 anyway since I'm an admitted fanboy).
>Only in his path,
Do we really know that?
>and just because he got outsmarted in the game of spies doesn't make him bad field commander.
He seems like he'd be a decent enough tactician for small unit stuff as long as he has a good underling to reign him in when he goes nuts.
>And Triss is a powerful sorceress regardless, as proven by first encounter with Iorveth
She's on the bottom end of the top tier. There's stronger to choose.
>Also, her and Roche can cooperate together pretty well.
The only interaction we really see between them is sexual harassment.
>Every empire likes to put that image about itself out there. Don't take it at face value.
It didn't seem like that was the case with Radovid or whoever was in charge of Novigrad. As far as I could see they were both fully committed to pushing the Eternal Fire and not caring about the stuff Dijkstra and the old King built up.
I think there's a better chance of seeing Iorveth again than Siegfried, and there's probably a 50/50 chance of seeing Iorveth at best. On the other hand, I really never expected to see Thaler again, so who the fuck knows.
Actually, the first time, I let him go because fighting him seemed like a pain in the ass. But then I thought about how much trouble Letho caused Geralt and thought there's no way he'd let him get away with it, even if it was just for his own personal grouse.
>It didn't seem like that was the case with Radovid or whoever was in charge of Novigrad.
Oh he was bringing civilization and progress by purging society of parasites and subversive elements like mages and scoia'tael (all nonhuman are scoia'tael collaborators) against the brutal unfeeling hordes of the south (who are themselves a race of elves).
Nilfgaard is bringing society and progress by putting mages and nonhuman in their place, establishing order, taking the governments of the unwashed barbarian Nordlings from their incapable hands, and destroying their barbaric superstitious religions (which is most of them). And by tightly controlling trade and industry, of course.
>We both know women love being grabbed by their arses.
Depends on circumstances.
She's either living with him or has little choice but to work for him. People in her position in that kind of society don't exactly have the money to just pick up and move.
Why are you so concerned that this cry was because of the rape (4chan did really spoil you kek) and not just some argument because this girl e.g. always flirt with visitors or very badly performs her duty? She is not a slave - she always can get out.
>destroying their barbaric superstitious religions
After some of the shit I saw in Velen and Skellige, I kind of agree---and this is coming from an actual religious person, no a fedora tipper.
The Velen worship of the crones is basically all about human sacrifice---what do they think happens to the war orphans they send on the trail of treats? Let them fend for themselves if you don't want to take care of them, don't send them to be eaten by witches.
Even the Skellige religion that has a lot more going for it (even the thing with Skall was a misunderstanding and they probably changed it after) is pretty messed up when you consider they let Bran's daughter burn herself to death---I don't care what they're traditions are, someone should have stopped her.
Then there's all the excesses of the Eternal Fire cult that just killed everyone who didn't fit their code rather than just expelling them if they didn't like them.
>She is not a slave - she always can get out.
Sure. Starving is always an option.
They have many, many more religious cults than those. This is a thoroughly pagan society Nilfgaardian soldiers attacked even temples of Melitele, a entirely peaceful fertility cult that provides healers and midwives.
Skellige is basically its own thing with little ties to the north or south on the continent.
The Eternal Fire cult is a relatively new phenomenon and the war is fueling its reactionary rhetoric. Plus Nilfgaard encouraged these purges and gave Radovid the excuse he needed to cause chaos and internal divisions, as well as to rob the North of its mages. So they share a great deal of the responsibility.
That part of Velen is weird and all the outsiders fear or scoff at their beliefs.
So he retconned her into a druid in one of the recent cash-ins? That's our Sapkowski!
Books are canon to the games except where directly contradicted. Games are not canon to the books. It's pretty simple really.
Also the Crone worship in Velen was recently redoubled due to all the chaos and famine the war is causing. You're seeing all this crap because Northern society is collapsing due to Nilfgaard's depradations.
The Witcher world is equivalent of what, 14th or 15th century Europe?
Why are they more backwards than the late medieval period? Because of lack Christianity-like religion, the existence of other humanoid species to compete with humans?
Radovid didn't do the burnings though, that way Hemmelfart or whoever he is. Its always really unclear though, because at one point they say Novigrad is neutral and both sides are eyeing it greedily, but they just let Radovid keep his ship in their port.
>one of the recent cash-ins?
Road Without Return appeared in "Something Ends, Something Begins" novel of short stories, which came out before he wrote the actual Saga.
Sorceresses can't have children in general, so I think he indended her to be a druid or something like that from the very beginning.
>he Witcher world is equivalent of what, 14th or 15th century Europe?
More or less, just without a lot of gunpowder.
>Why are they more backwards than the late medieval period?
In some ways they're much more advanced. Their knowledge of biology is far in excess of anything humans in the real world had until the 20th century. But the answer is because the civilization you see in the Witcher world is post-apocalyptic, founded by a bunch of refugee human colonists after the Conjunction of the Spheres.
>Radovid didn't do the burnings though, that way Hemmelfart or whoever he is.
They both are doing burnings.
>Its always really unclear though, because at one point they say Novigrad is neutral and both sides are eyeing it greedily, but they just let Radovid keep his ship in their port.
Something big happened between Act 2 and Act 3 that was never shown. It's probably cut content. I really hope an Enhanced Edition comes out at some point.
Sapkowski has said the books are entirely their own thing---that is, he doesn't view their adaptation of his work as valid in the first place. I think this is a good thing, as they're free to use or discard anything in the books as suits them (including not killing other Witchers).
So her being a sorceress is the retcon, interesting.
>Sorceresses can't have children in general, so I think he indended her to be a druid or something like that from the very beginning.
The whole reason she had Geralt was he was a surprise. She thought she was sterile. It makes too much sense that way. Besides, do we know of any druids with children?
>Consistent world building
pick one, I guess
>Sapkowski has said the books are entirely their own thing---that is, he doesn't view their adaptation of his work as valid in the first place.
Which is why the games aren't canon to the books. The books are still canon to the games, for the most part.
>as they're free to use or discard anything in the books as suits them (including not killing other Witchers).
You realize that's not a canon statement or anything. Geralt never declares "I will never under any circumstances kill a fellow witcher, for I love my calling and deeply believe in the cause of my guild.".
>More or less, just without a lot of gunpowder.
Wonder why. Lack of chemicals or Chinese to invent?
>In some ways they're much more advanced. Their knowledge of biology is far in excess of anything humans in the real world had until the 20th century. But the answer is because the civilization you see in the Witcher world is post-apocalyptic, founded by a bunch of refugee human colonists after the Conjunction of the Spheres.
I should have clarify I meant the sociological/cultural progress. You are right, their knowledge of genetics, biology and medicine is pretty advanced for a quasi-medieval society but this type of information is reserved sorely for mages. The common herbalists or healers would be hopeless if not for magic.
Sapkowski doesn't view anything that is not written in a book as a truly valid form of story telling. He's weird like that.
Dwarven and gnomish monopoly? Plus mages are far more effective than primitive guns, so less incentive to develop them.
ur takin the piss m8
Just a few centuries before the books all cities were heavily fortified due to the hostile monsters and alien races common in the world. What we're seeing now is the most prosperous they've ever been.
Late middle ages in theory, but like in all fantasy settings, late middle ages last since ever.
And they are backwards because Sapkowski is a fedora tipper and pop-historian (despite of being a Catholic) who despise middle ages. As he wrote in one of his books, "improvement of plow was the only achievement of that era".
Well in game you go around a lot of stuff that book witcher would never normaly have done. One of that is killing the dragon as well. But to make game more nonlinear you have a choice either to go the way of a true bookish Geralt-witcher or try to do your own Geralt. That's about that.
>You realize that's not a canon statement or anything. Geralt never declares "I will never under any circumstances kill a fellow witcher, for I love my calling and deeply believe in the cause of my guild.".
That's what that other poster seemed to imply.
Nevertheless, I think the games should be viewed as at least a different timeline. The author has already made his contempt for it clear, so they shouldn't feel beholden to him (and from what I understand, they aren't---for example, Avallac'h characterization is supposed to be quite different, as is the Eredin's motivation for kidnapping Ciri being to save his world rather than just use the power for his own evil ends, whatever they might be---though admittedly, I haven't read the books, so this is only what I've heard about the differences from those who have.)
Interesting question. What I found most puzzling is how Nimue's society does not differ in anything contrary to Geralt's, even though they are like, centuries apart?
I guess the world is frozen in perpetual late medieval setting, just like ASOIAF.
