Honestly, the only shit that they could improve on is shit literally none of them do. Cakes and ReiNAND only patch the ARM9, rxTools has one patch for the ARM11 that does basically nothing. The ARM11 is where games run and where you'd implement features that you can directly feel the impact of.

NTR CFW, on the other hand, only touches the ARM11. The NTR CFW developer should open-source his shit (the actual CFW part of NTR is closed-source, only the BootNTR loader is open-source) and get it integrated with existing CFW. That would be a thing to behold.

But when I format and reset menuhax/coldboot up, will I still be able to well, coldboot? Alright, So I unlinked my nands and I can't access eshop, I knew that'd happen. But The way my CtRbootmanager seems to be setup means that any opening of menuhax is basically booting over again to ctrbootmanager. Meaning I'm not able to install custom themes because it's not open in the emunand. Is there anyway to fix this?

I'm on a n3ds, 9.2x firmware. I had it working perfectly last night then it kept crashing when loading DSi icons in emunand.

I formatted the SD card today, reloaded NAND.bin into emunand, and have tried *four* different builds of rxtools. the one from October loaded into emunand once and I could see all of my icons, then never again. It's just been a constant loop of loading rxtools then watching it sit at a black screen all day.

I'm trying to install GBA games, and they didn't work right. There's just a bunch of black square icons with no name and no way to delete them through System Settings.

I'm having a pretty funky problem with my rxTools /hbg/. I can successfully run cfw and play downloaded games so no issue there. I boot into it, but it installs every single time, and if I'm in emuNAND mode it switches over to sysNAND upon exiting whatever app/game I have open at the time that isn't my hacked Health & Safety app.

Basically the only inconvenience this causes me is fear of updating my emuNAND as it can switch to sysNAND at any time. Needing to install is pretty annoying too but I can deal with that.

Why do people use fancy images for the bottom screen in home menu themes? That's where the menus are supposed to be, it doesn't look that good

POTENTIAL BREAKTHROUGH, ALSO NEED A BIT OF ASSISTANCE

So I managed to get my hands on a 64GB class 10 SD card. My previous cards were both class 4 and I theorized that DS mode might rely on NAND being a certain speed. I flashed the emuNAND with my sysNAND at the time and tried running my R4. Lo and behold the damn thing actually booted for the first time ever on emuNAND. This could obviously be because the NANDs were still linked at the time, but I'm hopeful towards the possibility that the SD speed was in fact the culprit.

Now, onto what I need assistance with: after getting the card running, naturally the next step was to inject my main emuNAND backup onto the new SD card to see if it works, which would conclusively confirm or deny the SD card speed relevance. However, after injecting it I cant seem to get emuNAND to boot anymore. I've injected two different backups and the 3DS screen hangs in a black screen after the rxTools (3.0 nightly) image. Anybody got any ideas?

OK so I basically have two folders in my Nintendo 3DS folder, one gives me all my old data but no FBI installer on the menu, and the other has only the FBI installer. Is there any way of extracting FBI out of my db and inject it into the db file that has all my old content? I ask because I'm having issues trying to just install the FBI. I have .psd file that makes it easier to do single image themes if anyone wants it.

You drop your image in then you can just use the rec marquee tool to select the top screen and copy it into the default templates. This way you don't have to manually do the spacing for the hinge.

Guide to play Virtual Console games on Cakes?

Is changing the menuhax trigger button the same as changing the boot manager trigger button?

When I was getting my system setup there was a period of time where I was only able to get into homebrew launcher by holding its button, but was never able to get into the boot manager.

I went into menuhax and set the hotkey to R, and now holding R while booting up the console gets me to the boot manager where I can select rxtools or the homebrew menu (I think also cake? Followed the retard guide)

I want the hotkey to be L again, because R is annoying to reach on O3DS while turning it on. How can I change it back without fucking up my boot manager?

Downgraded from 10.3 to 9.2 first try on N3DS, cold booting into emuNAND just fine and all is well.
