go into cakes settings and turn the option for autoboot on. You can then hold L to return to the cakes settings menu if you ever need to do that. Note that you might want to rebind your menuhax button to something other than L (though it's not required as they happen at different times in the booting process it makes things easier)

I think they need to be on both, although you can play exclusively of emuNAND. You need to install FBI over the Health & Safety app for sysNAND via the rxTools menu. After that, you need to boot CFW in sysNAND to use FBI.

svdt was working for a week until like an hour or two ago, but now when i backup my save it doesn't show up on my SD card when i pop it in the computer

whats happening? it says that it saved every time i tell it to, and it even shows the file copied onto the right side while im still using svdt, but when i take it out and put the SD on the computer its no where to be found.

okay, so you ran the firmware download batch and dropped the firmware.bin in /rxtools/sys, which is good. firmware.bin should be 3.5ish megs.
it may not hurt to re-extract the rxtools files to your sdcard, in case something fucked up there. i've never seen an error for just "installation failed", there has to be some file missing somewhere. keep your emunand, that's fine. just delete whatever rxtools files you have, and re-extract them from the archive.

After that, expand the Fat32 partition with a partitioning tool.

Some anons can play official DS carts from emuNAND and some get an error. I'm trying to find out why; please take this survey if you want to help.

I've tested out some stuff on my 3DS to see if anything affected my ability to run DS games. If you're interested in what I tried I threw it all on a pastebin because it would be too cumbersome to post. (http://pastebin.com/NdnTPtKK)

It's fine to think that. The only reason I won't argue with it being personal preference is because a lot of the things that will make Cakes objectively better are not in it yet. At this moment I'll just say that no matter what CFW you're on, you should be using Emunand9, Decrypt9, and NTR.

Alrite you seem like a reasonable person so i'll explain to you my problem.

I installed CFW /emuNAND /etc on the packed in 4GB that came in my New3DSXL. After all was said and done i have about 1.78GB free for me to use.

I read that if you want to transfer to another SD Card, you can use emuNAND9 on the 3DS to make a backup of emuNAND then restore it to a new microSD card using that program.

Problem is emunand backup file is 1.88GB, which is impossible for me to do so.

My 2 options are to use Emunand Tool on Windows, which i heard some conflicting reports about the most recent version being buggy, or two just start off fresh with a new microSD card and reinstall CFW/emuNAND etc.

What do you think i should do? pls respond

Is there any way to somehow take mii fighters from smash and put them onto the mii channel? Somewhere along the way of downgrading or creating an emunand, I fucked up and lost a bunch of sysnand data and included in that data were my miis.
Or is there some way I can retrieve this data from a sysnand backup I made before it was lost?

The way I set up my autoboot to EmuNAND, it goes from menuhax > ctrbootmanager > rxtools > emunand.

But due to how this is set up, when I launch Homebrew Launcher Loader from EmuNAND, it boots ctrbootmanager, so i have to quickly press down to hit homwbrew menu.

Is there any way I can:
(1) have my autoboot have fewer steps
(2) make Homebrew Launcher Loader launch straight to the menu? (I know this is because my boot.3dsx is for ctrbootmanager but it has to be that for my current autoboot setup)

Use Yata+, it has all the tools needed to make a Theme, including converting wav to bcstm and testing it, choosing where it loops and stuff.

What I did was first convert the untouched mp3 to wav, and convert it to bcstm to see the size.

Then I changed the audio from stereo to mono. This helps a lot and doesnt make a difference in the 3DS.

Then I cut the start and ending of the song since it was white sound.

The last thing you do is touch the hz since it affects the quality of the sound a lot.
I ended up setting for 32k.


If the sound is too low in the 3DS you might want to increase the db but dont go over 8 or it will chip the sound.

Hold Y when loading hblauncher_loader to make it save the payload to your SD card. Open the payload in a hex editor like HxD on your PC, find boot.3dsx, replace it with something like brew.3dsx (same filename length is greatly preferred). Rename your Homebrew Launcher to brew.3dsx if it isn't named that already, update your boot.cfg to match if needed.

No real way around the autoboot steps currently. It'd be nice if Menuhax could boot straight to rxTools but we're not there yet.

upgraded my emunand from 9.2 to 9.5 and now when i try to boot into emunand, it black screens

i am trying to setup six 2ds. can i move an already setup 8gb emunand sdcard with installed cias to a bigger 32gb sd card. is it possible just use the hbl program to convert the bigger card to an emunand card then use my pc to transfer all the content from the smaller card to the bigger card.

in short i just want to setup one 2ds with everything i want to put on the other five 2ds. use it as a mirror to copy all the files to the bigger sdcard from my pc, instead of having to use the slow process of using bigblueMenu to install each file individually.

it took 23 mins to install fantasy life (856MB file) from the cia file using bigblueMenu to that 8gb sdhc card.

i am guessing at minimum all 32gb cards would need to have the emunand setup on the individual 2ds that it needs to be tied to before the transfer.

also guessing it would not work for a n3ds because of the differences in firmware.

Anyone who just recently hacked their 3DS, I highly recommend getting Kid Icarus Uprising. Very fun game with good music.

I don't think there's a perfect solution for what you want.
After making the emuNAND on the new card you'll have to restore an emuNAND backup to get it to be the same emuNAND as the old card, or you'll have to use a different method for moving the stuff over. Read my FAQ: http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji
Your best bet is to just get all the CFW files you need into a folder and drag and drop to each and then go through the same setup on each 2DS. If you're okay with Cakes, my guide has a "cakepack" that you can use.

DSTT: Not recognized as being in the slot at all (works fine in DSL).

Same result for all three on both sysNAND and emuNAND. One exception - AK2 shows AK2 logo on the card icon under 9.2 sysNAND, but is blank under 10.3 emuNAND.

Note: after running legit cart under emuNAND and closing it with HOME, you get booted back to sysNAND. Maybe not unexpected, but I thought I'd mention it.

So I am trying to set up emuNAND for my old 3DS and I got to the part where I had to install the fbi.cia and I get pic related.

What did I do wrong? Any help?

The only two cards I have that I can use were some random class 4 one's lying around that I haven't used in a long ass time. I'm gonna have to wait for a better card to ship before I can test it. You technically could, but I've had no luck with the official rxTools .3dsx. You could just set CtrBootManager's timeout to zero in the boot.cfg, that way it'll autoboot without displaying anything unless you're holding select, it'll be effectively the same thing.

I installed a Majoras Mask .cia and it doesn't appear on my home menu when I install it. It's installed when I check in the settings but just isn't popping up.

It's basically zero, but Nintendo does get a list of installed stuff whenever you visit the eShop and while they haven't done so, they could theoretically cross-reference it and ban people/consoles.

There's a "better" installer on GBAtemp now, it's called NASA. I say better in quotes because it's a piece of shit but the exploit runs more consistently.

If you're on 9.2 and below and you're installing legit .cias, just using plain old regular upstream FBI will work. It includes the reliable memchunkhax. If you're on 9.3-10.3, you need NASA or the modded FBI, both using rather shitty versions of memchunkhax2.

It's a 32 GB SanDisk, write peaks at about 10 MB/s usually, although sometimes it goes up to 25 MB/s or so.
