alright i'm fucking lost now. I downgraded my 3ds and got to the point where I placed "firmware.bin inside \FOR SD CARD ROOT\rxTools\sys\" I copied everything over to my SD card root and put it back in to my 3ds. When I turned it on and held L to get to the homebrew menu, nothing happened, multiple times. I did what the error section on the retard guide told me to do. However, whenever I scan the QR code, open the website, and press the little slider (it was automatic before I downgraded, didn't have to press a slider) I get kicked out of the browser with an "An error has occurred." message. Now I'm not sure what to do, someone please help this retard.

After 5 minutes nothing happened so I took out the SD card, on removal of SD card and error message popped up as if I was on the regular home menu of 3DS so I turned off the console since it wouldn't let me close the popup. So menuhax suddenly stopped working for me, meaning it probably wasn't properly installed in the first place. I turned off my 3ds and when I booted it back up it wouldn't work. Am I completely fucked now or what? I had it set up to boot into crtboot via menuax, and lead me into emunand via rxtools 3.0. I followed the retard's guide to the letter and don't really know what else to do from here.

The fastest one (pocketsnes) would only give me 27 fps on Super Metroid so I gave up on it. "Playable" means different things to different people though

I managed to get ac hhd to work on my o3ds 10.3 cfw with the help of eshop:

>If you get an error when you try to open it
>go to eshop and search for ac hhd, along the bottom it should say "downloaded"
>go out of eshop and into settings and delete ac hhd through that
>once deleted go back to eshop and look up ac hdd
>It should now say "redownload" and it'll allow you to download it through the eshop
>updating the 2.0 update should still make the game work

Same method can be used for pokemon picross too if you get an error message

Those directions are misleading. You have to install a patched cia (AGB_FIRM) to NAND in FBI, in BOTH sysnand and emunand. This cia is NOT a game cia, never install a game cia to the nand. After that, you have to install the game cia to the sd on both sysnand and emunand, then start the game in emunand.

Did anyone else have issues with getting Homebrew launcher.cia working after installing ctrboot?

I fixed it by hex editing the ropbin file. By default the cia version of homebrew launcher looks for boot.bin and this can't be changed via hex editing for some reason. So I left the normal hbl boot.3dsx as is and renamed the ctr one to grub.3dsx (name has to be same length when you hex edit). Next I opened the ropbin in my hex editor and searched for the boot.3dsx string. Replaced it with grub.3dsx and I was good to go. Now I can launch hbl from within emunand and edit my theme via chmm2.

What's a fair price to sell a 3DS XL LoZ: LBW edition? It's very well taken care of.

That's not a database error, that's a command error. You can't use FBI.3dsx in EmuNAND or in any CFW that isn't Pasta or the Pasta mode in rxTools (and no, there's no EmuNAND support for those).

Your only option is to inject FBI or re-do your EmuNAND after setting up FBI in SysNAND.

That wasn't very clear. Basically, make a url that looks like mega.nz/#F[random string of numbers and letters] with whatever you've been given. That's what I've been doing with some of the weird urls people have been linking for the app.

Anyone have any ideas/solutions for this problem? I downgraded to 9.2 but when I boot with the SD card I get two black screens (holding L doesn't launch homebrew menu) and if I boot without the SD card then the 3DS boots normally. I checked the error fixing section of the pastebin and tried to fix the homebrew launcher/browser hax but when I changed the boot.3dsx file to bkup.3dsx and get the boot.3dsx from the starter zip and put the SD card back in for boot, my 3DS still has black screens with the SD card in. Yes, you need a program on your PC. You can use Sockfile (shitty Java command-line thing), SocketPunch (shitty Java GUI thing), FalconPunch (simple Python command-line thing) or maybe some others. There's no actual easy to use GUI to my knowledge, it's mostly a thing meant for developers. You do indeed save space and it can be faster.

Even brief connection drops will obviously result in having to retry so you need pretty reliable wifi.

"CFW" is actually just the way everyone refers to BOTH firmware patches and NAND redirecting, since they're often together. That's what rxTools does: it patches the firmware so you can launch software without checks and redirects the NAND to a partition in your SD card. And yes, updating emuNAND is a good idea.

What are the real differences between a N3DS and an O3DS as far as cfw is concerned right now? I know the actual process for N3DS is supposed to be a bitch, and emunand is limited to 9.5.

You can't dump or restore NAND unless you're properly on 9.2. You could do it with a hardmod though, yeah. It's pretty much proven that softbricks don't get fixed unless you format. If you do set up a hardmod, you can backup now, format, successfully downgrade SysNAND and use your NAND backup as EmuNAND, meaning you lose nothing (if you backed up your SD card before formatting SysNAND too). Hardmod obviously takes soldering skills and a whole bunch of shit.

Use OpenDNS, it takes like 5 minutes to do. Had mine on for a few months and it never tried updating. Plus, you can firmware spoof.

Hard Mod can be done by anyone with novice level of soldering skills. It's only 8 points total and the 3DS doesn't have to be taken apart that much just the backplate.
