If you have to ask, you can't do it.
>I just started, what should I do?
Do the Opportunities then find the Career Agents & run all of their missions; they give you ISK, ships, skillbooks and teach you basics. Talk to players and try to find a corp. The game is only as boring as you are.

I need a little help regarding eve online information.
I am really considering playing this but I need to gather information first, I tried reading eveloppedia(wiki) but still left me in vague. Is there any other site where can I read up?
>is the Kestrel good for that?
If there was ever a time I felt cucked it is now.
>these people are allowed to vote
its a shit ship anyways
has bad web range compared to other ships, has bad neut range compare to other ships and has bad neut amount when compared to other ships, it is also slow as fucking shit.
>corp joins alliance
>don't give a shit
>continue doing stealth bombing
>receive doctrine from alliance
>armor tanked purifiers
>fuck it, might as well, it's only 53m a fit
there's a reason i never fc, maybe this is why
>2 least used
Again with that shit. I suppose it's alright in this case, but it was fucking retarded when they buffed hookbill "because it was one of the two least used navy frigates".
We only had four, literally half of them are going to be the two least used. Holy shit CCP.
>they didn't even bother giving this update a name
Since the only useful shit they put in is not for me I guess its for the best.
this new jamming hud thing is really neat, game doesn't even tell me I'm being jammed anymore besides not being able to target anything
>a couple blue patches here and there
wow, really overwhelming CCP
Fuck that. I just think there should be corp/alliance specific skins that you can make. CCP wants money and alliances will spend AUR to 'copyright' a certain patern and players can pay a small amount to skin each ship. Would be far better than the current NPC ones.
>hello kitty render of scorpion
All the pony cancer ships?
I'm going to go ahead and say no. A Battlecruiser with a t2 fit will be able to do it, albeit slowly.
I seem to remember doing C2 or C3 sites in a Drake years ago, but it was incredibly slow and not worth the hassle at all.
Are all "sites" equally as dangerous in WH's? I get that you're probably talking about combat sites, but does what you're saying also apply for clearing data/relic sites or ore sites? Or are those easier compared to combat sites?

So how do I get CCP to give me an orange Firetail skin with "01" printed on both wings, and a Thukker Tribe flag on the top?
Wormholes have classes, 1-6, and the sleepers get harder as the class of wormhole increases. Data/Relic sites have sleepers that are a little tougher than their wormhole class would typically be.
Because nullsec SHOULD be a lot more inhospitable, having the one "safe" route there be through wormhole connections is fine, that's a fitting hassle for the possible rewards.
It's also good for corporation PVP imo.
Lowsec gatecamping is 100% gay though.
why do you think that? because you're a whfag?
well, whether or not there 'should be gatecamps' or not, I think the actual game changes that should happen should take massive shits on instalock faggotry and permabubbling
easy fix, make the sentries increase the damage over time, by the 5th minute a single sentry should be able to alpha a T1 fully tanked cruiser.
Can also make them apply a debuff sort of like a scram that disables all outside help and make your weapon timer reset overtime you are shot.
Then you make all the sentries spread this evenly.
But they do, they bring logi even.
Also calling for a CONCORD patrol to the gate could be interesting, would give you the chance to make them run away for a while or fight them off even if outnumbered or gunned.
Downside is it would cost isk, take a while and only protect you in that grid for a few minutes.
>your idea also completely ruins all pirates trying to have any kind of engagement on a gate
Not that guy, but that would be fine. Then everyone just has to play around that, it makes a lot of sense anyway.
no it dosn't, instead of sitting at it taking guns with their scout in the next system they are forced to stay docked or away from the gate and warp only when they about something coming it, giving them less time to set up and bring bigger ships.
>they are necessary
No, they're not you fucking retard. They're not useful for fucking anything other than making small-dicked faggots feel less worthless about their own insecurities.
>no gatecamps ever
>completely safe everywhere in EVE
>Mario kart more dangerous than traveling around New Eden
fuck you, they are necessary.
They keep you at the edge of your seat, never feeling safe on expensive/big ships/stuff that matters
Go stay in Highsec if you don't like gatecamps faggot, or just don't undock while you're at it.
gatecamping in nullsec is fine, though it needs to be nerfed
gatecamping in lowsec has 0% reason to be in the game
The fact that you defend zero-effort, essentially AFK ganking means you are dumb as fuck.
This is how it should be: If you want to PVP outside of null, then put some fucking work in and hunt some people up or be prepared to have to suicide gank, yeah even in lowsec.
Gatecamping in lowsec is literally just abusing the gate mechanic in EVE, it's the most low-skill form of PVP there is and it has no reason to stay.
you actually are fucking retarded. remove T3D scan res bonus on sharpshooter mode. remove scan res bonus on sensor boosters and remote sensor boosters, replace with sensor dampening resistance or something idk. reduce the range on logi so you can't have a 10m exequror like 70km away. maybe undo a few years of tackle range creep - things were much more reasonable when webs were 10km and disruptors were 20km. we don't need 35km scrams and 100km disruptors.
just making it so any group taking gateguns will get totally evaporated will pretty much remove pirates from the game, then suddenly all that's left in lowsec would be a bunch of non-outlaw cucks who won't engage each other, and fw plex farmers. you'd be making it impossible to take any aggressive action at gates and just be turning lowsec into babby shit, where all gangs can do is engage in ~honourable duels~ at plexes (read: refusing to fight because the other gang has 1 more ship than them)
Lowsec ratting is the primary income for rookies/novices. These get completely fucked by gatecamps for no appreciable reason at all.
And CCP complains about player retention. Maybe stopping players who swim in billions of ISK from AFK-ganking new players would be a start in adressing that.
If piracy needs to be a thing, it needs to be a thing that isn't gatecamping.
How? A corpless rookie can easily make 5-10 mil an hour this way as soon as he can fly a Destroyer. Do tell what other careers reliably makes that kind of ISK with that little training.
>inb4 ninja salvaging
>Lowsec ratting is the primary income for rookies/novices.
Yeah man, way more newbies lowsec ratting than highsec missioning.
it isn't like losing your character, like cookie cucker. with stunt it's a ban, meaning that if he comes back on a new account, he can't ever reveal that he was stunt. he would have to build up his legend from the ground up, and there would always be the danger that his style is recognizable enough (or - likely - he is unwilling to restrain himself enough) that he will get outed and banned again. for someone like him, this is torture. the legend that he's build around himself is integral to his eve experience, and playing eve without it would be bland as fuck.
btw stunt if you ever come back, consider joining all-out? we do work with maq and that might be an issue, but as long as you don't tell anyone who you were and just dunk goons it should be fine.

I've had this same exchange with turbojews in four different null alliances, they think because they are isolated and have carrier dps they are safer than some venture in lowsec solo. Without any home def capability dedicated pvpers can drop in from wh and rape them to the tune of 100bn.
i cant name a single company that could preserve eve as well as ccp is
with respect to eve's history, yeah they are doing shit. but compare it to all the other devs... you aren't giving ccp enough credit
Anything i say is an improvement, some autist will argue it's wrecking the game.
Just list the changes and try to find one that is actually wrecking anything.
>tiericide of modules
>space aids limiting force projection
>faction frig/cruiser/bs hulls( SOE and Mordus) and ninja miners( venture Prospect Endurance), all designed to make moving in null/wh not impossible
>NPE changes to give some direction to newbros
None of these are game wrecking. All within last year or two.
I said year. You've gone 2-2 1/2 years back for most of those except NPE. So I'll take Opportunities system.
Really? Ok Skins. That's two.
Do you mean ore rebalance?
Any advice for someone wanting to get back into station trading? I've got 2 billion ISK to invest. I used to have a decent little flow of space shekels but it's been a long time and I'm not feeling confident.
As far as I can tell, they don't even change the material properties.
Everything stays the exact same except for what I presume is the normal map. So a couple colors are swapped around, but everything still has the same speculars, etc.
It honestly feels like they aren't even trying. The prices alone are already ridiculous, but the actual color schemes just... it's like there's zero effort being put into it. There were better skins made in 10 seconds by the art team when they were first showing this stuff off. I don't understand what happened.
Pic related (and heavily cropped for reasons), did this after being inspired by the tash-murkon skin.
70% specular on the orange metal bits with a dark red base color and orange highlight coupled with a grey hexagon pattern applied on the underlying parts. It's the same basic color scheme as the tash murkon skin, but with different speculars and normals applied to different parts.
It didn't take me very long to do this, and that's with something that isn't exactly a robust editor.
The only explanation I can come to is that there is a management decision involved with keeping the art team from putting decent skins out.

why even live when someone this autistic plays this game?
Why doesn't anyone organize gank squads to gank the gankers?
Get everyone into NPC corps so they can't be wardecc'd, have the ops be more or less open to anyone interested in anti-gank squads, and just run around highsec blasting whatever machariels or catalysts or tornados or whatever that people come across, with known gankers getting singled out specifically no matter what they're flying
Why don't hisec players ever organize and stand up for themselves?
>setup alt pilot
>going all drone skills all the time
>attributes all memory with rest perception
should I set this fag up out in abandoned nullsec with a sentry vni in the meantime? Just outrange everything?
Guys. I can't top what ive done on johnny meme. Ive sucessfully left my comfort zome and fucked everything up. I feel terrible for destroying that tower so, Im going to be putting the character down to keep his legacy clean and starting a new and im ginna get back to not being a shitter.
Its for the best. Trust me.
And after memeing around I want to play serious.
>it feels great getting blown the fuck out by anything that isnt a t1 frigate logi
I'm tempted to come back to EVE, I haven't played in about 2 years.
Is the game slowly degrading with a continually dwindling userbase or have the devs woken up and smelled the coffee?
Should I bother playing again?
What should I train for next?
Keep in mind I am finishing up Command Ships at the moment, and only have to train the ship skills for Logi, command dessies and Hictors and I can fly them too
Well the removed the Jukebox.
Plex is a thing.
Everyone seems to want to be a e-celeb.
Cap ships being the end all be all.
Wardecking in high sec.
A few other things.
Why are you acting like the game hasn't had significant problems which has made people stop playing?
Can someone give me an answer which isn't tainted by fanboyism?
>unironically complaining about wardecs in high sec
>Wardecking in high sec.
White Stag Exit Bag member detected
>should i play this game?
>(people who like the game are fanboys)
>(people who don't like the game are reasonable)
paired with your list of supposed problems with the game, it sounds like you are looking for people to affirm your existing opinion that eve is not worth your time so you can be comfortable with not coming back.
i like this game; i've been playing for the past two years and am happy with its direction. make up your own mind about coming back.
I have been here before and argued why Plex ruins many aspects of the game.
I have gone by point to point and when I finally explain the reasons why is makes the game worse I'm rewarded with insults instead of any actual discussion.
So its a good feature that new corps are instantly wardecked?
Again seems more like people seeing a feature they don't have to deal with because of their corp so they just employ the git-gud attitude.
>i like this game; i've been playing for the past two years and am happy with its direction. make up your own mind about coming back.
I've been playing the game off and on since 2007.
The game has been leaking players for a very long time.
Most vets are aware that the game has been decreasing in quality for a long time.
I quite for various reasons but I'm interested in coming back if I hear about some improvements.
However you seem to froth at the mouth at the insistence that the game has been decreasing in quality, which it has.
I wanted to know if anything has been improved.
Why is this so hard for you to do?
If your the guy who played for two years then you have no idea what the jukebox is because they removed that 4 years ago.
Yeah sure bud your not a deluded fanboy at all.
I'm going to wait until I get an answer from someone who isn't someone who has been playing for only two years or is emotionally attached/too invested in the game.
2 year anon here. no, i never used the jukebox. sounds like a shit reason to not play a game. idk, maybe it really contributed to the networks between players and the larger narratives that make this game worth playing (compared to every other mmo) in some way that i'm not aware of.
if you are the anon responsible for plex discussions, i have no doubt that you will dismiss as counter-reasons or as irrelevant any examples people put forward as possible reasons to resub.
all that being said, here are some things i think are reasons to be subbed (and many other people think are reasons to unsub)
>removal of pos for citadels
>sp packs for easier use than character bazaar
>large capital ship reworks
>we all know what the jukebox is. nobody sensible cares.
Well since the person who was brushing off the Jukebox and then admitted to playing only for 2 years which means they were just playing when I quit, shows they have no idea what the Jukebox is other then hearing about it or googling it.
I would prefer to get the opinion of someone who doesn't consider them self a vet for playing for only 2 years.
Why is it that no one can list any improvements to the game added after 2013-4?
That's all I want.
Yet it seems simply asking this makes people go on the offensive, so it gives me the feeling nothing really has been improved which is why people are getting so upset.
I've received similar response from people on the Star Citizen General who also get their panties in a bunch over people asking if the game has improved at all.
Nvm I found them
>Electronic warfare immunity for supercaps is being removed. Instead they will gain a resistance that reduces the impact of electronic warfare and very high warp core strength, stated to be between 20 and 50, which would require numerous points to overcome. Carriers and dreads in siege or triage will not be immune to electronic warfare either, just highly resistant to it. However, that resistance will also reduce incoming remote assistance.
>New capital modules including shield extenders, capacitor boosters, armor plates, propulsion modules, faction, and T2 varieties are being introduced.
>All capitals will get a hitpoint rebalancing to make them have lower hitpoints unless fit for tank. However with the new modules announced about this should provide more interesting fitting options.
>All capital ships are getting fleet hangars and ship hangars, allowing them to carry more cargo.
>Refitting will no longer be allowed on any ship with a weapons timer, putting an end to capitals refitting to maximize tank or DPS in the middle of a raging gunfight.
>Supercaps will be able to dock in the new XL Citadels.
This is fucking huge, and would like to point out anyone could of mentioned this re-balance and I would of shut up.

i'm genuinely glad you found something that makes you interested in the game again.
if you interested specifically in the opinions of people who have been playing for a certain amount of time, maybe you could mention a cut-off date in your question.
if you don't mind opinions of newer players and are simply uninterested in "2 year players who consider themselves vets", i'd point out that i never intentionally implied i was a vet, and i volunteered my age specifically to give you more information with which to weigh my opinions.
also worth noting -
it seems like you might be interested mostly in what players who have played as long as you have. please consider that the number of 2007 characters in this general is likely to be low.
What is up with this new camera?
Don't tell me CCP is planning on implementing it completely? It makes me feel nauseous, I think it has something to do with the FOV, and manual piloting with it is a nightmare.

faction is what low sp plebs use instead of T2.

this is what happens when a DIX member posts on eog
Wow martini, chill bro.
There is no such thing as "blogposting" on /eog/. The entire game is about what people DO in it.
I thought about getting some donations when Skill point injections come out I had a few people offer toons or isk but as you mentioned not being able to do what I did like stream dunking goons and getting gevbucks would suck dick. The day I got banned I had just gotten sponsored by eve bet also. I am surprised CCP even blocked me from the fucking ticket system for making my second appeal after 5 months.
he made pic related and showed it to one person
TEN THOUSAND YEARS DUNGEON
he's probably pretty sick of talking about it at this point but this covers it pretty well
keep in mind that stunt is a habitual linestepper and would probably not have been perma'd for this if he had been in good standing with the devs beforehand
and had the goons not had the devs in their pocket **tinfoil intensifies**
im not entirely sure why you would consider supporting a company that pulled that kind of shit on you

the people that run it are pretty good, sure, but the low level smug memefags really trigger me. being basically an F1 monkey but in an orthrus or whatever doesn't mean you're elite pvp.
How many of those research components have you found /dog/?
>low level smug memefags really trigger me.
for your homework i strongly suggest you roam solo in lowsec in any T1 hull,T2 fitted and try to find action. After a month of dual boxing faction cruisers, falcon alts, blobs of meme-shitters, surprise logi and links errywhere you will be slightly closer to becoming immune to the smug.
here's a old one on the house
its a caldari tower, also we though this was a good fleet for sleepers
Why don't they make Sov more closely tied to PI?
1. Make PI more lucrative.
2. PI things are destructible.
3. Planetary defense nodes of different types.
4. Dreads have to bombard the nodes, which takes like an hour per planet so that you actually have to work for your sov.
5. Planetary shields which take a week to build with cool model, which allow reinforcement timer.
6. Once you have all the planets in a system, you get sov.
1. Procedurally generated planet surfaces.
2. Planetary orbits that your ship can "vector" into depending on its mass.
-low orbit: frigs and destroyers.
-mid orbit: cruisers to battleships.
-high orbit: caps.
3. Securing each orbit is optimal for sending ground security [with a new destroyer class] to the surface to destroy/raid/convert/reinforce PI structures.
4. Ground combat is abstracted, but has a rock paper scissors thing with heavy, medium, and light forces with empire and faction variances.
5. Doing ground combat is optional and expensive [-300mil per engagement, just with the cost of the forces] but allows you to raid, take over with out destroying, and protect your planetary things.
1. While new type of pilotable machines that are exclusively for planetary surfaces.
2. Dust/project legion compatibility.
1: the game is set in space, not on planets
2: your system is generally really stupid and again, bigger groups will fucking steamroll smaler ones, not to mention that it sounds boring as fuck.
No, it will be too time consuming for big groups to steamroll. Remember, you have to get every planet.
Instead big groups will have to pick key systems to inhabit and protect.
Small groups can take less desirable/remote systems, and even cohabitate with other groups because it's a free for all until someone controls all the planets and gets sov.
>it's set in space not on planets
So you have autism.
>it will be time consuming
>for that group with 30k members
>but not for a small group
god, do you even listen to yourself?
>less desirable systems
so why live there and not in wspace?
Use your brain. Okay?
The whole point of this is for people to not need/be able to control as much sov as they currently do.
The big alliance will have more sov, yes. But not as much as it currently does which will open up room for smaller groups that just need one or two systems.
>In this course we will focus on ERP
Dogposting from uni is so much fun
I thought they weren't in the game yet. Where do you find them?
