First for RSC, this might be the only day in the last several years RSC hasn't been dead
tfw already have full rune on a fresh acc
Altona here, still on the bus to class
I'm not sure I get whatever is up with this.
Join the fc or the discord for faster answers, but definitely do any quests you are able to do. Quest cape is one of the best goals you can have as a new player. The best skills early are your combats most likely
So I'm trying to do spooder in this gear, and it deals more damage on the last phase than I can heal with brews. Should I get different armor? I was switching reflect prayers as best I could.
Also, I forgot to lure the acidic spiders under Araxxor, and have yet to find out exactly what benefit it gives. I understand it increases his damage during phase 3, but what does it do to phase 4?
you should barely have to eat with that gear, especially on low enrage
acid spiders being lured increase araxxors enrage and dont increase araxxis enrage, i personally stopped bothering with them for less time and effort per kill
Your armor is fine. Use supreme sharpshooter if you have it, the accuracy is much more useful than the healing from vamp. Get a superior scrimshaw of cruelty, it will help with dps too.
If you don't lure the acidic spiders in phase 3, Araxxi will absorb them on phase 4, making her hit harder. If you're just starting to learn I would recommend luring them on phase 3 since you're likely having the most problems on phase 4.
Also - where are you standing? If you're ranging stand 3 squares away, it makes prayer switching easier than if you're farther because the attacks travel at different speeds, and it's still far enough that you won't get hit by cleave unless you get pulled.
Here's a pic - stand where the red box is, not where the guy in the pic is. 1 square diagonal from the rocks on the ground.
>tfw no Verac gf
WHY EVEN LIVE
These meme trading sequences are pretty dumb
Attention whore mods who create random bullshit items that are impossible to figure out so needy players swarm them until they're pretty much forced to give away the answer to remain relevant.
It wont lead to anything substantial
How long does player owned ports take to get the gear? Reading shit that says it takes up to 5 fucking months to get the shit to make the T85 armor, that's one obscene way to gate content
sorry i forget you guys don't the /r/runescape brain power! on my 6th kill i got a leg bottom, 13th kill i got leg middle, 33rd kill i got a leg top finishing a leg! then on my 42nd kill i got a leg bottom, and on the 45th kill which was completed now i got a spider leg middle! haha!
>calculate how long it'd take me to get from 62 to 75 agility
>it's around 30 hours
I wish I'd known the skating was good exp while I could still do it
yes yes I know that's nothing compared to some other stuff
>mfw I've been a member for 5 years, playing solely during summers and special world events, and went from 50 agility to my current 98 without stepping ONCE in an agility course
They just shit out so much free xp nowadays it's insane
Anyone remember the Gielinor Games? That shit was insane
So I've been doing some qbd got 85 herby. What the next thing people usually shoot for? 96 herb I take it?
Buttblasted. You can try it out to see but you'll get getting few kills per trip for sure.
Ey peeps, just started playing again, quick question, roughly how many hours would it take to get the stats required for quest cape?
Asking cause my favorite part of rs is questing and having
funand I'm not interested in maxing at all.
her drops have almost always been worth jack shit. Pre-EOC no one wanted the crossbow, and EOC made her so easy the price tanked even when people did want the crossbow.
If you only make 1m an hour at QBD your kills are very slow.
23 days and he funded all the gp instantly from his main
A_Friend's doing a "max only with TH keys" challenge and so far he's spent something like $10,000 (only during best promos like smouldering lamps) and is only around 70 in each skill. His time played is under 24h I think
It is several million an hour at current prices. Pre EOC she took significantly longer to kill so she had good normal drops, and the occasional bone kit, visage, or kiteshield gave boosts to profits. She became easy and those became worthless, but her normal drops don't lose value because they are consumed resources.
She is still 3-5m an hour overall depending on kill speeds, so making 1m an hour means the kills are slow.
It's tempting but It also costs more to save for overloads when all I really want is to make overlords. On second thought my math might be off anyhow i forgot to factor in sellback. But 99m cost with just 30k super antifires is accurate.
Yea people have always said the drops are meh. But at least a few years ago iirc the drops were generally worth a bit more like herbs and logs and such.
But yea my kills are slow. Naturally for someone without 92prayer /96 herb. I get one kill per 3 min unfortunately.
Besides a few exceptions like torstol seeds, none of her regular drops lost enough value to be worse overall when accounting for the fact that her kills take a minute or two as opposed to 6-10
Touche I forgot about the banner. I'm going to do the math on that. I think that could save me a lot of money. Good thinking, I haven't seen any guides mention this at all. whatafak man.
It doesn't matter if the prices go down slightly in comparison to kills being 5 times faster. The only significant decrease in gp/hr is at the start of EOC when the markets had to take time to adjust for the influx of drops from various monsters.
>prices go down slightly
Buddy, Dragon Bones are 50% of what they used to be, Lantadyme are 50% of what they used to be, and all of the parts of the RCB are 30% of what they used to be. The dragon kites are worthless now too.
>kills being 5 times faster
These price drops happened way after EoC.
>D bones are 50% of what they used to be
Define "used to be," because d bones have fluctuated between 1.5k and 5k over the past 3 years. Right now their value of about 3000 is fairly average. The price hasn't exceeded 6k in over 5 years.
>lantadymes are 50% of what they used to be
Again, 50% of their peak of about 12k for a bonus xp event or some shit back in 2014. They are lower than their average value of around 8k in the past couple of years, but not by the amount you're claiming.
It sounds like you're saying her prices took a hit and using the sort of prices people would pay during a bxp event as the standard for how profitable "she used to be." Her overall drops became less profitable over the past few years, but the number of kills per hour has also risen slowly as we got more abilities and power creep, so the actual profitability of the boss has barely gone down in comparison to other bosses who held value from their rare drops.
Also yes all of her rare drops lost their value when EOC came out, gutting her and inviting everyone to camp her easily.
Honestly your magic accuracy would always have been shit in Bandos barring things with 0 magic defense. Also magic weapons actually matter now so using something like a basic air staff will have awful damage output so you should be using a magic weapon which matches your magic level.
>he unironically likes the nu-99 capes
Also can /rsg/ please fill this out?
>The price hasn't exceeded 6k in over 5 years.
DBones were 5k - 5.5k at least as recently as August of 2014.
>Again, 50% of their peak of about 12k for a bonus xp event or some shit back in 2014.
They were consistently 10k each for more than a year somewhere in 2013 - 2015.
>using the sort of prices people would pay during a bxp event as the standard
Not at all.
>number of kills per hour has also risen slowly as we got more abilities and power creep, so the actual profitability of the boss has barely gone down
You're probably right on that one. I used to get about 24 kph with t70 and an abs in 2013 - 2014. With decent gear and the EoC 2.0 (change back to 138 from 200 lv system) it'd probably be even quicker. Truth be told, I haven't done qbd since then.
> 5 is bigger than 6
I said "exceeded" and that was only for about a month, which was oddly around a BXP weekend, disregarding prayer usually is to train. You don't use the best price spikes to determine "how it used to be overall."
>They were consistently 10k each for more than a year somewhere in 2013 - 2015.
According to GE records that isn't true. Barring a spike to 12k for the time around 2014's February BXP weekend, the average price was closer to 8k.
So far that's 2/2 where the examples were bolstered by BXP spiking the prices far higher than their average amount. Even if over time some of the prices of some resources drop, her overall GP per hour probably has seen the least damage throughout the years of any boss.
>I said "exceeded"
Common dude, 5k - 5.5k is still a significant amount more than the 2.5k - 3k there are now. It's dishonest to pick a number just outside where they sat as your reference point. It suggests that they haven't been near that value, while in fact they were within 10% / 500gp of that value.
>for about a month, which was oddly around a BXP weekend
No, it wasn't. BXP weekends in 2014 were in February and November. That price was the going rate for a long while; I know because I got 99 prayer in that time period.
>You don't use the best price spikes to determine "how it used to be overall."
As mentioned above: I didn't.
>According to GE records that isn't true. Barring a spike to 12k for the time around 2014's February BXP weekend, the average price was closer to 8k.
Can you tell me where I can see that history (2013 through 2014)? I just remember being able to sell them for that much normally when I did qbd. I can only see 7.7k in may of 2013 and 9k in october of 2014 on the inet archive.
>So far that's 2/2 where the examples were bolstered by BXP spiking the prices far higher than their average amount.
0/2 actually, potentially 1/2 for the lantadyme if you can link me to the history, and we see a substantial difference from the 10k figure I gave at all times but BXP weekend times.
At the beginning of EoC 24 kph was about as high as could be expecetd. Now it's around 36-37. T90 weapons, shadow tendrils, corruption shot, surge, ability damage adjustments - all made QBD significantly faster.
Click enlarge chart at bottom right.
They did spike in 2014 feb during bxp true.
Anyhow you'll notice that without a doubt 2013 and 2014 had higher average value on lanta. Closing into 2015 the price kept a steady but over-all lower value.
I haven't checked all her other valued items but I wager they're lower than they've been in the past few years.
I'm someone else but I agree. QBD can be done bloody fast now so cheaper commodity isn't so relevant when considering how fast QBD can be killed.
For someone who can't kill QBD fast. I would argue that her value dropped over-all is lower than in the past. Discussion closed?
>if you can link me to the history
Is this a joke? There are multiple services which track the GE, including the one on Jagex's site. You can even check the RS wiki page for an item to see the history.
> It's dishonest to pick a number just outside where they sat
I picked a number below the highest point they ever had (nearly 7k each in 2011). They only broke 5k for a couple month stint around the start of 2014 and other than that fluctuated between 2 and 4k most of the time, occasionally almost hitting 5k.
> BXP weekends in 2014 were in February
Yes, and were announced beforehand, so the period around a bonus time typically has inflated prices because people stop selling them in anticipation of rising prices.
>I used to get about 24 kph with t70 and an abs in 2013 - 2014
> I haven't done qbd since then
So you are pointing at the highest point those resources had. Most of 2013 had lants averaging about 7k, rising from 5k at the start of the year, late 2013 and early 2014 surrounding the BXP hype it exceeded 10k, and afterwards dropped back to an average of 8k. Late 2014 they kept dropping, and lants haven't been over 8k in over a year now. So the only time they were averaging 10k was around bxp and the only time in the past several years they were at their best price.
And then all of this assumes that kill speeds stayed the same and that all of the drops lost significant value. Neither of these are true. QBD has probably gone down in gp/hr but the difference in the past year would be like 4.5m down to 4m which is nothing for a several year old boss with no special loots, compared to other moneymaking methods which go to shit if everyone does them. If QBD's cash rates were to take a nose dive it would have to be something like an update to triple her hp making the fight last closer to the original length.
QBD has never been below 7m/hour for someone with maxed stats and gear who is good at killing her. The gradual fall in the value of her drops has been entirely offset by the gradual increase in kill speeds.
Thanks. I didn't know about that chart.
>Is this a joke? There are multiple services which track the GE, including the one on Jagex's site. You can even check the RS wiki page for an item to see the history.
The one on the rs website only goes back 6 months as far as I can see. I didn't know about the chart on the rs wikia. I had to change my request-policy config for it even show up; it's an addition I didn't know they'd made.
>dbones and latadyme values in 2014, and in relation to bxp
I'm making a graphic to address this.
>So you are pointing at the highest point those resources had.
Inadvertently yes; will show why in graphic.
>... So the only time they were averaging 10k was around bxp and the only time in the past several years they were at their best price.
Not true if you mean bxp weekends.
True, and a point I already agreed with earlier, see: >>128293509
>number of kills per hour has also risen slowly as we got more abilities and power creep, so the actual profitability of the boss has barely gone down
>You're probably right on that one.
Hence why I said they're too retarded to use irc, literally just use a bouncer, simplest shit to set up, or a vpn. Besides, they used teamspeak and skype. They either realized how stupid they were, or they don't care about some shitstain skid ddosing them.
can someone fucking EXPLAIN this shit to me?
>every person with max capes not have 0 respect from me
Why did they ever have respect from you? Sitting at a computer for X hours watching movies in another window isnt respectable
well i mean i seems somewhat impressive that someone actually worked for all 99s but since everyone just bots or now-a-days just buys keys. fuck you max cape fags, at least im trying to get 99s legit
>worked for all 99s
But they havent? 99s were never difficult to obtain, just time consuming.
And people botted way more in the past than now, botwatch is pretty good at flagging people. Keys are shitty but honestly you can spot those people a mile away.
It's the TS/Skype circlejerk moving on to a new medium. They're so desperate to be in control which is why their ringleader, Altona, attempted to create a new fc last year with the rest of the TS circlejerk as his minion generals. Thankfully it never caught on so now they're trying to make their discord into a thing to satiate their desire for power and control. Everything shitty about the fc can be traced back to these few: the memespouting, the "ironic" furry erp, all fc drama, it's all done them
they also all play with girl characters to add to the attention whoring
This graphic should help explain what I think went on. The timeline of when I was killing the QBD is based on the dates of screenshots I took of some loot, and when I got 99 prayer (what I spent some of the money on). It's not exact, but it's definitely around the right time. (if there's a way to see way father back in my adventurers log let me know)
>dbone & lantadyme prices
My memory of what I got for dbones in mid 2014 was wrong; it was 4-4.5k (tops) not 5-5.5k. I think I'd worked on prayer during the February BXP weekend and paid 5.5k for some bones during that time. The memories of the prices bled together.
The average price of dbones was consistently about 4.25k after the BXP weekend until September though, then sank. My memory of what I was getting for lantadyme does seem to be correct, but you're also correct in your statement that it was above average, for the reason noted below.
As seen on the graphic, the time I was last killing the QBD happens to coincide with the release of the Enlightenment aura, which raised the price from what I would agree is a correct estimate of 8k for the lantadyme.
In the end, I assumed that my experience with the loot value was the norm, but the time sample was too small. The actual average prices of the consumables were / are much lower than I'd assumed. At least I won't have to rely on memory again now that I know there's a longer term price database.
>Altona, attempted to create a new fc last year
Doesnt some stupid shit like this happen about once a year? I remember when Homura tried to pull that shit back when 420noScape was the main chat and before him it was some other fag
I always find it funny when an attention whore tries to splinter off and become the ringleader of the group only to realize so few people actually give a shit about the other peolpe in the chat and just want background chatter while they grind
>and before him it was some other fag
you might be thinking of swamiboo, but he did it because he was banned from 420. The skype/TS/Discord circlejerk are the biggest cancer in the fc (which was ironically made for people that wanted to get away from memespouting and mod circlejerks) sadly, we couldnt even have that
I dont browse too many other generals but I swear it's only this one that has circlejerking this hard
>>I dont browse too many other generals but I swear it's only this one that has circlejerking this hard
Probably because Runegame isnt fun to play on its own. People have to entertain themselves in strange ways
Ex. Bartin, Anoi, JelloBuffalo
You're giving that nolife retard more credit than he's worth. Most of the people I know in the "circlejerk" just encourage his jew shenanigans because we just want to see how far this retard will go, and because they're funny to watch unravel. The least likable people in these groups, as well as being the most vocal, are the only ones involved in these autistic power struggles. Altona is involved because he's an annoying little cunt with nothing to do in life. Homura is involved because he can't get over the fact that he lost his rank in the clan since he's a power abusing autist. Quietess is involved because he likes to start drama and has no respect for anyone in authority that isn't himself or a buddy of his. Homura is the worst, he's the actual "ringleader".
Welcome to the autistic power struggles in a kid's grinding simulator.
Lost count at how many times he's tried to pull off stunts like that.
Swami was just one of many. His/hers was unique because he/she/it actually got banned from the chat, stuck to his/her created fc for a long time, and didn't belong to any specific circlejerks, he/she/it just talked to a lot of us on Skype a lot.
I've seen this said a lot in the chat, and the statement couldn't get any truer.
Runescape is just a glorified chatroom.
200 hours even if you're a complete scrub?
Just looking at agility, you need a level of 80 to get a quest cape and if you average 45k xp an hour from 1 - 80 it will take approx 44 hours to get 80 agi.
That is already 1/4 of the 200 hours to get all stats up to quest cape level. Doesn't seem right?
>So what's the point of luring them then? If I am not mistaken enrage is just more damage and accuracy for araxxor, so why not just ignore them entirely?
If there's any acid left Araxxi will absorb it which makes the fight a whole lot more fun on high enrage
New gnome girls make my dick hard as fuck.
>tfw already into short stacks.
i-is it me or is it hot in here?
Should I reroll this shit?
I have honestly no clue what a good drop is.
So I'm looking at my skills , especially construction, and I'm wondering this.
Once I get to a decent level and develop the house real nice, can the it serve as a kind of HQ where I could then train stuff like farming and shit?
Recently made a new account, not sure if I should keep playing. Got to 31 combat levels and realised how repetitive this game is. Wish I could get my old account back with level 80s in stuff.
Also when I watch people on youtube maxxed out this game seems stupidly easy, killing bosses solo 4 times in a trip./
Should I play on?
Actually kind of like darkscape. I'm not a member so I can indulge in content that's normally P2P only, and I've gotten great cbt xp killing mining bots.
According to reddit there was a glitch that allowed you to repeat the fishing exp at the oyster but was quickly hotfixed.
My question is..why did people wait almost two weeks into the month to do their oyster?
I mean, enough waited to make it a big deal too.
reminder that clue scrolls are very fun and worth doing!
Whose god awful idea was it to make raids?
Why would you make something that requires 10 whole people to even start, when everyone would much rather soloboss?
It's takes for-fucking-ever to get enough people.
>use an fc
No, fuck them. They're all a bunch of elitist cunts who need everyone to have 50+ or 100+ kc. Seriously nigger? It's a fucking dps role, it ain't hard.
And then there's those times when someone failed their role and we fail a kill and then everyone ragequits and you're forced to get people again.
I hate how this is the only way to get the best tank gear and those abilities.
I hope whoever made this piece of shit content gets raped by the "refugees".
Yeah, I'm mad bro.
So do you guys think it'd be a good idea to start banking dagannoth bones with my yak to train prayer, or should i just use my bone necklace and get free prayer there? I kind of planned on training prayer just through hefin crystals, but i suppose this could be an alternative
man fuck how long does this kinda shit take from something like this
>not posting the trannies
people talk about the HLF being elitist, it's just stuff like "post yourself" threads, talking about other games like Minecraft or League, or forum games like "rank the person above you in cuteness"
Requires virtually no time or resources since it's done automatically
Superior versions of the rewards like scrimshaws if you want them, can be sold for
freemoney if you don't
The zealot's amulet gives significantly less accuracy than reaper's, and it's garbage in comparison to turmoil + reaper unless you reach 100% accuracy anyways to use the increased damage it deals. Melee doesn't need an a scrimshaw of accuracy anywhere it matters, and instead could use the attackers insignia or the vampyrism scrimshaw to avoid losing any damage output through raw DPS.
>actually taking the time out of your life to learn this shit
>thinking its in any way impressive or useful
>all for fucking runescape the easiest game to cheese in the history of MMOs
I bet you're that clown that was arguing about the price of dbones yesterday LMAO
Damn, you called my bluff. It's okay your still a worthless shit. It's good to not think, that's how I, Bellicosity, got so good at Runescape, by being so retarded and wrong that it underflows and loops over to being the smartest and most right in the world!
>posting as me and doing le "t." meme.
idk, I think its p dumb though.
You don't need it. Most of the fight has minimum times per phase, you can reach or exceed 100% accuracy without the scrimshaw, and araxxi has even less defense making the scrimshaw even worse.
Melee can get 100% accuracy on araxxor, it is debatable if magic or ranged can. Not including the Berserker auras for any style because all of them get 100% with the initial boost from those.
This is the kind of shit I have to put up with every day that I dress like an American flag (which is every day). Keep in mind this is the full "conversation" and this gun nut was completely unprovoked.
sorry for having such high thieving its only to understand the bad guys' perspective so I can catch them better
depends on how you value your time. For bosses like spidermeme and maybe hardmode bosses, possibly qbd, it may be worth it to boost your stats two higher. it costs 10k more every 6 minutes. It's just the next level of potion, like from extremes to overloads.
For another 25k, I would, if only for the prayer restoration bonus. The antifire will only be useful for QBD and antipoison will only help with Araxxor and K'ril, so if you were considering bringing these pots to either (would recommend for spider) Then yes, go for it.
Otherwise just use your supreme overloads with a brightfire or super prayer renewal potion.
You add materials and then you get a list of potential perks based off of those materials
Ultimately the perk you get is somewhat random but you can always reset and try again only losing the materials from the first attempt
I heard it does.
You can always just use area loot and check the loot once in a while.
Also post here how long it took you to get one if you do get one. I plan to do the same thing once I get a slayer helm.
Loot beam was weird, worked on spirit sapphires but not on ghostly essence, ectoplasmator or the ghost hunter goggles that dropped earlier. About 2 hours and 5k cannonballs
>you share a game with autists like these
Well, found more pics from her
Here you go friends
I had no idea she'd look like this when she took her fat girl angles
surprisingly 'healthyish' looking
And the last one that I've found

I quit and returned a year later when they created legacy combat. Quit a month later. The feel was gone. The cool crits were gone. EOC ruined runescape whether you fags would admit it or not. I still have mad respect for the game and I would come back if they would drop that fucking update.
TL;DR this game was never meant to be World of Warcraft
>take a sippy of overload
>phone starts ringing
Ayyy obviously someone care considering the amount of people that played then and the amount now.
Face it, runescape is for people who can't afford WoW and downgrade to the nearest clone.
The last day RS was alive was the last day of pre-eoc
What are some good places to train combat skills (30)? I'm finding the trolls north of Burthorpe to be pretty decent experience since it's 40 per and they die in one hit, there's got to be better places though?
>12k kills into earth warrior scroll

Haven't played rs3 since 07 came out. What do?
can more than 1 person do the same task at clan citadel? i wanted to do loom but someone was already there and looked like he was doing them fast enough so that if i went over i would impede his xp
So I got a bond two years after my first bond and these are my shit skills.
What can I skill/kill to make decent money?
Nothing. I guess you can do quests for Lamps and put it all into Farming to start doing herb runs.
You have a decent level for smithing so killing Exiled Kalphites is pretty profitable but you lack the combat levels.
that's great if you can kill them. Which you probably can with at least idk adamant gear and a anti dflame shield and some cheap potions or something. They're a stones throw from town anyways.
He should be ranging them unless his melee is significantly higher than his ranged and the stats of the dragons. A crossbow would be preferable, but thrown weapons would work too, with an antidragon shield because I'm assuming with 5 slayer he isn't packing super antifire.
maybe do this, don't seem to be nearly as good as some other stuff that drops alchables
