Yes, you already said that.
It should've been obvious that you shouldn't leave that to the computer anyway.
Is this ok, also why the fuck does this game have draws?
Even us Burgerboos know it's a piece of garbage that only exists because of contractors throwing senators kickbacks.
Not him but, no.
Planning a mission in BMS would be equivalent to planning a tactical engagement.
Planning a package in BMS implies you're setting up a flight or a combination of flights in the middle of a larger context, in this case, the dynamic campaign, to do something, say, strike some position, do an OCA strike against an airbase, etc etc, to help the conflict.
If I had to make an analogy to DCS I'd say it would be equivalent to planning a flight in the middle of an ongoing mission.
man, I want to play BMS 4.33 but I just cannot be bothered to go through the pain of setting up the controls.
DCS has spoiled me with it's modern approach to UI design.
I just cannot deal with software from the 90s anymore.
I guess it really boils down to what stick you have and reserving 30 minutes or so to use the powerpoint spreadsheet to do it or just use a pre-made profile if your stick has one.

When I make the info graph should I split them by he and ap or just leave them together?
I'll be doing napalm later.
It would be a nonsense comparison, since BMP3 has very good atgms and is way better a long range. But i can tell you BMP3 would still come out on top. Very easy!
higher rof autocannon with the same HE value

It would perform similarly to the BMP-1D.

Swear on my life I didn't buy it. My dad did.

I asked if I could have before I left and he said sure I'll never use it.
I now know why.

My formula takes that into account already, but at 1HE the effect isn't strong enough to counter the big rof difference.
Polish airforce lineup is done.
Their only SEAD aircraft is another Su-22, and their level bombers consist of Su-20s and Su-22s with lPB-250s and ZAB-250 FAEs on them. And Il-28s before 1986.
Does anyone have a profile for the logitech 3D for the SU25t like this one for the A10C?
Poland's 12 MiG-29s (3 of which were only trainers) were not delivered until late 1989-1990. They're OOTF by a few months as the timeframe is the week of July 21st, 1989. In addition, the few MiG-29s they did have were strictly CAP and thus do not show up in the strike fighter list.
Most of Poland's MiG-29s are actually ex-luftwaffe MiG-29Gs delivered after the end of the cold war.

How the fuck do you take on a formation of F-15s in any Russian jet? 1 on 1 it's easy to juke them and then rape them in WVR, but against multiple F-15s you'll always get slapped by his two other wingmen, even if you're on one's tail. Doesn't help that the R-27 series is absolutely useless while AMRAAM eats flankers for breakfast.
Never said it wasn't a meme tactic. It can work against multiple sometimes but any engagement against multiple F-15s will always have you at a disadvantage unless you have a vastly superior force.

Relax senpai, they're actively working on missiles.
Don't forget that missiles follow targets perfectly with no tracking delays and no optimization of intercept route depending on remaining total energy
A missile will correct for even barrel rolls where the target maintains the same heading causing the missile to burn energy attempting to follow the target when there is no change in direction of travel.

Truth be told, ED hasn't really done anything for the past 10 years, ever since LOMAC was released.
Everything that's happened to LOMAC/FC/DCS seems to have been fueled or instilled by 3rd party content creators, rather then ED itself.
>it still automatically draws in ships on the map
>it still automatically gives your position on the map
Why? I can live with it drawing in my own position. But why does it draw in other ship's locations as well? You can determine the bearing and distance manually, so you can draw them in on your map manually.
I haven't gotten to prototype units yet. I realized my mistake after posting this.
I'm going to start work on redfor in like 4 hours if anyone wants to help me I would appreciate it alot.
If I remember correctly, they don't give you access to any of the tools you'd need to determine your own position, so auto-marking yourself is necessary. You are right though, I'm surprised they mark enemy boats. Is there another option somewhere? I know for SH5 all of the map options aren't with the realism settings but in the map settings.
It's a little difficult to compare a subsim game to a flight simulator. Basically you can hop between the different tasks on a sub or let your crew do the work for you. Most of the games have a modeled hydrophone system (although SH5's is bugged and needs a community patch), maps and charts to mark enemies and determine firing solutions, periscopes and the associated knobs for entering target information, and deck guns (which are pretty arcady). The real fun in the game for me come from IDing targets with the periscope by referencing books, determining target heading and speeds with a stop watch and angular measurements, and waiting that extremely long minute while you see if your torpedo was on target. Enemy boats have subsystems modeled, so you can shoot for the engines to disable or the ammo caches to make a big explosion. Unfortunately, SH5 has a HP model for enemy ships, but that can be modded.
In terms of avoiding detection, I think all the games model the thermal layer, and account for battery power, oxygen levels, and compressed air. The subs themselves also have damage models.
>implying 50% acc 21 ap is a "very good atgm"
>implying it can fire both its 100mm and 30mm cannon
>implying 35pts is cheaper than 35pts
I am probably not looking in the right place then.
Like I said, I don't mind my own position to be drawn in, simply because the game doesn't support that sort of navigation manually (triangulation at night would be very cool for instance).
I just want the enemies to not appear on the map so I have to determine everything myself, glad to hear I am mistaken and that I can indeed switch it off.
>I just want the enemies to not appear on the map so I have to determine everything myself, glad to hear I am mistaken and that I can indeed switch it off.
Thats possible to turn off. Under the realism settings in the campaign before you go on a mission.
Because you didn't disable contact update and you're the captain, not the whole goddamn crew, determining your position should be the navigation/observation officers' job. If you want the enemy icons to be still active but not 100% accurate play NYGM.
>the game doesn't support that sort of navigation manually
If does if you mod it.
Also 100% realism is fucking retarded as it disable periscope stabilizing.
Modding the fuck out of them is mandatory with every installment:
SH3 has Living Silent Hunter 3 if you want to just have fun, GWX for a nice albeit ancient middle ground mod, NYGM if you're hardcore. You'll have to install other mods on top of those too (like HSIE's hardcoded fixes, a GUI that isn't total shit and tribute to manual targeting), look in the second to last thread for a small list I wrote. Or maybe I'll dig it up later, crosslink it here and maybe make a pastebin if I can be bothered with it, but only about SH3, I'm not too acquainted with SH4 and fuck SH5 as it's still buggy even with mods.
>I think all the games model the thermal layer
SH3 doesn't in vanilla.
I would definitely be interested in having something organized for SH3. I've really only played 5 and would be glad to sacrifice some visual fidelity for an overall better experience. Tracking down the 'right' mods on subsim has been too great a barrier to entry for me though.
1. It's one of the best atgms
2. it can, though not at the same time.

>tfw you learn how to properly use the SPO-15

The arkan is fantastic at bradley raping. It kills anything 7AV and below in one hit, which includes prickly things like M8 AGS and ADATS.
It' the cheapest 2800 ATGM thrower in the game, and while the stabilizer is bad, it does have one. Compared to other IFV's it gets 50% more ATGM's to shit out.
You might not think it's a big deal, but a gaggle of BMP-3's shitting ATGM's at you from 2800 is a pain to deal with.
Full Spectrum Warrior isn't actually a shooter, it's like an over the shoulder squad command game. Honestly it ends up playing more like a puzzle game because of the way it works. It's a game I find more "academically" game than actually fun, mostly because it's such a novel and unique approach to this kind of game.
They also included a mission of the US Army version of the game as a bonus, which was a little different and designed specifically for training soldier tactics.
It was a game for the OG Xbox though. I don't know if it got a PC port or anything.
>It's a game I find more "academically" game than actually fun
Oops, fucked that up in editing. I meant that it's a game I find more "academically interesting" than fun or especially good.

I just want to play a game without some fag quitting 10 minutes in.
the speed is what makes arkan a good atgm and the tow 2 a mediocre one. Tow 2 is only good on recon bradley which can survive the long-ass travel time, on anything else it's trash.
fast travel speed can even make something like chumat, which you'd think is trash because of its range, quite good. Its lack kills the tow
Welcome to wargame, enjoy your stay. Host lobbies called "newbies only" and clench long enough for you to get good and start actually enjoying the game. Alternatively, there used to be newbie games organized in the wgg steamgroup, just join the chat and ask.
The tow-2 is not any slower than every other saclos atgm.
Chu mat is very far from being trash at 60% acc. It's not any faster than other saclos atgm either, it just seems so because less range means less travel time.
In other terms, fuck off mosque.
Truly a masterpiece.

How fucking new to sub shit are you. If you don't have the right mods going in shallow waters is detrimental to you rather than destroyers. And please don't tell me you spent 4 days submerged.
Also why in the hell would you crashdive unless you're sure that the destroyer already saw you? In cases like that you go silent, dive until you're at like 40 meters, and only then start changing course. Also you got really lucky that the torps hit AND actually exploded.
>How fucking new to sub shit are you. If you don't have the right mods going in shallow waters is detrimental to you rather than destroyers
I know, I wasn't THAT close to the coast.
>And please don't tell me you spent 4 days submerged.
>Also why in the hell would you crashdive unless you're sure that the destroyer already saw you?
I thought it unlikely that he hadn't located me.
>Also you got really lucky that the torps hit AND actually exploded.
Indeed, didn't make it any less satisfying though, cruising by a stones throw away as they join the fish.
Assuming you use mods like GWX or NYGM, both with HSIE and Stiabler's hardcoded fixes:
Magnetic fuses are best if not used AT ALL in SH3. Keels seem to very rarely break in two, so if the torp detonates your target will more often than not end up with sailing very low on the water, but without sinking (which means retarded deck gun attacks or having to waste another fish). You can't even set the "historically correct" depth for breaking ships' backs either because the torpedoes will not detonate if you do that. They also have the tendency of prematurely exploding if you fire them when there is bad weather (if you use the mods I listed, that's basically the only viable fuse if there is bad weather: if you fire the torpedo and a too shallow depth it will breach and sink, and the depth that causes the torp to breach is dependent on the wind's speed). And I'm talking about post norwegian campaign magnetic fuses. Pre norwegian campaign magnetic fuses might as well not exists.
All in all you're much better off if you just use impact fuses (those will almost always cause the target to list and eventually sink, even in shallow waters).
There are some exceptions I can think of such as:
1. You're GODLY with your firing solutions and you know the exact location of your target's boiler room. A magnetic fuse torpedo that detonates right below the boiler is practically guaranteed to take care of every civilian ship with one shot, but as I said you have to be REALLY good with your solutions.
2. Your target is a heavily armored battleship. In that case aim at the main guns. If the solution is good and you're lucky you can cause secondary explosions. You usually have some leeway with the solution too.
3. You stumbled upon a sailing boat/a fishing vessel or a fucking sampan. Pepper it with the AA gun then ram the piece of shit, that way you'll not only satisfy Poseidon but also get your tonnage.
4. You got yourself in a really tight situation, for instance it's late in the war, and you attacked a convoy while there's clear weather. The destroyer escort just won't fucking give up, they will rarely get fooled by your decoys, and maybe to top that off you can't go too deep because you took hull damage.
BUT, you have an acoustic guided torpedo. Why would you set it to magnetic fuse if they're unreliable? Because by the point you get those torps magnetic detonators will reliably work in good weather, and they will detonate even if they get close enough to the propellers (destroyers can easily outrun acoustic torpedoes because their speed is intentionally limited), and your goal isn't to sink the destroyer that is depth charging you - crippling its speed or disabling its engine outright is more than enough.
If you decide to use one of them, you should do the following: set it to run as shallow as the wind speed will allow it to (in the case we are considering there will barely be any wind at all), set the fuse to magnetic, go silent (you should already be in silent mode anyway unless you took damage and have to fix important shit or pump out water, and if you're reloading your torpedoes underwater while being hunted you're a fucking retard), fire it, VERY slowly dive to 25 meters, change course while keeping your speed very low (manually set it to 1 knot, any more than that and the torp could very well start following you rather than its intended target).
Also crash diving is a sure way to give away your position to nearby destroyers. I tend to use it only if I visually spot a plane or I bump in an enemy ship while sailing during really limited visibility.
Who wanted SEAD times?
I took a break from my bomber tests to do them for you.
My experiments might be kinda flawed though. The times are based on them destroying one target, so those that fire 2 missiles at a time are going to have pretty high times.
>only use is flinging itself against it's counters
>if everything goes perfectly and you fire off both pairs, you can only use it every 6 min
No wonder it and the MiG25BM are complete shit
Only 1 blufor bomber was unable to destroy the test target.
That was it's second trial. The first was the same result.
Redfor has already had one fail.
Not him but def play the original first. The sequel is kind of different. But I loved full spectrum warrior it was one of my fondest military games as a kid. I actually replayed it maybe 6 months ago
That's why I started this project. Some bombers look good on paper but just suck in practice.
I'm enjoying the work so far and hoping for a good final result.
>the f-35 is actually going to be a successful fighter
You know meme doesn't mean effective, every vehicle isn't meme just because it can do what it was designed to do, like a bomber killing soft targets is pretty damn obvious. So are Tiger tanks destroying medium and light tanks.
it's an allright plane but it was born an attacker. Just superimpose the mental image of a Frogfoot on pic, it even got the shval.
In mah cunt we are gonna buy them to scrap our old attackers.
AMRAAMs were slapped even onto Harriers, didn't make them super hurrduurr 5th generation fighters that shoot down flocks of enemies
DCS has a way of setting a button as a modifier. I'm not sure how all of that works though, which is why I asked for someone to upload the configuration file so I don't have to struggle with it and can conserve my efforts for actually learning how to use the planes.
thanks, I could actually use it. I always set my buttons to silly shit and I tell to myself 'oh if I could only use it as modifier ...'
>tfw this option is not on BMS
>tfw no F-16
Here is an example, I just created a new modifier the letter "g" on my keyboard, you select the device where the modifier is coming from then the button itself, you can select it from a drop down menu or just press it. Once its created, you push the modifier+whatever button for the binding.
I also included an example of a modifier I already have in place for the F-15C, in this case "JOY_BTN4", you can then see what I have "JOY_BTN4+JOY_BTN24" bound to and also what I have "JOY_BTN24" bound to on its own.
Keep in mind you have to recreate a modifier for each module.
oh boy here we go
I don't get how people think that a country that spends 70-80 bn a year on its military is going to keep pace technologically and qualitatively with a country that spends 575-600+ bn a year on its military
That's why any shithole can spend 1000 times less to develop only ICBM's, still fuck everyone's shit up, and you can't do anything with it no matter how much you spend on tech.
>conduct several successful grach runs on convoys
>land safely at home
>decide to F2 around and see what everyone else is doing
>mfw a mig 21 dogfights an f-15 and wins
Except any shithole can't go and develop ICBMs.
Its unconfirmed that North Korea even set off an atomic bomb, let alone one at all, and it took them 60 years.
What any shithole can do is irrelevant anyways because I was comparing US and Russian military expenditure.
Standing Naval Force Atlantic is tasked with conducting anti-submarine warfare operations in the North Atlantic. Time to go hunting.
how do I git gud at GTOS
legit only battle I've won was defencive with russians where I had absolute superior position on an hill overlooking a huge flat area.
Right now i'm defending the sokolvna or whatever village in the 1942 summer campaign, I have superior reverse slope positioning, well planned out MG firing lines and i've cut down drowes of natzhees but I'm getting fucked by arty
Yea sorry I was mixing my translation anyways
Raumshiff means spaceship, still kinda generic
Try these if you want German ship classes
Or of course just go for WWI/WWII naming conventions
please hit me with the criticism stick again. I plan to use this for 2v2s and 3v3s on forested terrain with some clearings. Mostly expecting to fight blufor motos, maybe a longbow and mi-24 swarms.
So the Patrol Areas have been marked. CINCLANT wants non-aggressive EMCON. Time to start dropping sonobuoys everywhere. Minimal threat of Russian aircraft in the area but there are radar installations all over Norway that should give me at least a decent heads up. Problem there is a lack of a carrier group or really anything that could carry out an intercept.
For some reason I have been given access to nuclear weapons, although I am being told I am not authorized to use them. Huh.
Why would you compare it then?
The UdSSr was nothing like the Roman Empire in terms of well just about anything.
Just because they are both failed Empires?
Oh and I think there is a slight difference between collapsing because of internal problems and being overrun by Goths.
>Investment in military nobody else could even dream of
>Biggest standing army
>Policy makes them increasingly unpopular amongst other countries while also making regular people jealous of their living standards.
I think US has a lot of similarities with the Roman Empire.
I guess the Roman Empire had the advantage that they didn't personally teach the Goth to make all their technology, then ship all their skilled labour to Germania.
What does the future hold for attack helicopters?
Will the US ever do something like the Comanche again?
Are rotary and fixed wing drones the future?
Pic semi related
It is both. If you have the original it adds the campaign to it, if you do not, you get access to just the campaign in Northern Inferno.
Only air base I have in Norway is Andoya, and it only has some Orions. I'm assuming this falls outside STANAVFORLANT's jurisdiction.
Alright here's some then
Omne Datum Optimum
Papa (latin for pope)
The Goths played a large role but you need to read up more if you think that's the only reason the Empire fell. A faltering economy for example is one of the things that helped usher in the fall.
Everyone of those little colorful rectangles is a Flashpoint map.
I don't think any of the current locations are suitable for a Polish ME against POMCUS forces, so I might end up making another.
im guessing it is up to the makers of the campaign, but they surely wouldnt sit ass with f-5s and f-104s if the russians started flying sorties just off the coast, jurisdiction or not
You're comparing America to the Roman Empire at its height, not to when it fell some 300 to 400 years later.
The Roman Empire towards its end was virtually none of those things you listed.
The only similarity that could be drawn is that they both exist/ed as the unitary superpower in their world at some point.
>Policy makes them increasingly unpopular amongst other countries while also making regular people jealous of their living standards.
Russia is the only country in recent years to see a sharp decline in favorable views towards America.
Guess what, america isn't actually the most civilised, highest producing or most sophisticated anymore either.
>Russia is the only country in recent years to see a sharp decline in favorable views towards America.
Yeah i am sure the entire middle east has had their views on america improved the past 14 years.
I'm strongly suspecting this being the first mission it's just a routine ASW op that will provide some narrative for a declaration of war and the rest of the campaign.
Speaking of which, I set up patrol paths and hit GO and it turns out the North Sea is full of ships. Greens are confirmed neutral (typically civilian). Yellow contacts are unknown and need to be investigated.
Oh man. There's a Soviet nuclear sub 8.3nm from one of my surface groups. It can carry 20kT warheads. Neat.
Oh, I don't think they were the only reason.
I think that the relatively peaceful fall of the USSR is unprecedented.
And as you already mentioned it is a shitty analogy to begin with.
America wasn't popular to begin with there, however the favorability has remained roughly the same, albeit low. Still that is not "increasingly unpopular"
>Guess what, america isn't actually the most civilised, highest producing or most sophisticated anymore either.
When did I ever say it was? Regardless, it is right up there with other western nations in regards to things like HDI and GDP per capita, some thing that Russia can't espouse seeing that its ranked 50th in HDI and has a four figure per capita GDP, lower than some African nations.
Nations like Ukraine, Georgia, and the Baltic states have seen an increase. Belarus could be counted however.
Yes it is.
GDP is a useless measure in today's world.
But okay fine you did not say it, but the original point was, that Rome wasn't actually that great in the end even if Romans and many other people think so, and US isn't looking that great now either, and saying "lel we waste more money than anyone else" doesn't actually mean that US is producing a lot of things, or that they are producing good things, it only means they are wasting a shit ton of money on things like 1 trillion dollar plane developement programs, and producing M1 abram tanks to a 1980 standard, then putting them straight into storage, because of lobbyism.
Lobbyism = Much money spend badly.
And a second nuclear sub. This one has a much bigger arsenal. Think it's time to send out a few of those Orions from Keflavik.
I agree that lobbyism isn't good for the budget and that there is waste.
I agree that Rome isn't necessarily good and it can't really be compared to America anyways.
And according to whom is the F-35 development a waste? You'll get a million different answers from a million different people. My original point was that regardless of what you think of it, its a trillion dollars worth of research and technology that Russia ends up getting outpaced by due to the large differences in economy. Hence the initial 600bn>80bn. Its not so much what they're spending it on rather than the fact that the US has that much more to spend overall.
Yea they increased so much they got their shit beaten, now they are good little pro Russians
no such thing, also the countries split.
But you forget the balkans where, while traitor politicians may have improved their standing, the people certainly haven't improved their views on america.
>Slovakia, czech republic
The F-35 is a waste because there is no way this thing is good enough to justify the price it took developing it.
There isn't even a guarantee that stealth even works, this stealth technology was developed with old doppler radars in mind, and it took so long that the radars they were meant to counter became obsolete over a decade ago.
There are other flaws in this concept like, how are you gonna be radar invisble if you have a big radar broadcasting on your plane, in order to be invisible you'd need to turn it off, in which case you wouldn't be able to detect any other plane anyway, even if they were not radar invisible.
Stealth fighters are niche, and spending this much money on technology that is so easily counterable is a waste.
Ukraine does still exist as both a government and a nation state. It just happens to have a separatist state that contains ~10% of its total popualtion.
Czech Republic and Slovakia are mostly divided or unsure, and the same can be said for some Balkans states like Croatia.
Poland on the other hand is largely favorable.
Even if that is true my original point still stands. Its research and development that Russia hasn't and can't afford to conduct. The fact that America can throw away so much money at Military Project XYZ, regardless of whether or not it is a huge success or a dumpster fire shows the ability of the American economy and budget to fund these projects in comparison to Russia.
But Russia is making thier own projects, and so far they are seemingly much more successful. They are actually being completed and implemented.
Maybe i am forgetting something but aside from the F-35, LCS, and a super carrier thats barely different from the one it's replacing, what exactly are these projects that america is completing?
Imagine a 3D first person truck driving simulator where you need to drive a supply truck through 10 km of battlefield to help out some guys getting shredded on Elena. Arty, bombers, recon teams and whole battlegroups are out there to get you. You gotta use secondary routes and go outdoors with a risk of getting stuck. You get uprades like armor, better engine, some weaponry like an autocannon, atgm and anti-air missiles but you can't get everything.
MINIMUN SPEED ON THE ROAD IS 150 KM/H
Man, this is my wet dream.
The Russians just launched a Starbright.
looks like you haven't seen the news
A few more Aegis systems for destroyers
4 Virginia class subs
Some space equipment
Shitload on missile defense
The F-35 and Gerald R. Ford Class are the biggest expenditures I believe.
Well Here is a list of programs the russians have developed or are developing since the past 10 years, just from memory, apart from the PAK-FA i know of no delays or cancellations.
>Russian Combat ships
6 Admiral Gorshkov-class frigates
6 Admiral Grigorovich-class frigates
3 Borei class BM submarines
12 Yasen-class submarine
3 Improved Kilo-class submarines
Atleast 3 Lada-class submarines
Don't know how many of these they are building
But apparently they should receive around 80 new combat ships between 2013 and 2020, of which many are already build now.
S-400 is actually finished.
9M123 Khrizantema ATGM
AK-12 to replace the AK-74M
There is probably more but i grow tired of listing.
That's one less Starbright. Still 3 more. Two heading towards the UK, one headed towards Iceland. Not good.
>slavaboos actually believe this
Most of this shit is in development hell, proposal stages or just upgrades of existing units.
lets not mention that most of this shit wont come to fruition anyway, you know it, I know it, everybody knows it.
Just noticed that it has no tail rotor. What the fuck, gits?
I love drones. Drones are the future.
Almost 2200 in the North Sea. Just had two bogeys pop up. No ID yet but they're definitely not NATO and I can't imagine there would be any civilians in the area. Olenegorsk air base is just off the border with Norway so they could be TU-26s.
Use contextual menus. Right-click on everything. All the time. Don't be afraid to play the game in real-time or very low time compression. Don't be afraid to lose? Anything specific you don't get?
Also, just bagged a Russkie sub. Nimrod dropped some sonobuoys, found it, and sent it to the bottom of the ocean.
I guess frequently I find that I can carry out the task, but the finer elements are lost on me, like some of what I see baloogan doing with fine tuning the weapon selection or SEAD (I'm terrible at that). Also it seems I frequently missing subs with both surface and subsurface ships, like I can't get good hits or if I do I waste a shit ton of ammo on a target.
Depending on the timeline it can be a real chore. Sonobuoys on ASW aircraft work best for me. Surface groups work as well but they're obviously not as responsive as aircraft.
Soviet naval forces have taken about 30% casualties so far, and all I've lost is a chopper.
Surface group found another sub and sank it with a torpedo. Soviet forces have disengaged. Russians lost 4 subs. I lost a Sea Knight.
Quick preview of the next scenario. If this is a thing people want to see more of, I will report back later today if I can find some time to game, or tomorrow at the same time(ish).
the combat does tho because it's essentially HARPOON or Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations.
>American economy and budget to fund these projects in comparison to Russia.
No, it just proves how little of a shit our politicians care about how their spending effects the actual country. Nothing else.
This shit is Bradley 2.0
Why would you want to buy falcon 4? All you need is the exe which you can grab from somewhere to play BMS. Paying for falcon 4 isn't giving money to the original devs or going to help falcon 5 become reality.
im not sure thats why im asking. ive been wanting to get into bms but when i looked into it before i had people tell me i needed the old hard copy off ebay. so what do i need just to download the exucatable from somewhere?
Was looking around the Armory in Red Dragon and noticed a good number of the modeled infantry weapons seem to be wrong.
E.g. the French command squad shows a FAMAS instead of the NF-1 MG, the Deckungsgruppe show an Armbrust instead of a Carl Gustav, etc
Would DCS multiplayer be playable with other people at like 300 ping and ~100kbps data transfer? Does it frequently have multi-gig updates?
I'm away from home at the moment so my connection's good enough for the 20gb initial download, but I'm curious how useful it'll be once I'm home.
I found the CMANO magnet link. Run the crack and the patcher as an admin. If anyone tries it out, please get back to me and tell me if it works. It hasn't been letting me update but I don't know if it's a problem with my computer or if the crack doesn't work anymore.
They canceled one of the variants, which had double barrels, not the whole thing,
I'm not the same anon as >>128466017, but:
4 is american subs operating in the pacific.
5 is buggy and I don't think has the same level of detail. I've played 5 more than any other SH, and I think it's come a long way since its initial rocky introduction. That said, it lacks the crew management and is highly limiting in the subs you get to use.
You can enable new volumetric clouds in the config file and see how they suck. Good clouds are too resource heavy.
SH4 is fun as fuck if you're not necessarily looking for playing as the Germans.
>that moment when you unlock the 40mm "AA" gun
>those shifting goalposts
I thought only baddies used t-62?
Regardless, the t-62 at the point I linked got fucked by wz-550, which if you don't know has no gun. They also struggled versus ZTQ, which is one of the strongest tanks in the game and a very high bar to compete against.
>I thought only baddies used t-62?
Just because a good player used them once in a match do not make them good units, especially since in that match they performed terribly.
>the t-62 at the point I linked got fucked by wz-550, which if you don't know has no gun
In the video they also say the WZ-550 is terrible.
>which is one of the strongest tanks in the game and a very high bar to compete against.
It's like a leo1A5 with a shitter gun and less armor, the only advantage it has over other tanks is the stealth. In a straight shooting contest any other 70pt medium would wreck it.
>It's like a leo1A5 with a shitter gun and less armor, the only advantage it has over other tanks is the stealth. In a straight shooting contest any other 70pt medium would wreck it.
the nighthawk is like a shittier gr.7 with stealth, in a straight bombing contest any 150pt bomber would outbomb it
vdv90 is like a shittier morskaya with an RPG, in a straight shooting contest most other squads would rek it
yes, if you ignore the most important trait of the unit it will do worse, so lets not ignore the most important trait of the unit
Do you honestly think that leo 1a5 is better than a ztq?
The power of the ZTQ is stealth. It will lose any gun battle against a decent tank if it is spotted. Any tank at that price point that still consistently loses ZTQ when its spotted is a shit tank.
The power of m1a2 is its armor. It will lose any gun battle against a decent take if sideshotted. Any tank at that price point that still consistently loses when it is sideshot is a shit tank.
I don't get what's so complex about "don't ignore the most important facet of a unit". ZTQ doesn't magically lose its stealth. If you're spotting a ZTQ that means you're not using a 60pt tank to fight the ZTQ, you're using at least a 60pt tank and low-availability infantry recon squad pushing in the open (and if it's just one, it will only buy you like one shot). The whole power of recon units is that you can't force your magical 1v1 situation without involving other units to reveal them, turning it into a 1v2 or more. And ZTQ may lose against a 60pt tank, but add the cost of the recon squad and now you're paying more than the ZTQ price to beat it, assuming your recon squad doesn't die and leave your 1a5 blind before the job is done.
This is only not true if its leading a push, but leading a push is stupid with low armor light tanks, be it 1a5 or ZTQ.
They aren't saying the ZTQ doesn't have its benefits. They are just saying it isn't
>one of the strongest tanks in the game
which isn't that big a claim. They are also saying it isn't much of a brawler tank, so to lose to it in a spotted exchange of fire shouldn't be an assumed outcome.
It's not a brawler tank, but it is one of the strongest tanks in the game anyway. What other 60pt tank requires 90pts of units to kill it?
It's a lot more balanced at 70pts, but still at the top of its price category. I think cost-efficiency is the most important factor to evaluate units by, and when it comes to cost-efficiency units with stealth are generally the strongest the game has to offer.
Is there some big mod pack I can download and install all at once instead of spending hours digging through ancient dead links trying to figure out what mods to use? I have fond memories of playing SH3 and I want to play it again but I really don't want to bother trying to get all those mods and shit.
