At the begining with the step mentioning database entries and things, I think that's only supposed to be done if they don't already exist, as I did it and in order to recompile them, my 3ds deleted all updates and downloadable contents from my sd card.

So, with that in mind, I owned the dlc for smash and a few titles from the eshop, and they were wiped long before making an emunand and all that, so is it possible to get them back, I know the saves are gone, if I use the eshop spoof from http://pastebin.com/SjFXhB5a
I'm just asking before hand, because I don't want to waste my time to find out that I can't actually redeem the things attached to my NNID, which I believe is still active on my emunand, but I don't know how to check. Thanks

I made an improved non-kickass starter pack.

It should have everything required 3DS side (minimal PC tools) to get up and running from scratch (pre-downgrade) to CFW (multiple, rxTools default).
Additional assitive tools like SVDT (savedata manager) and Decrypt9 (extract/inject multi-tool) are also included for edge-cases.
I also took the liberty of rewriting the firmware .bat file to be more streamlined and a pretty thorough readme focusing on rxTools.
Thoughts and suggested improvements are appreciated.

Alright, I got a new problem. I put the CIAs I wanted to download in the CIA file at the 3DS root, no biggie. rxtools loads up, except the logo doesn't show up and there's black screens with a red pixel on the bottom screen. I try booting up a bunch more times with possibly unrelated freezes happening before CTRBootLoader comes up. Finally, I get back to rxtools and I get the black screen again.

Did my emuNAND die suddenly, or is this normal as you add more stuff onto the SD card? I'm running RT 10.3 on an OG 3DS.

There's no practical way to do that. To keep it not-so-technical, Decrypt9 is actually implemented in a way very similar to CFW. It requires full control of the security CPU in the system which you can't possibly get when running in the home menu (the 9 in the name refers to the ARM9 which is the security CPU). This applies to EmuNAND9 too.

There isn't really any way to generate XORpads when the system is running. Though hopefully, we'll soon be able to decrypt 7.x+ games on PC thanks to Nintendo's key failures.

16GB is the absolute minimum I'd recommend, I filled my 32GB one up surprisingly fast so 64GB is probably good if you expect to get a lot, 32GB otherwise.

Is
1) Turn on your 3DS into Homebrew Launcher (hold L, select Homebrew Launcher)
2) Run EMUNAND9
3) Select EmuNAND Manager Options > Backup EmuNAND to EmuNAND.bin
4) Once finished, turn off the 3DS and put the SD card into your PC
5) Copy the emunand.bin onto your PC. Keep it safe.
6) Open the Nintendo 3DS folder on the root of the sd card
7) Inside you should see some folders names something like "45kj6h4kjgh6kj4gk6"
8) Determine which folder represents your emuNAND (I recommend looking for the oldest backup you have. It should contain the Nintendo 3DS folder however one of the folders inside it will be missing. The missing folder is your emuNAND folder)
9) Cut/Paste the folder to your PC
10) Put the SD card into your 3DS and turn on itno emuNand (hold L, select rxTools)
11) Go to System Settings
12) Make sure you are still in emuNAND (It should say RX-E 10.3-28E or something similar)
13) Go to Other Settings > Page 4 > System Format
14) Let it do it's thing
15) Once you are formatted and back in the main menu, go back into the System Settings
16) Log into your NNID (top button). Make sure you log into your old ID, don't make a new one.
17) Once you are logged in, go back to the main menu
18) Open eShop and once you get to the store page, close it
19) Turn off the 3DS and put the SD card in your PC
20) Put the emunand.bin back onto the SD card's root, and place the emuNAND folder (names something like "984356h6kjghkjgliglyg") back into the Nintendo 3DS folder
21) Put the SD card in the 3DS and turn on into Homebrew Laucher (hold L and select Homebrew Laucnher)
22) Open EMUNAND9
23) Select EmuNAND Manager Options > Copy EmuNAND.bin to EmuNAND
24) Once finished, turn off the console
25) That's it! When you go back into emuNand, the eShop should work fine

The only thing you have to worry about on a mac is the whole dotfiles thing. Sysupdater can't handle dotfiles being present in the /update/ folder. To fix this run "dot_clean /Volumes/SDNAME/" in the terminal and it will remove all the leftover dotfiles. Make sure to eject immediately after the command finishes.
If you can't figure out the path to the sd card just drag it into the terminal and it will autocomplete it for you.

How can I install a theme on my unlinked emuNAND without screw it up?

So I've got a weird error and I want to know if there's a way to fix it without using my emunand backup.

I used sysupdater in my emunand to move from 9.2 to 9.5 on my N3DSXL (USA) and now it boots up, says "Creating Home Menu Information" and then just black screens. What should I do about this? I'm using CTR to auto boot into rxTools.

I have a few questions.

I successfully CFWd an O3DSXL, and I've been running RXTools on autoboot quite happily for a few days now. 3DS roms (mostly) work fine.

But three things:
1. How do I play GBA roms? I've downloaded the vc injected ones from the pastebins on here, but I can get an error when I try to play them. Do I need another patch or something? I can only find instructions from pre-rxtools.
2. I've updated my emunand to the latest 3DS firmware via system update, should I stop doing that once Monday's patch is released and instead leave it happily where it is?
3. Is it possible to emulate original DS games? I've heard no and it's not a big deal but I'd like to double check.

Alright, so I've been trying to get my O3DS XL modded all day and I've gotten to the point where I need some (most likely basic) assistance.
So far I've downgraded to 9.2 without a hitch, and then carried on my marry way and afterwards went to the gateway site and did a sysNAND backup, then put pasta and FBI on my SD card.
I was able to run pasta fine, but when I went to go and install FBI, i got an error stating something along the lines of invalid signature or some sort.
That's only half my issue, my other one being is I'm worried about this emuNAND everyone is talking about.
I went back and looked at a different guide and found this one: pastebin.com/HwDyhSiX
and it says for me to, after downgrading to 9.2, save my card content and format it. If I delete my card contents after going this far after the downgrading process, will I be at risk of errors?

TL:DR; When installing FBI I get an invalid signature error, and secondly if I delete my SD card content in order to start fresh like this guide says will I be risking anything?

Go through browser hax like you did early on. Clear cookies, initialize, then go to the page.

Instead of being thrown right into homebrew, thebottom screen will have a slider. Zoom in and double click the left side.

If you get an error, restart and reinitialize.Be persistant.

so i got a very specific problem pertaining to (N)3DS.

I lost my damn SD adaptor and can't get one till tomorrow, which is when i hear Nintendo will probably go into maintenance/push out a new firmware update.

So the only option i got is to insert my microSD card into my phone, plug my phone to my PC and copy the files necessary for browser/menuhax. Problem is my android phone automatically creates an 'Android' folder and another folder in the microSD card.

1) Backup emunand and backup its folder in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/ (easier method: add a _ or something at the end of the folder so you don't have to copy it off your SD card, OR cut/paste it to the root of your SD card)
2) Go in emunand system settings, pick system format
3) Let it do its thing
4) Log into your NNID on newly formatted emunand
5) Restore emunand backup and put its folder back in sdmc:/Nintendo 3DS/

Fuck all games actually use NNID on 3DS, so nah. Remember that NNID was only added later and isn't even mandatory. Really the only reason you might want an NNID is for Pokemon Bank and there's a homebrew alternative anyway.

I don't think that's the problem, because the last step after editing your sysnand nver is 7. Boot to emuNAND, run FMP, check NNID Settings.
but I can already access that and see my account on my emunand without modifying my sysnand
