Just got done downgrading my N3DS, what the fuck do I do now?

So once I've finished the FBI injection and RxTools setup, and then I select RxTools without holding L, it should bring me back to the 3DS Home menu after a time, right?

Is that how I know I've linked my emuNAND and I've done it right?

I have everything perfectly running on a n3ds 9.5 rxTools emunand.
However, I have one issue: I can't link my NNID to the emunand. I have NVER installed via BigBlueMenu, and I ran FreeMultiPatcher before accessing. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong here?

So I have it to where R boots to sysnand, and pressing nothing boots into Ctrbootmanager->cakes

Is there a way for me to still press something to load into homebrew? So I can have L = Homebrew, R= sysnand and nothing = emunand?

Also if say this is possible, would it be in the sysnand homebrew or in the emunand homebrew, cause from what I know, depending on what nand you're in, is what system the homebrew will be under.

ex: If I load homebrew through sysnand and go to homebrew-> CHMM2 to put on a theme, the theme would be appilied to sysnand and not emunand. This of course is how it owrks vice versa.

everytime I log into fbi to install over the network it always says disconnected wi-fi and going out of the app shows it does disconnect netloader.

Whats causing this?

It's not habbening. When I boot up the system while holding L, I either go straight to homebrew or get a yellow screen.

So I did the "files are corrupt" thing, but then I didn't advance to any other steps after that. Then I went to my friends house for some Smash and I used the 3DS as a controller, creating extra data on the SD card. Would this fuck anything up or should I rebuild the files again?

Well, while I wait for more concrete guides for N3ds CFW I feel like poking around the GBA emulator.

What are some good games to emulate on the system. I just tried to play Megaman Zero but the slight slow down kind of kills it (even the PSP could run GBA well).

I'm guessing just turn based RPG's and Pokemon.

Is it just me or getting CFW on n3ds is much more aggravating than o3ds? Menuhax has a much higher fail rate and Cakes barely even works.

Also, if I want to keep all my legit games and software on sysNAND I have to use TinyFormat in emuNAND right?

I want to migrate from 16GB (where there is already an emuNAND installed) to 64GB.
Now, could I just:
make an emuNAND dump via EmuNAND9,
copy all files onto the new one,
create a new emuNAND on the 64GB card
copy everything from old SD card to new one
copy dumped emuNAND over the new made one via EmuNAND9 and have everything I had installed before?

Hi /vg/, I've been having trouble updating my emuNAND so I'd like to format my SD card.
My sysNAND has been downgraded to 9.2 (O3DS) so my concern is only the SD card.
Do I format the entire thing and make the SD card one entire partition, or do I format both partitions?

I can't get the eshop to open on my n3ds with rxe9.5 emunand. Spent ages trying to research it. I installed nver with fbi in nand on emunand and have the eshop/region spoofer installed also with fbi. What am I doing wrong? I can't open the nnid settings in settings either and my legit games won't update.

dude just get a 32gb card. hell my 64gb card was only $23. walked into target, price matched amazon and that was it. It's not worth having to transfer SD cards later, from experience, it's an incredible a pain in the ass.

trying to install Menuhax as a second point of entry, but keep getting 'failed to open theme extdata'

someone said I Had to change themes at least once, but I get an error about extdata trying to change the theme as well. anyone have experience with this?

and here is the story all about how, this happened:

before anything else, I had to rebuild my database because of the dbs files
before this, I made a backup of my "Nintendo 3DS" folder because I didnt want to lose that data

then I downgraded, installed fbi to sysnand, set up emunand, unlinked sysnand

now I had FBI installed to my emunand just fine as an application
Now I replaced the "Nintendo 3DS" folder on the SD card again so that I get back all my eshop games in emunand

but this way FBI vanished on the home menu on emunand
probably because of the database or something like that, i dunno

Then I wanted to install FBI.cia via FBI in HBL, but everytime I try to install a .cia file, I get

Does it say something about databases? If so, Open the SD card:
/Nintendo 3DS/[some random hex string 1]/[some random hex string 2]/
Make a folder called dbs in there. Then make two txt files called titles and import. Rename them to title.db and imports.db. I think that fixed it for me. If there's two big folders with hex strings, just do the dbs trick for both of them.

I unlinked my NANDS by formatting my sysNAND and that killed my access to the eshop

Guys I have a real problem that isn't just me being retarded (probably), please help.

I can't get MH4U or X to work on my o3DS. Whenever I run it I get the 3DS screen and then the screens turn off for a second and then come back on and hangs for a few seconds and then

I used the same cia's on my n3DS and they worked fine, and I've installed MK7 on the o3DS and it works fine, I have no idea what could be wrong. I even tried getting mh4.3ds and converting it myself.

Any ideas? I just want to slay with my bro.

I keep getting an error 005-4273 whenever I try to use the eShop, I've went through the steps to get around the error for 022-2634 but after recovering emuNAND it locked me right back out.

can't see any of my eshop installs after installing emuNAND. asked on gbatemp's question thread and someone told me to post what i've done.

Put Starter Pack on SD
remember to backup SD
Get the CIAs for 9.2
Downgrade 10.3 -> 9.2 (via Browserhax)
Install Menuhax, then accidentally broke it (switched theme)
Add PastaCFW, FBI and EmuNAND9 apps to my /3ds folder
Start HBL (Browserhax), Start PastaCFW, System crashed
Reboot, Start HBL (browserhax), Start PastaCFW, System didn't crash!
Start HBL (browserhax), install FBI.cia
change theme again to make SURE menuhax is not active
HBL again (browserhax!) and EmuNAND9 -> make a NAND dump.
Backup SD again.
Format MicroSD to put the EmuNAND partition on there, from within emunand.
Put everything from my backup back onto the microSD, except for NAND.bin.
(I can now see my DSiWare games, but no 3DSeShop titles.)

went on to format sysNAND to unlink NANDs, propely formatting it with the SD out and re-insterting it during boot, installing rxTools and CBR; menuhax type 2, and copy my /dbs folder from backup into emunand before rebuilding.

then got told that "i did the exact same thing as that guy, the solution is to inject my NAND.bin into emunand"

so i did

If i put menu hax to auto load, does that mean its messing with rxtools? I think it is.. heres the guide
WARNING: If you can't boot into emuNAND because selecting rxTools boots into the boot manager again, then you have installed menuhax on emuNAND AND sysNAND.
This is easy to fix so don't panic. Just do the following:

1) Turn on the console and get into the menuhax (by default, hold L when booting)
2) Select rxTools BUT DO NOT ENTER MENUHAX. This means that you shouldn't be holding the menuhax trigger (default is L) while rxTools loads. If you changed the menuhax settings, you need to make sure you are NOT activating menuhax when you enter rxTools.
3) You should now boot into your emuNAND as normal
4) While in emuNAND, change your theme to disable menuhax (the specific theme does not matter)
5) Turn the console off after changing the theme.
5) menuhax has now been removed from the emuNAND and should now work as intended.


So is this the problem?

Okay, I've downgraded, I formatted my SD with EmuNAND9, and now I don't know how to get rxtools working.

I've followed this guide up to step III https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-install-a-cfw-on-a-9-0-9-2-n3ds-without-cn-oot.398394/
Now, I started rxtools, and it froze at the 'data installed, press any button to continue' now whenever I try and boot it from the homebrewlauncher, it gives me black screens. (I used pastaCFW to install the FBI installer, and it appeared on my homescreen)

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? I'm on a n3ds, and the firmware.bin I put in my rxtools folder was the 9.5 one from the CakesFW package.

I'll appreciate any help, I've been REEEEEEEEING over this the last hour.

EOIV is literally the best starting point, but it'll pretty much spoil you. It's like playing Megaman X and then going back to megaman 3. The stories aren't really connected so you won't miss anything in that department either, if that's what you're worried about.

All you really NEED to do TODAY is get menuhax on your 3ds. If you really don't have an SD card, go to the store RIGHT NOW and buy the cheapest one you can find. put smealum's starter pack on it, browserhax it and install menuhax

I had the same problems, however when I tried again it ended up working. Except I was using cakes. Just reinstall all the files again. Start with your normal boot.3dsx and just download all the files, and try again. It atleast worked for me, I even had the same problem where the bottom screen was red. Maybe I did something else prior? I dunno, all I know is that it worked the second time.

Can't you just download it form the pastebin? Maybe try loading pasta through homebrew, then load that into homebrew again, and then into cakes. See if they pop up. If not, then try loading them all back up or start from scratch if that's big of a deal. Doing cakes is really easy, the entire process is 3~ hours, which isn't so bad considering most of the wait time is backups/loading a partition on your sd
