>What is DUELYST?
DUELYST is a competitive strategy card game focused on tactical combat, squad building, and ranked ladder play.
>Play in Chrome
>Faction overview, guides and general information
The only one's I've had a miserable time with in the current meta is the Songoloids and Abysshits, and that's mainly just because Songhai always ignored positioning and aggro Abyssian is fairly hard to play around.
Haven't seen a lot of Vanar, though.
They were a timebomb waiting to happen, like current eight gates full spells songhai. They got the hilariously broken spell that made magmar broken early game for no reason. Fenrir is probably the best minion is the game and keeper of balance works wonders in vanar. If people don't complain about it they might be retarded.
Also first for ruined vetruvian. I hate playing as them now, thank you devs.
They aren't fun at all. Deathwatch STILL doesn't work like it should because minions are overpriced. Nova is a shit mechanic that also doesn't work. They are forced to play face in the most boring way possible, at least songhai is flashy.
I've only done the last three threads, but thanks.
I like control
(though these days they're more like an aura deck which is super fucking disappointing but at least I still get to cheese extra turns)
Celestial robo-Egyptians is a ballin aesthetic
Going to have the only waifu-able official art general eventually
>dont use devatate to kill a single meme fox because it wouldnt be good value
>he only has 4 cards in hand
>im on 24 hp
>there no way he can otk me r-right?
Sarlac used to be the staple card for abyss before it and Lady Locke got nerfed
Since those nerfs though Abyss is pretty much forced to play aggro burn and a 3 mana 1/1 doesn't fit into that build.
Thanks. Do you think a triple nova is too much as lategame?
I managed to pull off some good wins against songhai (the majority of what I've met in silver) just staying in corner with shadow creep all around me, but don't know if this will work on higher ranks.
Here is a rank 0 songhai deck, updated to fit the current ladder meta. Standard OTK fox deck, but I've fine tuned it a lot over the course of the month.
mini-jaxes, more vanar on ladder since buff = more jaxes
>tuskboar + juxta
can bring units away from lyonar to wail on, or send a provoke minion far away
>juxta + any creature + mask of shadows
can kill pretty much any early threat, or help you get behind the enemy general if you juxta a pig. there are a lot of early combos that can net huge value, and most don't require the key components of the fox combo.
Anyway, I'm tired of songhai and am mostly playing vet nowadays so I thought I'd share. Thoughts?
Well, no more hiding name i think. It's getting boring.
if it makes you feel better, you already added me once
like i said, it was your wind runner vet deck that got me to 4chan.
We are deader than this general. Natural doesn't work for shit against aggro and swarms. Kinetic sucks. Jaxi alone kills the faction, I run tigers only to kill the minijaxis and it's still bad. Fuck jaxi, that card killed the game for me.
>making a game last way longer than it needed to
>he conceded so I didn't even get to deal the finishing blow after a half hour match
>2 bloodmoon priestesses
>2 reapers of the 9
>no consuming rebirths
>no soulshatter pacts
>no shadow reflections
>no night sorrows
>sarlac, darkfire sacrifice
>inner oasis pyros, we get pushed to the top of the board
>eventually two bloodmoon in a turn from darkfire
>blast the bloodmoons, ???
>KotV's my Silvertongue Corsair
>blast them, ???
>reaper of the 9
>sarlacs finally take out my pyros
>summon ayymara somewhere, draw a Siphon energy
>he summons jaxi which I now have to dispell instead of Sarlac and save any future dispells for other Jaxis
>Daemonic lures my Ayymara and kills with weenies and sarlac
>keep trying to provoke him in place with ayymara, rock pulv and cosmic fleshes but he uses weenies and Ritual banishing and daemonic lure again
>equipping blast and +2 to take out stuff
>never drop below 18 i think
>3 sarlacs on the field
>daemonic lures my ayymara to the top right
>bring it down to the middle row and summon a scarab
>he summons KotV again but it lines up with my blast which I destory and finish off KotV with my General
>sarlac attacks me, respawns and he summons a Black Solus near the scarab
>somewhere the ayymara gets killed, attack with the scarab, summon pyro
>trying to get in his face but nothing sticks
>then I finally draw Blast artifact
I'm reading what I wrote and nothing seems accurate. My memory sucks I guess but seriously that was too long of a match. I had the life lead the entire time and he just wouldn't stop. I was actually at 21-25hp and he was under 9hp for a long time until the last two turns.
Personally, I strongly dislike that one faction (Songhai) may as well be just be a Solitaire minigame. The opponent inputs don't matter, the board doesn't matter. Why are they even part of the game?
Also, I dislike RNG triggers, and the currently best 2 drop (Jaxi) is one of the worst offenders. RNGesus can just win you the game with this card and it has hardly anything to to with you outplaying your opponent.
There's also a 5 drop (Keepr of the Vale) that's far to efficient for its cost too.
Whatever happens in the next patch will tell me if I'm willing to invest into this game or not.
I never leave home withtout 2 x Priestess and Shadowdancer. With Soulshatter Pact OFC. 3/1 weenies are scary shit. Esiecially if they didn't dispell your Darkmoons. It becomes an endless wellspring of 1/1s.
I enjoy playing Abby just for that for the greater part.
Next/last turn. Got his mechaz0r killed in this match.
Abby can make almost any threat relevant. I dunno why you are expecting they are going to remove EVERYTHING. They will probably waste all their removals on other nasty thigs Abby has in store.
Depends. You best card in any Token deck is Shadowdancer anyway. If you can keep it safe, Plasma Storm/Tempest will only screw the Mag/Lio player.
Also Rook is completely worthless correct? He just doesn't seem playable in the slightest.
It's the name of the card, Third Wish
here's your you. Already one guy added me to trash talk after I beat him with it. Still not enough to get out of Silver tho, I need to build a better deck.
Is there any point to this? Would it be op if it affected both spells and minions?
NP. Doesn't amtter and I had an excuse to blog more.
Also, I don't get HOW people aren't complaining about Vanar removal.
2 mana for nullifying one creature for a turn, 4 damage and draw a card, 2 damage dispel that affects units immune to spells. It's way too much when it starts hitting you all at once.
Who cares about single target removal? Why not play a faction that can kill everything at once?
The English Wiki doesn't have this card, but the Japanese wiki does. Also there's a Japanese wiki.
Holy hell this thing is busted as fuck
A 5 cost card can usually live trough that. Do you know what a 5 cost card can't deal with? 2 mana back into hand.
If they make it 0 man and only working on Vanar card it's see hilariously little play compared ot now, because ATM it's only used to cuck you opponent out of his turn for cheap.
And yet I got there last season with this bundle of joy.
You should only be playing it on a minion that is active unless you will die if you dont. Against vanar you shouldnt expect any TW minion to stay out during your opponents next turn
just think of it as a 3+ damage old chromatic cold against vanar
alternatively it is extremely safe for vet to sit on the vanar side of the map since you can snipe with blast minions and their infiltrates wont get bonuses against you
>no removal in hand for 3 turns
>he dispels and destroys it
>drops his ayamara next turn
>can't deal with it
I don't even fucking care anymore. Wake me up when next patch hits.
>They break exactly as easily as every other weapon in the game
>3 mana 3/3
>deathrattle summon another 3/3
who thought this was ok?
Too expensive. Some low cost artifact equipper would be godlike in artifact Vet.
the same person who thought 7/9 + increase enemy's spells' mana costs for 6 is a good idea. I think that retarded faggot just looked at that 8/8 golem and half-assedly switched stats up.
They're trying to go for a minor deathwish theme with Vetruvian which kind of fits with their Egyptian aesthetic so I can't fault them for that. I would prefer they just make the effect actually useful.
Like maybe he equips some OP-ass artifact unique to his effect if they really want to keep the artifact-related effect.
Why do /all/ artifacts have 3 durability anyways? It's so limiting to design space. Should just be a stat each artifact has.
Songhai is a different case since they cannot be compared with anything as a design choice, but right now vanar is miles better than vet and lyonar. Vet is a one trick pony that you can chromatic without a single fuck and lyonar gets fucked early by fenrir and late with hailstone prison. Vanar has the best removal, the best minions and it's the second best faction when it comes to abuse keeper.
Why would you think Lyonar/Vet are better in their current state? maybe in ideal conditions with 3 x 3rd Wish or Lyonar with god knows what, but the most busted Vanar cards are ones most everyone playing them has.
But vanar doesn't have the best minions, they only have bluegoblin (which is avoidable by risking avalanche) and fenrir which are good. Other factions get better keeper revives since vanar's only good non neutral revive is fenrir.
"Only Fenrir" Also, when he drops that + 2 to all mionions, the Fenrir will fuck you up something fierce. Also, the whole issue with Fenrir it takes 4 turns for your general to take two of them out if you get Hailstone'd.
tl'dr having Fenrir means they are pretty damn high up there under "strongest minions".
Since you are clearly just having a problem with fenrir maybe you should dispell it? Its not like vanar has real faction lategame threats, voice of the wind is still cleared by every AOE ever and past 3 mana vanar's minions will all be neutrals that you can beat with your faction minions/spells.
But you dont need shrouds, if you are having a problem with fenrir then dispell it. What exactly is vanar going to do lategame that requires you to dispell? Siphon energy isn't going to do shit to vale or razroback. Vanar needs fenrir to make it out of early game, so if you stop fenrir you can take control of the match.
If I dispell it he still leaves the 3/3 body there, which is already a fair deal since dispels aren't cheap and the body is still good. It needs a dispell and a removal to deal with him, and he's a 3 cost minion. Not even portal guardian was this bad.
Vanar doesn'r need lategame threats, no one gives a flying fuck about lategame threats in this game, we are reaching the point where playing a 6 mana minion is risky as shit since you are investing your turn in summoning only one body. Vanar lives for the razorback anyways so it's just more efficient to summon a bunch of 2-4 mana minion and buff them to oblivion. I don't have a problem with dispelling, I have issues with bodies left in the field. And guess what, last patch made it impossible to AOE things so I can't do shit against them.
Doing what you are describing is a great way to get cucked by makator/holly imo/etc
Why are you playing 6+ mana minions? The only viable 6+ mana minions that have ever been are makator/elder/archon, most factions best minions are 5 mana or less. a vanilla 3/3 is nothing and dispells are cheap what are you talking about? 0 mana global dispell is 0 mana, 2x2 dispell is 2 mana come on anon even a 2 drop can kill fenrir if he is dispelled.
There is still plenty of strong aoe in this game, it's no longer a free boardwipe though which is good.
Honestly just go play abyss facerace if you hate vanar that much, vanar struggles greatly with high aggro although its not nearly as bad as last patch thanks to chormatic cold, early removal that vanar desperately needed.
>implying magmar isn't completely dead
>Positioning your units so badly thhat they hit more than 1 unit and the general
>Implying you can silence jaxi + fenrir + voice of the wind
>Implying that silence matters when they can just shit ot 2/3 and the buff them without a care
>when they just autowin early if they pull of a solitude
>Implying they won't just jax + razorback anyways which is almost as broken as the old third wish
>saying that you can shrug off a fucking 3/3 that you cannot just remove like any other fucking minion in the game with a straight face
>all the hard counters are dead/not played!
>they will always be able to spam out a bunch of lowdrops and razorback and also not get shit on by aoe
>I will never have any answers for anything vanar does
>none of my cards matter
>in the end it doesnt even matter
>2 mana 2/3 that can heal anything is two mana and can takes two hit from a general
>2 mana 2/3 that gives all nearby minions +1 Atk
>3/2 that does nothing is 2 mana and dies to a general
What the fuck is the point
