Outside of 8 or so select stages which require mastery (or dumb luck) of a different swing trick, most of the game was a bit of a breeze for me, particularly with checkpoint girls to cheese some of the backpack collecting.

Crab boss with the spikes can bugger off though. Had to rely on RNG for the oranges coming out of the crate to not hit me as it was hard to get off of them reliably from their corner.

I've dabbled in the original on this version of the game. I find its rope is more reliable for building momentum without getting into a mess of springing back/forth, but you lose the ability to be able to climb walls easily as a result.

Marvelous had Luminous Arc Infinity, VD and Net High. The latter may have bombed, but it's a pretty high quality game.

Also Compile Heart. Crystal, Trillion and MeiQ are all decent for what they aimed to do.

Is Operation Abyss good for a new player in that genre, or should I shill for Demon Gaze or Dungeon Travelers 2? Had a Vita for forever gathering dust, and it seems like the best platform to play that kind of game.

Personally I would say they are too different to compare.

DT2 is best compared to Etrian Odyssey in my opinion, although they are still different enough to make it difficult.

It's much easier to project your expectations based Demon Gaze, if you've played that. By this I mean you can expect similar bgm (it's a mixture of vocaloid-like songs and normal ones), underlying system etc.

Same. I have VLR, S;G, FW, GE2 and SKSV plats, which are almost all progression related. But RPG are real bullshit for trophies, specially Tales of games.

I'm also 2 trophies away from AnS+ plat, but I'd have to do the whole game again because I didn't save for Shurelia end, and I need to do the reuse Ion trophy as well.

I'm on the 2nd assignment of the third year. That part with Lionela's puppets teared up my esyes a little. The same happened with the "fight" between Rorona and Cory (I hope everything'll turn out well).
Also I'm fucking up pretty bad, I got all 10/10 and done all the subquest, but this time I'll prolly get a 8/10 and I'll miss 4 extra assignments. The difficulty's gone up a little, I like it.
