Besides, I acknowledged the possibility it might take longer. 6 months is what I believe is a realistic LOWER-END estimate (assuming the average development speed since they started using Github for issue tracking, how long it would be to fix high-priority issues, finish content they've said they certainly will fix, complete the missing core systems like dynamic spawn timers and do the final pre-release touches like stress-testing). And this lower-end estimate probably isn't the correct one, even if I had calculated the time those issues take to fix accurately. For example, while I cannot be 100% sure, I have a good reason to believe they'll do vanilla questing to an extent and depending on what extent that actually will be (making uncompletable quests completable or fixing RP events to the point where an observant player won't notice anything wrong without research), this probably is work for a few weeks, perhaps as much as three months. No, it's half a year at minimum. Estimates accounting for vanilla questing content or watching videos for 10k hours trying to definitely figure out if durability worked the same in TBC as it does in retail don't change the estimate that includes the things that "almost certainly" will make it into release (of course, it's technically possible for them to start working 14 hours a day or write "server released" news post right now, but I wouldn't call that realistic).

Go ahead and check out "Ammo for Rumbleshot" RP-event, Eldoran chain-polymoprhing Aurosalia in Silvermoon City or other such details in those areas. They are polished.

As for the rest of the content, if you actually followed IRC, the devs asked some guy to 100% vanilla zones with GM account. I don't know what they'll do with his reports for certain (or if they'll do anything at all before release), but if they were only interested in TBC-relevant quests only (like Onyxia prequest rewarding Mark of Tyranny, the pre-raid BiS trinket for feral bears), I think they would have said so rather than making the poor guy run (or teleport) around Barrens for no good reason.

I don't think its a similar situation though. Molten (or Warmane) in general has a pretty specific type of population and generally for example good, big guilds avoid it. I don't think ToD's going to be a massive thing either, but I think it'll attract some hardcore players and people interested on script quality. Pretty sure there's going to be people from Dalaran for example because lets face it, they've been looking for a proper progressive server for a long time but a lot of them are anti-Molten.

I think it's quite probable that alone is 1k peak population worth of players, enough to make it sustainable in terms of economy, BGs and such like.

He's quite correct though. Take Malygos 10 for example: retail HP 7 million, Lordaeron HP over 14 million. That's not triple, but that's still a lot. Especially the first weeks, many bosses were just about undoable in the gear available then (when Anub was normal hitting for 30 k on tanks, etc.)

Well to be honest the encounters are actually scripted fairly well now, though there were some problems the first weeks (and some still remain.) Surprisingly well actually, considering its Molten. However, they did lie about them being ready at release, a lot of stuff was fixed on the last minute or after. Which leaves me worried about Ulduar, which I don't think they've even began scripting yet.
So, its not as horrible a server as I would've expected, but I'm still going to roll on ToD personally because I know stuff works there where as I can't be sure about Lord. Plus the queues are making playing pretty difficult as you have to log 2 hours just to raid.

1k peak pop is perfectly adequate to ensure the availability of important items in AH. The length of queues is as much related to role/faction distribution as it is to population once you're at a point where there always are people queuing.

It would be a different thing in vanilla and to an extent TBC, but this is WotLK we're talking about and you don't actually go anywhere after finishing your quests.

if your AH has 500 people supplying, there would on average be only 50 people per profession supplying the AH.

I was talking about the thread. VG left it to die several times and sometimes only bumping when it reached page 10.
The thread was depressing these last weeks without AA autism, no conversation going on, no flaming, no shitposting, only one animu avatar fag bumping with VG wwu.
