Reminder Kazu rabu hot-doggu, and his proudo japanesu haht beats with intense fury. He once got so mad it broke his own ribs.
Most autistic characters (in no particular order)
>ALL genome soldiers
>The entire Dead Cell Unit
kazu rabu many hot doggus in his japanesu mouth desu
We're told that John is "The Man Who Sold the World"
But how exactly does he sell the world? He leaves behind MSF and Miller but that isn't really 'The World'.
I like to think he savors the fuck out of food. Especially given he grew up rather poor like a lot of people in Japan at the time.
But who knows, with all that sit down time as the XO on a few missing limbs and a taste/skill for making food, I could see him getting greedy fast.
He's probably awful to deal with in the mess hall.
rate 2016 /mgg/ in terms of memes
i give it a 7-8, i'm seeing a bunch of potential big memes out there, but it's still to early to decide. overall it's pretty good and i can't wait for more once kojima's game is announced.
He'd cripple-CQC a pudding out of an african child's hands without question.
Imagine ocelot taking the last taco, and everyone laughs about it but soon move on with their lunchbreak, except kaz, who is genuinely REALLY upset and pouty, because he'd been thinking about them all morning. He just loves his food, he can't help it.
In MSF, he would savor Paz's homecooking and wolf down rations just to get them out of the way. The blinding buttmad he has during his time at DD has led to him just wolfing it all down with his one hand and fork. It's an anger management issue, mostly
Venom walks into the Mess Hall for a nice steak and some steamed carrots and sits down with his crew. Kaz is greedily jamming it into his face, but pauses briefly to give Venom a smile. Ocelot daintily holds his knife and fork and watches Kaz with a look of faint disgust. Code Talker is parked next to Ocelot, with a bib and a small serving. Gray Chameleon is feeding him small bites and wiping the corners of his mouth with a napkin. He doesn't like being waited on, but Kaz insisted on it. He only gets to feed himself finger foods, like hamburgers.
For the duration of his stay, Eli has a kiddie table set up nearby. After the first couple days they made sure he only got finger foods so they'd never have to give him any silverware.
At what point can I customize mother base? I'm still at mission 30, haven't played in months.
Also how often does your base get invaded? I just started FOB and at level 22, I'm at work and left my PS4 on, kinda wished I knew earlier that you can leave it off for online.
This makes me realize just how shitty the girls become after mgs3. Even the girls like Meryl and Naomi who were already on passed games were butchered when they appeared in mgs4. :(
>Do you think he yells at blonde haired Brits that he sees on the street?
Holy shit! HE'S the guy who's always telling us to open our windows, shout "LIQUUUUUIIID!" and post results!
Imagine one of those things but with Ocelot.
Imagine one of those things but with Huey.
Imagine one of those things but with Zero.
Imagine one of those things but with you, the player.
what do you think they're talking about, /mgg/?
>Venom forces an awkward, lopsided grin
>Quiet politely smiles back
>Venom opens his mouth to try and say something
>Groans and gurgles for a bit trying to muster up a real word
>Settles for just spitting "Quiet!"
>Venom considers this second base
>Stares at something really far away for a few minutes before standing back up
>Haven't played MGSV in 2 months.
>Occasionally think about it.
>The only thing I can say I genuinely miss is my helicopter music playing as a I get picked up or dropped off.
It was supposed to change everything guys.
Who else likes to equip Venom -You are my big boss anon- Snake with low tech gear?
I unlocked pretty much everything there is to unlock yet I find myself using the most down to earth weapons and the simplest of scopes and gadgets.
Not to say I don't like having fun with the more wacky gear but it just feels more rewarding and fun to complete missions with the basic stuff.
For my rifle I just use the 1 star version with the wooden stock and the 4x scope because it looks and feels so classic.
I just dislike modern and more plastic looking weaponry. I did the same in MGS4.
Must be my autism but someone might relay I guess.
I did the same for a long time, only carried the slightly upgraded starting rifle, tranq gun, and some c4, and wore the basic camo clothes.
Now I have a carry custom rifle, tranq gun, tranq sniper, and some camo, but I also have the maxed out stun arm when I need Thor's help.
>Custom wooden stock tranq rifle with the 4x scope
>Custom 'Mini-AK' with suppressor and smallest stock (Wish you could set primary to none)
>Regular bionic arm
That's about it.
I sometimes use a stun shotty but I like to pop fuckers in their femur with my ak and fulton them out as they are bleeding on the floor if shit goes south.
I also really like the rocket arm but I can't deal with the fact the controls for it are inverted.
Reminds me of the time Kojima retweeted that BBOcelHira image with Ocelot and Kaz making out kissing Big Boss' cheeks. Funny how people still try to deny some of these ships as canon.
It's canon. There's evidence in game as well as the creator openly admitting it. I was just using the fact that the creator often times retweets Bosselot fanart as evidence that the relationship is clearly there. No need to be so butthurt.
Anon's correct. It's non canon. Just a Russian taunt.
>My headcanon is clearly canon
Anon please... There's a hefty brotherly relationship going on between Kaz, BB and Ocelot but you're seeing things that aren't there.
Also point me to where Kojima said Ocelot and BB are lovers.
Kaz asking out Big Boss to the beach before the date mission was super gay alone, but I still wonder about the mission's canon credibility. I mean, it is in the game, but still
The fact that Kojima even green-lit and probably was the creator of the idea scares me enough
People will try to claim the date with Kaz mission when the only thing that supports that would be that it's a side mission. Which is funny because all those Zadornov missions were side missions to and those are considered canon. As far as i'm concerned, it's canon, but I can see why others wouldn't consider it as such.
>There's a hefty brotherly relationship going on between Kaz, BB and Ocelot
this has got to be the most hilarious thing I have ever read on these boards. Mind if I screencaping this?
>The fact that Kojima even green-lit and probably was the creator of the idea scares me enough
The thing is that japs think that "gay behaviour = funny".
The date with Kaz is meant to be joke, but you know, autistic people can't see it.
>Zadornov missions were side missions to and those are considered canon
Never really thought of it like that before.
I will say the tone of the Paz mission is a lot different than the Kaz one. Seeing as how Kaz asks you on a date while for Paz, Kaz asks you to spend time with her.
Not to mention anything you do, Kaz seems to love. The Paz one was so easy to fail cause she hates everything you do at first.
Fucking Kojima, the absolute madman
I like to think that all those characters get a major power trip from being called 'Boss'.
But it's just plain developer laziness.
Dont know what made me want to do this,
but I just drew motherbase in mspaint with my laptop mouse pad
Yeah, for FOBs I prefer the structure we got since the 4 platform thing is cool, but since MB can't be infiltrated, I'd have preferred the old layout where all the platforms are close together. Guess it was last gen limits though.
yeah, i was going to mess around with these little blocks of platforms ive made and see what they look like in the msf style of where to put platforms
here you go
What the fuck are they doing to the FOBs?!
>no more reflex
>soldiers traveling in herds
>troll mines everywhere
>night vision goggles
>shorter infiltration time
>stealth suit has no camo
>stealth suit has no effect on fob soldiers with night vision goggles
>majority of active players have 4 fobs with maxed out stats, so retaliating against them is suicide
>nukes draw players like flies to shit instead of acting as an actual deterrent
It's gotten so stupid, that I'm thinking of dropping the game.
That's just the Japanese bitching about how the U.S. nuked them millions of years ago.
It's not like the Japanese were saints during World War 2.
The Fukushima Accident is epic poetry; Japan nukes themselves and sends their nuclear fallout to America.
who wants to play "everyone's motherbase will be unique"
This was my emblem.
Do it. The first screen will be some easy FOB's and there's a free insurance for 2-3 day(I think) to get you started
Here's my FOB stories of the day:
>infiltrate base with s rank guards
>sneak to 2nd-last deck
>a fucking group of soldiers are huddled together blocking the way
>a security drone is hovering next to me
>screen lights up with warning senses
>try to turn around and sneak away
>the herd speed walks my way
>try to go nuclear
>get shot from all directions
>die after taking 1 shot
>infiltrate base with s++ rank guards
>walk up stairs
>hit a custom mine
>have to kill a couple of soldiers who got alerted on the 4th-last deck
>sneak to 3rd-last deck
>see a herd of soldiers blocking my way
>kill all of them
>my suppressor is almost gone
>reach last deck
>kill all soldiers except for one
>destroy power grid
>last soldier says he's on it
>3 minutes left
>about to do the final kill
>see all the soldiers from the 2nd-last deck rushing to investigate
>rush to the doorway
I honestly want to say that I'm exaggerating on this, but this is how my last couple of infiltrations went. The herding thing is new to me. Not sure if it's because I'm attacking players with 4 FOBs or if Konami changed something again.
Post the cutest picture of Mantis you've got saved on your computer right now.
You should really listen to the song. "The Man Who Sold the World" isn't about a man who literally sold the world off, it's about a man who used another persona and "sold the world" that lie.
eating candy is pretty cute
I can hear the footsteps of the moderators running down the hall now.
>I skeptical that as soon as I try it i'll be raided 24/7.
only if you turned on the security challenge setting on your fob. otherwise, your fob gets blockaded after every attack, and 2 players can attack you per day
I don't know, but everyone has been having trouble with guards that sometimes go invisible and teleport on fobs since the last patch. It especially happens when you trigger a soft alert and everyone from the next platform tries to cram in and the game can't handle them.
its just a bug
i dont think there are very many places that outlaw common insects
>defenders will fuck you upside down
So don't damage anything and they won't be alerted that you're there and come to defend.
>there's no more reflex mode
You shouldn't fucking need it retard.
>don't even bother trying sneaking, always go nuclear
>im shit at infiltrating and need reflex mode
Is this a joke post? The defender won't even know you're there if you sneak properly, and if you sneak properly you don't fucking need reflex mode.
You complain about defenders yet you still "go nuclear" which is exactly what brings defenders.
There's no need to give them advice. The mode controls the same way everything else in the game does, so provide they've actually been fucking playing it, they should do fine.
The mode will also pair new players up with bases at their level first, so they can be eased in.
Wrong. Players get paired up with other players based on their PF ranks. Non-skilled players can build their FOBs and not infiltrate anyone. By the time they do decide to infiltrate, they'll get spanked. Troll harder faggot.
You misunderstood the point. People who set their security to non lethal are retarded. I don't think any good defender would seriously do that and the other guy is actually projecting his retarded thoughts on to the thread.
Keep ignoring all my points and shitposting you pathetic scum. Everything I said about the mode is right, you simply refuse to play it properly and then complain when it's too hard.
He does have beautiful eyes doesn't he, anon?
Here's your post: >>128095978
>The defender won't even know you're there if you sneak properly
Wow, gee thanks anon! I would have never of thought of that! Such skill. Such wow.
Nigga, you basically came out and said "I'm a baddy!" the moment you mentioned reflex mode.
Using the doge meme just further invalidates everything you say.
Retarded commentary, naive commentary, but commentary.
Deterrence worked. MAD is why we're in one of the most peaceful eras of human history. Without nukes, NATO and the Soviets would have duked it out 2-3 times already.
>told you how to improve
You did no such thing. All you said was 'lrn2sneek', but did not go into how one learns to sneak (best loadouts, how to practice, which surfaces have gaps that give AI a line of sight, etc.).
And even if you gave advice that was worth the pixels it was printed in, you'd still need to back your claims up with some proof that you have actually applied those techniques successfully.
More like switch to non lethal and I put your whole base to sleep before I steal all your resources. Then, you arrive to defend and lose because you have no guards to back you up.
>couldn't refute my latest post so he went back to the last one
I told you that if the defender is giving you issues stop alerting them. That's advice, if you legitimately want me to tell you the "best loadouts" and which "surfaces have gaps" you can fuck right off.
Wanna know how to not alert the defender? Don't kill/fulton anyone or destroy any security devices. I could go into specifcs on step by step how to do that, except
A. I don't feel like typing all that out
B. It's not something you can't figure out on your own
C. You're a very difficult person to want to do that for.
>You're a very difficult person to want to do that for
You don't actually want to help anyone, ever, as you explained in points A and B. But for the record? I'm not the guy who asked for/needed help.
>"You don't actually want to help anyone, ever, as you explained in points A and B."
>I don't feel like it means I never will feel like it
>I don't want to help someone do something incredibly easy to work out on their own means I will never want to help anyone with anything else
>"But for the record? I'm not the guy who asked for/needed help."
I don't care.
>incredibly easy to work out
>but not so easy that I could explain it
>certainly not as easy as lying about having already explained it
>I don't care
Of course you care. You were wrong. It feels bad to be wrong. That's why you lie about being good at a game on the internet.
how would you feel living in a motherbase like this
It's easy to work out, that doesn't mean it doesn't take time to work it out, thus time to explain. And time I don't feel like wasting doing so.
>Of course you care. You were wrong.
Thanks for the diagnosis doc.
>It feels bad to be wrong.
I'll bet it does, but you'll recover.
>That's why you lie about being good at a game on the internet.
>Be mercenary, working for a legendary PF
>Trip and fall on top of my silenced rifle
>Accidentally fire a shot because accidents never come alone
>It hits another soldiers helmet, luckily he survives
>Ashamed to admit what you did you yell out: "ALERT! I THINK I SAW SOMEONE OVER THERE!!"
Mods don't just magically find rule breaking posts. There's less than 200 mods on 4chan and thousands of threads containing hundreds of posts at any one time. Also, they aren't exactly getting paid.
They wont start removingNSFW until a voice actor or someone from kojipro enters the thread.
anon has all the best ideas
This is the only Mother Base layout I need.
Why is the inclusion of a "kill house"
in PW so awesome?
Are there any worthwhile mods that might refresh the experience again?
Graphically, gameplay or otherwise.
I've googled and found some but idk if any of them are worth the hassle.
>incredibly easy to work out
>but not so easy that I could explain it
not even him, but holy fuck this is stupid.
In order to not alert the defender, DON'T ALERT THE DEFENDER.
Sneak like you are snek because that is the fucking game. Reflex mode is not a skill you should fall back on, it's a safety net for when you fuck up. The idea is to infiltrate, steal resources, and leave without being seen. If you need to practice (you do), try going through some areas of the regular game without tranquilizing or killing the guards. Don't take them out stealthily, just sneak past them on the way in and the way out.
>post a video then
I'm on a ps3 with only HDMI output, a vidcap would cost me $350, so fuck you.
And honestly I don't really do this anyway. I used to like doing it on MGS2, making 20 minute speed runs through the tanker without being seen by anyone, no shots fired outside of boss battles. It takes a lot of practice with the game set to "game over if spotted".
But I digress..we're talking about MGSV here. Start trying to get those bonuses you get on missions for "perfect stealth" and not triggering reflex mode. Slow the fuck down, look at where the guards are. Stay in a hiding place and plan your path before moving forward. When you think you see an opening where you could move forward, continue to sit still and imagine your character moving to the next hiding place while watching to see if any other guards move into a position where they would see you. If the window stays open long enough, then take it the next time the guards repeat that part of their patrol, not just as soon as you think you have an opening.
Being patient and moving slowly isn't much fun, I know, but it is possible.
we were always aware.
we just didnt care because it was so damn comfy
We're definitely getting more patches. There'll probably be one per month for the next few months and then it'll slow down.
I really hope they're making DLC for the game too though.
Is there a mod that lets you disable the FOBs without having to lock your game with a firewall yet? I would really like to be able to just play this game offline, but if I start it again from scratch I'll keep my FOB rank and I'll just get invaded over and over while I'm trying to enjoy single player
Well that mod has an option that lets you always start the game offline.
There's no real way to "take back resources from being stored online", but either putting it behind a firewall or using the offline mod is as close as it'll get.
>try to play Twin Snakes
>can't even get past the first two soldiers you encounter in the game without getting my shit kicked in
Am I really that much of a casual after playing the ezfest bore that is MGS5?
>"Motherbase is dead"
please can this meme end
what are you on about?
it seems alive for most of us
Still playing as Venom, the sequel's plot will be the plot Kojima had ready for the chapters he couldn't make of MGSV.
Eventually you get to build Outer Heaven, so all the development shit is back so it still has microtransactions.
MGO4 will be free to play.
>''Guys, i've played the first 2 hours of MGSV at E3 and I can confirm without a doubt that Venom is Big Boss.''
What did he mean by this?
At this point I wouldn't even mind. I'd love to see MG on the fox engine.
At least they won't be able to fuck up the story.
Oh who am I kidding.
Also, someone made a supercut of all Quiet's lines.
Enjoy, you filthy animals.
>he unironically asked Stefanie tips to deal with Quiet's loss
TPP is the plot twist of MGS2 and the motherbase building of PW mixed together. I can't belief they did the latter, right down to making it an oil rig base again. I mean fucking come on. It's not even mentioned in the later games.
It was suppose to be Outer Heaven, not Mother Base 2. We were supposed to see how BB met and influence the characters that held him in such high regard in the later games. It was supposed to show how he reconciled with the Patriots and rejoined Foxhound, train Snake, and ultimately show how he came to the point were the world actually did all want his Outer Heaven destroyed (unlike the completely false claim that anyone wanted him dead in TPP).
the phantom pain
even if kojima was still at konami, it should stop now
a ww2 the boss game is literally the only option right now and probably is too risky without a snake protagonist
To the fact that it is a sequel to the last game, and that you generally expect sequels to continue the story, not start something entirely different.
Worst thing is, it is so entirely different because the few ties with the story that was expect have been cut, whether it's the continuation of Liquid's storyline, or some monologues of Venom to BB.
People are mad that the story we got wasn't the one they expected, but what makes them truly mad is that the one we got instead didn't even deliver any point nor reached any sort of acceptable conclusion.
The trailers were they literally call it "the missing link that completes the series" and talk about how men become demons. MGSV's side story completed nothing. Not even it's own narrative is completed.
I want to chubpost sometimes, but I have neither the creativity nor the sauciness to make it work.
I enjoy reading it, though
Spit it out.
>T-shirts with emblems
Can't wait to mow down butterflyfags.
>the plot twist of MGS2
You mean the plot twist of Metal Gear Ac!d. The fact that you weren't playing as Snake was extremely obvious about ten seconds into the briefing for the Big Shell scenario, and Raiden never thought he was Solid Snake, he's just been programmed to fight like Snake. Snake in Ac!d is exactly what Venom is: a random soldier who's been programmed to think he actually is Snake.
I'm so glad I kept nagging about that decoy picture now.
Also, it looks like drawfag is actually drawfagette.
How did BB rejoin the American military while Venom was advertising his presence as BB to attract volunteers for DD? How was Outer Heaven formed in the middle of South Africa? Did they just let it happen? How did Solid (I.Q. of 180) not notice that the BB he was fighting in Outer Heaven suddenly had a horn and metal arm?
>nothing you don't know
How did shutting off Naomi's nanomachines cause her to *instantly* die of cancer?
What happened to JFK, the AI that was calling Raiden as "the colonel" after Emma's worm borked GW?
What about that whole Rat Pt 01 = PatR10t thing that indicated MGS4 was scripted by someone in power?
>How did shutting off Naomi's nanomachines cause her to *instantly* die of cancer?
The nanomachines were the only barrier to the cancer cells.
>What happened to JFK, the AI that was calling Raiden as "the colonel" after Emma's worm borked GW?
Something happened to him last Thursday when he was driving home.
>What about that whole Rat Pt 01 = PatR10t thing that indicated MGS4 was scripted by someone in power?
The AIs were still functionning up to that point. No need to look elsewhere.
Sure is easy getting free shit from banned cheaters.
Nobody in the west knew that big boss was the leader of diamond dogs / outer heaven.
That's why people are surprised to find out at the end of metal gear 1.
Only the soldiers working with them knew, the only possible leak being huey emmerich which nobody would believe.
The porpouse of Venom Snake was to act as a decoy for skullface while big boss went back to the states and assumed control of foxhound, while building up zanzibar land behind the scenes. After a while VS started to attract too much attention with his operations in south africa, the US ordered foxhound (which is an army unit) to put a stop to it and big boss sent solid snake thinking he would fail, all while giving VS details on the operation (hence the Intruder N313 tape he gets at the end of mgsv), but solid snake outsmarts everyone and fucks shit up. Big Boss then goes underground and retreats to Zanzibar Land.
It really isn't that hard to figure out. Even in mgsv people talk about big boss as a rumor, in the west they had no way to know and if they did it wouldn't be treated as a surprise at the end of mg1.
>The nanomachines were the only barrier to the cancer cells.
That's not how cancer works. Cancer causes uncontrolled cell growth that causes organ failure. If the nanomachines have been keeping the cancer from growing, then all turning them off would do is allow them to grow again. The tumors would still have to grow to a problematic size from there, and that takes a lot of time. You don't instantly die of cancer, it takes months of suffering.
>last Thursday while he was driving home
That was GW. JFK's first line is "Raiden...We're still here." It's not mentioned in the game dialogue, but if you get The Document Of Metal Gear Solid 2 and read through the script, the "colonel" saying all that shit about a consciousness forming layer by layer in the crucible of the white house, questioning Raiden's ability to decide what is/isn't true, etc, etc is JFK. Another AI calling from another already-in-service Arsenal Gear.
The four AI that Ocelot attacks in MGS4 are AL (Abraham Lincoln), TJ (Thomas Jefferson), TR (Teddy Roosevelt), and JD (John Doe) via the reconstructed GW (George Washington).
JFK is still out there.
Not to mention the possibilities of AJ, RR, HT, FDR, GB-1, GB-2, MF, and so on.
JFK has been retconned as JD after kojima's liberal friends told him that referencing jfk in any negative way was a big no-no.
In mgs3 the boss even calls jfk a coward, in mgs4 they quote him in a positive light
Jfk is the most popular US president. He got a US flag on the moon and resolved the cold war peacefully. What's not to love? The Boss was definitely PMSing hard if she called JFK a coward, although I really don't remember that.
Is our drawfag really an SJW feminazi who's trying to suck us into her $50 per month Patreon scam? I liked it better when the cunt stayed anonymous. There's no respecting an attention-whore.
She never drew my Chico raping Paz request.
After mgs3 they started to listen too much to western fans.
They even hired a western assistant producer for mgs4 (ryan payton or whatever his name was). People bitched about not being able to get enemy weapons so mgs4 had 70+, people bitched about stuff not being explained so they explained everything, people bitched about raiden being gay so they made him a super awesome and brooding cyborg ninja, etc. etc.
And people still bitched about old snake when it was pretty much the only original thought put in into mgs4 that didn't come from a gamefags poll.
With PW they tried to win back the japanese audience by making it a portable game that had similar gameplay features as monster hunter, but mgsv was a western game through and through basically. It doesen't even have any of the quirky japanese shit from the previous games
>stealing from cheaters
May as well cheat yourself, faggot.
Big Boss has a giant mercenary base.
He gets involved in world affairs, which would piss off literally everyone.
He's frenemies with Major Zero.
Major Zero knows Big Boss has a nuke.
Just imagine Big Boss being Osama Bin Laden, and Major Zero being George Bush Jr.
Okay, I'm about 95% sure now, since it is actually historically factual as well.
'The exiles had some air support, but US President John F Kennedy was determined to keep the US involvement a secret and as the initiative turned against the invading force, he backed away from providing further critically needed air cover.'
Yeah I bet he complains about that.
Do you think he rewards himself per done task?
Scattered food on his desk, crumbles on his shirt, muttering "one more dossier".
>royally fucks up bay of pigs by refusing air support out right
>negotiates with Castro to release with baby food and medical supplies over 20 months
>later enacts operation mongoose which straight up is supposed to destabilize Cuban's economy and Government
We have done worse stuff though for instance; Panama.
>lets go build a goddam canal between two land locked continents
>locals are being bitchs about it
>CIA funded revolutionaries take over the country
>installed new Government that is hand fed by the USA
>Panama canal is installed shortly after
And we keep freeing El Chapo.
It was actually retconned in that she was on a space mission at the time and that was covered up by saying that she was at the bay of pigs, but she was still pissed off about it because she felt bad about the soldiers there
Kaz would have a snack drawer. It'd be full of cheap, filling junk that he'd graze on through the day, but he'd keep the REAL goods in his coat pockets. All the kids know about it and they follow him around motherbase hoping for a handout, but Kaz, does, not, share.
>Thanks for taking me out today anon, I love the flowers!
>Do you want to go back home and
play some Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain?
How the fuck do I get past UAVs and Cameras, you destroy one and everyone fucking loses it.
Why is this like this?
I have done the Event FOB twice and it is fucked.
Integer bug. Sorts itself out after a little while. Just wait it out.
The staff you captured during the FOB will be lost, however.
Got the same issue a couple of times.
There's no quick fix or workaround that I'm aware of.
the menus are shit
Yooooooo what the fuck, I literally just started playing FOBs today and I fucking suck.
My loadout throughout the game was as follows:
Primary: level 1 svg-60 with a different barrel that allows higher range, level 2 silencer when it got unlocked
Secondary: level 1 tranq pistol with extended mag and level 2 silencer
Including fulton, my total loadout cost 1160 to deploy.
Did Big Boss really have all that crazy AR stuff like the detection rosary thing around him during Peace Walker?
iDroid doesn't seem like it was a thing until just before Ground Zeroes, so Miller freaking out over the Walkman is weird if they had AR even before establishing Mother Base.
>all got was the most autistic snake of all time
I don't think he was intended to be cool. Cool would take him down MGS4 Raiden's path, or gave him enough lines to not make it feel strange(money not being a problem, considering the cut lines).
Considering how his eyes keep looking into all directions in the ACC, I'd wager Snake is
still in a dream
I'm really REALLY tempted to buy The Phamtom Pain
Is it worth it? I keep hearing good shit about it
SIG SG 552 Commando
Yay or nay?
So what's the plan here? Get a couple of entirely subjective opinions without telling us what you are looking or what your idea of the game might be?
occasionally i run GZ mode
>wu silent pistol grade 5, no customizations
>am mrs w/ flashlight attachment only
>nvg, magazine and grenade
>pw sneaking suit, gold arm for aesthetic
>if i'm really feeling classic, also add bandanna and c. box
The plot is hammy schlock like all the other MGS games.
The gameplay is fun and has lots of little details to explore, but you have to actively mix up your loadout or else it becomes repetitive.
>the rest of us are just here to suffer.
all in the hope for a better tomorrow
What do you want to talk about then?
Like, who is your favourite buddy, gameplay wise?
Personally, I'm rather torn.
I like DDog for the stun, but his tracking makes the map useless unless you actually re-scout yourself.
Quiet makes you careless, as she can always save you. and basically do everything on her own.
DWalker is very useful for scouting and being a car, but rather useless as an actual combat buddy, unless you're fighting tanks.
DHorse is just a car, what else can I say. The most basic and pure gameplay experience, but ends up as just half of what DWalker does.
He's a super soldier, sure, but that doesn't mean he should jump up all the way to Spider Man territory.
Snake should be better than a baseline human, but only like peak human, not someone who seems like he should be recruited to the X-men.
So, what FOB event would you like a see next ?
I'm still waiting for a very difficult one with drones and gun cameras.
Actually, If you put a prisoner or someone on his back and then go off a bit and whistle, he'll come with the Prisoner still on his back. (D-Horse that is)
As far as I know anyway, I haven't tested it in long distances during missions or anything.
DWalker is good, but I feel like he's kind of wasted potential, especially considering how fun the shooting mechanics of the game are. I think more fortified areas to infiltrate either sneeky beeky like or loud and proud could have been a nice treat for him.
I just found out the little thing that makes him act on his own accord but am a little apprehensive about using it since I don't wanna go full demon.
I'd rather embrace Twin Snakes' lack of rationale and palpable wackiness than a game that was supposed to bridge the most controversial gap in the franchise, but couldn't deliver on its promises, let alone expectations.
You feel it too, don't you?
Are they right?
Actually "cool" is the exact word Kojima used to explain why he cut 90% of Snake's dialogue. He saw Mad Max: Fury Road and decided he wanted Snake to be cool like Max. The VA's thought Kojima was kidding at first but he insisted that doing this would make Snake cooler.
That's just a meme picture.
If you want proof against it, he explicitly said they went for Kiefer/notHayter because they needed someone to facial capture and convey emotion better, shortening lines.
Meanwhile, the end product is a confused old man, which we jokingly take for autism, except in the essential setpieces.
D-Dog, every time.
I took Quiet out for a couple of side ops once. I was surprised that she actually didn't save me from the "high level" soldier I was supposed to extract but she also capped a couple of guys before I could scan them. I could get her a tranq rifle, I suppose, but I think D-Dog marking all the enemies for me is more useful. I took D-Walker out twice. The first time was because the Skull unit you have to fight to save Code Talker when the chopper gets shot down pissed me off. That gatling gun got me a surprisingly easy S rank so I decided to try it on the Back Up, Back Down mission but it was too slow for mu usual route which I normally bring a jeep to this mission for. I may redo that, I probably didn't have D-Walker in "run" mode or something. I of course used D-Horse until I unlocked D-Dog, and while there's no reason to dislike him he doesn't really add anything to the game aside from Tactical Pooping Action to make enemies lose traction in. I like horses irl, but I also like dogs and D-Dog will pounce on a guy, slit his throat, and do a backflip off of him and that's BOSS AS FUCK.
That's two totally different issues.
The Mad Max thing was after all the dialogue was recorded, way after they'd gone to Kiefer, and had nothing to do with Kiefer/Hayter because Kojima also did this with the japanese VA for Big Boss whom they did not change.
Is it wrong that I felt this scene was stronger than anything in V? It even had a stupid scene coming right after but it didn't change my opinion on it
The problem with the intercept head is that DWalker is still too squishy to be a full on turret, so you need to maneuver him in a way that you sneak around with him, and at that point you might as well cap them yourself. You can also only use one head, so no scouting.
The Fulton Gun has huge trolling potential, especially for vehicles.
DWalker is the fastest vehicle in the game, too.
My only gripe with DDog really is that his pseudo marks remove the circles on the map, which makes it awkward to get a rough image of the enemy distribution. DWalker's Scout head is surprisingly effective for that, but then it loses the ability to shoot on it's own and that makes him just a car, really.
In terms of MGS gameplay, it's a pretty big stand-out. Not "stand above", mind you, but it's unique in the franchise for free-roam at least. It has succeeded in doing what no other game has done in several years: get me to sit still and play the same game every day for a month. It's also made me realize that I like the stories of MGS because they happen in the midst of really good gameplay, not the other way around. I've been able to immerse myself so much in the minutia of side-ops and free-roam headhunting that the story seems to be very far in the background. It reminded me that its there by way of an infection that made me unable to deploy mercs or fire people (but Miller can still dismiss staff, WTF?) but once that was over with all sense of urgency faded away again and I'm just fucking around in south africa, not even playing as Snake at all.
And while the "extract the ostensibly skilled soldier" and "prisoner extraction" missions are somewhat repetitive, to get the number of hours I've wasted on 5 in MGS2 would have taken over a hundred replays of the same long mission.
