>What is BDO?
Black Desert Online is an MMO by Pearl Abyss currently in development on an English language port for western audiences, with additional changes. It is a sandbox MMORPG that features action-oriented combat, open world PVP territory control, trading, player housing, and more.
>What is the difference between the KR/JP builds and the NA/EU builds?
The NA/EU builds are using a new, Buy-to-Play model.
The KR/JP builds of the game are free to play.
The NA/EU builds also do not have the blader/plum/kunoichi/ninja classes.
>What are the details of the NA/EU buy-to-play model?
You pay upfront, 30 dollars (minimum) and there is no subscription fee. There will be a cash shop, which allows you to buy cosmetics, pets, and vouchers for things like skill resets. You also get access to the next (and possibly final) beta test (CBT2) by pre-purchasing.

idk what it was but that last patch screwed me over good...
I wasn't able to play for 2 days straight because the launcher kept downloading 2gb worth of files over and over again, always ending on errors.
Kept telling me to check the files, always encountering different corrupt files on each run, sometimes the same files multiple times.
I finally got into the game again just now but fucking hell why is updating always such a bitch... Is it just me or does anybody else have the same issue on KR?
Think it might be just you, patching since I got everything installed for the first time has been pretty smooth for me. Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with it.
Fishing.. what a rush of adrenaline this mini-game provides.
Some weird shit happened and one of my screenshots came out like this. Kinda neat.
>Kill two Wolves
>Find orange item "Black Stone (Weapon)"
>Apparently worth 300,000 silver
What exactly is this used for? I know the game will tell me later on but please spoonfeed
wtf? what do you mean no point? it's an mmo that requires money for servers amongst other things what did you think your measly $30 is going to be enough for this game to keep going?
if this game was P2P I could understand that there'd be no point to a cash shop, but F2P/B2P they need money to keep them afloat to producing more content and keeping servers up.
>tfw you defeated same face
maybe by the time the game comes out in NA i'll be able to craft a human being
I really don't see the problem with the nose but the eyes are AYYYYY as fuck
Trolling aside, good attempt at trying to be unique, but you sorta failed
Anyone have a beta invite they can pass off?
Guys please halp, my horse just disappeared from existence.
I've last seen it when we did the cyclop guild quest, it must've died but I can't recover it at the stable NPC, no I can't even see it anymore.
What's wrong? I mean it was a shit horse, but still I miss my Arthur ;_;
They haven't confirmed or denied whether we're getting them or not, I'd assume just at a later date considering it'd be pretty dumb to hold out on content because 'oh they look asian'.
In other news, Valencia is a very nice city.
You only level strength from being over your carry limit while you've got trade goods on your back. Normal inventory items don't give you any strength xp.
Is this game any different from Tera, B&S, or Vindictus? Or is it just the same thing with better graphics? Trying to decide if I should buy it or not.
I'll just ask this again, how do I get this(pic) costume in bdo RU? As far as I know in some regions you can get this tamer costume in the mileage store but not in Russia.
the game as a whole is unique, combat feels a lot like vindictus
just try to get a CBT 2 key or buy one for cheap off some site to see how the game is first before you blindly put money down for a preorder
Holy fucking shit. The official black desert forum is fucking cancer. I get mildly agitated from time to time reading some article about jewery and niggetry on /pol/, but it pales in comparison to how furious I get reading all those retarded threads about pvp and pk on their forum. I swear, all these carebears are normie redditors, women and SJW's. They use the same exact tactics, language and tricks as leftists. Different topic, same retarded arguments. "Waah waah, grieving is mean and unfair", "muh hurt feelings", "muh equality".
How do we prevent this scum from ruining the NA/EU BDO? It's not enough that DAUM already dumbed down and casualized the game, the carebears want to change it even further, making what was once intended to be open world pvp focused game into another soulless, themepark piece of shit that will die in a year, when all these carebears will latch onto to the next hot themepark garbage.
how much for hand holding?
you're a little pricey for me desu senpai
It is indeed too late, they've been at it since the creation of the forum, back then they based their arguments on video's and content from other regions such as KR. Daum EU/NA has already fell and catered to that community.
so what's this thing for? is it useless now that that dice game is over?
Hi defense force.
It just rings of a money grab because "west". Whether the financial situation for the studio producing it is different here or not. It might not be fair but it is very off putting on a knee jerk level.
Wonder how much money they miss out on from people skipping it rather than at least trialing the thing with a f2p model.
>defense force for a fucking business model
oh lord stop being a hot topic emo cunt with your stupid bullshit of crying and calling anybody with an opposing opinion "defense force".
>Wonder how much money they miss out on from people skipping it rather than at least trialing the thing with a f2p model.
oh nvm you're just a poorfag looking for handouts.
Not the one you replied to but if you truly believe it's a business model and not the jewish kind of money grab that's been exhibited in the west for years in mmo's without shame, then you're literally a literal retard.

>not playing on KR
enjoy your no content version of the game
>playing with retards from /vg/ instead of pro starcraft koreans
>koreans are monolingual retards like us americans
>koreans want to associate with disgusting americans in a game where they shouldn't even be allowed in
>got this sexy mofo from breeding
>still just a t5 horse
breeding is way fucking worse than I imagined it to be...
just buy a qt 2 person horse
>implying anyone except erping faggots would buy this shit game
nice meme senpai

Leveling Guide 1-60
that should help with whatever you were trying to do in more ways than one
are we ever gonna get this game for south america? or is there gonna be a way to bypass the zone restriction ?
Thinking about giving this a shot on the Korean server to see if I'll be interested in the NA version once it releases, just have a few questions:
Which class gets da bes looking armor? I have a boner for Dragoon-style armor aesthetics, or cool Wizard gear.
As someone who usually play the dick-ass Thief/Assassin/Rogue/Stealth class in MMOs, which class would interest me the most? I'm tempted by Wizard just to try something a little different than my norm but I also want to be very viable in PvP.
You'd probably enjoy ninja/kunoichi and blader/plum I'd imagine, otherwise wizard is a pretty solid choice.
All the classes have pretty average to good looking armours, just depends on your personal preference really.
>found out kunoichi/ninja classes won't be in NA/EU on release
>don't feel compelled to play anymore
I guess I could play the other classes... I guess...
Not a whole lot to talk about with barely any news flowing about NA/EU.
One of the nice houses in Valencia city will be more than enough then, I'll never make big korean dollar.
Does leveling the city nodes increase the speeds of workers in the same city for example? Or is it strictly 'you get better drops'?
That's what I imagined it would be, moreso for helping your fishing drops in the city etc rather than actively making better quality goods or furniture worth more interior points.
Roughly how much stronger are the black spirit illusion versions of monsters?
>how do they work
guilds bid on them for ownership
bids start at 400m
>what do they do
don't know most of it
some sort of natural resource pumping
u da wurst
>Another monster has appeared to help the stronger monster.
Do I need a VPN to play the Japanese version from Australia? I only ask cause I didn't need a VPN to play the Japanese version of Phantasy Star Online 2.
If so, what do you guys recommend using? What's the cheapest / best free choice?
It was the same for me, that patcher is a nightmare. Good luck.
Some of the Warrior's greatswords are pretty large, probably not quite Guts' sword large though.
just remember to engage in pvp with anyone and make their game experience as unenjoyable as possible for the first month of the games release to weed out the pussies
You don't know the half of it, in-game is even worse. I joined the reddit guild when this general first popped up and the JP servers opened up. This was hands down the most authoritarian structure of a guild I have ever dealt with across any game.
Any PvP, I mean any, warranted a kick from the guild, as it "tarnished their reputation, took away for the efforts of others in the guild and best of all, brought down the atmosphere", nearly verbatim.
There are people who play this game who don't even want PvP in the game at all. Guild wars would result in guild messages coming out to stay in town, some of the most cowardly and anti-fun shit I've ever put up with. These are the people speaking out about how they want NA to shape up to be and it's a fucking shame, because these people couldn't even handle a conflict in conversation, let alone in game.
Pretty sure it's a bug that got introduced with the new patch, can globally see warnings from the three wave boss scrolls for some reason.
It's beyond irritating sometimes, I hope it's fixed soon.
I'm there again now so I'll take a few more.
It's easily the nicest town in Mediah, that's for sure.
Green rod sells for roughly 9k, it's no where near as worth it as the green axe is price wise.
The triple float rod seems to sell like lightning but the mats for the Mediah/Calph/etc rods are a bit easier to come by yes.
I had planned to get a nice view of Tarif from the waterfall nearby but all this fog got in the way.
But then it cleared up for the sunrise.
Afraid not, I'm yet to find a tool workshop that I can get to level 4, since that's where I assume you craft them.
Ranger awakening weapon with a bit of a tamer preview at the end.
L-Look everyone it's news.
You've got me there, the knives are quite tame compared to the other awakenings so far. At least the tamer's quarterstaff looks like it'd be interesting.
You know what will happen to you?
This is what will happen to you.
Is it hard to move in that dress or do you always leave yourself so exposed, wizbaby?
The Wizards Guild.
You will regret crossing the Wizards Guild.
>Absolutely NO Paladins allowed
I'm keeping an eye on you, wizard.
Anyone here still play the KR version? I was thinking about starting it back up again but thought i'd might need a little motivation.
