My first character had Idiot Savant and I don't mind the noise. The problem was I was save scumming every quest for massive exp so I could max out my SPECIAL before putting in any perks. It was fun and it wasn't too difficult (even on Survival) but the save scumming got tedious and made me dislike doing quests. That's why I wanted to skip that process and just max out my SPECIAL at level 1 so I can make whatever build I want.

The problem is I found Idiot Savant almost never procced with 10 intelligence which is why I'm wondering if it would be a waste to take if I'm not going to save scum.

what have i become

I beat F4 for the first time two days ago and goddamn the Minutemen ending is really, really bad. I messed up the Brotherhood of Steel questline so I had no other choice, and basically it was terrible. There was no drama at all, the quest design was lousy, and it was totally anticlimactic. The Minutemen have no motivation for taking out the Institute- for the whole game up until that point they were only concerned about raiders. Preston Garvey and the others sounded completely fucking bored with the whole thing.

I loaded up an earlier save, fixed the BoS end quest, and beat the game again just now and their ending makes so much more sense. There was actually some drama/conflict involved and I had to make difficult moral decisions. Their ending was pretty satisfying and they gave me a bunch of end game goodies, I don't think I got anything from the Minutemen.
