What do, lads? Playing Princely States turned Indian Empire. Just finished uniting all of the former Raj, and now at a crossroads. Socialism has failed basically everywhere and the International is no longer much of a contender anywhere on the planet. The Entente also appear to be largely toothless with an America ruled by McArthur still isolationist.

What should I do now? The only two real powers in the world are the German bloc and the Japanese bloc, who own most of Asia. The problem is, they aren't fighting each other and are a world away from one another. Where can I find some fun left in this game?

I really hate CK2, not for what it is but for what it is not, or rather what it could've been.

When I start it up, I expect a cool medieval game that combines grand strategy with dynasty management. What I get is a steaming pile of fucking nothing.

Seriously, in most of my games fucking nothing happens. The Holy Roman Empire takes Flanders, and then France and the HRE sit there doing fucking nothing. Is this worth it? I've had 3 nation wide rebellions already and all of them were back when I was behind 4.5 militancy. However, the pop promotion cap to slavery nations is fucking me up a lot, the region in pic related has loads of accepted pops but only grew about 10% adm efficiency over the last 4 years encouraging bureaucrats, and it was quite hard to get intellectuals in the only 2 regions I have 100% adm efficiency in - around 12 years to grow them from 1.2% and 2.1% to 2.6% for both of them. Plus, the other option barely grants me 300 RPs.

You could try the grinder tactic. Research up dig-in bonus techs, split your stacks, dig them in on mountains and jungles with war god generals and the AI will usually attack them. Collapse in some reinforcements if the battle goes shit and maybe even encircle with single regiments if you can manage. You can even let them sit on your jungles for a while eating 10% attrition.

Once you have cleared the initial wave of their colonial garrison(if they even have any) the AI will be so tardy with ferrying troops over they should be free warscore and you will always have local superiority in units.

Just dont get scared and try to fight them right away when they invade with a gorillion units at start and occupy half your country, you have to stalinmode it, and come back. Maybe you can even get some free reforms off militancy.

I accept that. That does not make him German however. The Frankish rulers were the first to establish what would become France. They conquered what would become medieval France, established Paris as their capital and kept it there for centuries until Charlemagne moved it to Aix-la-Chapelle after having conquered the Saxons (so it would be more central in his empire), used Latin in their administration and over time assimilated with the Gallo-Roman population. Explain how this makes them German.
