If you're not shit, you can easily kill a Pyro unless he's really fucking good or already close to you.
A single, random puff of fire can melt your knife and effectively keep you of the game for longer than a respawn timer. If this happens while you're trying to get a pick, you and potentially your team is fucked.

But then you have to run to an ammo box with only a single weapon to defend yourself and then go all the way back. Depending on the map, it's still longer than respawning may be.
Not to mention refilling the meter still doesn't give you your picks back.

Other than stock, definitely Big Earner. The speed boost is a huge game changer, allowing you to get stupid backstabs by running around enemies that can't keep up with you, run away or get to places you couldn't reach otherwise (like the medium healthpack below the point at Nucleus)
Other than that, YER is fun on pubs and Kunai can be good if you're playing with shitters.
