To me from images iv seen on google it looks slightly like its trying to be rune factory but maybe ill give it a try, i even gave lost valley a try and i wasted money.

Just recently started playing Story of Seasons, and powered through to winter in about a week. I opened my farm and got a full 3 people on my farm for once, and after waiting only 15 minutes no less.

It was fun to see that many people running around, but I can't help but feel ripped off when I give out 5 star sweet potato(cousin gifted me those), soybean, and flax seeds and get 5 fodder, 2 iron, and a butterfly in return. I guess I'll have to assume that they were all in spring of their first year or something.

Also, I find it kind of weird that the game doesn't censor certain uh... things that happen on winter 1st during multiplayer. I mean, the grave is right there. It wouldn't take much for a new player to put two and two together.

Should I sell my cowardly and level-headed animals? I got three chickens of which two are active and the third is cowardly and the active ones have six hearts whereas the cowardly has only two even though I bought all three at the same time

The one I'd want is quantity+1, since it's the only one that matters when you have an animal at 10 hearts.
Chance of HQ byproduct is also useless since safari makes chance 100%.

The "Best" personalities listed under the spreadsheet is actually a chance of byproduct's Star Rating being higher than normal, which is useless when animals reach max hearts.

So for something like chickens, you'd want cowardly.

Raising their heart levels is such a hassle, but I guess it's fine since I already have active chickens to quickly raise the egg quality. So, should I then get rid of my level-headed cows since they are slow to level, though they are already safari level cows? The fucking cow that Eda gave me is two and a half hearts when in comparison the cow that I bought a month later is currently a 9-heart safari cow. Short answer is sorta but not really. You only really interact with the maids the whole game and almost no one else. You never go into town outside skits/events/battle.


Longish answer is that since you only have free movement in the inn, the only npcs you'll ever interact with freely is the maids and your two human friends if they're around that chapter.

There's also heart events which you have to pick one maid and basically have a small skit and battle with which unlocks a skill and reflects only a tiny bit on the ending events. Just note you can't go back on the choice which may leave you confused if you mix and match it. For example say you missed Gabbie 2nd event and pick Gabbie's 3rd event, they'll assume you knew what happened in Gabbie's 2nd one and you'll never get her 2nd skill.

Game isn't interesting enough to justify 5-7 playthroughs to unlock everyone's skills or see everyone's final events so pick 2, or preferably one maid you like and stick with it.

If it isn't Lottie/Charlotte then be sure to refuse her once early on or you might mistakenly get locked onto her.

I don't think it's possible to see your playtime save specific playtime, but you can see how much time you've played RF4 from the 3DS settings, so you can vaguely tell how much time you've played that save by dividing that time by your save files.

Concerns about her career getting in the way of her taking care of kids are valid, I'd say, but overall, I think Iris' motherly instincts would kick in, and she'd put aside the pen to care for her offspring. She's made several comments to me about how she likes to mentor the other young women in town, so she certainly has motherly streak. She's a good deal more calm/mature than some of the other available grills, which is good when dealing with children.

The only girl in town I can see being a horrible mother is Elise, pic related.

Lillie's got some experience from raising her younger sister with her dad, even if she can be a bit of a ditz. Angela is very responsible. Licorice, other than her career potentially distracting her similarly to Iris, would be fine. Agate's very sweet and nurturing to animals, so of course she'd make a fantastic mother.

You raised some good points, but I would like to disagree on some.

She might have the best work-life balance than most people. She mostly works from home, with the occasional out-of-town commute (meeting with the editor), so she doesn't waste much time traveling. Also, it's not like she's the only one handling family stuff. You're working from home too you know (with your workplace being your farm, and your home is the farm).

Also take note that she had to take care of Mistel while juggling with responsibilities from her work, so at least she has a firm grasp of taking care of family. Do note that because of this, she hasn't had much luck in romantic encounters, with only one confirmed by Iris herself (and a fish autist to boot). Her being guarded towards your advances only confirms this insecurity.

She is quite knowledgeable and crafty, confirmed by her dialogue and the sunday program on Oak Tree Channel, so at least she can distinguish between fantasy and reality. She strikes me more as a realistic romantic than anything else.

I had most of the ingredients and could sell it for 4k over the shipping rate. Before that was Cabbage Cakes that had nearly 50% profit over shipping rate but I was only getting 1-2 leeks per plant and I had to buy flour for them every few days.
Hot Juice is nice but is limited by how many Purple Leaves you can harvest from the Forest each day.
Prelude to Love turns the humblest profit (2-3k) but the ingredients are plants that you can harvest over and over.

So in order to savescum I just have two people in my party, sleep, and close the game if neither decides to leave in the morning?

If it helps, Seedling is easy mode and Original is normal mode. There is no hard mode in SoS.

the only real noticeable change at the start is stamina. And even then on late game hard mode, you regain half a heart every 5 seconds so you never faint. Seedling doubles the store's stock so you can stock in fertilizers easier and finish the country requirements faster. I've played original mode and I think I managed to unlock all countries only after marrying Elise (~ 4 years). I imagine it'd take like 2 and a half to finish on seedling.
But I get where the others are coming from about experiencing the game that was meant to be. Maybe the name seedling puts off people?

Pottery gives good money. If you can manage to get a pottery shed early, hoard those soils and make the Big Jadeite Pot, then cups, plates, bowls, or pots from what's left. They give a consistent profit for every pottery sold.
