She attacked Hawke.
Mobile hotspots are fucking pathetic....
>tfw no real internet until 26.
male equivalent of the duck face, or peace sign
>How miserable have you been without it?
Not very because I was too busy but it will come soon... At least I have risen 1, risen 2, tomb raider, geralt and cry of fear (/dag/ said it's spooky or something) to keep me busy... maybe even DA lmao
This game is hilarious
I know, I occasionally check 4chins with my phone and disconnect right away because I'm already past my limit. Feels better when it's just 500 posts about Solas I missed. The spirit of the warrior will always be with you... bye....
Oh right I also downloaded JE for free, one more game on my list.
He's the best companion in this game desu, they borrowed a lot from him for Oghren and later Bull
>Multiple mages with an Encore staff in the party can apply multiple buffs, one per staff user.
I know what I'm going to do in the next playthrough.
We'll probably hear something like "oh yeah we're totally working on it!" from Weekes this year, but not much beyond that. Anon's right about 2017.
Would you, /da/bwg/ females?
I should really get starting to play PoE. I really want to make an offensive pike character, but should I go for offensive fighter, paladin or just plate wearing rogue?
Fucking Anders, the dead ones can't masturbate.
I have trouble getting Jade Empire to run without graphical glitches under Windows 10. Weirdly, KOTOR 1 and 2, which are older, run fine. It's just JE that fucks up. It's like my framerate drops to 5 FPS or something.
>weeks with no mention of corey and archie

desu senpai at least change your posting style......
About to start a Mass Effect 2 play through. Pretty excited, been years since I've played.
I hope the magic is still there
next game's protagonist should be based off this guy
Jessica is fucking Alive and Well ®
Wandering the rift.
Probably a bit of both. Miranda. Last time it was Tali. Just finished a bottle of Brandy with Doc! Good times.
the magic is still there
It's the best of the three imo. Best characters hands down. Just take your time and enjoy the ride.
Looking forward to playing more tomorrw.
ikr, Liara is obviously the superior shy waifu
>introduce a bunch of new characters in ME2
>the whole game is about us getting to know them and gaining their loyalty and trust
>none of them are available as a companion in ME3
>4 is going to have all of those things, and be perfect and not let any of us down
DAI was the best DA game becaue
>8 romances (!!)
>my own castle
>HUGE beautiful maps
>lots of side content to get immersed in
>good villain, I felt threatened by him
>long and chilling main quest
In comparison DAO was pretty shit because mute protag, shitty companions, terrible graphics, terrible animations, shitty "le chosen one must destroy the big ancient evil", turd colored filter, crap combat etc.
if DA4 is going to be like DAI I will be really happy :3
>DAO was pretty shit because mute protag
You must not be from around here.
>"le chosen one must destroy the big ancient evil"
Yes, I'm so glad this was not the case in DA:I.
forgot to add, DAI also had better fast-paced combat. all the flashy effects reminded me of diablo 3
>Yes, I'm so glad this was not the case in DA:I.
well I can see why you would think so, but DAI had more going on. the Solas twist was really unexpected and cast the game in a completely different light. you also weren't a "chosen one" in DAI, it literally turns out that wasn't the case, you simply happened to be in the right place at the right time.
Corypheus > archdemon
Solas > Loghain
these are facts. I think BioWare also knows this, at least I hope they do. I don't want them to go back to the boring generic style of DAO.
I think I've been tricked by Sagacious Zu's cool design, he's the Carth clone in this game, not Sky
I don't know anything about Jade Empire, but something is wrong with that man's face.
>you simply happened to be in the right place at the right time
I would say that this was also the case in DA:O. Nobody is "chosen", as far as fates are concerned. Warden just got shanghaied into a hero role.
>I would say that this was also the case in DA:O. Nobody is "chosen", as far as fates are concerned. Warden just got shanghaied into a hero role.
but you are specifically chosen by Duncan and then only you survive the joining because of reasons, Alistair immediately gives all power to you, and only you have the power to recruit massive armies and only you can kill the archdemon.
in comparison, the inquisitor gets pulled into the role, but most everything happens around him and to him, not because of him. you get to kill Cory but the actual threat and antagonist slips through your fingers, just the way it happened with Hawke.
The concentrated Carth essence was so strong in KOTOR it had to diluted in later games: you have Sky for the obligatory moralfag male with a dead relative romance, and this guy for complaining about everything you do and whining about his past every time the plot advances
Look what got cracked early :3
I haven't played past the CC because I want to finish Jade Empire first, but it seems to be the same thing only in 60fps and with updated grafics
Playing Jade Empire for the first time, any advice?
It's fucked, they were not even rivals in my DA:O playthrough. Morrigan did not agree with Lel's religious bs but that does not make them arch enemies that won't even acknowledge one another. They have like 1 line of dialogue together and that only if you drink from the well yourself.
> Wears the smug shit eating smile regardless
Some things just can't be helped.
You can translate codexes from Mythals temple and ask It for translations. I hate how you can drink it as an elf mage but apparently Morrigan is a special snowflake who can hear the voices for some supermage reason.
It's really useful when you just aren't an elf though
Also its for pride and trust really. I don't think Bioware has the guts to make you binded to Morrigan for DA4 or the inquisitor to be binded. It would ruin everything if Morrigan started calling the shots. She's just a poster girl
Why are the DAI romances so shit? Some perhaps have a couple of nice moments, but all in all they were bland as hell.
Also, who cast Josie and Bull's voice actors? I skipped most of their convos because of how terribly grating their voices were.
Well, I thought he was fine as Vega, it's just that he was horribly miscast as Bull.
I suppose. They need some new blood, instead of recycling the same few actors over and over again.
True enough. Even DA2 seemed to have more passion in it, which is sad considering DAI's scope and dev cycle. I'd rather they went down with dignity, instead of getting milked to death by EA, but I suppose that's not an option.
>They need some new blood
The problem is just when they hire someone because they dressed up as a character from their game and know a developer instead of hiring someone with proper skill.
Does anyone know why Jade Empire keeps acting like it's stuck at 5 FPS when launched under Windows 10? Alternatively, I would also be interested in knowing where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours.
Range really is just as important as being able to act purely by voice and while a distinct voice can surely help, it isn't really all that helpful when everyone will just think "oh yeah, this is X from that other thing" and lose all sense of immersion instantly.
Steve Blum and Nolan North both have extreme range but everyone just hires them to do one voice because those voices are well-known from successful projects and as a result, many people will start thinking that they only know how to do one voice despite the fact that they can do a lot of them.
Now, being able to do a lot of distinct voices is the motherlode of voice acting.
Oh definitely. I love Steve Blum and I wish he wasn't typecast so often. Does Alix Wilton have much of a range anyway though? I've only ever heard her making her Traynor voice, even in her pre-Traynor smaller roles. I don't have a problem with most of the VAs, even the ones they keep reusing and typecasting, but certain ones just stand out in a negative way.
I didn't know that she voiced Cauthrien or Mhairi before I looked on IMDb just now but that might be because it's been quite some time since I last played Origins and never really paid attention to how similar the voice was.
Jo Wyatt has a very distinct voice and lisp but until DA2 and
Witcher 3, she didn't really have any large roles so her voice never stood out much more than just sounding like her voice but once you've heard the voice for many hours and have a real name on it, hearing it again all kinds of places makes it stand out.
> Is Solas evil
*if you're a solaswive or an elf in general odds are you'll probably be able to stop him peacefully in any future game that's made
> Is Flemeth dead
> Are gods real
Elf ones are but the god title is mostly just for show, they're just generally really powerful
> Is there another DA game planned?
Never ever :^)
> Why was the last boss so bad
Go play Trespasser if you want to know more about Solas/Elven Gods/What your companions are doing 2 years from the endgame
Eh, considering how sappy Trespasser was, I really wouldn't be surprised if you could stop Solas peacefully in a future game.
I can't imagine Bioware would want to deal with all the girls on tumblr whining that they couldn't live happily ever after with their dog boyfriend.
To all my PC /dag/-/bwg/ friends... play Dragon's Dogma.
Calm yourself, sis. This is just a PSA. Buy it or pirate it: I don't care. Just play it.
This is the same kind of idiotic argument Mac & Casey pulled to explain away 3 flavors of death in the ending to ME3.
There's nothing inherently superior about a miserable ending.
Thats assuming already that Solas is even going to matter in future games. Considering all the influence and the decisions you had in DAI I am pretty sure we are going somewhere far far away of Ferelden and Orlais.
Bioware wont be fucked to include different states for wardens, inquisition, etc.
I dont think its going to be tevinter desu, probably Antiva.. or whats that other kingdom? Anderesen?
Anyway, Solas will probably not matter besides a short guest appearance.
Here's a new topic to keep the thread going for a little while.
She gets cool robo blade legs while poor Jensen is stuck with clunky robot feet. Clunky robot feet that cause him to die if he jump more than five feet without purchasing an upgrade...
>NOT LIKING JOSIE 'S VOICE
LOL JUST FUCK ING DIE
I know it's DA and everything, but... sentient bows? That seems like a bit of a
Why the ever-loving FUCK does activating a torch/lockeddoor/bashable wall as the wrong class cause your companion to say "Want me to try?" instead of just having them do it.
Swapping to them, walking up to it, and activating it feels awkward and pointless.
Especially when it's torches, which are fucking everywhere in some places. It's too much of a pain in the ass to swap constantly.
Who does good DPS then?
I have Varrik using dual daggers right now (because I found some good ones) but I am hoping to find a bow so I can use Sera instead since Varrik keeps getting killed by melee aoe from large enemies.
Rogues. But as broken as shit like long range shot is, you will need the class specialization for it to become really broken.
Just go to Val Royaux and buy a Tier 2 weapon schematic if you need an early good bow.
Because your companions are scared shitless of you and won't do anything unless you command them?
Pretty sure rogues in DAO would automatically go for locks that you can't open, too. It's odd.
Dual dagger Tempests are literally game-breaking, but you'll have to babysit Sera if your Inquisitor isn't a rogue.
You do realize this is a thread about Dragon Age, right? It's just as fucking casual as CoD is.
Having to swap to them adds nothing to the game whatsoever. It is just tedius and pointless.
If the mechanic someone made the game deeper or more interesting, or even if it were somehow fun, then I wouldn't mind.
But it just makes something that could be a button press and makes it into a character swap, movement, a button press, and then another character swap for NO reason.
Oh so I guess I need to do main story stuff.
I'll make Sera into a dagger user because it's sort of a win/win: She does good DPS and I get to watch her annoying ass die over and over.
>Entire pack of enemies wailing on you
>Guard isn't even going down
Does the Sword/Board class get some sort of passive that generates Guard? Even with blocking or taunting I seem to always be capped.
Meanwhile my melee DPS sits in melee aoe range and dies to enemies I have Taunted.
I assume your the same guy as >>128154051
The answer to everything is specializations and time.
Also, you get proportionally more powerful than enemies as time goes on thanks to skills and equipment. Sword/Board becomes unkillable to the point where you can solo the entire game if you spec into champion.
I'm playing the game for the first time, and I just sided with the mages and saw the Alexis confrontation.
I am pretty disappointed that your men kill all the guards.
Was looking forward to saying "FUCK YOU, CRAZY MAN" and fighting off his entire royal guard with my rag tag group of annoying assholes.
>Pretty sure rogues in DAO would automatically go for locks that you can't open, too. It's odd.
Nah, I remember trying to open something and have Zev or Lel chime in LET ME DO IT. Then I'd switch to them and they couldn't open it either
I actually also remember Leliane opening shit for me when she could. However, I also remember her not even trying to open locks and saying "hey let me try" if her skill level was too low to actially open it.
> there's been a lack of anything related to it after starting it
I've only done Cassandra and Josephine's romances, but from what I understand that problem pervades every non-Cullen romance in DA:I.
It's no surprise that people do weird stuff with lasers.
Does your foot curve like this?
>play for the first time in a year
>try deflecting wraith projectiles, fail
>hmm, my timing must be off
>try over and over again on routine, almost dying
>go to skill tree
>deflecting is no longer there for spirit blade
It's not the best skill or anything, but I felt like a badass deflecting shit with the blade. I don't even want to play that class anymore.
Are you saying that as a normal person who disliked her writing or whatever, or as someone who thinks that Solas is the best thing about Dragon Age? I need to know so that I can respond appropriately
I don't want to talk about it we have more important things to do I also want you to know that I don't trust you because of my boss switching sides yeah all right sorry for not going five minutes without telling you that I don't trust you it's just that after my boss decided to bomb everything I can't trust anyone any more.
What do you know about feet anyway look you haven't been through all I have so I don't expect you to understand but you could at least try being a bit more tolerant of others even if you aren't trustworthy to a paranoid guy like me you know what I don't want to talk about it so don't bring it up or try to jerk it out of me even though I will spill the beans if you ask me thrice in a row but don't do that because I don't want to talk about it.
She dedicated her life to getting swole after her husbando got bioware'd...
>girl named Talia with a headscarf and heavily ornamented clothes who speaks in a heavy southeast-Asian accent
>girl named Tallis with a hoodie and ornamented clothes who speaks in a heavy camel accent
Good or bad insane? I only downloaded for the concept art
/dag/-/bwg/ wishes it wasn't ded
Apparently he was assassinated by slutshamers.
Holy shit how can anyone be so fucking self-absorbed that they turn everything into part of their "war" and all about themselves? Seriously, Bowie was a cool guy and all about just being yourself. His legacy isn't about being "progressive" or any other SJW shit but rather about just doing whatever the fuck you want. All of his personas have been just that. He never let anyone get in the way of just doing whatever the hell he wanted to do and that is his legacy and it isn't honoured by demonizing people that disagree with you and using him in a disgusting attempt to make yourself seem right but rather by just letting other people be, allowing them to think what they want and go your own way just doing and thinking what you want without needing to attack others to make yourself seem superior since then your "superiority" is nothing more than a veil to hide your doubt in yourself.
The way Jen talks about him makes me doubt she even heard about Bowie before he died. I mean nobody sane thinks about video gaymes or Brianna Wu when they think about David Bowie
Dunno man, the story is a bit childish and predictable, but the character designs were pretty on point
If you thought that DAI was good, chances are you'd come here to complain about Origins not having voice acting and being boring or something so you shouldn't bother with playing them
I don't care about the voice acting really, and since I never played Origins I can't say if it is boring or not.
I'm not here to complain, I'm just asking a question because I want to understand
DAO is literally better than DAI in every single way. Play it.
I wouldn't say that DAI is shit, but
>big hueg areas that barely have anything to them
>pretty much no interesting sidequests
>voice acting is all over the fucking place, especially for the Inquisitor
>combat is just barely serviceable, made worse by the ability /spell restrictions
>the game was literally supposed to be an mmo at first
It's mediocre at best.
How would you make DA:I good? I would
>include day/night cycles for Hinterlands, Emprise du Lion and Western Approach and cut out the other areas
>bring back the cinematic camera
>cut out Skyhold, make you stay in Haven but add upgrades
>include at least two additional areas to Val Royeux
>only give two voices for the inquisitor but hire someone competent to voice them
>keep Origins style combat
>cut out Cullen, Josephine, Cole, Varric and Iron Bull and give their roles to other companions to make them less pointless
>add some actual ambient tracks
Oh I don't know... maybe I played other games and I'm an open-minded person who can see the flaws in something he likes ?
Yeah, the game feels pretty empty after a while and most of the sidequests are boring. I didn't now that it was supposed to be an mmo, this explains a lot.
I got used to the combat system but it was really annoying at the beginning. I guess it was better in the previous games
I can agree with most of that
I don't get the Josephine hate. Granted I don't like her romance as much as Cassandra, but she's not terrible by any means. Of course except the no sex pandering to asexuals part. Her romance also should have ended with marriage if you rolled a male Trevelyan.
Hinterlands were a mistake. Using Haven's surroundings as a "tutorial" area would've been smarter.
Honestly, I feel like the VO director fucked up, not the Inquisitor's voice actors. A lot of characters sound off for some reason.
Josephine and Cole did nothing wrong.
Josephine was the last character they wrote and her role was originally given to Vivienne, as it is now neither character has enough presence to be interesting, hell you wouldn't even make Vivienne the divine unless you're one of those super mage-invested players. Cole is just a joke character who's not funny
>letting Vivi officially handle any part of the Inquisition
Lets not start talking crazy now.
Didn't know about Vivi's original role though. Interesting how she became completely optional.
She's mostly disliked here because an agender lesbian tumblrina used to waifufag her while unironically complaining about bioware letting a straight white man to write Sera and other supper interesting sjw issues. Personally, I was disappointed with her romance because it was a bit lame compared to Liara's (same writer)
>Dynamic weather system and seasons
>Aim for a more authentic depiction of the pseudo medieval setting
>Replace the writers with educated intellectuals
>Replace Rhodes with a classically trained painter
>Replace the minigame where you wait for timers to count down with an actual strategic part to the game
>Either commit fully to tactical party based gameplay or third person action
>Make a faction system that's flexible and have an impact
It's easier if you just start over from scratch.
> Dynamic weather system and seasons
If they made it a genuinely open world, this would be a good thing. Otherwise it is pointless.
> Replace the minigame where you wait for timers to count down with an actual strategic part to the game
I agree, the timers are dumb and I always cheesed them with the system clock.
> Either commit fully to tactical party based gameplay or third person action
> Make a faction system that's flexible and have an impact
What would be the factions?
Vivienne was originally a white gal who was the "social butterfly" of the party. You also would have had Leliana as a companion, so you'd get to know all the divines on the same terms. They ended up bringing Cullen and Varric back for fans and introducing another waifu in the end, which is why Cass feels like the best and most developed divine imo even if they kicked her out of war room meetings after you get to Skyhold
>What would be the factions?
Depends on how different the game would be I suppose, they might be very granular if there would be more political intrigue or very broad and general if not. The imperial court, the chantry, the elven gypsies, the Tevinter niggas...
Allowing the player to play as a slut with cowtits would fix everything.
Shame about Vivi, hope they'll reuse her original concept in DA4.
And I assume Sera ended up replacing Lel as a companion. That's probably the least of the game's problems.
>And I assume Sera ended up replacing Lel as a companion.
It was Varric actually
It'd be nice if you could use your position as the herald to stop people from being degenerate. Like what if the inquisition could add faggots to the list of heretics that they oppose, just how rad would that be? You could just make an official announcement that Andraste told you in a vision that sodomy was bad.
>"It's never really gone." The nobleman smiled. "Kirkwall. It finds its way into your soul, and once it gets there, you carry it always."
>Do you ally with the evil straight white men or do you ally with the rest?
>If you ally with therest the qunari rapists become the white straight human's fault
>Therest allows horse marriage
>If you ally with the whyte mails you get an XP and loot penalty to balance out the privilege
Who's the Donald Trump of Thedas?
What did the pyramid mean by this?
>do the Hakkon DLC
>all these uniques
I never knew I wanted good weapons in this game.
>tfw afraid to go to bed because /bwg/ will fucking die then
I have work until 12am
I got you
I leave it to you then...
I would rather kill all of them, honestly.
So I thought the feastday gifts would give like a few approval and just be funny. They gave 50 approval and now all my companions love me...
I switched Zevran in for her because I knew shed object.
>Fugitive's Mantle was a mage robe in DA2
>Malcolm wore it while posing as a merc
>in DAI, it's a templar armor only available to rogues
That's actually a p interesting touch. Deepest lore and all.
