im getting tempted to play agrarian skies
please talk me out of this and force me to make my own pack
dont forget to call me a faggot
Most are. That's why you hide all the infrastructure and make everything look pretty.
Are there any good basic servers with server economy, you know dig 10,000 dirt trade for diamond, dig 10,000 dirt with fancy diamond shovel?
I used to play on minecraft-seeds.net server and it was a great, semi-quiet underbuilt server. Can't see it anymore an I'm not sure if banned or it's gone. I haven't played for years.
I'm looking for somewhere to play vanilla with my younger brother who is just getting into MC on PC and I want to have a decent experience (e.g. being able to buy armor instead of mining everything) part of it is easing him into survival so most servers where you get REKT as soon as you step out of the protected area aren't going to work.
>this menu requires you to middle click
>not listed at all in the controls
How the fuck was anyone suppose to know that?
>see people talking about a mod that lets you scan stuff in inventories (as well as yourself) last thread
>that's a lot handier than spilling my inventories on the ground one item at a time
>first thing I scan is myself
when I first played this game it was early 2011 or something, hiding out in the engineering computer labs with my best friend between midnight and 4AM when no one was around
back then I played on hardcore, the game had a way of making me piss myself because of the haunting music and shitty lightning
like hours of digging a dark hole, surrounded by moans and chirps of hidden things, when suddenly you tumble and fall into a black pit, to be eaten alive by something unholy.
Now when I play this game it's too easy to prevent all that with torches and beds and nonsense, the artstyle's boring
how can I make this game spooky again guys
Update on the Namkobian front: City is almost repaired now with only the docks remaining to be rebuilt; once those are complete, the rest of the fleet can be imported over and then it's off to sailing distant waters in order to see this ChromatiCraft ruckus is all about!
>4 Multi-Chromic repeaters linked and surrounding the casting complex.
Well now I don't have to worry about where my long chain of repeaters go.
>looking for a good seed in RTG
>first one is this
Also this research is still holding me back, what do I need to find for it?
oh wow, I was looking for something simple, not eight billion spells and quests and horseshit, jesus
just decent resources and some atmospheric changes
thanks for your time though
I've abandoned my project to make an adventure modpack based around exploration of an abandoned starship and forgotten worlds (and platforming)
So, if anyone want, i'll dump some screenshots of this ded project.
this place was loosely inspired by
Actually nevermind, I found it in the middle of the day, it was a random hole in the plains that looked wierd.
Now I finally unlocked this thing.
But in order to actually make it, I'm gonna need access to ALL 16 lumens.
never, Sadly. I've made a design document about gameplay and world building, but most of the mods I used are buggy shit that block me to work
This world give you jump boost and uses that speed boost blocks from erebus, and it's full platformer (it's actually playable)
once you go up there, you can unlock the wall section. It's a labyrinth.
I tried for a Witch hut theme, and it's square because the entire inside is a chunk.
Everything else just kind of seems out of place, and I'm actually considering making either a new world (Homebrew pack of my design) or moving everything to a void world. Lag is becoming an issue, and it's more or less because Minecraft is "Assigned" 4 gigs and is taking loosely 6-8.
So, I'm interested in Witchery but I'm playing a singleplayer world and I really only know the multiplayer shit messing with people via voodoo whatever. What is there to shoot for in single player, and how do I go about getting started?
At the moment, aesthetics. I had this plan for a grand smeltery, but when it occured to me that:
1) You get more per ore from an EnderIO Sag Mill loaded with Dark Steel balls
2) You can smelt 10 stacks of ore on a single bucket
3) Smelters are slow unless you have mass-production systems
Which is one of the reasons why I'm actually considering shucking it down into a Bedrockium Drum (which, suprisingly, that tank is only a fifth of said drum) and using it for more realistic purposes of Liquid XP. I still need to work on revamping and properly building my hyperspawner system; I used to use MFR Grinders, which were slow and produced essence as a byproduct, but I'm planning on using Diamond Spikes enchanted with Looting, Reaper, and XP Boost.
Apparently someone else in these threads said that Brews are a good thing to look into. Doing things that Vanilla/Botania potions can't do, like fertilizing an entire area of crops/grass to make absurd amounts of flowers and seeds. Might be worth looking into.
It might, but I know that Rowan and the witchery trees boost more than other trees. I don't think it's directly based on the amount of things, but rather the variety of things. I know the things you put on top of the altar boost once and you can't stack them (So no 6 dragon eggs on an altar for max power) but the stuff around...I'm not sure if it's Quantity or Diversity that counts.
So does anyone know if there's any machines between Enderio or IE or even engineers toolbox that i can charge a plasma shotgun from matter overdrive in? or am i stuck using those energy pack things from the mod it came from.
you can stick one into a shotgun
wireless chargers for maximum cool guy points
the witchery brews have a ton of utility
there's a brew for practically every purpose (furnace fueling brews, brews to fill water containers, brews to fell trees, brews to grow plants and harvest them at the same time, etc.)
Get yourself Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and ffmpeg (>>>/wsg/543914 I hope that works. Otherwise, just go to /wsg/ and check the sticky)
You might need some kind of video editing software, I'm sure you can acquire that somehow. Otherwise, WMM might work for the basics.
>1.8.8 + Forge, no mods
>place redstone lamp
>place line of redstone for a few blocks
>flick lever on and off
>delay until lamp activates
>delay until some pieces of redstone update
>fps drops while doing it
Why are we updating to this? I'm going back to 1.7.10.
>break node stabilizer because I thought it was useless on an energized node
>leave game and go to bed
>hear wet slapping
My whole floor is flooded with the purple bullshit.
>>because I thought it was useless on an energized node
>that's literally the entire point of the node stabilizer
It's fine, Mackenzie killed it.
I found diorite comfy enough for a underground desert cave look.
aaaand arrival deck starship, exterior.
I probably retarded but in TFC I cannot for the life of me understand how to shape a copper ingot into an axe head on the anvil. I've remelted this one ingot like 3 times trying to understand how it works and I cannot get it. Please help.
>using it for more realistic purposes of Liquid XP
If you have enderio, you have the exp obelisk, you'd be far better off just pumping liquid xp right into it instead of using a tank
If they haven't changed it, it should still work with a couple strikes will increase the work and some will decrease, you've got to figure out the correct combination of strikes to properly work the ingot. Too many and you ruin it, not enough and well you run out of time. Say you need to work it into a value of 5 but you can only add 4 or take away three. You would have to hit it to add 4, then hit it again to remove 3 then hit it to add 4 again for the sweatspot of 5, but say if you were to hit 6 it would break.
I made them, but a lot of glitches made me stop from finishing the adventure pack.
Here a detail of the guild, kind anon
>put fired clay axe head mold in the storage slot of my forge
>fire copper ingot until it melts
>vanishes into thin air instead of being put into the fired clay mold
for fugs sake
Hey guys, so I've got this modpack (It's the magitech serb pack and I added Millenaire) and I get this horrible freeze whenever I open any GUI (it freezes for about 10 seconds). What the fuck can I do to solve this issue? MultiMC also crashed on me while playing (happened twice) and I had minecraft crash once.
>find decent public server for the first time
>no one on it will team with me
>Looking at the bomb-ass builds and organic looking structures other people have managed to make
>Immediately look back to my haphazard, if slightly cozy, shitshow of a base.
Im never going to get good at this game, and yet I am somehow oddly content with that.
The Runic Dungeon I have entered still hasn't shown up. I'm not sure whats happening, but its dark. Very dark. I'm beginning to think coming here was a bad idea.
>Pam's Harvestcraft is being ported to 1.8 by someone who isn't Pam
>the guy is planning on rebalancing (buffing fruit trees and nerfing tofu are two big ones), reducing bloat and properly coding the mod (i.e. no more 700 individual ids taken up)
Too bad everything is ruined by the word "ported to 1.8".
Haven't played in fucking ages.
Gonna play with my
non gamer gf
Any current mod (preferably pack) that adds a decent amount of cool stuff for the non-gamer type?
Less combat shit, more building and farming and exploration/fun etc.
For example she's interested in the farming aspect quite a lot, keeping animals etc.
I was throwing eggs at her and we got a little baby chicken in our house, she wants to name it and keep it as a baby forever which I ended up doing with commands. But we'd rather all this crap be integrated into the game in as smooth a way as possible so she'll understand it all and it won't feel split from the main content.
Make your own:
BoP for dem woods
Growthcraft (dat alcohol)
Cooking for blockheads (allows you to keep track of pam's bloatcraft foods more easily)
Bibliocraft (decorations, chairs, etc.)
MrCrayFish Furniture Mod (As the name states. Some of the furniture does some interesting things)
Hunger Overhaul* (makes food actually mean something)
LittleMaidMob Mod (maids, mandatory. They're adorable)
*Warning, needs to be configged to hell for it to be tolerable. The mod author is a retard.
Underground Biomes Constructs (adds more stone types)
Realistic Terrain Gen* (use 0.4.0, changes up the terrain to look a bit nicer)
Minecraft Comes Alive (Villagers suck less, you can "marry" your GF or villagers ingame)
*See previous warning. Taigas a shit.
Why is a weeaboo faggot mod the best companion mod?
What is the best tech modpack?
>create your own, you lazy fag
There are literally a lot of mods, and 99% looks like absolute shit.
Or at least give me a list of the best tech mods and i'll try them.
But most factories *are* just squares and rectangles.
Have you tried intersecting a bunch of squares and rectangles instead?
The focuses don't work, and that's most of the mods. I keep it in because I am afraid something might break if I remove it, but also because it has some complex as fuck to make caps, but they give a 40% vis discount, and that's pretty baller
Wide open with high ceilings. Factory interiors are pretty boring too. Suspended lighting, catwalks, and maybe 2nd story "balconies" would be the only things of note.
Refineries, steel mills, and power plants are a bit more interesting because of all the outdoor construction. They are too big to be able to cram everything into a warehouse-style building.
You mean "3/4ths of the major multiplayer mods that existed at the time"
shit like EE and IC2 didn't intrinsically go well together, it's just what we had at the time.
So, i was looking for tech mods and i'm trying to do this modpack with only mods that interact with each other (no incompatible bullshit)
>Forestry (i fucking love this mod)
>obligatory Magic Bees
>lacks Extra Bees
Binnie's Mods 2.0-pre14
Gendustry 22.214.171.124 if you want that (should be fine with EnderIO power gen)
and I think Magic Bees only works with Forestry 3 anyway but if it updates its API you'll have to stay on your old version. Enjoy, bee-bro.
Binnie's and Magic Bees (I think?) aren't updated to Forestry 4's API. Binnie adds enough shit that I think it's worth staying behind; it's just a bit of a pain finding the right versions of the mods since no one fucking documents anything to that end.
Nah, the others' most recent versions will work fine with Forestry 4. I provided version numbers 'cause they were the last versions of each before they upgraded to the Forestry 4 API.
>Iguana's Tweaks makes repairing tools a lot more expensive
Yes, good. Now all that's left is:
>tool parts are more expensive from the get-go
>a more limited, non-upgradeable number of upgrade slots (maybe stick it at 3 or make it depend on the material used with rough accordance to vanilla tools' enchantability stats)
>maybe make a single tool material or maybe one-use modifier with a trait that gives one extra modifier, but for fuck's sake make it harder to obtain than paper and only one thing with the effect
>upgrades can only be stacked once (so no piling fifty stacks of redstone onto a tool to mine at the speed of light)
and Tinker's will finally be somewhat balanced. Jury's out on how to fix crossbows other than removing them outright, but this fixes all the basic tools and melee weapons, at least.
Maybe I'll make my own Tinker's Overhaul mod someday.
I just don't want TiCon to invalidate every other tool in your pack is all. I really do love the mod at its core, but making things more expensive would make it a little easier to employ some self-control and expand your horizons a little. Tinker's would still win in customizability, but maybe say you make yourself a Tinker's pickaxe for the easy Silk Touch or Fortune and then use an enchanted, modded sword to potentially outdamage one with a single layer of quartz.
Nowhere did I say I'd like this integrated into the core TiCon. Some people like OP tools, and it certainly was a lot of fun for me the first time I did it. But I'd like an addon mod to bring it back down to earth a bit in a way that IguanaTweaks can't really provide at this point in time.
Nothing's forcing you to use the other tools.
Remember that TCon doesn't get the Soul Stealer enchantment from Soul Shards or the enchantments from EnderIO and other mods.
>but making things more expensive would make it a little easier to employ some self-control and expand your horizons a little
Tons of Lapis for Fortune is balanced enough. Would have wanted Cleaver's natural beheading removed so that the obsidian+ender pearl upgrade can be used instead though.
>What are they good for?
Breeding new tree types, mostly. That is, if you don't have ExtraBees installed.
>I don't understand forestry's appeal.
Some people just like to play around with things like genetics.
>I just don't want TiCon to invalidate every other tool in your pack
the only way to prevent this is to just not have ticon in there. ticon is compatible with other stuff, but ultimately it's not meant to exist with other stuff that has tools/weapons simply because it's the all in one godtool mod. 's not even a question of balance, it's just plain better at everything than 99% of mods that add stuff due to how it works.
ChromatiCraft seems to be crashing more and more, especially when I'm trying to craft shit with lumens, my interest is starting to wane.
jesus christ anon, I know we've all got the lust inside of us but that's taking it to the next level
I literally did not know it was possible to have double of an aspect
What the fuck are these purple things, they dont go away on reload, nothing shows up with any health bars, I can't interact with them, what the fuck is going on?
Those look like the particles from thaumcraft's taint swarm. You had a leak in your lab earlier, right? Go downstairs, their hitbox is complete shit so they might be flying headfirst into the underside of your floor
ah, welcome to thaumcraft tainted swarms
don't let them near your base ever, when they die it's like a 50/50 chance they'll leave that mess of particles that do nothing but shit up your base.
Oh my, I dont tihnk these will ever go away, because they appeared when I was scrolling through custom npcs. They dont vanish when I kill the custom npcs, and using /cofh killall taint brings up nothing.
it's probably already dead
like I said, once they show up there is literally nothing you can do to get rid of them, just hope and pray you can lure them away before you kill them
Thaumcraft is now on 1.8.9 (not to be confused when it was on 1.8), we are up to tc5
1.8.9 probably isn't worth playing yet, but many mods are jumping to it as of late. 1.7.10 is still your go-to version for now
Educate me /mcg/,
I have some bros who play Minecraft together on Xbox One, and they've invited me to join their klan. Naturally, I don't have an Xbox One. But I do have a Windows 10, and I hear that it has cross platform.
Would I be able to play with them through that? Thanks for your help.
>playing minecraft on windows 10
>having windows 10
get that pleb shit out of there
afaik you have to pay extra for cross compatibility, but it's there
>I do have a Windows 10
I've having trouble with Mekanism's digital miner ore dictionary not recognizing certus quartz, no matter what I type in.
Which I don't fucking understand because it worked fine once before.
>Thaumic Horizons has a config now
>go check it out
>beta "personal dimension" stuff
>figure out how to work it
>can make permanent portals to this place and use them for fast travel
best thaumcraft addon just keeps getting better
If you don't use like 100-300 in the same area and aren't on a toaster, you are fine.
Remember, carpenters blocks are best as seasoning/slight detail, don't use them for literally everything
Only problem is you can't make the portals cross dimensional. Well, kinda.
You can build a gateway in any dim TO the pocket plane, and it will create a portal on the inner wall, but if you go back through that portal, it will just drop you somewhere in the overworld.
yeah, it's more for an overworld transport system at best
also making a fuckload of them for clouds seems like a good time investment
>cloud rains EXP when it naturally rains
>or free nuggets
hey /mcg/. I'm sick. I don't want to move from laying on my couch.
is there any good controller / console-style mod you know about? xpadder makes the controls feel weird and doesn't change the GUI obviously
I am a gigantic faggot and forgot my picture.
Yes, I have a ton of them and no practical use for them yet.
For now i'm just gonna set them as an option to purchase more time with my bitch. Maybe I can use them with custom npcs as the main currency. If there was a mod to change villager emeralds for other things that'd be nice.
floodlights broke for me, so, I tried to remake the general look of them.
didn't go as well as expected. nice-looking lighting is a pain in the ass.
No, THESE are floodlights.
I found a TC villager (light blue robed jew) in my world that trades them for emeralds and diamonds.
Stuffed him in a jar, and took him with me.
That, and smelting them into nuggets is the only use I've found for them.
>put down sapling
>slap it with bonemeal
uhhh...think I'm gonna stop trying to grow that now.
Back in business baby, cant believe it took longer to get than the silverwood staff.
My own. It used to be all microcrafting, but I got sick of that so I made it cost two nether stars, a block of diamond, and two blocks of gold. I figure when I prove I dont need it, I can have it.
I killed 6 withers in the nether today just for blood magic shit, using ars magica's projectile damage spell. they are basically just a floating poisonous skeleton.
Microcrafting is shit though, I'll give you that.
>throwing shit on the ground like a monkey nigger to scan it
These people are truly savages who don't deserve their purple robes.
I bet they don't even know their own aspects.
>vazkii is making another mod saturated with weeb references
Is this what portuguese people do when they're not worshipping their god Christiano Ronaldo, making bread or eating codfish? Obsessing over anime?
You can alchemy furnace them for 1 lucrum, which you can use for looting/fortune enchants, transmuting iron to gold, and a few other things.
If nothing else you can craft 3x3 of them into a gold bar.
They're for trading with the Pech NPCs. They can give you shit like saplings, mana beans, native ore clusters and a unique wand focus.
They only spawn rarely in magical biomes though.
I've inadvertantly turned myself into a shitty chinese knockoff of darth vader
is it worth buying minecraft at this stage to play multiplayer?
i have no friends and while minecraft is fun in short bursts it's basically just unceasing tedium the videogame, but maybe like runescape that tedium would be fun with other people.
Multiplayer is fun.
Here's a protip if you decide to jump the shark:
Never join a 4chan server, and if you do, try not to get too attached to it.
>too much drama
>not enough maturity
>constant thread of a wayward griefer or something
Of course there are very few successful 4chan servers but they still drop off the face of the internet like they all manage to do. Plus 4chan servers are pretty lax and not too strict so most of the time you won't run into LAND CLAIMED: memesterxD
No. Unless you have a private server with real life friends, MC multiplayer is absolute cancer.
You either play with the memers in this thread in a server owned by a retard who thinks the best/only way to fix things is to reset the server, or you play in a public server made up of 99% underage kids.
When using the terminal in Computercraft, is there some way to stop hotkeys from conflicting with the shit you're typing into the terminal?
Like when I press t the terminal doesn't pick it up until I go into controls and disable the binding for t.
the easiest way is to use MutliMC. get multimc, open it up, click add a new instance, then check the import modpack, and select the modpack you downloaded from dropbox (don't unzip it)
there, it'll create a new instance with that modpack and you're ready to go
you might also want to edit the instance and fiddle with the memory and permgen usage
I guess you could say that wheat's rich in iron.
How much is this game worth? Or is it better to pirate it instead.
whats a good modpack
i dont wanna spend my precious time to fuck with mods and their politics.
If you're a lazy fuck, Infinity is the best kitchen sink with a lot of "Balance" changes (Immersive Engineering excavator and Diesel Generator are fucked up, Big Reactors are nerfed) and it has an "Expert" mode that changes a lot of arbitrary settings/recipes to require absurd amounts of infrastructure across all mods in a specific 'tree' (Magic/Tech) but allows you to make creative-only items but requiring absurd amounts of things on a 9x9(?) crafting table.
If you're not a lazy fuck, do what >>128114834 said.
Well shit, I think I'm gonna have to build a home on that mountain.
What should I add to this pack? magic, comfy and exploration are the focuses
Notenoughmods reports over 1,100 mods available for 1.7.10. How do you people survive with like ten mods? Why would you even bother?
So we're scanning players now? >>128119993
Is in not normal to not have luxuria?
>get excited to play in a world with ATG
>quickly realize there are literally zero flat areas to build on
I did this to myself. I deserve this.
>captcha: choose all pictures with trains
>Not liking slimes
Shit taste desu
>he didn't disable the shitty and pointless lakes
Enjoy having pimples on your biomes I guess.
Unless it changed at some point, 2 should be the default. That's what I'm using.
The only thing I changed was the biome weights because fuck a taiga.
>not wanting nice picturesque lakes
Also Railcraft abyssal stone spawns under them sometimes.
So a friend of mine recently invited me to a tardis server where griefing and raiding is allowed, has factions, has survival and creative servers, as well as a casino and mobarena. People are welcome to come and play.
Fuck I want that map.
Apparently the system's been changed a bit in newer versions. The version I'm on is older but fuck updating worldgen mods.
Oh the small pools. I don't really notice them too much desu senpai
There's Bloody Thaumathurge Robes (or something among those lines) from Thaumic Bases, but I don't think that's too good, might just be a step up from the basic robes with a slightly stronger discount.
Looks like nothing but Thermal Expansion/Dynamics for the pipes and machines. It's inside a Compact Machines block which means this is its own dimension and it functions as a single placeable block in the overworld.
Witching Gadget's biome change is shit, it only has a literal handful of vanilla biomes.
Witchery and RandomThings have the best biome changing features since they also support modded biomes. Unfortunately, Witchery is definitely not tech, and I wouldn't call RandomThings tech either.
So I'm going to make my first mod pack.
As there anything to it apart from downloading the correct version of the mod, putting them in the right folder, and finally using this:
to resolve IDs?
MultiMC or FTB launcher to manage my mod instance?
Finally, all the colors of the ChromatiCraft rainbow have been linked.
Theres a standalone biome changing mod that supports all biomes, including mod one,its called Biome Wand. It's catch? Unless you cheat the wand oyu want in, you have to find it first in the overworld.
>decide to play the minecraft
>click the play button
>go to the bathroom
>make some breakfast of french toast
>fill up aquarium so its less noisy
>take dog outside
>games still loading all the maid addons
Still the best mod.
>finish killing a hydra for fiery blood for fiery armor
>check loot obtained with my looting X sword
>start mining some materials I could use
>hear a giggle
>maids dont spawn in the twilight forest
>hear it again
>start flying around forgetting who has that voice
I thought I lost her forever, but here she, was, in the hydra cave.
Those enchants dont have any effect on maids.
Waifu's from CustomNPCs, with a model ripped from Grimoire of Gaia. The death waypoint and minimap are from some minimap mod I don't remember but it's but it's shit and he should be using Xaero's instead. There's a bow on his hotbar from the Twilight Forest; the sword is probably a custom mod by him, the staff is from Thaumcraft, the ore is probably from Metallurgy, I think that's 18 blobs of Hydra meat, and a backpack from the Backpack's mod. There's also an NPC health indicator which I believe is from Damage Indicators.
Did I miss anything?
The meat is Venison, the map is journey map, and the hearts mod is the More Health mod, in that screenshot I effectively have 111 hearts. I should only have around 63, and I dont know where I gained the other 40, but I did the /kill command to reset my hearts.
Whoaaa. What is this? Who built it? Post more.
Is there way to make energized nodes less garish?
>That rainbow tree
Dear god I miss those things so much, whats the mod that adds them? I remember loving those things in magic world 2 but never did much when they god removed. Now that I've basically been adding and removing shit from mage quest as I please i've been wanting some old mods back.
hey guys when i run hexxit it crashes after the mojang screen and i went to the crash logs and it says pic related
it's a city i was working on and then forgot about
>tfw no decent modded servers up
can we please just get one kitchen sink pack that actually stays up? it would have mods everybody likes and they can just fucking ignore the ones they don't.
God damn, this is some cozy cyberpunk shit right here, I think I remember seeing this in a thread long ago.
is it a finished build? or did you have plans to do more with it.
I still have a fair bit to go before it's finished but i'll probably pick it up again soon
Well this doesn't look good...
densely packed cities that a nightmare to navigate are my fav thing to build
>try to make a nice looking base
>ends up being a 9x9 box with different wood types in it's construction
>come on the thread
Will to live: low
It's not too hard. You just gotta think in 3 dimensions.
>Start up new world
>Spawn in Origin Valley (so comfy)
>First night, already found an abandoned shelter and some wool
>Try to sleep
"You don't feel tired yet"
Nights I can't sleep I tent to just read in-game mod guides to pass the time, the ones that don't freeze the world that is.
feels a bit cozy, figuring out how the fuck to craft stuff with the sounds of the damned outside.
Alright, got the eldritch tab unlocked, guess its time to hunt some cultists. Gotta get rid of that caliburn sword, its too much for them, I dont wanna make Mackenzie totally useless.
