I've been pulling my hair out over this shit for a while now guys. I've got Dual Sheath Redux and Equipping Overhaul running, and they're playing nice. But for some reason I can't get my shield to show up on my back when I have my bow equipped. I've got DSR meshes and as far as I can tell I installed them properly with MO but it still won't work. It's not OCO, but I use some of the assets. Vanilla with better textures is what I decided on and I'm happy with it. OCO2 Bosmer look kind of fucked up, I like the fat jawed ones from vanilla. I was just curious about the eyes because while Morrowind had some all black eyes, it also had human-like eyes. And Morrowind is the lorefag game so I wasn't sure.

When quicksaving, all you do is delete the previous quicksave and replace it with another one. It's not like the quicksave is grabbing the old one and removing the parts that have been changed.

There's literally no difference in overwriting a save or saving in a new slot.

I'm using climates of tamriel and every now and again it just doesn't work. It either doesn't affect the weather or lighting or just crashes out.

I don't mind using a couple of different mods, my main priority is having dungeons that are dark enough and some good looking weather, but ELFX doesn't do the darkness well enough.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You feel much freer than in Skyrim without the frustrating elements of Morrowind combat. It's the most immersive ones.
And the npcs are fun to watch (they're bad but you grow fond of it).

I'm not criticizing your point of view, i was just being curious. I agree with what you said but i would have a hard time picking a favorite TES game. They have such vastly different pros that it's weird to think they are made by the same company.

I do think Oblivion has the most generic and bland setting, which is sad because they could have done so much more with the lore they had on Cyrodiil. Hell... I hope to make a mod some day to help the colovian and nibenese cultures more different between themselves.

Mods. Best quests in the series. It actually feels like it has a living breathing world thanks to the NPCs and their schedules. I like the cities and dungeons a lot. Combat is better than Morrowind. The term is overused but it's definitely "comfy".

And like you said, it's a happy medium between the three. I love Morrowind but there are things that its sequels do much better - combat, immersion. And other than graphics and set pieces, there aren't many things I think Skyrim does better than Oblivion. They removed too much of what I liked about TES to begin with.

Well... I would say that by having (mostly, let's never forget the whole problem with the scripting system running on a virtual machine and creating the infamous script lag) more potential for mods Skyrim ends up getting gameplay mods that are far superior to it's predecessors. The community also seems to have matured itself with regards to paying attention to lore-friendliness.

And i really wish they had not removed the spellmaking as well. Specially since they already limited A LOT of what magic can do. I did like how they tried to make magical combat feel more dynamic and have a "geometry" (stealing that expression from Duke Patrick :P) to it but i think they ended up simplifying it too much on the process. They also made magic too much about combat, there are very feel spells are are not combat oriented.

Well, the first few floors are very wide open spaces, which then lead to winding ramp/stairways further up the tower, which then, again, open up to broad pathways.

The entire interior of the place is sort of fucked due to story events going on inside of it at the time, with random rifts of Oblivion realms opening up. It was a very cool dungeon and actually impressed me. My first blind run of it with the rwo pictured in the screenshot (not Tharn) a few nights back sort of was the start of my taking TESO seriously.

SG. Choosing what texture you use comes down to the character and the vibe you're looking for, but SG is a good middleground to start with and includes a good number of things that are not included in some other textures, like lip shaders and such.

the civ general is actually a 4X general and not for a single specific game. In fact, endless legends is very popular and discussed alot.

Dark souls and Bloodborne have different generals, a few mobile games splittet up, the Final Fantasy games and the MMO have different generals, the wow private server and the nostalrius(a popular private server) have different generals and so on

Dota and LoL aren't discussed in the same general just because they are somewhat the same game.

why is that? because the people there can behave normally and decided is the best for the generals to split/keep them apart.
