Coming back to CoC after a long time of not playing. Should I use Faction Wars or Warfare or can I combine them? STCSWP OWR or AO and will these work with Warfare/Faction Wars?

Don't use the ENB with AA2 if you're having performance issues. The saturation and contrast shaders are disabled by default here so you don't need the ENB in my opinion.
Pretty darn great, 6/10. Would be 9/10 if you got a proper, western gun instead of that slavshit with pulleys. As long as you don't do that I won't stalk with you.
I have yet to find a better weapon than the AN-94.
To be honest I'm not loyal to east/western weapons, I just use the weapons that uses the most common ammo in a certain part of the game, I don't even hoard and I just stash meds at the bar.

Which of the CoC mods would be worthwhile to stream ironman runs on again? I haven't been here in months it seems, and there are quite a few mods so I am getting that itch to stalk.
Do any of the mods in particular have any downsides or upsides I should know about? Something you preferrably would only find out after playing.

You can get a Colt 6920 for $800 and build an AR using PSA parts for $600. That's disregarding and discounts of course, I've heard of people buying brand new Colts for 500 bucks.
Now let's compare it to a Saiga AK (made by Izmash) did cost like $400 or $500 before the price scare. Now add a picatinny rail mount to mount a red dot (because it's no longer 1960 and if you're planning on using the gun seriously you better have an optic on it) for 100 bucks and the price is pretty much equal.
Of course you could disregard laws completely and buy a surplus AK for $100 I've seen on sale Czech gun store websites, but we're talking about new guns here and owning illegal guns is not that great of an idea.

So far I'm having a blast with the game unmodded, making my way through the Zone and doing Zone stuff. But I need to ask you guys something.

I'm not a big fan of semi-automatic weapons as they are inaccurate for long-range shooting and consume a hefty amount of ammunition in a short amount of time, and shotguns are not an option either because they are more of a close-range weapon.

To answer your question, there really isn't such a mod. Assault rifles and pistols are usually the focus of weapon mods.

Is there a way to re-enable getting stash locations off corpses in CoC/OXR?
I think it's kind of dumb that I can collect 10,000 PDAs off dead shitters, but I can't actually get any stash locations until I sell them to a trader.

Hunting rifle is a very unspecific term. There's a double-barreled shotgun and an SVD, I guess. Those two are often used for hunting.

If you look at faction_brain.script for both of those, line 1127 is commented out (and is certainly the line that log is talking about).

Thanks! Does this translation fix the menu crash bug? As I recall the translator unpacked almost all of config, including files that didn't need translation which then conflict with patch changes. The menu crash is only the most obvious symptom, other fixes are being overwritten when you add the translation

The turn off PvP out in the open by anyone (except in clan wars). Put a money cap. And then TRIPLED the amount of damage monsters do and how much health they have. They only triple the amount of exp.
The developers are really horrible at making smart design choices. It's like ok, you make monsters harder. However, now I'm spending triple the money on ammo. There's nothing in the game that they messed with that makes up for the drain. Now killing a boar can cost as much as 400 rubbies and you only make like 700 rubbies off of a kill?
Avoiding enemies and artifact farming is the name of the game for sure in there now.

After that German captured weapon engineers made it be actually relevant with the AKM and some other variants. The Pripyat Reborn packaged with AO 3.1 keeps spawning zombies inside of Yanov station, and I'm 90 percent sure its mean to be loners.
The serious answer is that it endeavors to make the game as much of a struggle as possible, while giving no reprieve.
I disagree with the oasis and compass being nerfed, since the whole reason why they are so valuable is because of their utility.
To me, the zone is meant to be a miserable, decaying place that is unstable, but there is a lot of hope (or at least cash, fame, technology, research, stalking) that draws people to it. Its not a hellhole dedicated to making human life miserable.
Sooner or later you'll have to realize your Chesnokov memes are stale and that "tacticool" shit actually improves weapons when used wisely.

Game overall feels more like a chore than a game. They tried to make Stalker feel more "miserable" when in reality they just made it a hell of a lot more boring.
I don't. It's a good habit to have lots of manual saves, in case one or two of them get fucked-up, or something else happens and you need to replay an oddly-specific part of the game.
so I looked through all_spawn and found no record there.
I ended up going through jup_a6 (Yanov Station) and found that the zombies were being spawned there, but when I looked through the spawn options, all I saw is that its calling to [email protected] 2(2).
I looked through every script thus far and I don't know how pripyat reborn alters spawns so it can put in zombies. I heard it was an atmosfear issue, but no luck there either.

when i played ao3.1 with pripyat reborn i also noticed some zombies in skadovsk/yanov, but there are also regular loner spawns everywhere.
from what i've seen zombies don't really spawn inside of the station, but they just walk through the closed door. i doubt you will be able to fix this.

So I want to talk Lost Alpha. I was enjoying it a good bit at first, but now I'm around X16 and a couple things are just bugging the shit out of me.
The first one is how bullet spongy the other stalkers are. Most bandits can take 2 rounds to the head before they die. Military and Mercs in Exos can take 5 head shots before finally going down while I get mowed down by a damn MP5.
I have no problems with any of the mutants other than the annoying as fuck Controller AoE that fucks up your aim.
I'm also getting sick and tired of having the controls taken from me for their shitty "cut scenes". Just got into X16 and this one takes the cake so far. I can only imagine how much worse they have in store for me later on.

I like Misery. Here are three reasons why:

Things are expensive. Makes you have to plan your investments more. You can't justify buying an expensive gun because you want to try it out, and you can't really upgrade an armor that you are going to throw away in the next days.
>Combat is unforgiving
Caught out in the open by some mercs? Good luck. I really enjoy the feel of the guns.

You never really had to worry about mutants in vanilla. In Misery, regular dogs and fleshes will kill you easily. Chimeras are a death sentence unless you are prepared.
I actually do enjoy having a "schedule" in the game, like sleeping at night and doing things during the days. I plan my days carefully and make sure that I don't spend too much time during a day doing nothing. I also enjoy spending time in the base managing my inventory, trying to figure out how I can maximize profit.
There are things that I don't like about the mod, such as the color palette or the fact that artifacts are largely useless.
Granted, I see a point where money will be useless and that will take out a lot of fun of the game. Until that point I will enjoy the shit out of this mod.

I agree with the points you mentioned but these are my concerns with the mod:
- Owl and Beard have varying buying prices of miscellaneous items, making you spend so much time running between the two and comparing prices to get the most profit, which you need considering the tough economy
- some of the smart terrains derived from MSO were omitted in the latest versions because of stability reasons. While I certainly did have stability issues in Misery 2.0, I did not have them in MSO itself so I believe it's a fuck up on their end
- it looks goddamn ugly. Inconsistent (and usually terrible) weapon model and animation quality and very visible tiling of terrain textures.
- profiting from selling artifacts is made central to the game mechanics but they didn't address the lopsided artifact spawn system of vanilla i.e. shitloads of artifacts available in your first run, but hardly anything spawns afterwards
as someone who has played through misery several times...
there will be shit you probably wont like. but IMHO it's worth at least a playthrough. especially if you get TAZ + Le miserables (the unfuck patch)

-noprefetch would GIVE YOU STUTTERING because you have to load texture and meshes the first time you encounter them. If you playing with AO they probably didn't add the meshes to the prefetch.ltx which is why it stutters.
Are the mutants in OGSE supposed to be bullet sponges? I've never heard of a boar that can take 4-5 slugs to the head and survive. People should make helmets out of their skulls and bulletproof vests out of their hide.

Boars are tough in OGSE as are some others. You'll learn to respect and avoid. Or just edit m_boar.ltx and change the resistances. Also, yes, slugs are what you need against them. I suggest you install that turrets mod posted above, it'll save you some severe grief at a particularly bad moment in your future when hard-won triumph shall become sackcloth and ashes.

Pro tip: If you hit them in the right spot the first time, they'll stand there for a few seconds and shake their head. At this moment you can easily strafe around them and stab, stab, stab. That strafe circling also help with big packs. Six boars at once? No problem for stalkers sharp knife!
It's in the db, you'll need to unpack it. Get the "universal db unpacker" from the tools repo up top. It lets you scan the contents of all the db files at one go and selectively unpack just what you need.
