Close quarters is the exact place you should be using it. People who use it out in the open are asking to be killed, although it can at least force players to retreat. Its also amazing for flanking. In payload it can destroy cart pushers that are distracted. The new payload map is actually super good for the Phlog. Lots of indoors.

here's a quick sketch.
The left most doodle is the view model you would see. Imagine the black box, but with more polygons so it's a lot less blocky, and you see soldier's fingers (how it was held in combat before firing)
The middle sketch is what it would look like. Basically the same black box, but I would tilt a bit so it naturally fits on soldier's shoulder, instead of clipping into him. The back toob would be copper colored, with australium reflections. Just imagine an australium weapon but copper.
What do you think? worth doing?

most loadouts try to go for some theme, but they always fail and look awkward. You're basically going to try to look like on thing, but end up looking half like sniper from TF2 and half from something else. It never looks good.

I really am at my limit. I never really subscribed to the idea that unlock-able weapons ruined the game but Im starting to see the point. After so many years playing and enjoying this game, the things that are just complete bullshit start to stand out more than ever.
It frustrates me that no matter how good I get, I wont be able to avoid the bullshit deaths from crits or a huntsman arrow coming at me from nowhere or the phlog or a direct hit rocket.
Valve doesnt know how to balance the game around all these weapons and its starting to punish the good players because of the frustration of knowing you could have avoided dying this game if only it wasnt for the amount of bullshit, broken unlocks.
I used to be able to stand it but these days all the bullshit deaths just make me constantly more frustrated and annoyed at how bad Valve is at making this game fair.

So I plan on being an Engie main. The only problem is that I dislike wrench engie but I love battle engie. I find that being a wrench engie doesnt do much good unless you are behind your sentry protecting it and Im not into that. The roaming ability of the battle engie appeals more to me and lets me help my team (Dispensers, teleports) more than if I just went pyro.

i still suggest going wrench engie, it's not that hard.
Use the wrangler when you need to snipe, when your sentry is getting spammed by stickies/rockets/heavy.
Rescue ranger = godsent, hide somewhere and repair your sentry with it.
Use your wrench to refil ammo whenever there's a push.
Spies only attack whenever there is a push so look out for that
Call out amby spies wherever they are.

The most expensive skin in the game is a glock skin. Glock is the main pistol for T's, half the server, and with T's having the AK, there's usually no need to upgrade it. Glock is carried by someone on probably close to 100% of rounds. (maybe it's revolver now)

A single flaregun is basically a guaranteed death for a scout.
As long as they stay close to a teammate and airblast to disrupt one or two of their shots or stick to closed spaces you can actually shut them down pretty well.
Of course a pocket natasha heavy or sentries would be better

90% of the 6v6 bans are out of concept, rather than actual overpowered weapons. 6v6 players can play around them (or at least I hope they can), they just don't like doing it.
The only weapons actually banned for being overpowered are also on the HL blacklist, which I believe encompasses about 4-5 weapons.

Scout has a big one, you need to know when to fight, how to aim while moving to evade attacks and deal damage, how to ambush, exploit terrain to avoid splash damage, prevent getting flanked by other scout in competitive, push the objective when unoccupiee since does it twice as fast, etc.
Spy has to know not only how to trickstab, but also to know when to pick his target, how to use terrain to remain undetected and reach places, how to shoot people in the head repeteadly to kill anyone when discovered by 1 or 2 enemies, know what's going on, distract enemies in order to allow his team to fight against less enemies at a time, know how to be unpredictable after a cloak, etc.

I like to play with the Sydney Sleeper when I'm not Lucksmanning. I don't go for headshots because I suck at aiming. Body shots do the trick 80% of the time because most people have eaten some kind of damage. I move around a lot so I can appreciate how well the maps are made and to avoid spies.
