It's no secret that the socket update is very close. Could be end of January, could even be in March, but it's close enough to start planning for it.

In the past month(s), we started to get

1) Fortnights that drop characters that are really useful for socketing, and need to be farmed (Croco for Slasherdile, Luffy for Mistak3 and Log, Zoro for Asura)

2) A LOT of new raidbosses (Blackbeard, Doffy and Enel in less then 2 months, while the gap between Ivankov and Garp was 5 months).

3) 60 stamina raidbosses like Doffy and Enel require a shitton more gems to max out compared to 40 stamina ones, so you NEED to save them for socketing if you don't want to lose 30+ gems
