Heard from a friend that SL150 is the main NG level, with upgrades hits about 2M SM for PVP.
DaS2 has been in my backlog for a long while, so when SotFS I figured it was finally time to try it. I go for a Quality build for the first character every time, it's usually the most fun.

What weapons are viable in a pvp situation? I mostly want to sunbro it up or blue sentinel invade, so a couple different weapon suggestions would be fine.
I really like the dragonslayer spear aesthetic, but what weapon hits the hardest with a faith build? I know you cant enchant the dragonslayer spear.

Undead Crypt is pretty great. Giant pit for infinite HP shitters, If you're in a 2 or 3v1 you can whack the bell before the fog gate to even things up, or just have a good ol' duel in the room before that hallway.
That's true in some cases, but he's making a quality build. 40/40 lets you use damn near every weapon in the game, and powerstance a lot of them. I'd say that he could get some good mileage out of his character.

Dark Souls 2 does a lot of things as thought it was made by people who knew of Dark Souls only from internet memes, "Its really hard and there is deep lore and praise the sun" seems to be the only things they really knew about the first game and even then not how to implement those things well.

DS2 is about your character going to cure his undeadedness and then accidentally becoming king. It's designed to only make sense if you have spent at least 10 hours watching Vaatividya, The game is quite a lot worse than DS1, so just go into the game with your expectations adjusted accordingly and try to have a good time.

I dont like to think too much about das1 lore and how characters are connected becuz it's a lot easier to just summerise what's going on with das3's premise and the whole balance being broken = first flame dying = world reverting to lifeless and deathless etc.

See the problem with DaS2's story is that the goalpost moves the entire game so you never really feel any accomplishment or closure when its finally done. DaS1 moves the goalpost once, first it tells you to ring the bells of awakening, and then you are told that you need to defeat Gwyn, you are told to get the lordvessel / lord souls too, but its clearly stated that these are so that you can get to gwyn.
If DaS2 had simply told you outright once you found the king what your actual goal was from there, it would have worked a lot better, but the final result feels more like just going up to random people and doing what they say for the sake of doing it rather than working towards an overall goal.
I doubt DaS3 will bother decanonizing any of DaS2, it will probably just do the same thing that DaS2 did to DaS1 and just ignore it and it's themes entirely and just do something completely different, though since it's Miyazaki directing again he throw in a lot of DaS1 stuff for consistency. Really I don't care as long as the animations and overally speed go back to DaS1 levels (or maybe BB levels), as the floatyness and slow healing of DaS2 where pretty frustrating.

You are given 2 total goals, find the king and after that fails take the throne. The 4 great souls are clearly stated that they are needed for getting to the king and the ashen mist heart is clearly stated to be needed for sitting at the throne.

Vanilla DaS2 seems to be about the undead curse cycles repeating but the additions to SotFS made it so that it's about breaking the cycle. Somehow collecting 4 crowns makes one immune to the curse.
From what we know, DaS3 seems to be about the return dragons and arch trees, the age of ancients, the sun bleeding out, etc. If that's really the case, then it's already a reference to the actions of aldia and that one Cursed Undead that went with the alternate SotFS ending.

That's my typical strategy against it with most weapons, just run out further than it's legs and it'll probably fire the laser. Just run under the legs to the opposite head as soon as it starts firing.

If you invade a sinner then that means the reason he is in the area is because he is trying to invade someone else, and you usually do that from a bonfire

Do you know how "sin" works? You accumulate it from killing NPCs, as well. So if you finish NG by clearing the NPCs for their gear before going to NG+, you are most likely a sinner and can be invaded by blues.

I have a lot of fun powerstancing Blue flames in pvp and pve. But it's incredibly squishy due to the stat spread.

The Dragon dropped a key. You can use it in the Depths to get to another area. There's another way you can take but you need to walk all the way back to Firelink or Darkroot Basin.

What's bad about dying is that online matchmaking is done via soul memory (total souls acquired). If you lose too much souls, you'll be lower level than invaders in your range.
Try Drangleic castle or Grand Cathedral. Players are usually wrapping up NG at that range.
Beware that some grand cathedral summons are for loyce soul farming. Host will jump ship when ivory king spawns.

That's not really being vague at all. The Firekeeper in the opening cutscene says you won't know why because that's how the curse works in Dark Souls 2. You lose your reason and become drawn to Drangleic. This is why cutscene shows you how the character's eyes are going blank. The Emerald Herald asks you if you're the next monarch or just a pawn of fate because it really could be either. You're just a simple undead, but if you prove yourself capable, then you'll become the next lord or you just might end up like Crestfallen Saulden. The ending is no more vague than Dark Souls 1. You either take up the Throne of Want and continue the cycle or you leave and try to find your own way to break the curse.

I think you beed to be a bit more chaotic looking. When I made one in that theme for DaS1, I had an Egghead, Ornholio's armor, Thorn Gloves, and Havel's Legs while I used the Demon's Greathammer. Items that looked rugged and heavy, like Izalith itself. My character himself was Indian-toned with big high round eyebrows, small eyes, and the default purple hair because I thought its description of "belonging to a nearly extinct race" fit Izalithians. He looks like someone who lived in lava-flooded Angkor Wat. Yours doesn't give me that feeling, but maybe it's too dark to see all those details.

I can see the comparison to capra, but imo its way better designed. Capra was in a tiny little cramped area with trees and shit blocking your view, and RRA is in an open space so you can see where the bullshit dogs are. To balance that out, they added more small dogs and made them slowly apply toxic.
Most of the fight is just killing the toxin rats. After that, you can just stay under the big guy like Sif and tank his charge attacks with a shield.
If you're not using a shield, then I dunno what the fuck you're supposed to do.
Back in the day I spent plenty of time testing against NPC red phantom invaders and red phantom NG+ enemies and the only conclusion I can come to is... they cheat.
That's honestly the best I can come up with. I can sit and test against the same enemy and I can stun lock them 99 times perfectly then the 100th time all their attacks gain hyper armour and become impossible to counter hit regardless if you hit them at the start, middle or end of an animation.
From what i have heard, dsp is actually decent at fighting games, but he can't play them online. But that is just hearsay. I don't watch him beyond the snippets that get posted here.

You're either in an area that doesn't allow online play or you forgot to remove the burned effigy effect that applies whenever you kill a boss. It lasts 30 minutes, but you can disable it early at a bonfire for that area.

Nope, it depends entirely on the weapon. Weapons that weigh less will swing faster and use up less stamina. It also depends on the moveset, some moves are just faster than others.

Dude, play without lock-on. Lock-on is inferior to playing without it in the original Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls) because movement is restricted to 4 directions while locked on. They fixed this in Dark Souls II, but managed to break PvP in every other aspect (iframes being tied to a stat, soul memory).
Being a spellsword is so damn fun in DS2, I hope at least keep and hopefully even widen the variety of spells in DS3.

Why does everything in DaSII do stupid low damage to each other? The royal rat authority does literally 6 damage to the little rats, which at first I thought might've been something like, okay they're both rats, maybe they do less damage.
And then I try to fight the dragon on Heide's tower and everything can run through his flamebreath taking barely any damage and his footstomps do 20 damage, why even bother letting enemies take damage from each other if it's going to be so pitifully low.

It's the only way the game's any fun. I'm pretty sure the devs just balanced the game around that.
Things like repair are useful, ranged attacks are obviously nice to use offhand and keeping your distance can be another substitute for the useless shields (besides more precise dodging) and the only way you'll be dealing serious damage would be with a buffed weapon.
I focus on melee with Dark Weapon but have Dark Orb to keep sorcerers in check from casting any time.

Flame Swathe will absolutely destroy Darklurker. If you manage to get it to connect while he's in the middle of splitting you'll hit both bodies at the same time, dealing double damage.
What do you all want added in DaS3? I REALLY FUCKING want the ability to make a mimic and set one up. This mimic would of course be a PvP tool so it would be weird as fuck but ive always wanted to watch as an invader opened a fucking mimic. If that could not be done Id love to bring back the mimic head but this time with full mimic armor so I could play as mimic. This set should also include a mimic weapon. Not sure how it would work but im sure they could figure something out. Maybe a mimic spell could work. Some fucking miracle/pyromancy anything really, that summons a mimic or turns mimics on your side! fuck now im getting excited. Please bring based mimicry into DaS3
there is no ss scaling to show it, but the scaling should rise. equip it and then hover over the infusion, while checking your stats, you’ll see an increase in damage unless you have low int. just hovering only shows base values
