Reminder to ignore, filter, and report the shitposter that frequents this general.
Here is a list of topics he posts:
>how much he dislikes 4kings and the drawfag who is associated with them
>random fanart of specfic characters (Kalameet, gwyndolin, seath, etc)
>fanart made by Menas
>his "Husbando tier list" and specific fanart of Sif and the Everlasting Dragon from ash like.
>picture of all the bosses in DaS1 (with 4kings always blotted or outright removed). He always starts with some varient of "circle your favourite souls boss, /dsg/".
>posts that have extreme dislike towards DaS2 (have some varient of "Dasdreck and DaS2babby")
>a list for "das3 players" about how they should hate DaS2 and praise DaS1
This isn't the only general/board he visits either; he shitposts on /wowg/, /tesg/, /fog/, and on /pol/.
NOW PLEASE FILTER, REPORT, IGNORE, AND MOVE ON.
I am glad to see that I am not the only one who is annoyed by all of the shit posting.
Beyond the gargoyle halberd what are some good weapons for +5 chaos?
Heard from a friend that SL150 is the main NG level, with upgrades hits about 2M SM for PVP.
DaS2 has been in my backlog for a long while, so when SotFS I figured it was finally time to try it. I go for a Quality build for the first character every time, it's usually the most fun.
>invading in Harvest Valley/Earthen Peak
It almost feels like cheating. Even when I invaded a host with summons, the victory was really trivial to obtain.
What's your preferred area to invade /dsg/?
Mostly in annoyed rants, and it seems an extra complication coming from DeS and DaS. Told me try and stay around 2M for the most NG PVP.
Where's the 'ceiling'? More like 180/200 then?
Yeah that's about the arbitrary cap that was set. Staying at 150 is all well and good, but once you start running into Havel Monsters and Vengarl Idiots nobody will judge you for bumping it up a bit.
>retard mod deleting dark souls related images
might as well make this a text board
I want to do a faith based build
What weapons are viable in a pvp situation? I mostly want to sunbro it up or blue sentinel invade, so a couple different weapon suggestions would be fine.
I really like the dragonslayer spear aesthetic, but what weapon hits the hardest with a faith build? I know you cant enchant the dragonslayer spear.
This might be my favourite piece of DaS fan art.
Undead Crypt is pretty great. Giant pit for infinite HP shitters, If you're in a 2 or 3v1 you can whack the bell before the fog gate to even things up, or just have a good ol' duel in the room before that hallway.
That's true in some cases, but he's making a quality build. 40/40 lets you use damn near every weapon in the game, and powerstance a lot of them. I'd say that he could get some good mileage out of his character.
post your drunk-pvp weapon.
it can be either the weapon you use to win in pvp even though you're drunk as fuck, or a weapon so stupid only a drunk person would use it.
So I absolutely loved Dark Souls, beat it about 3 days ago and I'm halfway through DS2. But the only thing I'm wondering is how these games are so fucking addicting. Like fuck, it's so hard to stop.
too bad DS2 feels way easier, and the enemy designs feel cheaper
>didn't play the best game in the series.
why would you play the shitty games first.
>Going max level takes a while and it is boring.
The moment I started filling all my slots with ultra weapons and made use of dual wield/powerstance I had the most fun in the whole series.
This shit isn't really viable until you go past SL350.
Leveling up gives you a constant feed of new tactics to play with.
SL150 just consists of robflynn speed weapon shittery.
Did any of this actually happen, I've been coming to /dsg/ for a little over 2 years now and I never seen this, or any fallout from it except from one menas spammer who may or may not be menas but spams his art all the same.
>tfw yaoi shitposters are fucking up my dark souls threads.
fuck this shit im going to reddit
Man, can you think of anything more pathetic than posting the same 5 things over and over again on every thread ever? How much of a fucking waste of human resource do you have to be to keep something like that up? Think of all the things on this earth that you could be doing instead. I mean, we probably shouldn't pay attention to anyone who does that, but goddamn, at a certain point wouldn't you just want to eat a gun because this is all you've ever done with your life?
Good thing there's nobody that does that here.
Any of you anons who could be so kind helping me trade down onion bro set that I farmed on my 1.1M char to my Siegmeyer character at 412K SM?
no dude trust me, I know oolacile totally went to shit cause of me, and then new londo totally went to shit because of me, but trust me my dude, you should totally side with me.
Pic is a redraw of a frame from Metalokalypse, talking character (lead guitar) has a Norweigian accent or some shit and is an asshole to his bandmate who does the backing guitar in the band.
Haven't seen Metalocalypse? Basically its two fellows with a heavy Scandinavian accents that cannot into English very well, and the Four Kings look like they're from Scandinavian metal band.
Nice source you got there, go back to spamming since its the only thing your krokodil brain can manage to do. Hopefully it'll kill you and we'll know when we can have a /dsg/ without shit.
i've seen some clips but i haven't followed it
>lead guitar is annoyed the backing "copies" him
the faces are really similar too
does anyone ever say that kaathe told the oolacilians to dig up manus?
and new londo didn't directly go to shit, after they tried to take over they were thwarted and then flooded
Start as Knight.
As much Vigor as you feel comfy with (I stick at 30)
Enough Adapt to get 99 Agility
Dump the rest in Vitality to be wear any armour or wield any weapon.
Or, get Vitality to 14, get a ring called Flynn's Ring for free 50 damage and get 110 agility. Depends if you want to be a walking tank or cloth-wearing roller.
I was speaking more on the 'caring about being healthy' subject bruh. the salad, which is mostly water and plant fiber, help your GI tract by pushing the steak you just ate through properly.
What's the matter junior? Don't you like your veggies? Gotta problem with pan seared asparagas with herbs and olive oil, or squash with parmesan and cracked pepper?
I don't know then, all I know is it's not fanart
where did you downloaded these?
my concept art are just pictures like pic related, nothing hd
>playing DaSII for the first time
>I guess my quest is to try and not be undead
>so I need souls apparently
>don't know who's souls other than some people called "the old ones"
>no one's told me where I might find these old ones, who they were, or how they're supposed to help me reverse the curse of the undead
>no idea where to go, just kind of try and figure out where I'm supposed to go
>eventually get to sinner's rise
>kill some random guy called the lost sinner, he's a pretty underwhelming boss given he's just a guy with a sword, way easier than the shitty boss fight with the 3 ruin sentinels or the pursurer
>GREAT SOUL EMBRACED
>go lit a bonfire
>PRIMEVAL BONFIRE LIT
>level up lady says "you have the soul of an old one, not something many undead can claim"
okay honestly what the fuck. Am I just stupid for not understanding what's going on and who anyone is or what the locations are or something? Because I have no idea why I'm doing anything I'm doing.
Is there an actual strategy to Demon of Song or do I have to just stand in front of him when his face is exposed and he is doing his arm swipes and stuff and hope to hell I get lucky with roll iframes?
Dark Souls 2 does a lot of things as thought it was made by people who knew of Dark Souls only from internet memes, "Its really hard and there is deep lore and praise the sun" seems to be the only things they really knew about the first game and even then not how to implement those things well.
Stand until he opens his face, then backpedal while he's smacking. On his last smack, roll in and hit his face a couple times. Repeat.
You're not stupid for not understanding what's going on. It's not supposed to be straightforward. You are stupid for assuming it'd be straightforward, tho.
So I hear that joining the Coveneant of Champions in DaS2 no makes enemies spawn an unlimited number of times, is this only in the Scholar of First Sin edition or on the PS3 / 360 version too?
It was straightforward in dark souls 1 though.
"this is nito, gwyn, witch of izalith, and the furtive pygmy, this is what they do, war with dragons, age of fire, first flame dying out, undead curse, prophecy as told by oscar, frampt tells you what you need to do and why."
In this game all I got was a really long cutscene about how bad it is to be undead.
Not him, but From likes to release only some of the concept art digitally as promotion.

DS2 is about your character going to cure his undeadedness and then accidentally becoming king. It's designed to only make sense if you have spent at least 10 hours watching Vaatividya, The game is quite a lot worse than DS1, so just go into the game with your expectations adjusted accordingly and try to have a good time.
>after it has already been established
But absolutely nothing has already been established.
You're dropped in without context or a meaningful introduction.
If you mean DaS1 establishes things for DaS2, you and I clearly disagree in a lot more than just this, and there's no way I'll be able to fit both how wrong you are and how much I hate you within the character limit.
favourite fashion by other people
>But absolutely nothing has already been established.
Literally everything you would need to know was established in 1.
But hey you are just a retard out to bitch for the sake of bitching so who cares, retards have been wrong on the internet before and will be wrong on the internet in the future.
Nowhere yet because I'm still working on it. Here's an older scan of the Japanese edition: http://www.mediafire.com/download/fl31fm97s731kma/Dark_Souls_Design_Works.zip The scan quality is pretty bad though.
I dont like to think too much about das1 lore and how characters are connected becuz it's a lot easier to just summerise what's going on with das3's premise and the whole balance being broken = first flame dying = world reverting to lifeless and deathless etc.
if das3 isnt about the dark lord blocking out light then colour me surprised
p.s. das2 is non-canon except for aldia and new ending.
Recent picture but the outfit is by a guy who's not been online for over half a year and a personal friend of mine. I renamed the character I made to copy his items as his name.
In DS2, sometimes the NPCs give up trying to provide exposition and simply ask the player to fill in the blanks themselves
Firekeeper in opening cutscene
>You'll find yourself at its decrepit gate...
>Without knowing why, lol.
>Are you...the next Monarch?
>Or merely the pawn of fate?
>I dunno, just take this and go kill stuff...
>You, who link the fire, you, who bear the curse…
>Once the fire is linked, souls will flourish anew, and NG+ will happen.
>It is your choice…To embrace, or renounce this…
>Think up your own head-canon ending...
>Heheh, I believe we've been acquainted.
>Young Hollow, conqueror of fear.
>What drives you so, to overcome this supposed curse?
>Can you plz come up with your own motivation?
>I lost everything, but remained here, patiently.
>The throne will certainly receive you.
>But the question remains…
>What do you want, truly?
>Light? Dark? Or something else entirely…
>We have a new ending scene, so you can simply expand your head canon. This shouldn't be hard.
Im still disappointing that DaS2 didnt take place in the age of dark, which was the inevitable outcome of DaS1, and then proceeded to ruin DaS1's lore by introducing a concept of cycles which means that everything in DaS1 was meaningless anyway.
DaS3 will probably take place in the age of the dark. Also don't worry about DaS2, it will be hugely forgotten and referenced through returning items and spells without acknowledging any plot change.
Embers instead of humanity is a good subversion.
So then logically speaking everything not stated to be false in DS3 would be true.
And color me impressed if the entirety of DS3 is dedicated to decanonizing a supposedly "throw away title"
That's a really nice corner you backed yourself into, but I'm sure you'll just go with some retarded "IF IT'S NOT IN 3 ITS NOT CANON" approach wile ignoring everything about 1 thats not going to be in 3.
Again you are a retard and you are wrong, but whatever helps you sleep at night
A rhetorical question is a question that you ask without expecting an answer. The question might be one that does not have an answer. It might also be one that has an obvious answer but you have asked the question to make a point, to persuade or for literary effect.
Are you this dumb or just pretending?
You are given specific goals
>Go meet the king
>try to go to the king
>Seek greater souls
>You get the greater souls
>King aint at the castle
>Go the the crypt to meet the king
>Take the ring and go to aldias keep
>Take the ashen mist heart and go to the memories
>GJ you have the giants kinship go sit on the throne
Your goals are pretty explicitly stated throughout the game, the DLC is the least connected and you have the least reason for doing them but even then Vendric tells you to do that shit because
>the rest will follow
I hate reading /dsg/ because most people are blindly rude and resort to shitflinging as a means of getting a point across. You're a cool guy, anon, try to pretend these faggots don't exist.
DaS2 is bad though.
See the problem with DaS2's story is that the goalpost moves the entire game so you never really feel any accomplishment or closure when its finally done. DaS1 moves the goalpost once, first it tells you to ring the bells of awakening, and then you are told that you need to defeat Gwyn, you are told to get the lordvessel / lord souls too, but its clearly stated that these are so that you can get to gwyn.
If DaS2 had simply told you outright once you found the king what your actual goal was from there, it would have worked a lot better, but the final result feels more like just going up to random people and doing what they say for the sake of doing it rather than working towards an overall goal.
I doubt DaS3 will bother decanonizing any of DaS2, it will probably just do the same thing that DaS2 did to DaS1 and just ignore it and it's themes entirely and just do something completely different, though since it's Miyazaki directing again he throw in a lot of DaS1 stuff for consistency. Really I don't care as long as the animations and overally speed go back to DaS1 levels (or maybe BB levels), as the floatyness and slow healing of DaS2 where pretty frustrating.
Sunken (after rotten)-> Iron (after old iron king)->Ivory (Shrine of winter)
Don't start doing them until you have the ashen mist heart or at least have made it all the way to castle drangleic though, they are not meant for early/midgame characters
>Non-Big M games
It's the same in both games, you fight the owners of the lord souls, and then the Dark Soul at the end (well, it was the DLC in DaS1, but whatever), DaS2 really just doesnt care about the whole age of dark / age of light thing, since it seems to imply that they just sorta switch back and forth all the time so it doesnt really matter.
Which is the same in 2
You are given 2 total goals, find the king and after that fails take the throne. The 4 great souls are clearly stated that they are needed for getting to the king and the ashen mist heart is clearly stated to be needed for sitting at the throne.
>If DaS2 had simply told you outright once you found the king what your actual goal was from there, it would have worked a lot better, but the final result feels more like just going up to random people and doing what they say for the sake of doing it rather than working towards an overall goal.
Again you are flat out wrong, you are told that after meeting the king your goal is to sit on the throne but you can't do that until you go past aldias keep and get the giants kinship.
> he throw in a lot of DaS1 stuff for consistency
By that you mean he will throw in a lot of stuff because he like reusing his and other peoples ideas?
Half of the core mechanics of DS1 are ripped straight from DeS and make little sense in the new world
>fog covering the rest of the world
>miracles vs sorceries
>hollowing and undead characters dying permanently in general
DS3 will reference DS1 thats for sure, but its not for the reasons you would think
tbf the 4kings shitposter often posts in this thread against him self saying "watch this get deleted by the nazi mods who hate 4kings" and then deletes his own post. Wouldn't put it past him
I'm a bit saturated of the townshit meta, trying to spice things up with random invasions.
Been doing the royal forest with a fairly unoptimized hybrid SL70 build using half upgraded equipment, but I'm still winning by a landslide most of the time and this isn't fun for anyone involved.
How do I spice things up?
That's why I'm not him family. I msg'd menas on devart recently about it because I was concerned.
High level souls pvp has always been bad to be honest. Just do invasion PVP like chameleon fall control catacombs, karma justice ascended pyromancy flame Parish or greatbow Upper Blighttown.
FUCK YOUR LAGGY RETARDED HITBOX SPELLS SOMEHOW HITTING ME ACROSS THE GLOBE
FUCK YOU GO FUCKING DIE
someone call the /fa/shion police, im ruining moods AND fashion
plays game 2 of a series and understands nothing
gosh I wonder why
the intro from ds 1 provides info to play ds 2 without problems
wants to reincarnate
fuug I am spider now
thats what you get for experimenting bad Karma!
the only important thing ds 1 are
the flame needs fuel
you are nothing special
the great denial fags are at it again
there are no gods either DS1 stop pulling stuff out of your ass they are jus powerfull beings and nothing else
yes and vendrick tells you it
in ds 1 also a random guy tells you to ring the bells and after a retarded snake tells you get the vessel and fill it with powerful souls
wow that is really better!
so you need straight answers in your game then stop playing dark souls since they don´t give straight answers and most is made up fan shit
or worship vaati he seems the right guy for you
and rest of your written stuff is your typical it is not like 1 so it is bad shit
and neither ds 1 cares about dark and light it is only the snakes which were pretty much thrown away in the endings
post rare demons souls fanart
(they are mocking him for using the soul brandt)
I've been looking for part 3 onwards of this. I have part 2 and will post it.
jfc the aliasing
>there are no gods either
Literally referred to as gods, I hope your not applying some "well they are not the christian/norse/india/whatever gods so they are not gods!"
The game canon considers them gods and a part of the plot is how they are not actually that different for everyone else, it makes them shit tier gods in the grand scheme of all gods in all fiction, but they are still gods.
Not the Flamberge, Serpent Sword or Obisidian GOATsword/10.
Dude they're humanoid and as much as an animal as the typical devils you see in fiction. They have opposable thumbs dude.
Also tfw Manus is literally siginified by his giant hand because humans are defined by their different hands.
Vanilla DaS2 seems to be about the undead curse cycles repeating but the additions to SotFS made it so that it's about breaking the cycle. Somehow collecting 4 crowns makes one immune to the curse.
From what we know, DaS3 seems to be about the return dragons and arch trees, the age of ancients, the sun bleeding out, etc. If that's really the case, then it's already a reference to the actions of aldia and that one Cursed Undead that went with the alternate SotFS ending.

>everything you would need to know was established in 1
who are these old ones that I'm killing and why do I even need to kill them? Apparently the king is supposed to help me cure my undeath or something, but what the hell do these souls have to do with the king? I mean fuck you at least got backstory on the souls used to fill the lordvessal and who they were and stuff. And it helped you figure out where you would go to find them, "Oh the gravelord, I probably need to go through the catacombs with all the spooky skellys. kings of new londo, go to new londo. Witch of Izalith, probably near the daughters of chaos. Seath the scaleless, he was gwyn's confidant so is probably around anor londo, and bonfire lady there tells me he's in the duke's archives."
In DS2 all I've done is wonder around and go "oh I killed someone important that helps me in some way I guess?"
dont have it but already saw it, he says the game is easy and get rekt by vanguard. i didnt saved because i thought it was meh.
I still can't take someone who can't be arsed with even touching the game seriously on lore.
>who are these old ones
Beings with old souls.
>why do I even need to kill them?
To get their souls to get past shrine of winter.
>Apparently the king is supposed to help me cure my undeath or something
You can try to make it worse all you want, it just makes you look like that much more of a retard.
>but what the hell do these souls have to do with the king?
The king killed the previous 4 dudes who had those souls. Again you don't NEED the 4 great souls in fact you don't NEED a single great soul to get to the king, they just help you.
>what are these bells and why am I ringing them
>who am I awakening I'm already up what the fuck?
>I'm going to anor londo to cure my undeath or something?
>Now I'm off to fill the bowl with souls or something?
You are trying your hardest to make DS2 out to be worse and DS1 out to be better and thats why nobody cares about your opinion, you are quite literally ignoring the things that are flat out told to you for the sake of bitching about them.
>To get their souls to get past shrine of winter
Who even tells you that, did I miss something?
Also you mean I'm killing some of the most powerful beings to get past a gate that has a small pile of rubble blocking it?
God I wish I could have aggro'd her on the spot instead of waiting on the host.
What the Hell are you talking about sperg?
>Get my first blue invasion
>Guy uses a giant tree seed and hides
>It's the area full of ghost enemies you can't lock onto in NG+
What a faggot.
Did you just admit to the Dark Chasm being a reference to the best kings?
Well damn means its about time you stop using that one pasta about how there is no reference to them in DS2 then buddy.
How long ago was that? 2014?
Also it's a 4kings reference... baka...

Skip it and come back later if completion is that hard?
If you are not having trouble with the run up to freja then just stay at medium range, bait the beam attack and go beat on the other face
Also depending on your int/faith feel free to buff both of your cestuses/cesti/whatever, don't even need an upgraded catalyst
Pls submit proofs that DTLS has anything to do with Manus. Dark Chasm of the Old has a similar boss (Darklurker) to the original Kings Field Seath and also looks like one of the 4 kings in design.
I only recall Manus being referenced in regards to the 4 daughters he has.
Nice not in-game lore.
2nd refers to the daughters by the way.
4 kings is referenced in-game by Old Iron King by the way, Kaathe's equal is Smelter Demon. The city is submerged in the lava :)
That's my typical strategy against it with most weapons, just run out further than it's legs and it'll probably fire the laser. Just run under the legs to the opposite head as soon as it starts firing.
Why does everybody hide when you invade them as a fucking blue phantom?
>You're telling me Havel was locked up behind a flimsy wooden door
No, I would assume he's there of his own volition given that even if you open the door he still stays there.
And Havel is a minor character, not a major point in the games progression.
Is criticizing DS2 a meme now?
>Dark Souls babbies don't know what a quality build is
>Or what a quality game is
Also a literal king. They made Seath have his own Paledrake soul and Freja soul because DaS2 devs are retarded.
p.s. this post was ready in advance.
They are sitting at a bonfire trying to invade, getting to you would just mean a longer trip to get their souls back if you somehow win
There is quite literally 0 reason to look for an invading blue or to try and progress in general
>watch friend play
>about 250 SL
>20 VIG, 20 END, 50 ADP and 99 INT
>his MLGS does barely any damage
>has to cheese most enemies with spells from a distance
>complains that he's getting 2-shot by people in NG++
>tell him to take some levels out of INT and dump them into hp and endurance
>says he won't do that cause it's capped at 20 anyway
>I would assume he's there of his own volition given that even if you open the door he still stays there.
Keep at it anon I'm sure someone will care. But whatever you ran out of what could be at best be considered retarded and empty points born from ignorance a while ago and are just on to shitposting
So just get your last word in, I know it matters a lot to you
>he still dies
just remove the rock neme armor set from Ds3 fromshit, it only encourages shitters to play
In one of the rare instances I got to be a blue phantom, the person was in Shulva. Not hiding, not unreachable, and I destroyed him with my superior Claymore skills. I think they were farming Ascetics
Why would they run to you?
If you invade a sinner then that means the reason he is in the area is because he is trying to invade someone else, and you usually do that from a bonfire
Just go to the bonfire and fight them, that's the norm for invading and getting invaded as a blue. Ff they were scared of you and hiding they would just alt+f4 out of the game.
>Being a sinner means you spend all your time invading
Do you know how "sin" works? You accumulate it from killing NPCs, as well. So if you finish NG by clearing the NPCs for their gear before going to NG+, you are most likely a sinner and can be invaded by blues.
Yeah I don't really know what you're getting at, does someone mention him being locked away as in he was imprisoned or something? Cause I just assumed he was ordered to stay their maybe as punishment and eventually went hollow.
Even then that doesn't really excuse a major point in the game being covered in rubble, there are flaws in DaS that doesn't excuse their inclusion in DaSII.
It's kind of weird to me that you're so hell bent on assuming that I'm shitposting and really are acting smug about it so here's my last word I guess.
So what you're saying is;
Sinner creates a build for PVP so doesn't want to play the game normally.
Sinner tries to invade because he wants to PVP.
Sinner doesn't want to PVP when he gets invaded.
Is that what you're saying? Because it makes no sense.
>does someone mention him being locked away as in he was imprisoned or something?
Yes because that is literally what that means.
Holy shit I get why you are so upset about this, you actually flat out don't understand english so you got confused by all the "complicated" words in DS2!
i cant believe i still fall for this goddamn horse hack
does this confirm that the 4kings guy is REAL and not a bot
he's been shitposting in this general literally everyday for years
>Sinner creates a build for PVP so doesn't want to play the game normally.
The people with Sin are mostly twinks, and they have beaten most of the game already to get gear
People who bridgeduel don't eve get sin for it.
I'm sorry that you were wrong about how people behave in the game but it aint gonna change facts, if you invade as a blue expect to have to run to the bonfire and fight the dude there, that's what happens 99% of the time, nobody is going to come looking for you.
He idles in this thread but it's mostly either copy pasta he made for himself or script.
But most important part is that he actually posts and gets angry about 4 kings.
21:11 - [your dad]: i wonder
21:11 - [your dad]: who that person he hates is
21:11 - Segandrew: Me too
21:11 - [your dad]: cuz like
21:11 - [your dad]: if it's an artist
21:11 - [your dad]: who drawn 4 kings
21:11 - [your dad]: and he's still shit posting about it 2 years on
21:12 - [your dad]: how the fuck didnt i hear about this sooner
21:12 - Segandrew: because i thought [yer ma] was the most autistic human known to man
21:12 - Segandrew: I was wrong
Just because someone is behind a locked door doesn't mean that they're in a hurry to try and break out.
By "imprisoned" I mean taken there against their will and put up in chains, not just happening to be behind a locked door which isn't even locked if he chose to go up some stairs.
It's magic fog though, like it's clearly some glowy ass magic fog.
It's not glowy ass magic rubble.
Is it really cheeky? Unless someone makes reference to the fact that if only you could climb over some rocks you wouldn't have to go kill old ones then it's not really cheeky.
The whole argument was about why doesn't havel just break down the wooden door being bought up in response to why doesn't the bearer of the curse just climb over the rocks.
I mean I guess I'm wrong in the sense that yes he's behind a locked door? But he's not in any kind of prison and he could leave if he just took the stairs up.
>the obstacle is actually trivial but you can't get past it because videogames
Are you and >>127917549 the same person?
Because both of you seem to be having a really hard time understanding that words have meaning and you can be wrong about it.
There is no argument, you are griping over the rubble wall while you have no issues with anor londo literally being built on top of the abyss and someone being locked up in a place they could break out of or walk out of because cherry picking is call you can do after being blow the fuck out on everything else your retarded ass tried coming up with.
Yeah and get the warped sword asap for the special attack.
Next step is curved nil gs and smelter ugs.
Final step is fume ugs and smelter gh.
I have a lot of fun powerstancing Blue flames in pvp and pve. But it's incredibly squishy due to the stat spread.
Don't really have a win rate to boast about since i've died like 700 times since switching to it. Still, it's fun.
Look at the ground there
The buildings just hit a flat black nothingness, it's not even that they are far down, you can see the hills in the distance becoming flat and then boom, blackness everywhere.
>It's not glowy ass magic rubble.
It doesn't need to glow to be magic m8.
It's probably some arch tree material though;^)
If you need my input ill just butt in and say dark souls 2 somehow was made to be even more bare and convoluted than the other games. thats all. You didnt even get a good intro explaining the world and lore.
Is that actually the abyss or it just goes black because vidya gaems, I feel like if that was actually the abyss then someone would mention it since there seems to always be an NPC or two that mentions the presence of the abyss like in New Londo or Oolacile
>use my blue eye in forest with 20 nodes
>failed to invade
Keep trying, I'm getting consistent amounts of invasions at SL60.
Cheeky tends to imply endearing, it's not endearing when something is done straight faced. Something like >>127917524 would've been funny and at least make it a little self aware.
I don't know why you're saying I have no problem with stuff like anor londo or havel, whom I would assume just stays there because he's hollow and I have no idea what you're talking about with anor londo, unless you meant new londo in which case I thought the abyss moved in once the four kings started feeding on humanities and stuff. Oolacile being built on top of Manus' grave is kind of weird especially since there's a dungeon leading right to it.
I mean damn dude I don't know why you're bringing up all this shit from DaS1 when I say something bad about DaS2, yeah it's stupid that you can't open a door from one side that you clearly should be able to reach your hand through to open anyway which happens a lot in DaS, but I'm just saying stuff like the shrine of winter is really in your face considering it's a major progression point.
And my whole original thing I was talking about was that DaS2 doesn't do a really good job of explaining a lot, they spent a whole intro cutscene telling me about the curse of the undead that I already knew about rather than anything about the old ones or what they have to do with the king.
>Cheeky tends to imply endearing
No it doesn't, are you ever going to stop being wrong about word definitions.
Sorry really can't be bothered with reading the rest of whatever you wrote because for like the 5th time now you started off a post by flat out being wrong about what a word means.
>these fucking ghosts in shaded woods you can't lock onto
they had this fucking problem in DaS1 with the forest people not being able to be locked on and they patched it because a lot of people said it was fucking annoying, and then they pull the same shit in the sequel?
it's like they're aggressively trying not to learn from their past mistakes
adjective: cheeky; comparative adjective: cheekier; superlative adjective: cheekiest
impudent or irreverent, typically in an endearing or amusing way.
impudent or irreverent, typically in an amusing way.
Nice try buddy. Feel free to stop being wrong at any time, or refuse to learn what words mean just to spite some random anon on the internet who thinks you are a drooling retard anyway
The Dragon dropped a key. You can use it in the Depths to get to another area. There's another way you can take but you need to walk all the way back to Firelink or Darkroot Basin.
it's not like they're unkillable but it's just goddamn annoying to fight them
why does the dark soul's community do this especially, I swear every time I see someone complain that capra demon is a shit fight there's five retards going "LEL GIT GUD"
"Git Gud" is literally the best piece of advice anyone can give regarding these games. Look further into what the phrase means instead of getting angry at your own lack of skill, and then you will achieve nirvana.
>three man gank
>don't do anything cheap
>get my insides rubbed
>well what is it
Do they usually do this because they legitimately feel like they accomplished something or just to make me mad?
Because if it's the second, it's working.
People got tired of answering the exact same questions over and over again. So git gud was invented to stem the tide of new people trying to take the easy way out. Now git gud or die trying
It's okay anon you'll come around eventually or not because you are a drooling retard, but we can hope
Now then I'm off to bed you keep living in your lala land where locked up mean that someone is allowed to leave and the bricks are not cheeky, I'm sure the rest of the known universe will bend to your autism.
I like them as an enemy, at least in the foggy area where they're entirely skippable.
Then they moved some to the ruins and later woods making them boring and generic. Really aren't hard to kill though, learning to play unlocked will be the best thing you ever do in Souls games
Disregard the guys invalidating your complaints, those enemies really are bullshit and highlight DaS2's design problems.
Don't disregard their advice though, they're completely right; get good and the problems will go away.
Up to the weapons, the way the letters work is 100% bullshit and just something you might have to wiki to find out but there is nothing in the game that makes STR scaling inherently better than DEX scaling.
Have you been to Heide's yet? There's something there which will help you.
Also your health won't drop below 50% from hollowing unless you've accumulated a lot of sin by attacking NPCs and other players.
You can lay down a summon sign. You'll get your humanity back once you fulfill your duty.
What's bad about dying is that online matchmaking is done via soul memory (total souls acquired). If you lose too much souls, you'll be lower level than invaders in your range.
Try Drangleic castle or Grand Cathedral. Players are usually wrapping up NG at that range.
Beware that some grand cathedral summons are for loyce soul farming. Host will jump ship when ivory king spawns.
OK so lets assume I'm a turboshitter and I have 3m+ soul memory heading into NG+. Is it safe to assume that I'm unlikely to see many invasions? Am I also unlikely to see any jolly cooperation?
>go back to DaS after a long break from souls games
>killing overleveled chuggers in the forest with a 60lvl character with ravelord sword and sub-15 poise
>coop+invasions in Anor Londo
>'Wow the game is still alive, I wonder how /dsg/ is nowadays'
You want to see in DS3.
He's so fucking new that even after attacking me, he still thinks I'm an NPC.
>game gets harder if you're doing bad
I know 'git gud' 'casual' and I don't want crutches for being shit.
But I don't want my legs broken for being bad at it either, discouraging to continue if I feel like the game is harder for me than others.
Finally switched from DaS 1 to SotFS, making a multiplayer character right now. Do I just get to Straid ASAP and start dicking around from there? What are the most convenient Branches to pick up?
Gower's Ring of Protection, we all know what faggotry will go on forever in any souls
Kris of some kind (like the DeS one maybe)
Leo ring, preferably with a minor graphical effect (lightning particle on weapon when using thrust attacks?)
Gravelord Greatsword Dance, buffed for PvP
>read about how there's no reason not to magic infuse the MLGS in Ds2
>scaling stays at an S and the damage drops by about 50
I only hovered over it at the blacksmith, didn't actually test it out. Am I missing something here?
>die to the red phantom outside purgatory because derp
>no big deal right?
>on my way back, all 4 red phantom purgatory guardians aggro the instant I walk around the corner
>run back to bonfire to reset
>it keep happening
>literally run back and forth for 30 minutes because it wont stop
>say fuckit and try to fight them
>die because even the niggers with whips have hyperarmour
>400k+ souls gone
>suddenly they all start aggroing individually again
That's not really being vague at all. The Firekeeper in the opening cutscene says you won't know why because that's how the curse works in Dark Souls 2. You lose your reason and become drawn to Drangleic. This is why cutscene shows you how the character's eyes are going blank. The Emerald Herald asks you if you're the next monarch or just a pawn of fate because it really could be either. You're just a simple undead, but if you prove yourself capable, then you'll become the next lord or you just might end up like Crestfallen Saulden. The ending is no more vague than Dark Souls 1. You either take up the Throne of Want and continue the cycle or you leave and try to find your own way to break the curse.
Replaying through DS for the first time since I originally played on the 360 back when it first came out.
After playing BB so much I forgot how much slower this game was, but it's a lot easier than I remember, didn't have nearly as much trouble with the bell tower gargoyles as I did the first time I played.
was going for a vibe of a warrior from Izalith
how do I look /dsg/ (ignoring the fact that Izalith would be long gone, and also ignoring drangcrutch shield)
>tfw i beat Ornstein and Smug on my first try
I-I thought they were supposed to be super hard
Post examples of helms you want to see in Ds3 family
>yfw Cinder Havel in DS3
>watchdog doesn't detect him
>Getting toxic cancer in Blighttown
>Try to jump over and kill one of those dart spitting fuckers
>End up short and landing in a pit with fire dogs
>Manage to kill the dogs, dart thrower and grab the firekeeper soul without dying
Related note I always assumed Blighttown was in like a cave or some shit, I never assumed it was in like a valley or some shit
>beat the double pursuer fight first try last character solo
>15 attempts and still can't beat them this character
I am not sure what i am doing wrong. Maybe i need to git gud again. I know the arbiter spirits interrupting my figh isnt helping, but it still hurts my soul.
You know how the underside of overpasses slowly accumulate a covering of garbage and sleeping hobos? That's what Blighttown is. It's a big pile of shit accumulating around the city's foundations.
I think you beed to be a bit more chaotic looking. When I made one in that theme for DaS1, I had an Egghead, Ornholio's armor, Thorn Gloves, and Havel's Legs while I used the Demon's Greathammer. Items that looked rugged and heavy, like Izalith itself. My character himself was Indian-toned with big high round eyebrows, small eyes, and the default purple hair because I thought its description of "belonging to a nearly extinct race" fit Izalithians. He looks like someone who lived in lava-flooded Angkor Wat. Yours doesn't give me that feeling, but maybe it's too dark to see all those details.
I remember this guy stream sniped me once, and gave me Parasite Head
And I kept it because it looked nice with my armor.
>royal rat authority
time to fucking kill myself. Jesus christ it's like they looked at how shitty capra demon was and thought "how can we make this even worse?"
also that's clearly a fucking dog, not a rat. Did they literally just retexture sif?
anyone wants to start a fresh co op run?
free build, region: LAN EVENT (USA)
I can see the comparison to capra, but imo its way better designed. Capra was in a tiny little cramped area with trees and shit blocking your view, and RRA is in an open space so you can see where the bullshit dogs are. To balance that out, they added more small dogs and made them slowly apply toxic.
Most of the fight is just killing the toxin rats. After that, you can just stay under the big guy like Sif and tank his charge attacks with a shield.
If you're not using a shield, then I dunno what the fuck you're supposed to do.
Back in the day I spent plenty of time testing against NPC red phantom invaders and red phantom NG+ enemies and the only conclusion I can come to is... they cheat.
That's honestly the best I can come up with. I can sit and test against the same enemy and I can stun lock them 99 times perfectly then the 100th time all their attacks gain hyper armour and become impossible to counter hit regardless if you hit them at the start, middle or end of an animation.
From what i have heard, dsp is actually decent at fighting games, but he can't play them online. But that is just hearsay. I don't watch him beyond the snippets that get posted here.
like, I was thinking more along the lines of the Witch of Izalith's daughters, like Quelaana herself
so I was kind of aiming for a Gold-Hemmed Black set feel, except more suited for combat
that being said, thanks for the tips though, I might keep that in mind for DaS1 if I want to do a corrupted Izalithian playthrough
You're either in an area that doesn't allow online play or you forgot to remove the burned effigy effect that applies whenever you kill a boss. It lasts 30 minutes, but you can disable it early at a bonfire for that area.
can anyone tell me what happened to Vaati's patreon? i remember he was making something like 6k and now he's at like 3.6. i havent followed the DS community in a good while but did the plagiarism accusations get to this fanbase?
Oh, why on earth is that a thing? Also how do I disable it, I'm sitting right outside the bonfire for RRA which is where I would assume the option is but I don't see it.
Yeah, I'm getting messages and bloodstains and the like.
>caring about vaati
He is nothing but a shill now.
The plagerism accusations are hilarious because most of the lore guys did the same fucking thing, the only thing they are guilty of is lurking.
i'v been getting mixed answers wherever I go, so hopefully someone here can clear this up.
Is there any way to increase attack speed for melee weapons in dark souls 2?
On the deprived class I have near the start of the game feel like my heide sword is swinging way to slow. Even though i have all the requirements to wield it
But when my friend is using his swordsman character in the early game, it looks like he's swinging it way faster than me.
Is there a stat or something that increases the speed of attacks?
Nope, it depends entirely on the weapon. Weapons that weigh less will swing faster and use up less stamina. It also depends on the moveset, some moves are just faster than others.
>Blue invading still
>Finally get another one, same place as last time
>This time it spawns me by the bridge so the guy is actually progressing
>See him, he sees me
>He runs all the way back to the start and summons lucatiel
>Lets her run up and fight me
>She has like 10,000HP
How does Lucatiel EVER die during boss fights? I almost broke my fucking weapon before she was at half HP then I got bored and jumped off the bridge.
Don't ever give phantoms a fair fight. They straight up cheat with unreal stats and infinite poise.
push her into the water
push armorer dennis and the fencer cunt into the lava
spam poison knives
>Not liking the long katana with greatsword moveset, self-harm buff and fancy two hand strong attack
It was my favorite covenant in Dark Souls, too bad I get one invade every few hours in DS2.
You what mate? I'm done fine.
Tell your chucklefuck blue brothers that. The last 3 that crossed my path were dumb as fuck. The first kept trying to parry a 2h halberd r1 attack. The second tried a dark rapier r1 spam, and the third tried lightning spear spam. 2 of those had max blue auras. All of them are dead.
>Invade a guy that invaded me earlier
>It puts me here
>FUCK IT TIME TO COSPLAY
>I don't have the sword though
He wouldn't leave the bonfire, so I had to get dressed and go to him.
How boring. Grandlance shitters suck. This is NG+ 6m+ soul memory get good already.
Show me somebody who uses the Mom mask and ISN'T a hornet fisher shitter. It's fucking hilarious how every one of these cunts not only are so bad that they need to pad their HP, but they can't fight somebody head on and actually use strategy to their gameplay.
I didn't have the sword it would have been easy to spot me. I'm a dex build so I don't hold onto greatswords.
Eh, just dodge to the side when they backstep, they fucking always follow up the backstep with that dumb fucking multi-hit charge attack it has.
I need to go get the ring of blades +2, I forgot to do it before I went to NG+. I'm wondering if I should swap out the stone ring for the bleed ring since nobody uses heavy armor at this soul memory and this sword has decent poise damage.
>And of course switch to lacerating arrows and knife spam too
>I never actually use my bow in PVP though unless they're being faggots
Bradley attempted to charge a spirit bomb. I tried to give him my energy, but it was too late.
Dude, play without lock-on. Lock-on is inferior to playing without it in the original Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls) because movement is restricted to 4 directions while locked on. They fixed this in Dark Souls II, but managed to break PvP in every other aspect (iframes being tied to a stat, soul memory).
Being a spellsword is so damn fun in DS2, I hope at least keep and hopefully even widen the variety of spells in DS3.
>Fucking people up with Heavy Homing Soul Arrow and Crystal Soul Spear mixups
>Surprising people with Soul Vortexes
>Nobody knows what I'm going to follow up my homing masses with
>I can backhop through some rolling R1s after firing a projectile and follow up with my own
It's never boring.
Easiest way to defeat darklurker?
Beat him on my str character, need fast effective build to switch out for my character that uses dark everything
pick two armor sets, two weapons, and two shields from each game
they're now guaranteed to appear at some point in ds3 relative to where they're found in the other games, as well as retaining their original movesets, damage, and any special effects, like lifehunt or soul drain
Why does everything in DaSII do stupid low damage to each other? The royal rat authority does literally 6 damage to the little rats, which at first I thought might've been something like, okay they're both rats, maybe they do less damage.
And then I try to fight the dragon on Heide's tower and everything can run through his flamebreath taking barely any damage and his footstomps do 20 damage, why even bother letting enemies take damage from each other if it's going to be so pitifully low.
>learn to not be chain stabbed and lag stabbed
wiki says he's weakest to lightning but pyro is fastest?
I was thinking getting an innate lightning weapon, and infusing it with lightning. Is this good on damage/time investment or is straight pyro more efficient?
>Being a spellsword is so damn fun in DS2
It's the only way the game's any fun. I'm pretty sure the devs just balanced the game around that.
Things like repair are useful, ranged attacks are obviously nice to use offhand and keeping your distance can be another substitute for the useless shields (besides more precise dodging) and the only way you'll be dealing serious damage would be with a buffed weapon.
I focus on melee with Dark Weapon but have Dark Orb to keep sorcerers in check from casting any time.
>he actually thinks those can't be countered with relative ease
Flame Swathe will absolutely destroy Darklurker. If you manage to get it to connect while he's in the middle of splitting you'll hit both bodies at the same time, dealing double damage.
