How much do you guys play lately? I can deal with like an hour or two then I just go do other shit if I'm doing Robigo
1st for Players fixing Frontier's shit edition.
And yes, lel reddit, I know.
I'm in 17 Draconis atm and I'm getting 2-4 donation missions each reload? Although I am getting 'bring us stuff' donation missions as well as 'give us money' donations now, don't remember seeing the 'bring us stuff' ones last time I was here a couple of weeks ago.
>I'm not an admin here neither do I have 4chan pass
In case you're not baiting you don't need either, just go to the front of /vg/, select "submit new thread", copy paste the OP, make any necessary adjustments, put the subject and picture in and then post it in the previous thread.
I hope you get better at using your new computer dad!
>fighting ai in eagle
>easily outturning me when he bothers
>frame shift charge detected
>stops maneuvoring and goes straight
why is the ai so retarded? Also why is the Eagle so turny?
spent a few hours yesterday on a trip to HIP 63835, was mildly interesting
I wouldn't even attempt a conda in an eagle, i've dropped a Vulture before but that might have just been luck of bad AI. I fly a Vulture now and melt eagles in like 8 seconds.
I just completed Rear Admiral status at 17 Draconis. Sometimes you'll get 1, other times you'll get 4. It depends on how much the RNG decides to fuck you.
In other news /edg/, should I go back to smuggling at Robigo or is there some trading that's less annoying that makes the same amount
I don't remember how long it took to get to Lt Commander, maybe two days. Getting from Lt Commander to Rear Admiral took two days. Too many hours and about 6 million credits.
The system is being set up still, maybe?
Fucking loads. I hate to say it but I'm back into it, and just did about 2 days of grinding to get my Conda. Horizons is super shit atm but frankly I forgot that I'd preordered it so its good for something I didn't know I had.
>faction that lets you literally buy your way to the top military rank
>allows communist factions to align with them
I don't get it.
Shouldn't Alliance and their purpose of helping out the small guy be a better cut of the bread of commies?
Wot about dis one? Doz tha skull make et moar killy?
Whats a good cheap PvE weapon setup for an Anaconda, just got my snek
>openly admitting you are retarded enough to somehow run out of fuel
>people still call le reddit rat men for fuel
>dudes in /edg/ who would do it >for free
desu im bored enough to jump 50kly just to see an actual fucking person instead of another god damn NPC
This was in the DDF and Frontier are almost certainly still planning this, It just won't coming till at least season 3 because ti will rely on the character creator to procedurally generated faces.
Just as esy as getting FUEL DADS to help you!
CALL 101-69-420-DAD NOW!
Yeah or I could lug cargo over like 20 jumps to trade with them
For a game that's supposed to support all playstyles bounty hunting sure seems to be the only reliable way to make friends
Btw innit this whole fuel dad thing a metaphor for kiddie rape? Old men putting objects into your youthful body, pumping you full of hot liquid?
FUEL DADS = BIGGEST UK PEDO RING CONFIRMED
>scoop up shit in space with ship
>scoop up shit on planet with SRV
If you wanted to make it clear it was your ASP you should have started with "My ASP"
The issue is more with your wording than their comprehension
I took it to mean you were in another ship watching this happen
Tell you what, you faggots go ahead and shitpost about semantics until you get bored while I sit here and masterbate while thinking about Denton Patreus slowly shaving his head.
Guys if turn off standard life support and run on emergency one all the time will the heat signature be smaller ?
note to self: don't attack a wing of two clippers and one Anaconda
>hull integrity compromised
>hull integrity critical
>frienship dirve charging
On a related note, is there like any sort of presets you can make for certain systems being powered on/off? Like would this Anon have to open up his modules, scroll through and click off the right ones every time he wants to enter is extra stealthy mode or w/e? The closest to this I've found was just setting the priority of modules how you want, and having your power plant small enough that it doesn't cover 100% of your power costs (with hardpoints deployed). Seems like being able to hit a hotkey to manage your power distribution to presets you've made would be really useful for if you want to models quickly turned on/off a certain way without playing "Menus: Dangerous".
Although I'm a salefag so I still don't know much.
Hah, last group of Aisling Duval players I found wouldn't let me enter a high tech station because I was pledged to Hudson. I would've killed them but I couldn't be arsed to fight 4 feddie corvettes
I always panic because I'm deathly afraid of white dwarfs, even though there's no reason for it. Actually, something about a giant ball of fiery fuck just popping up in front of me is always an experience. I love space holy fuck.
Why won't the clouds fuck off, I want to look at space through my telescope ;-;
You don't need it. They just rehash the same short info blurbs about what's coming during horizons season without any new details. Exacly like they did a week earlier.
no pls ;-;
Space is scary as shit. Pure neutrons pulled together to make a minuscule ball of fuck off, spinning super dense radiation spitting pulsars, giant blobs of gases, light bending rape-holes.
I want to go into space so bad.
I checked every star on a plotted route just to be ready for one. I thought the star that you jump to was the first one listed, and I nearly shat myself when a red giant I thought I jumped to was a fucking white dwarf.
Imagine if neutron stars had realistic properties in-game, you'd basically see nothing but blinding light as you're slowly torn to pieces by gravitational tidal forces while radiation and heat boils off your face. Since it's not a black hole, your human body will probably impact with enough kinetic energy to sterilize the entire earth, after which it will be reduced to atomic soup.
>THATS THE SHIP I'M LOOKING FOR, THE ONE WITH THE BIG HAUL
Is it me or is the Feddy Gunship a lot more agile than its 2/10 rating would suggest?
I have 300 hours in this game and I've never seen a single capital ship.
Also did the Anaconda get nerfed? I got back into the game and refitted it for combat and something about it seems off. It's shields pop way faster than I remember, even with a ton of shield boosters.
The statistics mean jack shit. The Anaconda and Corvette are 2/10 and they are way more agile than Python with its 6/10. Frontier outright refuses to hand out actual, accurate ship stats (and weapon stats, for that matter) so we wouldn't make meta builds or min/max or whatever the fuck their weak excuse is when everyone just knows what weapons are worth using and what is objectively shit.
If you want to see capital ships head to super major systems (e.g. earth) or go to high intensity conflict zones in full blown war systems. You can also get them from distress beacons but its pretty rare
I wouldn't put it past them. I had a break before the Horizons patch and instantly bought the Corvette and the shields seem weaker than my Condas despite them supposedly being better?
Frontier wants to punish everyone who flies anything past the >ASP.
Imagine if they made a special death sequence for black holes (and neutron stars too) where you fly in, your ship starts burning and getting ripped to pieces. You get drawn and having the FOV widen because of the speed and then being atomised when flying into the event horizon. Would be a cool death.
>That witch space ripple
>That protruding space cock coming out of it
muh spooped out erection
Was kind of boring to watch though, it didn't have massive fucking guns, just a lot of tiny little lasers for a laser light show.
FDev needs to make huge class lasers/plasma beams or some shit. With a ship that big you need sky-tearing hyperweapons.
They need to make these things that much more dangerous. Like, jumping into a system with an undiscovered black hole takes you to that black hole, where you have to immediately find the vector to escape and get to a safe distance. The hole needs extensive scanning to figure out where the event horizon is, etc. And the horizon varies extensively from hole to hole.
you mean like the large lasers, cannons and missiles shown in the capital battle video?
Don't really care what they would 'realistically' look like, I'd like them to look nicer than what they look now. They are pretty bland looking.
Don't, they'll just nerf the bigger ships more.
I imagine a pitch black object that warps light around it. We do have a vague idea of what they look like considering telescopes exist and we have enough scientific understanding to speculate on what it would look like
Iirc Interstellar is pretty close to how black holes should look, I think they prettied them up just a little bit.
CGI Trailers don't really count as lies. Every game does it and they're prefaced with not actual game footage. Everyone knows cgi trailers are total bullshit that just give you the idea of the game.
its fairly tame for a cgi trailer tbqh, just look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0dAP8B_sLM and then compare it to actual PS2 gameplay.
Shit, i'm getting ptsd flashbacks about the annoying choral epic battlemusic that always accompanies it. Fuck that.
interstellar is a black hole with an accretion disk, for a disk-less hole just imagine that but with stars instead of a white hot ring, space engine has a pretty good representation
black holes don't exist silly
I'll try hopping into a CZ later to get video. They basically use a bunch of regular lasers that end up looking like a spirograph drawing.
The lie is that the capital ships would have their own special weapons, but they don't. It'd be like EA putting a Galaxy class in the SW:BF trailer.
Well, they shit out a jet of light when they're cannibalizing another star. That would be a nice thing to see first. Maybe make the jet fuck it up a bit more. An inactive black hole would only distort the light around it, and as you get closer, you'd see a bunch of photons in the photonsphere.
The best telescope in this solar system can't see them, though. The best you can get is seeing the direct jet of radiation from an active black hole.
I forgot that black holes with spin make accretion disks. Space is so cool.
they don't make anything, they're not real. it's a mathematical oddity with no basis in fact, fun to think about for sci fi but don't be deluded by pop sci media into thinking they're real
he's right though. we have no proof for black holes, only theories upon theories. all we really know about the universe comes from our solar system and screenshots from million year old photons
>Implying you don't want your atoms bound up so hard they won't be released until the heat death of the universe
Danger In exploration would be great. I've seen videos of pilots crashing their ships on high gravity worlds It'd be nice if surface temps of planets, or getting too close to hotter types of stars had some risk. And that's not even getting into radiation and big gravity wells.
>surface temp 600+ C
>no effect on heat
So, who is the cucklefuck responsible for this?
>ships exposed to millions of degrees centigrade
>dive at suns and scoop emissions for fuel anyways
they've figured out ways around it in the canon
It's actually rather funny how a single post triggered them so much that it it grown to a 30+ page thread.
From a I'M SO OLD I PLAYED PONG circklejerks to posting pictures of their rigs. Insecurity is off the charts.
Idk it is pretty fast though.
I got it to ~26,000 in normal space though.
Runs a little hot.
I was denied landing pad access for a couple minutes while smuggling one time in Open, because of players/retarded AI sitting on the landing pads. Never happened to me in Solo though, so that's where I go if I need to do smuggling runs.
Because it offends them on a very fundamental level. They envy youth.
They understand that they are old, less energetic, attractive and productive, that they are closer to grave with every passing day.
Look at that Asp Explorer dad. He thinks the OP is retarded, yet he just can't shut the fuck up. Every fourth post is his, every post he makes is some affirmative pat on the back for himself and other gramps.
He's over 60 btw. Welcome to VISION.
>stock up on a shitload of promotion missions
>fill your hold with plans
>turn in shitloads of promotion missions every time I decide it's time to promote
>blast through 50% of the next rank instantly for no money
Takes a while to get all of the missions, but they're worth more rep than just donating. And going out to hunt massive amounts of plans gives me a much needed change of pace.
Does anybody else think it has been harder to stack up decent missions from Rodrigo in the past days?
I used to be able to find many Shadow deliveries just by switching from open to solo but now i have to try twice every time before something new comes up.
>Get to Rodrigo
>Unavailable Shadow Delivery paying 1 mill
>Trading rank required: Merchant
>Get Merchant rank
>Unavailable Shadow Delivery paying 2 mill
>Trading rank required: Broker
>Get Broker rank
>Unavailable Shadow Delivery paying 5 mill
OH FUCK YOU BRABEN
Mission are not refreshing when doing the solo/open dance.
IT ENDS HERE
Usually about 5 a time. It actually gets me about 20% for those 5. I just continue doing donations while waiting for them to spawn, because the rep rolls over to the next rank anyway. Helps speed up the grind a bit.
Help I'm fairly new to the combat in this game
Just got a Viper Mk4 and now have no idea how to equip it to fight. I'm thinking 2 med pulse lasers and maybe a pair of multi cannons or a torpedo and a CIWS weapon
Nope. Just don't turn them in for a promotion, and you can stack the promotion missions like a motherfucker.
There were some people posting about abusing that before 1.5/Horizons came out by stacking combat promotion missions from Arexe to Orrere, and smuggling promotion missions in Maya. Supposedly went a lot faster, but the trade ones require a Python, so I never bothered checking it out, because I don't have one.
For Empire combat it was Ciemess to Vequess, and for smuggling Gould Port, Tamar to Youll City.
If anyone wants to check these out, feel free to, and report back.
How does ageing even work in Elite Dangerous? Winters is older than ALD yet looks younger while Edmund is only 10 years younger than Torval the spider queen and looks 80 or 90 years younger than her.
I get progenitor cells can anti-age you because of all the blendered babies but why are the discrepancies so massive, by the description they should render everyone who takes them permanently 21.
I've been doing Robigo since I started playing pretty much. I have a ASP a-rated, about 90 million credits, and I'm looking to move on to something else.
I wanted to try bounty hunting, but I'm lost on how to do a lot of it. I have no idea what ship to use for it. I've read you can stay at certain spots and just bounty hunt NPCs all day and come back with a shit load of credits. Especially if you are a high rank in a power play faction, which I also have no idea what it means, or which one to pick.
Is there a guide somewhere that I can read to learn how to use power play to get a lot of money while bounty hunting?
Because she's so inspiring, stop slavery stupid! haha what do you mean she has links with Emperors Dawn and helped kill the emperor to try and become emperor herself? My anime space princess would never do that.
I come from /wfg/ with a question, because I am bored of the absolutely mad endless grinding and I crave scifi games : is this game worth buying yet? I heard there wasn't enough content to justify it a year ago, what about now?
Its a fun little space sim, just don't expect much beyond pretty vistas, imagination™ and repeating similar tasks.
Theres some pretty impressive moments in it if you don't just grind the most efficient cargo runs.
I find just hopping from system to system with vague goals and picking up missions along the way the most fun way to play. Once you turn it into a virtual job with Robigo runs or whatever you kill the game for yourself.
I WON'T STOP GRINDING UNTIL THAT A-FITTED ANACONDA WILL BE IN MY HAND, THEN I WILL MAKE OTHERS SUFFER LIKE I DID!
a-fitted conda is fine. don't talk shit.
Smuggling truly illustrates the bugs that this game has
>Get interdicted in a star
>Get interdicted from a cop that is in front of you
>Get interdicted THROUGH a star
>Get interdicted before entering a system
The list goes on.
...yeah, this isn't fun when you've got 29 tons of slaves in your hold.
I have nightmares that it might happen to me, even multiple times in a row, but it never happens.
Maybe im just lucky but rarely those stations that i pick up on shadow deliveries exceed 2000 ls of distance.
>not checking each mission carefully both ingame and on eddb before accepting them
It's your own fault, really. In the days before smuggling spawned a fuckhuge amount of NPCs going after your cargo, I'd accept only the highest paying missions and put on a podcast if they were long in-system hauls, but now I am very selective in what I pick. Fuck spending ~20m in a system just because you're being interdicted every 10ls.
>some of them have this trick where they blow out your shields and half your hull with a single fuel limpet
>limpet drone filled with an entire ton of volatile hydrogen fuel attached directly to your hull
Oh gee I wonder how they're doing that.
I just got interdicted immediately after jumping into a system. The escape vector switched between just barely missing the star and being right in the middle of it. Not exactly the best idea to keep trying to follow it, so I killed the process. What the fuck?
I got a refuel from a guy in a fully kitted FAS.
At first I thought I'd been rused but then he launched a limpet and I started receiving fuel.
Said he always shows up ready to rumble.
Just A-fit a Vulture. My Anaconda is basically A-fit except for the powerplant and it's a terrible piece of shit. I don't know what they did to it, but it sucks shit as a combat vessel. It does pretty well in trading, so I guess it's not all bad.
May as well save for a Fed Corvette but I've heard those are just as bad too.
>I was considering putting on my gimmic SR builds an A-rated one for 25 minutes of oxygen and turning it of while fighting.
This is how many PVP builds like plasma vultures and pre-1.5 FDLs normally operated.
Yes. This is something that happens consistently after avoiding confrontations with the police. I'll head to the next system and either a second before leaving or the moment I enter the system I'm interdicted and have to shoot the cop to avoid scanning.
My escape vectors constantly go into stars. Sometimes it's so bad that the AI isn't even able to follow me.
Buy a combat ship. With your budget you can a rate a vulture or get an fdl. Go to a hazardous resource extraction zone and scan pirates with a warrant scanner. Earn at least 1 mil an hour shooting condas.
For me, it's when the novelty of buying and outfitting new ships was outweighed by the grind for them.
I'm about 90 hours in and I have a FAS that I can sell for 30 million, but I really can't be bovvered to grind the extra 25 million needed for a barebones FDL or Python.
I'm a trader at heart. I played the fuck out of a lot trading games like Bounty Bay and I enjoyed EVE quite a bit with trading and working the spreadsheets to build myself a small fortune through manipulating some markets and running the major trade lanes.
In this game, it was probably... about 50 or so hours in, I really can't remember. I just had bought a Type-7 and I remember thinking... I have been doing nothing but ferrying goods to and fro whatever systems the 3rd party tools told me to. No matter what I do, what I trade and to whom, and no matter what missions I take, nothing ever changes except my bank balance and I have barely run into a single soul while in my travels, though occasionally I would run into people that would interdict me. Not for my cargo of course. Just to kill me because they had seen THE VISION.
I have around 400,000,000 in trading profit and I just broke 300 hours in recently. I really just trade in an Anaconda while listening to stuff, but I'm far past the honeymoon phase as this game isn't really enjoyable in the way it should be. It's relaxing I guess but it doesn't challenge me in the way that building your own trading empire should, with aggressively elbowing people out of a market, or establishing your own mining operation in a planet or manufacturing in a station and cornering a market in a particular system.
It pains me to play this while mindlessly shoveling useless commodities around while seeing how much potential this has. The best part is that I think the very little market simulation that this game has is broken for some reason, atleast where I am. I will buy 500 imperial slaves, and when I come back to the station to restart my loop, the supply will be right back to where it was and caps out. I can't even run this station out of supply, nor for the berylium I buy in the other station. I can run this trade route forever until Ftroop shuts the server down the servers in a year or two.
Please help me.
Judging from the minuscule amount of shit I get from NPCs as is, I'm gonna assume now. Only thing I can say is try it out. Maybe try pirating players.
This, I always have a hell of a time getting their shields down but once I do their ass is grass. Definitely grab some extra shield cells and the shield boosters (might wanna use a heatsink too if you use the boosters)
The thing I wonder is what kind of mechanic would be fun and still make any kind of sense. How would you make it robust enough to keep wanting to do it after the first 10 minutes?
I personally have no fucking idea, and I know its the whole "pointing at the problem with no solution thing" but fuck me, if they're going to make it so that I have to sit there for 20 highly boring minutes so I can click one button to get some credits there's a problem.
Not that guy, but I always thought some sort of "highway" system would be better. Designated paths for trading ships to travel on (not that you'd be "on rails" or anything) that only trade-certified ships could access through legal means. Navigating along the highways and dealing with traffic would present a challenge.
Maybe certain illegal groups would forge certifications for a price so that combat ships (mostly pirates), illegal traders, or just lower-class traders looking for higher-paying jobs could access the highway, which of course would be more risky.
Truck Stop-like outposts would be neat for refueling, light trading, socializing, and checking in on the news.
Some systems would have less laws and regulations, leading to dangerous highways that included pirates, corrupt governments or maybe environmental dangers.
how about clone jumping like in EVE online?
>can't take ship with you
for trading though... autopilot computer and a built-in video player in every transport ship
I don't think there's a way to solve travel since these kinds of games either cut out dead space between you and a destination or allow you to defer to an autopilot.
Can you imagine the original, sub luminal, travel that was pitched before the travel polls shot it down entirely? Even with FTL travel they were planning on an hour to travel 49AU.
This sounds suspiciously like X: Rebirth's travel system.
That's along the lines of what I was thinking. Some way to selectively be affected by gravity, maybe?
My half-baked idea is to have space weather be important. The FSD (or whatever, this could apply another space sim) could be re-imagined to go faster by skiing on electric currents produced by stars. I'm aware it's loopy though, not just from a physics point of view.
I want to upgrade my DBS and vulture into something that kinda plays like a fast fighter, but offers more firepower. So far I have been looking at FAS and Clipper, here are some points I found out by lurking various forums:
++ hardpoint placement for fixed weapons
+ fitting cost
++ shield recharge
- hardpoint placement
- fitting cost
main questions now are: is there ultimatively a difference in damage between both ships, and what ship offers better jumprange?
I basically either do hazres or expansion/undermining, missions, trading or exploration are not on my priority list, so combat only and the occasional re-allocating to combat zones
Shove as much armor as you can into an FAS, A rank the power, distrib, thrusters and FSD, load up the hardpoints with 1 large Beam on top and 3 frags (1L2M) on bottom.Ram your long federal snout into defenseless enemy ships and blowing your hot sticky frag load all over their hull. enjoy the fact frags now have a 90 ammo count so you can actually last a bit in a RES
>Shove as much armor as you can into an FAS
sure, I have noticed that people never use a AFMU for hulltanking. is it worth the hassle?
>Ram your long federal snout into defenseless enemy ships and blowing your hot sticky frag load all over their hull
sounds fun, didn't hudson offer those named space shotguns?
the FAS fully kitted has nearly 2500 armor. you dont need an AFMU when you can literally kill a conda by doing nothing but ramming it and walk away with 40%+ hull
brave niggers can even swap the biweave (which is there just for the sake of having -some- shields) for an extra 4D hull reinforcement and have 2800 armor exactly
What a shame, 400 billion star systems and nothing to do but grind credits hoping they'll be used for something someday.
Once you get to the conda and its cousins you really don't have much to do, but grind more.
>you dont need an AFMU when you can literally kill a conda by doing nothing but ramming it and walk away with 40%+ hull
maybe I just don't understand AFMU, I never used it. can it even repair % hull damage?
but yeah, I saw similar fitting to yours
also lots of ship like FAS with normal shields and SCB, but that was from the official forums. probably the worst place for advice so far, every time someone recommends me a cobra
>The forums are commonly referred to as the Gulag here for a reason
eh, in it's current state, its absolutely boring, there is no real discussion, just various people posting about themselves but never really discussing why this or that, every just goes
>hurr there is no best do what you want, I fly a cobra and it's the best
>for some reason they can't be used to fix hull damage
oh fucking lel, so many posts in so little time
this triggers me tho
>I play all the LATEST games that are VERY CHALLENGING so I am a gamer :^)
nigga go play IL2 sturmovik or Operation Flashpoint or anything combat simulation and then come back you casual cockgobbling piece of shit
Combat sim master race reporting in, Sir! Nothing better than cruising in DCS or walking sim'ing in Arma
Too bad we don't have that kind of complexity in Elite... It would be nice if the game was a tiny bit more challenging
>Did tournaments of Il2 sturmovik 1946 with more kills that hartmann
>more ground targets destroyed than rudel
>fuckton of hours in the originial il2 1946 and cliffs of dover
>pirated since i play the game
>the code redditors didnt accepted me because im not elite in the combat ranks.
How about a turreted telescope unit with very low weight? You could put in on your hardpoint so you actually have a use for them on an exploration ship (likewise, put discovery scanner and surface scanner on turreted hardpoints) The telescope would be for zooming your camera extremely far and shit (so you can look at neutron stars) The [empty] just triggers the fuck out of me in outfitting
Fug, still not allied with the Feds yet..
Here's hoping it was 50%, then 75%, now it's gotta be 100%. Eghh
>see <system> Defence Force
>has influence like any other political faction
What the fuck, that's retarded. Armed forces aren't a fucking political bloc, but a mere service that serves to protect the state that houses the political blocs
>Anaconda: Mass 400T
>Sensors 8B: Mass 256T
>Fer-de-lance: Mass 250T
FUCK, scratch that. 80% is the magic number!
>crash a ship worth money
>Elite's insurance hands out a little less money
>you only need to pay the difference
>HURR DURR NO LOGIC MUH VISION
It's almost like you deeply hate your brain
>Signed up for nothing
>Somebody tells me they'll pay for 95% of my shit
>Oh whats that, you don't even have enough? Well you can pay me 10% of your future income until you pay it off at 0% interest.
Not that i'm gonna argue with free money, but to call it "HIGH CONSEQUENCE" is absurd.
what loadout for an asp scout?
I've tried full beam lasers and it has too low DPS because it's too power hungry and I always have to wait until heat comes down and power comes up
I've tried small beams/med MCs and it's good, but seeing as the small beams don't even drain the capacitor when it's on 4 pips, I'm wondering whether there would be something more effective, like full burst lasers, which have better DPE and DPS against hull than beams
You now become an ally with ALL Federation minor factions, get better missions in Fed territory, also you'll be scanned less by the fuzz and the pirates that are also aligned with the Feds will leave you alone too.
I think that covers most of it.
For what? BH? I recomend you cobra, dbs or viper MKIV. If you have enough money (7-8 mil) you can buy imperial courier and fit it with 3 medium multicanons. It can take tons of damege and kill anacondas without any problem.
Asp Scout is completely useless ship now.
It's just there's nothing to do in Horizons yet except drive around on empty barren planets on a buggy.
It's essentially a season pass, check back in 6 months to see what else has been added, and what's in store for the next 6 months.
Price aside, Horizons is fine. A lot of anons, however, are assblasted that they spent all their video games money on pony paraphernalia and can't afford space buggying and are now trying to ensure that since they can't have moon races, no one else can either.
Whats the big blue circle
Also kek at Chomsky station being a Federation station
I have a bunch of missions to find secret mission files from all these different systems, but do they have to be from these specific places?
Or can I just look around the one system and get them all there.
fun and playing with my mates.
We all trade but want to start killing some ships. We all have very little idea about how combat works and what are good weapons really.
I was looking at a IR seeking torpedo launcher but it only had one shot per rearm so I left it
Or there's the option to do what all sci fi does and make major ports throughout the area which allow you to jump directly to them through their own designated worm hole. But I guess that would still suffer from having the super cruise bullshit.
Torps do a fuck ton of damage for that one shot. So again its useless unless you're going for one specific big thing like a player or a conda assassination mission.
Fixed = High damage, more precise aiming.
Gimballed = Good damage, easy to aim.
Turret = Shit damage, auto-aim.
Pulse = Highest DPS overall due to low energy consumption and average damage.
Beam = High burst damage but will drain your energy fast.
Burst = Kind of a middle between Pulse and Beam, heats up fast.
Multi-cannon = BRRRRRT, High and consistent DPS. Lots of ammo. Only goes up to Class 2.
Cannon = THUNK, high single shot damage, might be hard to land fixed shots on. Goes up to Class 3
Frag cannon = Space shotgun, pretty meh. Not as bad as they used to be but still meh.
Railgun = Has a second or two of charge up time before it fires. Good damage, kinda low ammo, very hot and energy hungry.
Plasma Accelerator = The fuckbringer. Brings fucks, makes enemies scream FUCK, makes your power plant scream FUCK.
Loadouts will vary depending on what you and your buddies are flying. Generally you'll want kinetics on your medium hardpoints and beams on your lights. Shit like the Vulture can get away with dual large gimballed pulse because holy shit large hardpoints on a small ship.
Do you like SPACETRUCKING? I hope you do.
Issue is unless you're in something some mobile yourself you're going to struggle to keep on target when they start weaving. Its nice when you hit but expensive per shot and if the AI is feeling wriggly you're fucked
Theres AI controlled Capital ships that will be available eventually. You can form mini-fleets or wings with friends and the AI normally goes around with them.
At conflict zones two AI fleets will fight each other and you can align with one side, in certain systems at high intensity conflict zones cap ships will join the fray
I tried to use it on my mk3 cobra and just couldn't stay on target unless I had my engines on full power with the throttle in the blue zone when the ship was close and not weaving. I also use a 360 controller if thats an issue compared to HoTaS
I imagine they'd by good on less agile ships if there were actual reasons to fight Capital ships.
In War systems (not civil war) they occasionally drop into the high intensity ones. I've only ever seen them in Fed vs not Fed war systems so if a federal faction is fighting another Federal faction I doubt you'll see one.
>There you are, the guy with the big haul!
>Heh, i've been looking for you. Don't try to run.
>It's the guy carrying valuable shit, everybody knows and is after you!
>Take mission in remote part of space
>Discreet, stealth mission
>Fail if scanned
>Everybody and their fucking mother knows
I'm seriously about done with this fucking game.
did you guys all end up where you wanted to be?
