How's Bellum Imperii?
I'm just waiting for 1.1 patch to play once the initial major issues are gone.
Friend told me to just wait for Bannerlord if I want to play as Romans so much, but I want to sate my romanboo urges for time being.
play total war games in the mean time to itch roman urges.
Then play rome 1, or ERE or rome 2.
imagine seeing dirty CARTH crumble to the ground.
The Empire will be the best faction in mount and blade 2.
>that keep the same map and just add stuff
Floris and Silverstag but those are bigger overhauls of native.
>or any historical ones
Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth for historical indochina
Gekokujo for sengoku Japan
1257 for Europe in, well, 1257
Brytenwalda for late dark ages Britain
sorry to be that guy that has to be spoonfed. But I can't find anything about this online.
I've been playing AD1257 and I'm wondering about which factions have the best cavalry, whjch the best infrantry etc. I've been rolling with the Holy Roman Empire so far and senior knights seem pretty damn good while the archers seem quite worthless. Could anyone give me an impression about which factions are best at what?
fucknig kebabs stole my picture again!
kebabs have some cool horse archers
slavs have cool cav and shock infantry
welsh are total trash
other than that most europe factions are literally the same
>become mercenary for Rhodoks
>get sent out by marshall to scout random Swadian cities
>literally surrounded on all side by enemy forces
>sneak into Suno
>rest in tavern and wait a day
>King Harlaus starts following me
>go back to Suno and sneak in again
>rest in tavern again
>tfw behind enemy lines with no way out
yes you do
you can simply not do them
A smooth breeze hitting on my face. Swinging of tree branches and leafs are hypnotizing me. But I need to focus, because my opponent is waiting for me at the edge, near the hut. I’m at the top of a ruined tower on one hand I’m over watching site which ends at underground dungeons. This battlefield is already filled with traps that cannot be overseen. A single step can let you fall and die. Again, I’m looking toward to my opponent. He is walking to me with cautious steps. His plate armor shining and blocking my vision in a way. A worn shield on my back, my sword which tied to my belt on my right side and my bow on my left side. By trusting my skills, I’m sending an arrow to my opponents feets. He is halting for a second. Then I’m shooting another arrow but this time arrow hits an rock and bounce. Then I realize that this is quite useless. You can’t win a fight without clashing your sword. I’m putting my bow to its place and taking my shield and sword on my hands. While my opponent taking a strong position on the ruined tower side I’m slowly moving down from the hill. When my feet hit the ground , I slowly drawing my sword. We are looking to each others for a moment and I realize that my opponent is actually a woman. It is clear from her body that she trained for fights like this but Im not able to catch all details from her armor. And then she starts to attack me .. And here the first multiplayer battle of Mount&Blade Bannerlord begins like this.
Every fucking time this is posted, no matter the quantity I always laugh.
Even when times are tough.
Sometimes no home.
Sometimes no computer.
Our king always puts a smile on my face.
*Article about being a women in this sector
We saw on gamescom that the year is 1057 (200 years before Warband), so this info doesn't seem to be entirely correct.
*Article about why it is good to have your own game engine.
They are talking about bigger better map, better graphics, faster gameplay and a solid game. He is telling that how Frank try to estimate new map’s size. Which is 4 times larger than Warband’s(Approximately). From reporters inference, we learn that they are taking date 300 years before from Warband because they want this game’s story much more stronger than Warband. Then he is talking about world map, rivers etc and he is saying that “and now in Bannerlord seasons will affect strategies. Winter will come from the North. And the castles in the strategy map are already made with textures for showing such differences.
Then we are asking will viewing distance reduce at rainy weathers? Will there be a fog in the map at certain times? After listening my questions Frank Elliot says “We are still discussing the effects of seasons“
He is talking about how managing your lands can be profitable. Like you have a land at the edge of the your faction’s border. A border which shared with enemy. Therefore you can built a castle for protecting your land etc. You can train your own units. Armagan Yavuz talks about improved AI. Trading System and all that stuff. Which always calculates pros and cons. He says that “In a sandbox game which has no end. Only thing which keep players alive is AI’s different moves and challenges” As an example, in prisoner release AI first calculates It’s profit then it calculates enemies pros which will effect him negatively in the future.
And now we will not be the only ones who think twice before attacking an faction. AI will do the same. And same thing applies for bandits which attacks you just by considering your man-power.
Then he talks about crafting system and negative-positive side effects which can be come with crafting your own weapon.
Armagan Yavuz says that “ From now on , AI will have its companions too. Player will not that much unique in Bannerlord.”
Informations about voice acting. There will be a 60 companion each has their own accents from different cultures and own voices.Beside the companions , we will hear the voices of NPC’s which lead the story of the game. He is then talking about the dialog system which we already seen in Gamescom. On the other hand , voice acting could be a little bit under the expectations , voice designler Ugurcan Orçun says that “There is too many possibility. Too many lords, to many dialogs. Giving all of them a voice is not possible”
It's from a Turkish magazine
He is talking about 12 different board games. He also adds that all these boards game have similar examples in the real world history. He is also talks about much more “alive” cities. People who do his job, wanderers which sing at the taverns etc. And he states that Bannerlord team trys to make all cities different as possible. Berat Ceren Üstündag is a programmer which mostly covers how both AI and player will live in the cities. Therefore he asks to him that and Berat Üstündag answers “Rather than pre-programmed moves , Bannerlord’s NPC’s have their general behaviours. Therefore every time when you enter a city you will see a different action performed by AI” and he adds “We want you to feel like living that scene therefore we are working for this”
Twelve different board games, get hype
When I first open the game, a soldier which holds a waving banner in his hand welcomes me. Then I click to Multiplayer and I see a two sectioned news feed board but at that point Franks holds me and says “This page can be changed.” Then he also adds that “We are also planning to make this board which will decorated with Patch notes , tournament announcements, eSport matches etc but these are not fixed so they might be change in the future.” Then he talks about character screen which we already seen in Gamescom. Then he says that you can climb top of the objects in the game or you can tackle and fall. He says that the gameplay is quite the same. Then he talks about motion capture and he adds “In Bannerlord, animations are much more realistic therefore their ending-startings are longer than Warband’s animations. So good Warband players might need to balance their time for Bannerlord.”
>lmao who cares
That's the joke my friend
Do we have any Turkbros in /mbg/ by the way? This translation didn't include everything so maybe we missed something interesting. No translation at all for this particular page.
About release date, they are saying “When Armagan Yavuz feels fine with game, we will release the Bannerlord” because there are still some unbalanced things in the game like siege weapons and some missing parts like which culture do your buildings will be in when you built something in a city etc. So Ali Erkin says that “It will be out when Its ready”. But they are feeling positive about the end of the 2016 as a release date. And when he was about the leave they mentioned about another problem they should fix too. They still haven’t decide that should lord’s kids continue to the adventure after lords die or not.
That's all, folks.
>eSport matches etc
It's not very late yet, so I haven't gotten around to opening it, but I just bought some pic related and will enjoy that later.
Competent chess AI is actually pretty fucking hard to make. The number of possible move combinations explodes exponentially to the point where you need an immense amount of memory and time to figure out an optimal play.
>giving it a lot of preset combinations and ability to calculate a few turns ahead
Neither of those 2 things is as simple as you might assume. The number of preset combinations you would need to make a difference is ungodly huge and even trying to look a few moves ahead can require crazy amounts of computation. I studied AI at uni and I've lately been thinking about making a mod that replaces auto-calc with a sort of strategy mini-game that is far more simple than chess, but I'm stuck on coming up with AI that won't need to evaluate like a trillion possibilities.
Can't a mod that just run the battles but without the graphics interface be done?
Both armies on charge, it runs the same as it normally would, but without graphics, making things faster. If you need some seconds to make auto-calc work instead of some minutes of battle then I am okay with it. Game makes the battle flow, it would just make the same thing but faster.
I'm really not sure how that would work. Are you actually talking about simulating all the physics and everything, just not having it display on screen? That is way beyond the scope of what mods can do.
there need to be some kind of penalty for autocalc-ing though (although it should'nt be as retarded as our current autocalc)
what's the point of doing battles if autocalc could produce the exact same result?
I already use cheat engine to speed it up to 2x letting all my units charge when I am dealing with some looters.
Am I "cheating" by making the game go faster in your opinion?
If no, do I deserve to be punished for doing so as I am basically doing an auto-calc?
If yes, is ctrl+space a cheat too when you are traveling as it only makes the game faster or no, because it is programmed into the game?
Making things faster isn't cheating. Before then I just opened a video on my tablet and watched while my army fought.
I'm curious about how they are going to code 6 board games Ai now.
Also is anyone here also waiting for some word on those formations ?
>uses cheat engine
>thinks he's not cheating
speeding things up have consequences though (like being unable to dodge things you normally could, etc)
autocalc-ing isn't "just speeding things up". it's straight up skipping the whole thing altogether
What he means is that he currently speeds the game up and hangs back to let his troops do the battle without him, while what he wants is an autocalc that runs the battle but skips giving you control over a character and rendering the graphics.
Yeah, it would be dumb if they decide to cut that from the final release, since we've had no news on it.
Though they said that Empire gameplay relies heavily on spear formations
>relies heavily on spear formations
I don't think they use that wording anywhere, but they did mention Empire making use of spear formations as part of their diverse forces.
>The Empire has spent generations honing the arts of combined-arms warfare, with cataphracts, spear formations, and archers all doing their part on the battlefield.
That's not what happens though. Don't be such a fucking pussy they already nerfed WRE hardcore.
I think you mean buffed, mate. Roman units are now 1 turn recruitment, corruption is capped at 60%, and White Huns make the game even easier for ERE, so ERE can help out WRE more often.
I meant nerfed WRE difficulty.
Yes. You start with more money since corruption got nerfed (you have like 55% corruption, it is capped at 60%). You start with 5K, but that can grow to 12K if you get rid of all of your churches. Also those basic Roman units that took 2 turns are now 1 turn, so you can don't need to wait to field an actual army.
sub-zero temperatures gone for 4 days. It's just rainy now.
ok let's see.
>voice-over is confirmed
>there would be more realistic sounds in everything general
>music will be continuous this time
>music will change between victories, defeat planning stages etc.
>they are going to be careful about differences between races.
> they are not afraid of postponing the game because of balancing they acknowledge it.
>animations are going to be better.
>author says he had duel with someone called meriç. He says he dueled in, ruins of a tower and dungeons.
some retarded story about how taleworlds formed.
>they talk about making bannerlords an endless adventure.
>the ps4 version is going to be downgraded because of 60fps priority. they say you can only fight in 100vs100 battles in ps4.
cheers m8 !
what the hell, shouldn't I be able to rebel now? I took it myself and
asked for it
I think I found my answer
>I believe what you need to do is to NOT conquer another fief in the meantime after asking for one to be awarded to you. For instance, you conquer fief A, ask for it to be awwarded, and then conquer fief B and ask for it to be awarded before fief A has been decided on - I believe in this case you do not get to rebel when it is awarded to someone else because the fief you are now waiting to be awarded is switched to fief B
>was that actually the game or was it M&B:W riddled with malware
I have to ask this:
Are you actually retarded son?
The screenshots from earlier were leaked from an old alpha like two years ago.
Bannerlord, ofcourse, it says so in the torrent name.
Why would anyone lie to you on the internet? Go ahead and try it :-)
the roman empire will conquer all, baloo dat bbygurl
>He doesn't like Romans
>He doesn't like Scipio Africanus
>He doesn't like Sulla
>He doesn't like Pompey
>He doesn't like Julius Caesar
>He doesn't like Honorius "I love cocks" Augustus
>forgetting based majorian before ricimer the sack of shit killed him
>liking bunch of italians who got fat and got rekt by barbs and turks
embarassing really. It was good while it lasted though.
Plus Hitler loved Romans, and look what that turned out into.
>commander is bleeding like a pussy
>expect his forces to fight the same
They already fought hard to get to your wounded ass, which is reflected in the retreat screen. You deserve to be punished for being kill.
But then again thats how I
How 2 gitgud at geko?
>Start poor as shit
>Looters are the only thing that do not fuck your shit up
>Only way to stop being poor is freelancing
>Implying freelancing is fun
>Implying your lord won't either wander around forever or get rekt instantly
I do not want this fag in my team, right?
How do I get honorable lords on my side if they're too honorable to betray their king?
>sit on a horse and shoot looters with a bow from a stationary position
>move when they get too close
>steadily git gud at archery
>go to a dojo in a city
>keep fighting and bagging the cash money for beating everyone
>the archery training was for the times you start with a bow because if you have one and can shoot well, you will wreck everyone with ease
>rinse and repeat until you can build silk and dyeworks in the town, then move onto the next
Are you a king or pressing a claim for someone? If you're a king, you can just capture the fuckers and then release them, that will improve the relations with the honourables a lot.
When they are concerned with state of the kimgdom, thats when you can get them.
Had like 90 relations and was married to dudes daughter, plus had to say shit he wanted to hear. On top of that, the king was an asshat who was at war on 3 fronts.
I typically train two or three honourable companions with the intention of assigning them fiefs when I start my kingdom. Gives me the extra manpower I need on campaigns.
Also, doom stack your cities and castles if you can afford it. It makes them less appealling targets and gives you reserves to replenish losses and garrison new aquisitions.
Pretty hard to simulate kiting an army for months with thousands of arrows per man. I've always dreamt of doing this myself.
This has been discussed before (see link), it wouldnt work. Most of the processing power required for warband's battles are in the AI code and not the graphics.
Shieldwalls with legionnaires (I think it's K for shieldwall, PoP has it's own rudimentary formations system), with a line of pikemen (put them in a separate group) just in front of them. The second the enemy cavalry hit the pikes, you move the infantry block forwards. Crossbows behind both, obviously.
>also how do i order the pikeman to crouch and brace?
I did say rudimentary formations, you can't. Usually they'll stab the incoming cavalry anyways to stop them, and even if they get through they'll get stuck in the infantry behind.
>army of Sarelon marching to siege my shit
>suddenly Three Seers
shame I can't join on their side
>The unique spawns (like Dread Legion) are a different story.
ehh only to a degree. The vast majority of it are still trash units, but yes, they have a large amount of elite units too.
as for WotWoM not really.
My only memories are that you should explore all the dwellings, digging on graveyards netted lots of loot and you could create golems and shit from the stuff found there, or use skeletons to summon some deamons, magic used bullets (I think?) to work. Also in the original version graveyard and some other thing (goblin den?) had their names switched, not sure if you downloaded fixed version or not.
So, I did a little googling, to see if one can add more music to the native/warband. I see that you can replace the files, but is it possible to add to them?
I want more overworld music, some Moondog, or the Holy Grail theme, as well as the original sound files.
Is such a thing possible, or should I just make a playlist out of game? Downside being that battle music and shopping music will mix in whenever.
Rhodoks a best
>When did Romans/Eastern Romans ever attack innocents for no reason?
Never. They did it for very good reasons all the time, though.
Slavery is a very profitable enterprise.
Let me rephrase.
When did Roman soldiers ever attack innocents for no reason on their own without first being commanded to do so by their superiors?
Barbarians went left and right, raping and destroying everything and creating nothing
How can you even compare them to the Romans who always left a (positive) trace wherever they went?
Any other mods besides PoP that lets you create your own troops?
Floris has some freelancer troops that you can customize but said customization is limited to 'swap this one equipment with another that deals +1 damage / gives +1 armor'
Why do these bitches keep playing with my heart? Is it because of my name? My mother picked that name, harlot.
Caesar a good boy he dindu nufin he jus out spreadin civilisation
>Bannerlord will basically have the Roman Empire, plus the more important barbarian tribes as playable (Huns, Goths, Franks, etc)
>But won't have an equivalent to Aksum
Do Turks hate black people?
Fucking sandniggers hating on my name. My mother picked the best names.
There is a reason why I traveled to Calradia instead of staying home. Ain't trying that shit again.
Slaves that had rights.
Did slaves in barbarian lands have any rights? I don't think so.
Stop trying to compare heaven and earth, yes, the Romans did their fair share of "evil", cultural genocide through assimilation comes to mind, but they are nothing compared to barbarians.
There's a reason why the Dark Ages are called so - a period of darkness ruled by barbarians, marked with savage warfare and the death of many innocent Christians, without the cultural light of the Romans.
>There's a reason why the Dark Ages are called so - a period of darkness ruled by barbarians, marked with savage warfare and the death of many innocent Christians, without the cultural light of the Romans.
Time to stop posting
Good news: Her daddy ran away to the Vaegirs, meaning the wedding between her and one of the Emirs seems to have been cancelled.
Bad news: Vaegirs.
>period of darkness ruled by barbarians, marked with savage warfare and the death of many innocent Christians, without the cultural light of the Romans.
Damn, they sound like monsters, those barbarians.
I was thinking about early early romans before the punic wars. Like 3 am waking up to piss early romans. A lot of their language was either stolen from the etruscans or based off celtic. They were sort of analogous to the iberians, like mediterranean barbarians who lived on hilltops.
Mustve really shocked the greeks to see a bunch of italian hillmen eventually take on carthage.
For online multiplayer Napoleonic Wars is better than Vanilla.
From an outsider's perspective the community is really cancerous. That wouldn't normally be a big deal but NW is pure cooperative multiplayer, so interaction and coordination are a huge part of the game. Kinda runs contrary to what a lot of native warband players like or are used to.
Plus the guy who made NW is a legit pedophile who got in trouble for cybering with minors.
>Plus the guy who made NW is a legit pedophile who got in trouble for cybering with minors.
It's because in practice scrubs find that people using 2 handers appear to swing faster while in reality 2 hander swing speed is slower. The reasons for this vary from person to person but it's generally because of either
>the person complaining about swing speed is a scrub and has relatively shit reaction times
>the person complaining about swing speed is a scrub and has no idea what blockstun is
>weapon that isn't even in MP
Both communities are pretty good if you're around the people/clans/regiments that have been around for years. It's mostly just the newfags that spout ebin memes and act like faggots.
I agree, but the speed is far more troublesome. When a heavy musket with a bayonet is more nimble and fast than daggers, swords, and everything else that's a major problem.
>you didn't make this argument but I'm just going to shitpost anyways
Thanks for your contribution.
>When a heavy musket with a bayonet is more nimble and fast than daggers, swords, and everything else that's a major problem
i think it's faster than SOME 1h weapons but definitely not all
the main problem with the bayonet is how it compares to similar weapons of its class
comparing the French Charleville Musket to the hunting spear since they have pretty similar reach:
musket: 85 speed/3.5wg/45p
spear: 75 speed/2.5wg/25p
like holy shit what? for one a dual purpose weapon shouldn't be better than a dedicated type for the sake of balance, but the musket is just better because of the damage and speed, the spear only has 21 more reach
it's a fucking mess
>not roleplaying your waifu who traveled back in time and has to acclimate herself to the culture and harshness of Calradia
>join most populated native server
>these shitty community made maps where the attackers can shoot all the way into the defender's fortifications
>katanas, guns and shit
>a tf2-tier amount of sounds and voices that play all the time
>he plays multiplayer in a game where singleplayer is the main focus
>he gets elitistic (read autistic) over it
>he thinks his opinion is worth jack shit
>he thinks chivalry-tier spins are "skill"
Mount & Blade is only popular because of the multiplayer aspect. Everyone realizes that Mount & Blade is supposed to be a multiplayer title with a single-player aspect added to it. That's why they hired someone to make sure the multiplayer gameplay gets even better.
So blood and gold is bugged or some shit, I started out and went on land, and now It seems I'm actually stuck on land, and it won't let me use the ship I was on.
And I also don't even have a ship now?
what a buggy mess ;_;
Waiting for Bannerlord and playing Warband high level character like
I'll fuck you real good, you little tavern whore.
Right where you serve the wine.
>Giving all of them a voice is not possible
Good, voice acting should only be used for the "main quest" dialogue and important events you'll have to stumble upon sooner or later. Using it for anything else is retarded and limits modding, since mods without voice acting made for a game that has voice acting for everything just feel subpar.
In Morrowind mods retain good quality for the simple fact that there was no need for voice acting, you just write the dialogue and attach topics.
Explain further your wishes.
Any mod is okay if you limit your battle size, unless you fear fighting a 1000 army with some 100 guys because there aren't enough enemies to stop you from carrying the whole army.
I mean if I have to limit my battle size to something like 60, it's not very fun to have to go through like 50 rounds of battle/reinforcement when there's a decent size battle.
If a mod has generally smaller party sizes, a smaller battle size would be more appropriate.
Why not just use 1 line though? Introdcution, it can be repeated for other characters, doesn't require a lot of resources. PotC is a good example of this. Some character don't have a line but it did not feel weird at all as those characters were minimal.
233 days at 38% difficulty
When should i start to get good?
Just noticed some russian released a new Rome themed mod, imperial rome
I'd like to try it, but there are no screenshots, only some cringy let's play video. Don't feel like downloading since I have shitty 4th world internet.
Could anyone try this mod and tell me if it's worthwhile?
Difficulty % really doesn't mean anything.
Depending on the module turning player damage to 100% may mean you'll have a sudden influx of being one-shot right at the start by an elite missile troop getting a headshot.
Anyone here even tries to do the renown quests for orders in PoP? Because I think almost 200 renown in 20 days is frankly ridiculous.
>infantry lines about to clash
>horse dies near group of enemies
>get chased back to own line
>men ignore my attackers and chase horse archers
Probably should've used hold F1 but it's still annoying.
So why do the fucking empire have spqr fucking banners?
are these fuckers meant to be romans or some shit?
a-are you alright anon?
Are you all fucking retarded? During the Dark Ages pagan barbarians were fighting Christian barbarians who violently took over, there is literally nothing wrong with what he said.
Is it normal that when the defenders sally out to fight you you and your soldiers only have a handful of arrows?
try 1866 for orignal M&B, it's really great even though its old and generally has around 10-30 people in parties
dont even bother with 1860s america for Warband though
Well maybe I say it wrong, but I did like PoP back then, heck it was the mod that get me into M&B.
but I also know for sure that some people here didn't like it because of the dev.
and since suddenly people are talking about it now I was just wondering.
nothing as flashy, most good things come from tweaking some numbers, so you don't run into rouge knight rapeparty day one but have a plethora of brigands and other shit-tier enemies to choose from etc.
just reinstalled PoP after a year or so and in the first battle find out they still haven't removed those god awful female battle cries. are there any decent voice packs out there or should i just restore them to native?
Don't know of any other voice packs. You could always open the sounds folder and delete the worst offenders, but I grown to kind of enjoy them t.b.h. Like a D-class movie I guess.
i don't mind most of them, it's just that horrible wailing banshee screech that seems to be the most common one used. it's so hilariously bad i don't know how anybody could have tested it in one battle and decided "yep, this is great!"
>luring deathstack near your besieged town
man, that took waaay more time and cheesing than anyone would deem reasonable
It adds boats, naval battles, two religions with holy places that you can loot, some extra siege options, some pre battle options like dueling with the enemy, a couple of dungeons, two questlines and some random encounters.
It has boats
An awful story mode
Some custom starting positions (iirc you can start as a king and shit if you want to)
A bunch of dumb menial labour shit like pic related
A variety of different things like how post-battle loot works, flavour events, hideouts, etc.
that and any tutorial they give you closes before you can even fucking read it in caribbean. caribbean is easy as piss though. pirating is such an insane amount of money and it's easy as shit to just get a fleet of overpowered boats and have your way with everybody since other stacks of ships can't join battle from a distance.
I think he just doesn't know what realism means and is by far overestimating the capabilities of a warrior
>bought DS2 for dual wielding
This nigga has to be trolling everyone on the forum.
I never understood how people determine the "average" weight of a sword though.
>he doesnt want to dual wield lances
desu if they take into account the late renaissance/early mordern swords the the average doesn't make any sense
