Why haven't you killed yourself yet for being the most useless person there ever was?
I found a Soul Taker, nearly perfect roll too 140% IPD and 24% AS. Never played melee so this sjould be fun. Thinking of making a build with it rather than selling. What's a good skill to go with it /poet/? I was thinking of a multistrike build but not reave I want something more edgy so maybe Dual Strike? Auras I was thinking of Grace+Hatred and something like Dual Strike-Multistrike-Melee phys-Melee Splash-added fire and hypothermia when I get a 6L astral plate. Will get Iron Reflex and some hybrid one hander nodes that should put me at 24% block.
Grace+Hatred puts you at 100% mama reserved. cwdt+enfeeble works pretty well since you're always in melee range. I don't think its worth dropping neither auras for a 35% bladphamy enfeeble aura. Charisma alone won't drop Blasphamy from 35 to 25%. You'd need a 25% free mana to fit in AA since Hatred reserves 50% mana.
With charisma + blasph + hatred you're at 79% reserved mana. AA requires 25% manager so won't fit in.
With charisma + hatred + blasphemy + AA it would put you at 102% mama reserved. I also want to point out that Charisma is at a retarded long spot I'm going either with Scion or Marauder and picking up the leech nodes at the bottom so there's little need for Vaal Pact. Going there will severely reduce the points you can spent and gimping your build.
I had to try
Any tips for when she splits in 4?
I got her to 50%, healing stage is fine, solo is fine, but 4 of them I just hit 2-3 things in the face and that is
I am aware that my hp/es is ass but my gear suck atm
derped forgot to calculate the 4%, you'll sit at 97% mana reserved, but yeah you're right. To reach it takes 9 nodes, makes me wonder if it's really worthed though. If I started as melee ranger or shadow it's alot easier and I agree worth in getting the cluster.
For HC I strongly dislike the idea of a melee Ranger due the lack of life on the right side compared to the left side. I did abit of planning on the tree, and at around like 90ish I should have around 7.5k life (256% life with jewels), which is a pretty good amount. I tried Southpaw reaver ranger in Wardbands and I found it quite challenging to get sub 5-5.5k life.
Evasion characters can generally have less life because they generally get hit far less.
Armour characters have to survive all the hits of a pack, an evasion character only has to survive one. I've played plenty of evasion characters to 90+ and getting 5k life is enough for it. Evasion and 7k+ would be completely obscene.
>5k life is enough
dunno about this. all my eva chars i build with ~200% life and end up with like 6.5k and i dont feel its "more than enough"
yeah if you arent going for vp or ranger already its not worth it
When you do get hit it hurts, particulary on hard hitting mobs. Lightning Coil is pretty expensive on HC it's like 5+ exalts currently. I wouldn't feel comfortable playing an evasion melee character without a LC while Armour based character can get away using a astral plate even if you're a melee.
Guys what would be a good build atm?
Want to restart a new char that is well rounded.
You can generally get a around 150%-160% life without much extra travel on the right side.
To get the remaining 40-50% you need to take 6-7 jewel sockets and good luck with that on the right side.
you need 180% before jewels optimally
this means that if you start ranger, youll need to dip into some duelist life, or if you are shadow, either some witch life or scion wheel. either way its more than doable
I didn't say it wasn't possible, I said you have to give up a lot. Life is stretched thin on that side. My ranger has all the life nodes from duelist to shadow and she only has 153% before jewels.. It'll only be 165% after I get the last 3 less efficient 4% nodes.
No other position in the tree has to travel so far to get high life totals. That is the point I am making, not that it wasn't possible if you wanted to thin out all your other points heavily for life.
>if you wanted to thin out all your other points heavily for life.
thats the compromise of hc builds, no matter what side/defense choice they have
on sc 140-160% total may be acceptable if your dps can pull you past dangerous shit fast enough
Nigga I got 92 (beyond), 90 (bloodlines) in other leagues and currently 87 (HC tali) now with evasion acro builds with 160~% life and no LC's. These builds ARE hc viable.
These characters felt more than safe and were still alive when I stopped playing (I don't play that much which is why I cap out at around 90).
Two of those characters existed before "tier" maps but I was doing 78s (which were the max then) without hassle friend.
I've already done t10 maps on my new character though I haven't had the best map pool on that one to advance as of yet.
The thing with evasion characters is that i feel like they end up taking way less damage than armor ones.
With armor once you start getting hits you keep getting hit. With evasion you just get the occasional hit, while moving around.
Yeah or the ocassional one shot, thats the whole problem with it. With armor you're getting hit, but you can take the hit no matter what. With evasion you might just drop dead for taking that one hit.
Untill the woops happens, you get a hard hit with a crit. You'll get one shotted. Your build is build around that "99% I won't die" 1% is bound to happen eventually. Shit hits alot harder at T8 and up, no LC as evasion build is def not viable on higher tier maps. Even with LC you need also ToH in some cases to up your mitigation even further.
What if you get shit like 80% extra damage as lightning or fire damage or some other crazy damage mods? Do you chaos over it? With your builds you probably need to.
Also Armour characters are usually Scion or Marauder which have insane life usually around 7k or more taking damage is ok. Also alot of builds utilize Life Leech together with Life regen making the damage you take less significant and stack that together with block or spell block I could keep going.
All characters can eat a stars align insta rip/rolled the map too hard and get crit one shot.
There is NO character or build that is 100% safe from dying. All you have to do is understand the weakness of your build and play accordingly.
so I am a ranger and I want to build DW crit sword ice crash
please don't ask me why I don't play duelist/other better memes
currently my build look like this:
my damage is okish but defensive I can only rely with some half assed evasion.
I get ass raped with only 3K health around when I face something can't freeze or hit and run ranged mobs.
anything I can change on the passive tree, beside my shitty gear?
People keep talking about occasional one shots, and yet whenever im watching videos of one shots, its ussually 3-4 hits that instantly kill people which is 100% prevented by evasion.
I think there are like a handfull of things that can actually one shot you if you have 6k hp with maxed resists.
And the HURRR MUH ONE SHOTS. If you get one shot trough 5-6k hp you would need crazy ammounts of armour to survive, and guess what with like 15k armour getting hit for 6k hp, would mean that you still take like 4.5k dmg. And guess what, with armour that sets you up for a stun that lasts for a few seconds and the mob that hit you for 6k will kill you guaranteed because you cannot evade attacks.
Evasion is superior to armour especially since you have so many dmg reduction buffs in the game, and just thank god there are people like you who still fall for the armour meme because it keeps evasion gear cheaper.
>With your builds you probably need to.
Wow, it's almost as though you play to the strengths and against the weaknesses of a character!
Do you do BM maps with an aura bot? Do you do no regen with RF? No? Then you don't roll retarded stacked extra damage as evasion because you need to survive that one hit.
Why are you comparing a fucking 7.5k hp armour char with a 5k evasion char?
Guess what faggot, a 7.5k hp evasion character has a huge chance to not die compared to a 5k hp armour character.
Funny thing, doing high monster crit maps on evasion might be a lot safer than with armour characters. As on super high evasion monsters basically cannot crit you.
Why not marauder hege crit ice crash? Hege is made for Ice Crash crit, I think it's alot better than goig sword unless you're going to buy some very expensive rare pure phys swords.
Is this enough dmg? Also what should i change besides swapping the duelist start for ranger start and dropping the 2 duelist starting nodes?
Its true, the thing is map drops feel like they come in bursts, you either get nothing or maybe 1 map in a full clear. Or you get showered in maps and get like 5+ maps in a map.
but he's been caught lying several times
and he always fucks things up on release so he can swoop in and fix it later like a superhero and make more money off the lebbitards
>Will I be able to enchant corrupted gloves/helm/boots in Ascendancy? Will the Enchantments override the implicits obtainable through corruption or can itens have both?
>Ascendancy enchantments override corruption implicits. This is why we picked gloves/helms/boots, because they don't have corruption implicits as frequently.
right, cúck wilson, because why would anyone ever want +1 frenzy charge or free curse on hit
Any opinions on this build for MF?
Guide says this link:
Caustic Arrow, Void Manipulation, Rapid Decay, Increased Area of Effect, Slower Projectiles Empower
Also how do MF builds differ in quality? I was also looking at this one
and i dont really know how to decide which one is better?
what the fuck is the second one, it's a completely different thing, looks like an aurabot build but with... ancestral bond?
anyways, on your original CA there's something I would change: hired killer is kinda shit, you can repath through finesse and take the ranger start life instead, and you could also grab druidic rite if you have mana problems
I messaged a guild officer, I hope he sends the invite soon, but they normally don't care much.
From what I've seen, the leader, hashtag, plays like 2 weeks on new leagues and then quits and is not seen for the rest of the league. He also doesn't want to kick inactive people. The officers are either finns who don't give a damn about non-finns or people who no longer browse /poeg/
Yeah, it's an aurabot build taken from a different forum guide.
basicly i have around 4 ex starting budget and want to make an MF build for t7-t11 maps.
Im looking at the character creation screen now and trying to find a build that looks good so i can pick the respective character and start leveling
I'd rather focus on group play and cull for the increased quantity boost of groups.
If playing alone is the better option i'd also go for that.
The second build i linked (the witch) has the problem of using a shav which is too expensive for me atm
You didn't respond my question, do you already have a group? like friends or guild, if you want to do some kind of aurabot you'll need a reliable team.
Anyways, I might be wrong but I feel like you don't know what you're doing. The itemization for a MF aurabot would be kinda hard since there are a few uniques you need to use for IIQ/IIR that don't have many ES, and getting good ES MF gear would be really expensive.
The CA build you linked first is definitely for solo. But really any build that is not extremely gear reliant can MF; just get the IIQ/IIR gear. A friend of mine did SWT and geared for MF early and had a flame totem linked with IIR and culling for example
I am an officer, a non-finn and I browse the thread here and there.
I just never browse the thread and play at the same time and I can't be assed loading up the game.
Just get someone to tell you the name of an officer and whisper them when they are online and they'll probably do it.
I have a couple friends with whom i map on a regular basis.
I really dont know what i'm doing MF build wise, i have only ever played tornado shot, arc and discahrge mjölner.
So basicly i can slap the same IIR/IIQ gear on the CA and the aurabot build, but the difference is that the CA doesnt contribute much to the group except for the culling while the aurabot does but cant solo anything?
the problem with CA is that it's not a very party-friendly build because it's based on degen so even if you have very high damage the life modifier from party makes the mobs have much more life, which means you'll kill mobs much more slowly. In general, people who play CA play solo.
I think aurabots are much better if they focus on the aura aspect rather than trying to get MF gear on an aurabot.
If you want to do a party friendly culler, I would suggest going life based support curser: it's much less gear reliant, which means you can fit in more MF uniques and can support the party with both curses, auras, ele equilibrium and charges with conduit.
The tree should look something like this http://poeurl.com/vCT
You would basically use a quill rain to curse and a defensive quiver with resists + life which you will need to cap ele resists. With the tree alone you'll have 2 curses (which you can apply with ice shot GMP CoH, which applies chilled grounds, but you'll need a 5l quill rain), you can get more with either doedre's rings or windscream (or a +1 to curses amulet, but they're rare and expensive) but I'm pretty sure you would rather fill those equipment slots with MF gear. I guess you could use something like greed's embrace for chest, sadima's or aurseize for gloves, goldwyrm for boots, perandus belt, and maybe a goldrims, well rolled ventor's or andvarius for rings, and a golden amulet with IIR. I'm not entirely sure how does MF gear itemization work. For the auras I'd run something like grace and an offensive one, and maybe clarity if you can fit it in. Apply EE with ice shot if your friends aren't doing cold damage, or use AoF instead if they aren't doing fire damage. If there isn't an element they aren't using, then drop EE. Generate charges with a frenzy setup, in fact you can also use it as your culling setup (frenzy GMP IIR culling) and get one or two vaal haste with inc duration
Thanks, looks like this is a good option.
Speaking of life based builds, ive come across this one, its kind of a mix between solo and group play:
This is the guide, it doesnt use exessivly expensive gear and seems to perform well
Anyone wanna run some pretty nice gorges with me. I hate to have these maps go to waste on just me. ign Hustleboner
IMHO incinerate totems don't look as good as they did in 2.0, as incinerate was heavily nerfed, so I'd rather do a similar build but using flame totems instead. This build doesn't have huge clear speed, but it's pretty solid, cheap and not gear reliant, so you can fit in your MF uniques http://poeurl.com/vCZ, I made a new tree because the one from the guide was shit. The links would be something like flame totem - fire penetration - faster projectiles - controled destruction - faster casting - iron will. The only problem is getting enough dex to use a high level faster projectiles, since we're not grabbing any projectile speed from tree (it's on the opposite side of it). I would also use a wand with projectile speed, spell damage, added fire to spells and cast speed.
I'd personally level it with either cyclone and trying to get into the duelist area without spending many nodes or flame totem and getting into the templar area. You might need additional regret points though, the ones from the quests might not be enough
Evasion is naturall to be paired with acro because its just convinient if you are in that part of the tree.
You can just as easy pick up fortify on evasion as you can pick up endurance charges (at least the base 4).
Enfeeble is as just better on eva compared to armour, armour uses and requires it as well. I mean you have way more defensive options as evasion compared to armour.
oh yeah I forgot about those. Well, I assumed you were on a temp league so no IIQ gem. I am not sure what is the optimal option for MFing, if you're only going to cull rares, uniques and bosses I'd rather get a separate setup like flame totem - culling - IIR (- IIQ?), but if you want to use it on the main links I'd go for something like FT - IIR - firepen - faster proj - CD - (IIQ? or faster casting)
What do you think of my tree for Soul Taker /poeg/?
>5.4% life regen
>2.2% life leech so we dont need a life leech gem
>around 24% block
>str, life and gear included a base life around 2310 x 3.45 = 7969 life at lv90
>Iron Reflex combined with grace shpuld put out aroumd 15k armour atleast
With 4 Endurance + Enfeeble + Fortitide + 24% block + 15k armour should be enough to tank all the donkey monkeys if i need more defense ill pop a granite or ToH for bosses.
Any other suggestions?
okay, I'd say it could be passable for a caster/elemental based build, but for a melee phys build it's quite bad.
The worst thing about elementalist is the 8% nodes surrounding it, you're just wasting points traveling through them
get 6 endurance charges
go attack damage leech instead pf straight phys
play around with ir and grace maybe evade is better or it's only needed for like vuln maps so you drop hoa or something. if you have the stats aa will be a good option to have as well
rampart is not worth if you do the maths
I played around with Soul Taker already, I forgot to include RT, but without RT crit chance was only 5%. The chance to freeze is noticeable from Elementatlist every now and then I break mobs into scraps of ice.
Because Soul Taker doesn't have that high phys damage. A good rare one-hander can reach way higher phys damage. Last night I was able to craft a pretty amazing flat phys DPS one-hander (i84 btw) with 360ish DPS after like 3k Alterations I was about to give up then bam!
The Blade Barier + Ambidex seems pretty standard like every dualwield build has it so I figured it's good enough. I'm not sure what other DPS increase i can get. I want to use a sword in main hand so i can utilize Whirling Blade, it kinda sucks playing a melee without Whirling Blades.
Only armour nodes I grabbed is Unyielding, isn't the -20% critical damage taken worth grabbing them? Even if i get rid of that cluster it frees up 3 points getting 2 endurance charges requires 4 points, but could settle for another endurance charge at the very least.
Starting either as Scion or Marauder so won't have as much evasion as a Ranger. Using stuff as Lightning Coil and Devoto's Devotion will greatly benefit from IR. Devotion alone will net a flat 1,1k armour for a helmet if I have IR.
> Last night I was able to craft a pretty amazing flat phys DPS one-hander (i84 btw) with 360ish DPS after like 3k Alterations
I bought 430+ dps 1h swords last league for less than those alterations cost you wtf man
Every build that is stronger than mine should be nerfed
see how ir and evasion with grace go endgame, it might just be nice to scary maps with vuln or some other mod i can't think of.
you don't have enough armour for it to matter. endcharges and aa will be much better. just drop all the armour
It's a flat phys 1-hander not hybrid with elemental damage. They are pretty expensive I could sell it for atleast 5-6ex on THC. Even on standard pure phys sword is fairly expensive and there arent many that are around 400 DPS. Go look on standard league, I can't find a single pure phys sword that's above 360 dps and ranging in the 30-40 exalts. Lastly 3k alts is only 3 exalts.
Will play around with it and test how it turns out.
>Go look on standard league, I can't find a single pure phys sword that's above 360 dps and ranging in the 30-40 exalts
I'm seeing a handful of 350+ pDPS 1h weapons at 8-10 ex, not 30+.
Yeah, pure phys swords are very expensive right now on THC as well as in the Standard permanent league. I haven't played a dual wield since awakening so I wouldn't know how much they were before.
Swords are more popular because you can Whirling Blades with Sword, Dagger, Claws but not with axes. There's lower demand for phys axes that's why the price for like a 350+ axe isn't as high as a sword.
Ok guys, I am an arc witch with ~4/5 exalts worth of currency right now.
What's the best next upgrade for me between those 3 choices:
-Void battery for 5ex
-Tabula rasa with +1 to gems as well as empower for 8 chains
-Waiting for a 4B1G Lightning Coil to be sold for a decent price?
I just played some Grim Dawn, and in that game was a based Shaman of many lightning strikes
How can I achieve a WIIIIIIINDS build in this game? Preferably melee.
why are you ugys even playing hc for this game?
Like, I totally understnd the trill, but I just got lagged the fuck out by the servers for no reason and died with things not even moving on the screen. I would have been mad if this was hc.
Also I saw a friend turn is graphics to toaster-runescape level so he would play with the least lag possible. okay...
people bitch and moan about technical issues but personally ive only lost 2 characters to issues out my control, playing since closed beta, and they were both to desync, which is gone now
playing memefeathers build
i have too much attack speed, my poachers mark can't keep up with the cyclone anymore.
Which mana node should I get poeg, i already have primal spirit, so the choice stands between essence sap cluster or mana flows.
yeah it's probably best. Why i considered mana flows is because it's just two points, mana regen is amazing and the +int is good. But essence sap might sustain my mana better. will get that after I socket my sweet ass jewel.
>need 200m xp to lvl my gem from 19 to 20
>character is lvl 84
>only needs 100m
So is Ascendancy going to be a new act, with more story progression and world building end exposition, or is this labyrinth thing just like a new side-area/side-feature?
It kind of sounds like this is just a new challenge area or whatever off to the side, and not what we find after we exit the beast.
Did they even end up completing that beast escape scenario they wanted to add in, after we kill Malachai or did they forget about that?
Eh, doesn't seem that much of a luxury considering you can buy a lot of corrupted lvl 20 gems for less than 10 chaos. Granted they are corrupted but it doesn't really matter if you're not going to try vaal'ing it yourself anyway.
friendly reminder to buy your jewels from poetrade, dont roll them yourself
i bought two jewels with double res, high area damage, high melee physand attack speed for 3c a piece. Great dps boost on both, and resitances I need. Rolling your owns and regal them is terrible, i used to do that before but it's super easy to search for good jewels on poetrade
people say LA is good and TS is ass now but ive no experience with either this league, however, ice shot is excellent and im running a voltaxic blast rain and it has pretty good clearing (currintly doing t6-t7s), and single target is better than any other bow skill ive used recently
With pure evasion gear and IR you can easily get double the armour than if you had pure armour gear.
A great armour chest has 1500+ armour while a good evasion chest can hit 2k+ easily.
adds an "adventure mode with crafting hub", an endgame, adds stat-based scaling to previously fixed damage skills, more hero monster, champion monsters, several endgame sets, etc
in general it improves the game
I just started for this season, got to 71, only did a few maps mostly just dried lake farming though.
I just realized I haven't found Vorici even once. What the shit? Am I bring stupid or just unlucky? Is there an area where he spawns more often?
I was thinking about making a ele bow crit build, I guess most people go for windripper, but I checked it up and there are harbingers with +200edps and good crit which are way cheaper than windrippers, what are the advantages of going windripper other than the IIQ/IIR? is it the higher APS windripper has?
also, pls r8 my tree http://poeurl.com/vDH
>still no cellphone app for trading or even for trading request notifications
>still losing 1-2 ex a day on missed trades
>Is desync still a problem
not as long as you have a good connection, they introduced a new type of protocol named lockstep which fixes desync but if you have latency the game feels choppy
>Are duelists still shit
still not optimal for anything, but ascendancy will probably fix that
>Did they ever make pants
no fuck off, everything is worth the exact same and might even go up the last few weeks of the build's life.
have a couple of sacrificial harvests, a chill, a call of the brotherhood. think i might play it another few days.
>get all my rigwald armor pieces
>sell all my unneeded stuff for 7000 forum gold
>just chilling to sell my equipped gear for an extra few thousand forum gold
Good to know this game is only worth playing for 2-3 weeks every 4 months, now we get jack shit until june when ascendancy comes.
Guess I'll just stick to diablo 3 season 5 on Tuesday.
>b-b-b-but it comes out after the 3 month leagues!!!
kek, enjoy having another 1 month flashback league and another 1 month shitty event because the expansion isn't ready yet.
Hello, I was pointed to this game because I wanted to play a game with a poison/plague class theme.
I imagine Shadow or Witch would be what I would go for, but which one gives me more poisons and similar themes to work with?
shadow is probably more poison themed and it's probably the better option.
Right now, there are four main branches of poison characters:
-Essence drain + contagion: Essence drain is a projectile that applies a damage over time. If you apply contagion, the enemy spreads the essence drain effect on death. This build is cheap
-Fire to chaos conversion, with a dagger that makes your chaos damage poison. Some people even dual wield it with another dagger that makes the poison spread on enemy death. This is pretty expensive
-Lightning to chaos with a bow named voltaxic rift. With either a poison gem or snakebites, your chaos damage can both poison and shock. This is expensive as well but maybe not as much
-Physical poison: you use physical spells or attacks that poison. One of the most popular builds of this type is bladefall trap, which throws traps that deal massive damage and inflict poison, but there are also shit like using the dagger which spreads the poison and using a bear trap with massive single target damage which spreads and multiplies
>STR gives damage % and health
>INT gives energy shield % and mana
>DEX gives accuracy and evasion %
>STR side of the tree gives Resolute Strikes so you don't need accuracy
>Iron Reflexes exist
For what purpose is there to DEX when it gives
>shit survivability that's not Life or ES
>accuracy - implying anyone cares about this, especially when spells can't miss
yeah, well, might be a downside
apparently I heard that LA with chain was applying a lot of hits which means a lot of poison stacks, but I am not sure, I haven't personally tested it.
I just wanted to mention some of the most common poison builds
you arent using rapid decay, you are low level (seeing how your blasphemy has small aoe and low life), 1h+shield isnt a searing touch, and we cant see your jewels but you may not have 50% totem on them
well I didn't get to develop it further, my investment was really low (I wasn't encouraged to buy even a searing touch which is cheap basically because I dropped the build really early), but the problem wasn't really it's damage the problem is that the enemies just move constantly so you have to recast it multiple times to finish a pack.
It wasn't really that bad, it was just not good. I played SWT earlier that league and it was much better.
I just expected it to perform well without much investment like old searing bond, and it did not
>First Uber Atziri kill on HC Talisman
>get to vaal bosses
>exit to log in screen
dunno if you are using EE either since its not seen applied in your screenie, but yeah it takes some investment for it to be good. and then its never really close to the current fotm skills in clear speed
oh wow the standard league finally reaches that point - chaos orb = useless currency. you can't buy shit with chaos, you can only buy shit with ex. people are constantly trying to get rid their shitty chaos for other currencies.
good fucking job bro I only got 1 ex time to RMT
>Guy selling Unique Barrel for the challenge in Global
>Buy for 3c
>Clear it for him as well
>Get Consuming Dark
>standard is bad meme
other than the legacy cancer(because devs forget what does BALANCING means) things are well developed and not a ghost town. and I don't want my shit gone every few months
4 hours for both? How do I do get through so damn fast? It took me a shit ton of time to finish in Merciless, that being said the character that ripped was my first character to ever hit Merciless. (played 2 years ago before i actually got a little bit more serious this time)
And what build is it that you refer to? Really can't make use of the words except for the totems.
does anyone have any general/personal guidelines for pricing shit on hc? played sc for the longest time but i hate how you cant sell decent items after a few weeks in a new league because everyone wants top tier shit
Oh, youre actually new?
4 hours isnt going to be attainable for you until you just get used to leveling. There are a number of tells for zones that tell you what way to go. Youll also need to learn what is worth stopping to kill and exactly what each mob is capable of.
As far as gear goes id put Wanderlust/Goldrim/Tabula Rasa/Lifesprig/Night's Hold Talisman(R or B socket) on the shopping list.
If youre going to level an melee youll need a Limbsplit and a Geofris Baptism. Once you get to the mid 30s I would search for some decent rares of the weapon your build will be using.
For bows you just kinda pick a skill and put on a deaths harp.
That should be a basic overview, if you need more there are a million guides out there about leveling.
How are summoners for Atziri?
Just started one and its pretty fun.
Entering cruel atm, hoping it stays safe long enough.
Duelist area has been changed so many times, will ascendancy finally revive this class?
Its either that or they just buff the rest of the game.
But yeah, some of the trees are completely broken no matter how you look at it.
How is it difficult?
You search for the stats you need, find an item you like and click the whisper button.
If theyre afk or offline you move to the next one, youre only one step away from an auction house.
Why are you justifying the lack of an auction system?
>want to buy a 6l item
>ask some faggot if he is interested in my item plus a couple chaos
>stop playing for weeks
>come back and the faggot still hasn't sold his fucking item for a bajillion exalts
>ask if he is interested
Im not, you said it was stupid difficult and I showed you its only slightly harder than using an auction house.
I actually prefer the auction house system and wish PoE has something similar, but its unlikely Chris will ever cave.
Dont try to trade items.
The last thing that somebody selling an item wants is to have to sell another item to get their profits.
Youre probably the same fucking guy who tries to give me an inventory full of vendor uniques and some gcps/regrets for my items
Spec into Acro and Phase, what would be more reliable against bosses:
Hyrri's Ire + Arctic Armor
Lightning Coil + Purity of Lightning?
The main skill is CA, so pretty easy to try do dodge from hits and slams.
I never understood why people stopped taking Phase Acro. Its probably one of the strongest keystones in the game and youre already right next to it. It also helps smooth out the scariest type of damage for an evasion based character.
Did some streamer decide to not pick it up and then suddenly everyone though it was a pile of shit that should never be picked up?
10 dodge and 30 spelldodge for 4 points is pure preference
when you only have so many points you have to make sacrifices and spell damage can be countered in other ways
phase acro isn't bad or anything but 4 points is a lot
it's coming, dont't worry. I just felt like charges and some jewels were more important. I have atziri step for spell dodge. But yeah, i'm lvl 72 atm, phase acro is right after i finish up the shadow frenzy
What exactly are you using to counter Physical Spell Damage? Even after LC+ToH I still want these nodes, and before those items I consider them mandatory.
I just cant see anything beating 2.5% dodge and 7.5% Spell Dodge per point besides health, and there are only so many health nodes you can pick up in a build.
Does the -50 damage taken from animals really do anything? I accidentally 6-linked a Queen this league and it worked alright, its no Lightning Coil, but I didn't exactly have 20ex lying around for it.
this is what it looks like most of the time, since, as mentioned, iget flask charges all the time
and i kill monsters fast as hell since i move from pack to pack in half a second, so blood rage and frenzys a up always
Mings is the best choice there, but why Apeps Rage? Sure Bladefall has 120% effectiveness and scales well, but spell damage/spell crit is much much stronger especially since you can scale it with mings/hatred
I decided to play it non-crit after playing crit builds for years.
Apeps is actually outperforming an 80% spell 15% cast wand, and its hard to find anything better than that on THC right now.
Whats your BV setup? I'm playing CoC Cyclone and i noticed you had BV up.
Also, if you're not using BV, you should consider BV+CWDT+CoH+Poachers/Warlords Mark.
BV+CWDT+Blind works just as well
If you dropped Apeps for something else, you could probably lose the mana flask and run an Atziris flask which is arguably better for defense, damage/gameplay and utility (chaos res+leech).
Wands can also roll +added X onto spells so think about that.
there are people right now not using darresso's defiance + cwdt + ic + id
I would be using a mana flask then, I only have 39 mana per second.
Bladefall is so retarded I can cut out damage and clear just fine. I also think Vaal Clarity is underrated and you can do some cool things with it.
I have 25 points and 24 refund points.
How would you convert this Flame Totem build or change it into anything. I have enough to spec out of totem shit.
>die in a map
>try to get back to hideout
>failed gto join instance because: disconnected from server
>go to town
>go back to ho
>portals are gone
what the fuck ggg
I'm REALLY drunk and i want to play asgain
last time i played was shortly after the act 4 launch and getting a hc league character with facebreakers and ice smash or whatever to near max level
what should i play right now guys
dont give me some fucking pussy ass flame totem suggestion
I honestly don't care if PoE is dead
I enjoy PoE most when it's global 1 and there's just a small group of dank memers constantly shitposting
Game doesn't need to be too alive for me to shitpost in there desu
also I don't have friends
>Open up a standard character
>Have 60+ remove only tabs
>No easy way to just combine all that shit, or say you only want to keep currency, uniques, and yellow+ maps
Holy fuck how do people play this league, do they just not play anything else?
>trying to act like you only play hardcore
you only have all that shit because you're playing SC leagues that end, and/or you're actually fucking bad at the game and keep dying with huge stashes in HC
Why are you upset? $10 is like 30 mins of work and gets me easily 200x more currency than 30 mins in game would give. It'd be retarded to not do it, you're not retarded are you?
>alt-tabbed to shitpost in AGDQ for a second in act 1 normal caverns hardcore talisman
>came back, died to one fucking squid fuck
I deserved it.
At least I literally didn't do shit on that character yet.
not that guy but if you are going to spend money on a game, why not do so on a game with legit cash shops?
chosing one of the very few f2p game with no cash shop to buy a difficulty knob from a shady vendor makes no little sense. unless thats your thing i guess, to use your $$ to try stay ahead of the curve and make the game easier
Because I enjoy Path of Exile?
Sometimes I want to try a build that requires a retarded expensive item, and I can choose to nolife farm, trade, flip, etc for hours and hours and hope to RNG it, or I can just drop $10 and get the item to enjoy my build. Some people find more enjoyment out of farming for their items for their future builds, I enjoy playing the build.
not even >>127958341 and >>127958382 tbqh but your RMT bullshit does not belong here. You are literally a cancer in the community if you fund those RMT sellers. You encourage them, and give them more reason to spam in chat more and be more cancerous themselves.
Go play a legit P2W game.
Honestly, you're safe just buying it and getting it straight. GGG doesn't actually pay attention to RMT transactions, they don't even care. They never ban spammers for RMT sales in chat either. They legit don't care.
but you dont enjoy path of exile if you pay to skip playing it and make it easier to play
but eh, to each their own. im ok with the challenge the game puts you up to and dont feel like i need a difficulty knob to have fun
I would say ice crash, cyclone and reave are the only skills worth a damn currently
all the other ones are just bad - requires manual targeting, too much moving from mob to mob, or like spooky toss, just an inferior reave
This is just wrong.
Splash skills (like Infernal Blow/Glacial Hammer/Dual Strike etc) are all GOOD. Sweep is top tier, Frost Blades is pretty good. And Lightning Strike is currently pretty crazy.
There is a lot of vairety possible with "melee" skills, people just don't WANT to because ">muh cyclone is the only good skill" mindset.
retards who only copy streamer memebuilds but cant into trade are the ones rmt the most. im not surprised
you are truly retarded or extremely bad at this game if you believe you cant make at least an ex a day, even in chaos equivalence
Yet I, and the small group of friends I play with who all do minimal trading all manage to generate enough exalts to do as we generally please through the leagues every league.
how is it wrong?
skills requiring a manual melee target to hit are all shit for clear speed, and will propably give you carpal tunnel from all that shift holding.
you also have to be in mobs faces nonstop, where in cyclone you can phase directly through AND have stun immunity.
lightning strike is alright until you use it on a shrine/allies cannot be killed pack where your framerate will drop to single digits - not to mention the projectile being stopped by any form of rubble
only tooltip fags who jerk themselves off over their 250k dual strike plays with this shit, and you shouldn't either when spells, especially fire converted to chaos, bladefall, even fucking traps will do the job way faster, easier and on a lower currency budget.
yes, it's practically what you mentioned. Vaal spark linked with spell echo, faster projectiles, pierce, life leech and increased duration. You go LL because you need the damage from PA in order to actually clear shit. Then you use call of the brotherhood to convert 50% of lightning damage to cold in order to freeze and shatter, which generates extra souls with chill of corruption. Then you use two or three sacrificial harvests for more souls.
Basically, it's the fastest clearing build in the game but only for certain maps. It's the build that can clear dried lake faster so it's used to farm it. But it's also the build that can net the higher xp/hour in a party, in which you run maps that are basically linear corridors or stuff like that. I played vspark with a team and we ran gorges, arid lakes, canyons , volcanoes, dry peninsula, plateau and springs. The downside is that the vaalsparker itself is pretty fragile as it sacrifices defenses to maximize the clear speed and the fact that it doesn't work in anything higher than springs
I really want to run PtL with Lightning Strike but cant really make up my mind. I get that I could run Lightning Penetration and make good use of the multiplier. Would also make reflect and leech easier. But is it really worth it to blow two support slots for that?
>skills requiring a manual melee target to hit are all shit for clear speed
They are barely any different from cyclone you dense shit
>leap/whirl into pack, one multistrike hit packs dead
>leap/whirl into next pack
You are delusional if you think cyclone is somehow magically much faster clearing.
>muh slow as balls movespeed while I kill a pack with less aoe reach is better :^)
cyclone IS faster, and also much easier
an actual upclose melee build has too high risk of death because multistrike locks you in place for too long, so stuff like cannibals who all throw their projectiles at once is a high risk factor. you also risk potential stunlock unless you go for unwavering.
if these skills are so top tier as you say, why does almost nobody play them?
when was the last time anyone in this general posted a screen where they weren't just playing fotm stuff?
>because multistrike locks you in place for too long
Fuck off with this tired meme, multistrike locking is like a half a second for most builds. Everyone uses echo and nobody complains about "echo lock".
Cannibals also through their projectiles at range while you run/leap/whirl in, then you kill them before they throw again. Also stunlock fucking RARELY ever happens. I played splash IB to 88 this league and I don't even remember getting fucking stunned once.
>why does almost nobody play them?
I already explained, because people have the "MUH CYCLONE" mindset just like you and have never even tried anything else.
>when was the last time anyone in this general posted a screen where they weren't just playing fotm stuff?
Because people in this general are retarded sheep who have proven time and time again they can't make builds/think for themselves so they just do the same shit over and over/copy streamers.
>when was the last time anyone in this general posted a screen where they weren't just playing fotm stuff?
The possibility this general's attitude could do something with it didn't cross your mind now did it. Every time I tried discussing uncommon interesting builds which I had success with was met with memes and one-liners.
How was it?
Why would I switch from Ice Crash?
Any tree gimmicks you need to take, or plain hp+phys dmg would do?
Any gem gimmicks, or just melee phys+splash+FA+whatevs?
I did it with an Oro's (because I had a 5L one) so I just scaled all the wed/fire damage and ran anger. It was nice because all the fire damage/elemental damage went into also scaling the explosion.
But just doing an absolutely regular no gimmicks phys IB is perfectly fine. Scaling the explosion damage much is pretty irrelevant because you near kill most things with the splash anyway and the eplosion just finishes things off.
you're tinfoil hatting so fucking hard
the skills suck, nobody uses them when racing to 100 in a new league.
I've played tons of builds, melee included, and the risk vs reward just isn't there for it compared to ranged builds.
sure it's fun and it can work, but it will never truly pass the point of mediocre unless chris fucks the balance.
this general does shit on people for doing stuff outside the box, but why?
have you considered it might be because there might be some truth to it and your choices just aren't optimal?
and if you don't care about having an optimal build, why play this game?
D3 has better gameplay but has lobotomized build depth for this exact reason
Mjolnir can and do use pen. Discharge + Arc + Pen would be the best 3 link.
CoC builds don't use all one element and just use good spells for critting. And they all use physical spells now.
Vaal spark is not a single element, its 50/50 cold lightning.
Pure conversion builds that go fully into another penetrable element would still get an increase out of it, chaos conversion builds only don't run it because one doesn't exist.
>the skills suck, nobody uses them when racing to 100 in a new league.
The skills don't suck. The builds people use at the very top of the ladder aren't a pure representation of good or bad.
The "there are only three good builds in the entire game lmao" mindset is literally the worst.
there will always only be a handful of top builds, it's almost impossible to balance everything to the same scale.
it's like this in every other game with that many options and combinations of equipment and powers.
> Discharge + Arc + Pen would be the best 3 link.
Maybe if youre only running Dried Lake on softcore
CoC builds generally are running Mathil's garbage right now, which relies on lightning discharge.
Vaal Spark would still benefit from either Pen, especially cold, but doesn't because it just isn't as good as other supports
>Name a single element build that running pen isn't good for.
>vaal spark would still benefit from either pen
so would literally every skill that does any elemental damage
cyclone with hatred would benefit from cold pen
that doesn't mean it's good you retard
move some more goalposts holy shit
>have you considered it might be because there might be some truth to it and your choices just aren't optimal?
Oh, you are one of those..
I am, actually, playing D3 and Grim Dawn and D2 HC and TQ. And PoE. Because creating builds and looking for synergies is fun. And playing those afterwards is also fun. Like, just fun.
And you are exactly that kind of guy who replies to uncommon builds with oneliners and memes. Thanks, anon, when I think poeg hit the rock bottom it's dedicated posters like you who prove me otherwise.
You're right, Vaal Spark technically isn't a single element
That still leaves 2 very popular builds that don't run Pen simply because it just isnt as good, despite being single element. Usually running LL is what takes Pen's slot
so you think that you just know more and have more experience than most people in this general to disregard all criticism?
and I never replied with a meme or oneliner, genuinely interested in knowing why you think these are good when the vast majority of players disagree with you
yeah, just saying it would be hard to keep up and apply curses before shit gets shattered with a well geared vaal sparker. your best bet would be an ice shot curser like that niceshot guy runs
Vaal spark is only truly efficient if you have other people to pick up your loot and clean up stray shit you didn't kill.
Solo play is only minimal because you have to start yourself off, you have to clear stays and pick up all your own loot.
>when the vast majority of players disagree with you
They vast majority of plays don't disagree, they just do as their told/follow the top listed build guide. The vast majority of people in this fucking thread alone can't even make their own basic builds.
eh you arent talking about a problem inherent or even limited to this gen or game tho
most online games' communities are echo chambers where independent thought is seen as "trolling"
