Welp, l've been trying to do this guide http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji but all the download link have either a 3DS folder or a 3ds folder. Are they supposed to be the same? what about the other files on the FBI rar? do they also go into the cia folder l made in the root of my SD?

Also, after "restoring the corrupted data" on the System Settings, l go into the internet browser but when l try to go to http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php it just stays there, it doesnt open the Hombrew Menu nor does it crash.

NAND is the internal memory of your 3DS, like the hard drive in your computer. All of the system files and firmware are stored on it.

Using hacks, we can create a copy of this NAND on a partition on the SD card used by the 3DS, and then point the 3DS to this to convince it that it's the real NAND. This is called emuNAND. I have installed MHX but when I boot it up it gives me an error message, like the one it gives when it softbricks, and forces me to turn it off
It doesn't give me any errors when I install it, and I installed it with both FBI and then with BBM, with the same results.
Since it's a Japanese game and Paper Jam runs fine, it might be because Cakes doesn't support region free, but NTR does, yet it still gives me the same error.
Could it be a corrupted .cia?

if you can delete fbi off your sd card and have it still work, then it's resident on nand and you'd have to reinject it
if deleting it off the card makes it not load, it's reading from the sd card and you can just update what's on the sd card

Browserhax will always be around for 9.2 and earlier. After the 11th you're C U C K E D on anything later.

You have to use it to install menuhax, then you'll be fine on 10.3 (assuming you never update past that point)

Then I updated the emuNAND's 3DS version to the latest, and my custom blue color I set in MenuHax disappeared.

I could get homebrew launcher working on my 9.9 n3ds because i turned off the console witht he wifi off, turned on the wifi and quickly navigated to the browserhax before the update check got me.

Anybody have any issues updating emunand to 9.5 on a Japanese N3DS?

I got an error midway through it but it didn't brick the emunand or anything. Tried it a second time and it continued to update until another error occurs again saying some particular file caused an error.
I deleted the file causing the problem then tried the update again. It installed about 6 more files and said the update completed successfully. My emunand system settings say i'm on RXE 9.5 or whatever but I don't think it really installed properly. Not seeing any issues though.

10.3 only gets cucked after the 11th, when the easiest, free way to hack goes down. You'll still be fine with a cart hack on 10.3 (OoThax, Cubic Ninja), but nobody really knows what 10.4 will bring or how long it will be for another exploit to be this accessible.

You have to either use rxtools 2.7 or install a modified AGB_FIRM, if I remember correctly.
If they're unlinked, you'll have to install the GBA .cia game to both NANDs. To install it to sysnand just put MiniPasta and FBI in .3dsx fromat in your SD card, launch the HBL from sysnand, launch MiniPasta, get back to the HBL, launch FBI, install the game.

I have rxTools working perfectly with the browser. Boots into emunand and everything. However, when I try to boot from the homebrew menu or CTRbootmanager I just get a black screen. I also can't install FBI, through homwbrew or rxTools.

I've done this on 2 other systems and never had this issue.

Your best bet is probably going to be to find someone near you with a 3ds and have them get it hacked NOW, then buy Oot and have them put the special save file on for you. If you already own a 3ds of some sort you can do that too.

Looks like shit on my n3ds, senpai. The black borders option is okay (and much better ghosting than the DSlite) but the black borders around the screen make it seem even smaller than it actually is, like a weird trick of perception or something.

Anyways maybe it's just because I already had a DS cart and played through most of the games I wanted to. If you haven't yet, a $20 cart is almost certainly worth it.

Apparently the n3ds has a better scaling algorhythm, but it still looks like poo to me. If you're the kind who doesn't mind bilinear filtering on emulators than it will look fine to you. I'm an integer-scale, sharp pixels autist.

When booting cakes there was an option "select patches" I just selected both of those.
I had to get FBI installed on emunand first and that was a bit of an adventure, i could explain that to you if it seems you've fucked up the emunand like i did.

They're all exploits used to get into the homebrew launcher. Menuhax is installed by already having a way into the HBL. Ironhax is as well. Browserhax doesn't. Homebrew lets you run unsigned software, such as emulators.
