I need help, I've been trying to do this for 3 days now. So I boot my n3ds, it auto boots into menuhax and then I choose rxTools and the main screen shows up for less than a second and both screens go black.

sysNAND and emuNAND are unlinked.

I installed menuhax in sysNAND and emuNAND. But i have a problem, sysNAND and emuNAND have always the same trigger mode/key. I want sysNAND menuhax type2 and emuNAND menuhax type1. How can i do that? sysNAND menuhax and emuNAND menuhax are the same? I want to delete menuhax in emuNAND if i cant separate sys and emu trigger mode. I can delete menuhax in emuNAND without problems?

Got my shit set up, booting straight into my emunand with cakes.

Problem is FBI wants to be retarded and is just telling me "Loading file list..." forever when I try to load it up so I can stick the BBM and hbl launcher on my main menu. Is it just scanning my whole sd card or some shit and all I need to do is wait? Or do I need to use another method to install BBM to install other .cia's?

In response to an anon asking me how I'm running FBI "Letting my system go through its whole boot process until I'm sitting at the main menu on my emuNAND, then going into browserhax and selecting homebrewmenu from the purple screen (I think that's ctrbootmanager). From there (on gridlauncher) just starting up FBI."

The reason the xDelta won't work with your .cia is that it's made to work with a very specific version of 1.1 that doesn't exist on the internet anymore. Also xDelta sucks.

Well downgrading worked. I'm on 03DSXL 9.2 now.

What's the best guide to follow to get rxTools firmware? I'd follow the guide in OP (the picture one) but I think it's outdated since it says not to use 3.0 but I read here people saying 3.0 is better now.

So I was the anon who kept getting the invalid signature problem and I figured it out

I was using a 32gb micro sd with an sd adapter to for the enunand. This micro sd wasn't the one that same with the adapter, so I dug up the one that did

I repeated all the same steps I did to get rxTools on this 8gb micro sd and it fucking worked

Either the 32gb wasnt cooperating so well with the adapter or the adapter wouldn't communicate with anything other than the 8gb

Hopefully this can solve any problems that are in a similar boat as I am

To convert a .3dz to .cia... Do I just follow the same steps as if it were a .3ds?

I think OP has a link to the latest nightly. After rxTools 3.0 (I think?) they stopped using rxTools.dat and started launching with code.bin

... meaning you have a super old version of rxTools. However I hear a lot of people manage with 2.6 anyway, so it's really up to you I guess

Quick question about running dsi files,
once you unlinked your sysnand/emunand,

you need to install them on both if you want to run them on emunand,

but can you install them on sysnand and only play them here?

i'm a bit confused by the use of sysnand/emunand,

is emunand mostly used to access the shop (running latest firmware), while sysnand is running at a lowest firmware to easily run hacks?

if you update your sysnand to the latest firmware, can you still install cias, or do you need to flash it back with emuNANDTool?

You can still menuhax and boot rxTools through CTRBootManager, though, and it's probably a better idea anyway

Just a quick question about N3ds. Cakes is recommended for n3ds so i'll install that instead of rxtools, correct? And if i want to update my emunand i need to use the 9.5 firmware files and update via sysupdater when i'm in emunand, correct?
