I have a etrian odyssey 2 untold fafnir US .cia

According to http://3dsdb.com/ that only requires 9.4 firmware so I suppose it should work fine whether it's cryptofixed or not.

Now here's the thing: I also have a .cia with DLC for this game (obviously from US region, too)

I heard using DLC .cia's from out of your region can be problematic, though. What can I do to make that work and what do I have to pay attention to?

Rename your boot.3dsx to HBLL.3dsx

Download CTRBootManager and place its boot.3dsx and .cfg on root.

Assuming you have the right rxtools, you're already done. Otherwise, open your boot.cfg in programmer's notepad like Notepad++ and add/edit this line in around line 25 or so:

Awesome, just remember to get the Homebrew Launcher Loader.cia by yellows8 too. Hold Y while booting it up the first time and let it crash. Then open the payload it generates on your sd root in a text editor, CTRL+F for "boot.3dsx", change it to "HBLL.3dsx" and save the payload.

Every time I try to downgrade everything goes smoothly until the reboot then it gives me this error and I have to start in repair mode.
Taking out the SD doesn't fix it.

SO I'm on my N3DS with 9.2, I'm trying to get updates from the eShop, so I have FMP installed and so, but I get the 007-2404 error. I've read that I have to launch the eShop via HANS through the HBL.

How can I noot into HBL from my emuNAND, if my console coldboots into the bootmanager, and then into rxTools CFW? browserhax doesn't work, since the HBL .3dsx is renamed. Can I get browserhax to launch another file?

Hold Y while booting it up the first time so it downloads the proper payload and saves it to your SD card.

If you're using autoboot, edit that payload in a text editor so "boot.3dsx" is loading your actual Homebrew Launcher.3dsx file. Don't change the length of the filename from 4 characters or it won't work.

It's because HBLL loads boo.3dsx, which is now ctr, which tries to book cakes while in cakes and then just shits itself.

Okay so breakdown. Custom Firmware has been a thing for a while now, that means install something like a custom OS for your 3ds wich can install roms on the menu from the SD card. But the problem was that you could only install it on early version systems, so people who had their 3ds up to the last sys ver couldn't do much. The recent new and explosion is that a new exploit was found that would allow to downgrade to a compatible (for cfw) sys ver.

So what everyone (Including me) been doing is using homebrew to downgrade their systems to compatible firmware (9.2) and installing CFW, to pirate. Since all you need is a console, virtually everyone can downgrade + install cfw

The main problem is that everything is on early stages still, so while everything just works™ it still proves to be rng-based process

Is your boot.3dsx on root still the homebrew launcher (aka the one from the starter pack)? Try deleting any .bin payloads on your root that start with "hblauncher_otherapp..." and try again.

Fuck FBI inject. If you already unlinked your NANDs, extract your EmuNAND with EmuNAND tool and Inject it back into sysnand using gateway launcher

Then use pastacfw on sysnand, browserhax into HBL, then use FBI.3dsx to install FBI.cia to sysnand.

After that, format your EmuNAND again with EMUNAND9 to copy your sysnand over to emunand and format sysnand with the SD card out.

Are you using CTR with Rx2.6? If so, update Rx to 3.0, since CTR works with 3.0. Alternatively (Haven't tried) change the boot.cfg and replace the rx path with

The CIA IDs are wrong. Specifically, USA and JAP are flipped. This will give you 022-2511 errors even if you did everything right.

I dont even know why i keep trying on my N3DS. I downgraded my old tiny screen without any trouble but the new 3ds keeps failing to find cia info or just freezes. I'd prefer my big minisd (only have a 4GB for my old 3ds) and the big screen on the n3ds but really at this point i just want to see success.

How to use saves on rxtools?

So I installed the Fire Emblem IF CIA with what I think is the English patch from 3DSISO with FBI, and it completes successfully, but it doesn't show on the homemenu. Originally a blank icon was in it's place for a second and then vanished. I'm using Cakesfw btw

Yes. Just remember that everytime you exit from system settings on emuNAND, you're being sent back to sysNAND

Is my clock and date supposed to reset everytime I switch from sysnand to emunand? How can I get my shit to stay the same because when I go into system settings it kicks me back to sysnand when I exit then I'm back to wrong time

Im stuck too. Im 9.2 sysNAND 10.3 emuNAND unlinked with rxtools CFW. All i want to do is dont use browser/internet to launch rxtools. Then im following this guide: http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji and i dont understand this step:
