So what have you faggots found while exploring?
>pirate faction can't get mad at me because we're both allied with the feds.
Whenever i interdict people in open they don't text me back and always just try to escape, when all they really have to do to have their life spared is to comply.
Why would you even play open if you dont want any kind of interaction?
When I played in open I expected people to banter first. 9/10 its killing time no banter. 1 time they say something first then its killing time before you can even respond.
Open is shit unless you want to pvp.
>pirate faction pissed because I'm camping RES
>helping controlling faction by farming RES
>they go into boom and eventually expansion
>had to leave because the pirate faction there is starting to hate me
>move to new system
>find out this is where your friends expanded
>they are the pirate faction here
is there some sort of event going on here
or why there's so many players trying to interdict me?
I used it 1.4 when I was smuggling shot from Delhi. The process took about 2hours and the auto docking served its purposes. Never once crashed or destroyed my asp. It's a nice little feature if you are doing long hauls because you can take brakes while it docks
Bad pirates and plain killers poisoned the well.
I never really traded but I have seen pirate youtubes, some of the are quite

If I traded I would never surrender either.

It is so fucking annoying how while bounty hunting you can get a bounty on your head because a stupid ass law or civ ship crashes into you and they end up dying later
Whatever. Better to let myself die and lose that 5,000 bounty and the 320,000 I earned in order to get back to farming the couple mil per hour.
>Lawless system you can just allow authority to interdict you and then shoot them to stop the scanning
>Normal system you have to get lucky with your maneuvers in super cruise and make them slam into a star or risk getting a 70k bounty or losing your shadow deliveries
Well, I don't know about you faggots, but I finally beat the game.
One time, long time ago I entered strong signal in super cruise and inside there was some kind of small fleet.
Since then I haven't encountered stong signals again, or I didn't really look for them. Do they spawn in any particular system, like high population, anarchy etc?
>3 security Anacondas in wing, patrolling

Why aren't you streaming /edg/? If this meme loving fuck can make some money from it why can't you?
This is the neutron star from a distance.
It looked the same from 0.1 Ls.
How does this game fit in Elite universe?
I didn't find him but I scared off a wing of 2 pythons. One combat logged the other accepted his fate.
Nobody interdicted me though, guess they're smart enough to figure I wasn't running cargo in a Vulture.
So the Steam score for this game is pretty shit with people saying it's boring as fuck.
But I love to waste hours just looking at random stuff in Space Engine and other "immersive" stuff.
Is this the game for me?
elite is immersive as fuck. the visuals and the sound design are fantastic. but don;t expect deep, meaningful gameplay. your actions only matter to yourself and DO NOT affect the universe whatsoever. if you can get past that you will have a good time.
There's a billion airless rocks you can land on. Planets with atmospheres are off limits. Nebulas are way outside of inhabited space. You want variety you're gonna get cockblocked.
>not hot space milf
this is one hour of bounty hunting. It's like you hate money..Do you want to be stuck in Robigo forever anon?
can you explain how to do this? what ship and where? I've been doing robigo for a long time and want to try something like that. i haven't touched the power play stuff either so i know literally nothing.
The powerplay overview thing rates each faction by their position. 1-10.
Don't bother. It really does not matter.
Pick space trump or A-something Lavigny Duval because they both give a cash bonus to bounty hunting.
Or if you're some kind of faggot who only wants to be a space trucker, Edmund I think it is gives trading bonuses.
Powerplay is a really fucking pointless "battle" and only worth it for the cash bonuses.
The guy who combat logged was I THINK running some gimmick missile build, because I was constantly getting lockon notices. I guess trying to pair with his buddy who was all lasers.
So he was basically useless.
In a 1 on 1 fight to the death, what ship in this game emerges on top?
>not slaughtering pigs even in lawful systems
Who the fuck cares about the murder bounty for a few K? You were never going to let the station scan you for your cargo in the first place, so they won't be seeing your criminal record either.
>Messier 87 isn't anywhere to be found
>bumming around in an anarchy RES since there are FED and Alliance factions I can collect bountries from
>mfw racking up 500k in the fucking empire and only 100k in system
>interdicted by SA 'conda
>shoot out powerplant, life support
>park on top of his hull, canopy to canopy
>stare the other pilot in the eye through the glass while he slowly suffocates
Elite Dangerous Elite Tip: Yes, you can make the Robigo run in a Hauler.
But for the love of God, don't.
So, i am with a bit of dilema...mainly being:
Should i hunt in Controlled Lavigny RES sites with common reserves [the only ones that is controlled and is not depleted as of right now is common.]
Or bounty hunt in Major reserves, but exploited systems by Lavigny? would the 20% bonus in a common reserve surpass the juicer bounty of a major RES?
Getting the rank 2 bonus when the cycle ends, so for me it appears that Major sites with 50% [since apparently she will be Rank 1 when the cycle ends] with bigger bounties seens more profitable than 70% with a decent one, but i may be wrong and would like some insight of a experienced Lavigny bounty hunter
>accept a bunch of courier missions and smuggling out of 17 drac
>3 of the missions end at the same station
It's been a while since I've been in an empire system, but are the imperial cops faggots like the feds are? Had one jump next to me as I was landing and scan my ship ruining my last 3 million credits.

yeah you can A rate a vette with about 500-600 I think? I forgot how much mine cost. But just make sure go to Li-Yon Rui systems that sell it and you will save about 50mil+ with dat 15% discount. I bought mine at HR 1257 / Jacobi platform. After buying it just jump to Farowalan / Bamford City and you can buy all the Class 8A parts.
Will rank disappear over time? I want to make some good creds with ALD, but then want to head over to the Feds for that corvette.
Also, do the ranks reset on thursday or what gives?
Do I need Empire rank 5 or some other weird standing with ALD?
I've been grinding Robigo, too, since forever and can't take it any more.
Plus I discovered combat is pretty fun with the right gear.
>Plus I discovered combat is pretty fun with the right gear.
why the fuck are spacedads posting here
To quell the autism from time to time.
Only thing I know is the Robigo grind and the thrill it gives
when cashing in rewards
Now that resulted in an A-specced Python for pew pew, which I find fun.
We all know what kind of place the gulag is and what kind of people post on Reddit so I suppose people who are somewhat sane enough or on the fence whether to tolerate that shit have come here despite the Space IRA shit and openly hostile attitude towards helpless retards demanding spoonfeeding.
Also Steam sale. Imagine if we were organised like those reddit faction roleplayers. Imagine if A R C H O N E O N D E L O I N could've become a formidable force. All lost now. All we can do is interdict space dads until they disappear from Open or get us banned for griefing when they whine on the forums
Tried that yesterday twice. You can have +/- 150t cargo hold and can reach 350-370 LY trip without refuel or scooping with safe set up. Not worth it, because one trip is like 30+ jumps.
Just get ASP.
I never understood how griefing is baneble offence in games. Player should be able to do what he wants as long as he's not tempering with software, cheating. If anyone to fault for griefing it would be the devs because they've allowed it with their game mechanics
I enjoyed making 33+ jumps.
I don't like the fact that I did.
This is me doing Robigo run in a Python, took me 3.5 hours not counting the time it took me to get all the missions. Made 48mil
The AI in this game is so fucking retarded
>Ayy you are an eagle with 2 empty cargo slots, but lemme interdict you anyway for your juicy cargo
>OMG theres a mining ship with 55 limpets of cargo, we absolutely have to interdict him, and then as teleport to his exact position wherever he drops out so he has to reset at a station
>Okey this guy is doing a mission for our rival, lets meet up with him and offer him a counterdeal which is -80% profit for him, that will totally get him on our side!
Wow, man, you are literally glowing with VISION.
Quick question. how the fuck You guys deal with Authority interdictions? I dont have problems with the long voyage evasion ("hug the sun and 3,2,1,) but in the destination systems the are unbearable. I tried dodging them, but bot APS and Python are so slow heap of junk that my interdiction evasionis success is like 30%. after that i know all the tricks like hardpoint deplyoment kill process etc, but those fags alwys get me after 4-5 th destination port. Is there anything more that I should know, or I just have to git gud?
and what will you do if hot fuzz is interdicting you 10 seconds after fsd so you never can reach the outpost after numerous restarts?
Or better yet, when they follow you to a fuckin outpost?
I'm a bit confused
If I'm not doing rares what's the actual point of running a big trade route/loop rather than just trading between a few places or taking the best trade from station to station?
Alright cunts, I'm in Tamar now. If I don't see a charity mission I will
Normally, an A-rated Asp can sustain boost until FSD is recharged easily. Boosting when SCAN DETECTED usually gets you out of scanner range. If you want some extra security that the scan doesn't go through, target the SysAuthority and deploy hardpoints, that will have him cease the scan as well.
If all else fails, kill process.
Also when smuggling into a station, make sure you drop out of SC right in front of the station, this can be done by facing it directly, with the planet it orbits at your back.
I forgot to mention reloading took more than 15 minutes. If we exclude this, that should be 7.5m/h without soul crushing grind. Keep in mind that ALD/Hudson pledges make twice the amount.
>If anyone to fault for griefing it would be the devs because they've allowed it with their game mechanics
I have to agree. Games without rules work brilliantly if you play with people that you know.
Put strangers into the mix, and suddenly you will find people like me for example, who genuinely enjoy to put up traps for other players, may it be by the use of the environment or by playing an ambush-style character. It's not because I'm a sadist or hate people. People like >>127758683 are notorious for misunderstanding why people like me do this. The truth is, we do it for the kick. When you engage another player and don't know what you are dealing with, you feel an addicting rush of adrenaline. And you want that rush again, and again. It gets weaker the more experienced you get, but until then you have tons of experience with pvp now and don't care about doing anything else anymore.
Griefing in a video game is like calling your sister a name she hates. She gets all mad, you have a quick laugh. She might remember it forever, for you it was just another moment of sibling love.
Always ask yourself: Why are you the griefed one, and not them?
You want me to weekly grind pp so I can then autistily kill mobs mmo style for far less money then Robigo, which is bs, but at least gives you decent profit ?
No thanks, I already have a job, I dont need another one in a fuckin video game.
This. Look at EVE, even fucking chat scamming is allowed there, and its amazing. If you dont have bad game mechanics but mechanics that support it (as in, you cant kill absolute beginners with your endgame ship etc etc) its one of the best things games can over.
Look, nigger. Let's say that dude got all those missions in only 30 minutes, which makes 4 hours. That obviously excludes time he spent on his way there.
Now, what I said was 7.5m/h, potentially twice, riskless and something actually fun.
What would you choose? Something soul crushing and extremely risky because NPC's don't give a single shit about silent running or something actually fun
Extremely Risky makes it more
After 4xx hours in this game whenever I see a RES or haz-RES I wanna vomit. also,
> something actually fun
> in E:D
Are we playing the same game?
Help /edg/. I accidently sold my old shield generator and now I can't buy a new one because my Hull Mass isnt good. The problem is, my current mass is 245T, and everything I have on the ship doesnt weight more than 4T, so Id need to get rid of almost everything to get into the 138T range.
Not the same "dude" but you can make close to 18 mln/h with a decent fitted ASP.
If you evade all interdictions or submit and run, and you're able to consistently run into the mailbox without getting scanned you're up for mad dosh.
It's not even frustrating after a while and you don't need to farm a faction.
Also i personally find RES farming boring because you have to get the right instance to do anything and i don't find killing npcs any more fun than being chased by spess dindus.
I could make more in shorter time. I was only entrepreneur so the really good ones were locked to me. I got to Tycoon and now I'll only pick 5mil+ missions that wants you to transport 60-100t. It will be way more efficient
Word. I was with Asp, Anaconda and 200 million two weeks ago. Put in 2-3 hours a day. Now have A-rated corvette, Trader outfitted cutter and Exploration fitted Anaconda. And have 300 million for insurance.
Robigo put me over the top and now I can drop the game until something interesting happens.
Or maybe I'll join the Great Autism Expedition on the 14th.
According to that the website about 2 stations I went to should have had the module.
The weird thing is im 100% sure I had a class 3 generator before, how else could I had a shield the whole time until I sold the thing?
I dont know desu... I dont know.
I just want to have cash for my bullshit fun builds in which I hunt dads / noobs. This aint cheap, y'know.
And there is my autistic friend who has corvette, That triggers me a little and i want my cutter to fly it for like a day and leave that shit game until next "expansion"
For me I enjoy space trucking while listening to streams and shit. But there is something else.. sometimes when I smuggle my brains out I fantasize how one day Barben will actually do something amazing with this game and it will be all over IGN, gamespot, machinima you name it and all my friends will rush to play this amazing game but everything will be nerfed and they will be poor as shit and I'll be chilling with my billions looking down on them. That is my dream, what keeps me going.
>mwf tired of grinding Robigo
How did you get creds together for your A-rated conda/vette?
Your dream, although beautiful is a lie and you know it.
Braben is a visionary, but he is stuck with a bunch of 40 yo clappers-wannabe-game-devs who will praise his every decision, which obscure his ideas and make him thing he is all knowing.. They all treat that game like an old car, which they want to restore, but the problem is (using that metaphor):
1. They are shit at making cars
2. They used to drive last time 30 years ago and many of them think that if the original Ford was the best car idea ever made and adding automatic transmission or air conditioning will ruin the car.
I'll be waiting for Scam Citizen until then. Maybe they will somehow deliver
let the man dream ;_;
I want to trade my Vulture for an >Asp and do Robigo run but the idea of supercruising for hours on end might kill me. I didn't leave flight sims for this.
>I never understood how griefing is baneble offence in games.
It's not always possible to use purely software rules to build the game your primary audience wants to play.
Wolves among the sheep shouldn't be surprised that the shepard tries to remove them.
I've hit a bit of a ceiling doing bounty hunting. I'm only able to make around 2.1 mil per HAZRES run before enemies stop spawning. I feel like there are ways to get bigger bounties out there. Anyone have suggestions?
>Or maybe I'll join the Great Autism Expedition on the 14th.
lets be autist together anon
It's always that fat Anaconda
It's always when things get serious when everybody's exchanging bullets and lasers
sup /edg/, "salesbaby" here.
im going around bounty hunting and smuggling on the side, i just want some pro tips for combat.
i do alright most of the time but want some tips on positioning.
usually i use downward thrusters, pitch up, slowdown or reverse then boost after them to keep them circling me while i get shots on the topside of their hull. its not perfect most of the time and i only manage to get a few seconds of solid fire before they out manoeuvre me, not enough to get shots off but enough for to stop me having decent LoS.
im in a viper
>Great Autism Expedition on the 14th.
Learn how to fly with flight assist off and when it is in your best interest to turn it off. This is space, you can fly in any fucking direction at full speed if you know what you are doing.
a fleet of 500 players is going to take an exploration trip to the other side of the galaxy, with shit like waypoints, base camps and logistics, there is a possibility that this thing will be
I might get in on it, Is there a discussion thread on it?
I've not been doing Robigo for long but already I feel dead inside and start playing other games more and more.
>Bunch of dads go on massive exploration hop
>Many are lost to the rabid jaws of the /edg/ community
>Some make it through
>It was enough
>They make it into deep, uncharted space
>Encounter new faction
>ITS THE FUCKING THARGOIDS!
>Dads kick the literal hornets nest.
>Thargoids engage on massive war front, invading all of the known systems
>It's a massacre. Braben put them out there because he wasn't ready for them to be unleashed yet
>The vision goes dark as the chittering horde devours all of humanity
>Braben an heroes as he watches the swarm overtake his vision.
>Elite Dangerous is killed by the forum dads who swore to its greatness.
It will be fucking beautiful.
No no, you're pretty much a bad human being as far as video games go. Everything you just described is pretty indicative of it. "Why are you the grief one, and not them?" as if the world is divided up between those two camps. You might not be fully developed emotionally anon. Try not to let it worry you.
Considering the way the stations are designed. The central areas of the stations (where you land) would be loading/unloading/industrial areas. Most of your residential and commercial areas would likely fall into the outer areas of the station where the simulated gravity from centrifugal force would be most effective.
I just ask because I remember my time in the Empire being nice and not being interdicted once. Meanwhile the feds interdict me x times in a row if they think I got some slaves on board.
I'm fine with cute little thargoid on pleiades
>head out to Robigo
>the way there is absolutely dead, no signs of life
>pick up missions at Robigo and head back
>every star system has 2-7 contacts
>under constant DDoS attack from NPC's telling me that they'll pay me 10 credits for the slaves in my hold
>constant interdiction attempts, at one point three interdiction immediately one after the other while evading them
>some times when submitting/failed interdiction mini game, all five NPC's show up (sometimes ok if there's a mix of pirates and security, so they can fight each other)
>one time submitted to interdiction only for a FDS to drop out IMMEDIATELY in front of me, meaning that I crashed into him with no chance to even try to evade
>interdicted by shieldless Eagle out in the middle of nowhere immediately after arriving into the system, interdiction immediately pulls me into the star's gravity, two System Security show up and scan me before they even think to attack the Eagle pirate
I'm a salefag, so still pretty new/poor. When's the soonest I can get out of this retarded Robigo farming and still actually be able to farm something close to comparable?.. how much dosh do I need for like, mining/trading/bounty hunting to be close to as profitable as this retarded immersion breaking and full of bullshit smuggling?
It's too bad, because I wanted to be a smuggler even before knowing about Robigo... but smuggling seems to be the most half assed aspect of the game the devs did.
>accept smuggling mission
>the fucking station I need to drop my dope off at is fucking 750,000 ls from the entry point
going out to Pleiades to get myself a qt thargoid gf
Has anyone ever found the minerals required for the premium FSD injection, such as Arsenic or Polonium?
I have never seen them in pristine metal rich belts so I assume they are in other types of belts, but what kind of?
Smuggling makes more money in the short term. Bounty Hunting makes more money in the long term. Unfortunately I don't want to wait 5 weeks to get a 50 million bonus every week.
But yeah, you just described the absolutely terrible system + RNG this game throws at its players. Last I checked, smuggling is all about stealth, not meeting the cops every five fucking minutes and FD doesn't understand that.
Well this is the weirdest encounter I have seen in this game so far.
I want what this guy is smoking
It amuses me to no end how fucked all the missions are in this game.

I'm a really that cheap? 400 credits???
Balancing consistency? What type of company do you think Fdev is? They don't have time for that kind of nonsense! They have a Vision to Visionate! They have a random number generator for shit like that.
it appears to be a screenshot of the horizons standalone expansion pack for the popular space sim Elite Dangerous. The screenshot is of a player in an SRV on a boring world because its unfinished and kind of shit
i'm currently in a type-6 doing trades and i'm looking to upgrade ships. i saw the upgrade guide said a keelback would be the next step, but i'd be losing cargo space.
should i just wait for a larger ship? or is it better to switch to a vulture and start bounty hunting?
I am going to go through the dev diaries and list all of their bullshit and call them out on the forums
wish me luck
YOU WILL BE FINALLY FREE
>he thinks it will ever come out
Well fucking great, I was trading in a type 9 and just got murdered by an npc in a FDL from another powerplay faction. Had enough money for insurance, but now have no money for trading.
Guess I'm doing shitty missions until I can actually afford to buy anything.
>get near station
>wing of 4 elite players in corvettes starts attacking me
>THIS SYSTEM IS UNDER BLOCKADE
At least they didn't kill me when I asked them not to, I think thats more autistic though
Escapism from their horrible middle aged family life and job which leads to:
Denial that the game is a fucking broken mess which leads to:
Hostility towards everyone who questions the Vision™
Most forum users are aggressively defensive of the game their forum represents. I think the only ones who are are Warthunder.
You get in a wing with someone. I don't know if a smuggling run will give any benefits though, trading does.
Bloody hell, every other entry in the system bar 2 is conflict zones and checkpoints
I make fun of the Imperials, but I want a Cutter now
Sitting in a Viper MkIII and working on some RES farms. I'm at 12 million and my initial goal was to wait for 60mil and buy a Python... but I feel like I need an upgrade along the way.
Should I get something different or just keep saving up for Python?
Yeah it's obviously scripted but I just wish they at least kept it to populated systems
Authorities chasing down smugglers is cool
Authorities being in every fucking unpopulated system a smuggler might move through isn't
Its kind of cool for the unpopulated systems that are a jump or two from a populated system as if its an anti-smuggling taskforce or something but in buttfuck nowhere its dumb
Now I feel sad, remembering the sense of wonder playing through Freespace 2 the first time. Getting lost in the fog while your sensors are shitting themselves or shooting down capship missiles to save your own carrier.
what if this is Thargoid activity?
maybe the malfunctions actually replicate the station using some wibbly-woobly magic?
or maybe they're so uncompetent that they cant fix something after almost 4 months.
Pick them up. If they're illegal, dump them, if not, take them to a station and sell them. Unless you're an edgelord then pick them up regardless and sell them on the black market.
I haven't seen a space station actually in the planet's ring before, but I've seen a few stations that had their orbit ring pass through... so presumably at some point they would be right in the middle of the ring.
jesus christ I literally can't go for 10 seconds without them saying something that was never in the game
Better to have them die right?
You are making an encyclopedia of broken promises did you not know?
They're in cryosleep, they can sit there for 1000 years and be fine and the pods have a beacon on so rescue one will eventually turn up.
What do you think the slave trading criminal underworld does with people in a tin?
I'm aware its just a game but its fun to rp a bit
When will the game let you walk around in your ship, and have a waifu/husbando to share some quality time with for those long exploration missions? If I'm going hundreds of light years away from civilization, I want a fuckable co-pilot.
It wouldn't make sense that you were killing people, they're in cryosleep and tbqh I'd rather die in cryosleep than be a non-imperial slave. its probably kinder to just put a few rounds into them incase rescue one never turns up.
You're being harsh on non imperial slavery aka free slavery. I think that is a little unfair anon. Slavers are kind people.
Free slavery is actually a good deal.
Many pilots' are tired of a life of grind and misery. Simply look at this thread. They can trade that for a great a rather generous opportunity of free unregistered slavery. You don't even have to sign your name anon. No paperwork. No tedious thinking for yourself. No failed ambitions and tedious grind towards monetary dreams. You won't need a cent. You'll be given food and board and a task to do. What more can you ask for anon? If you're troubled by your negative thoughts, worry no longer, you'll be kept busy with you assigned task. You'll meet plenty of people, yet won't have to or be allowed to speak to any of them. Such an opportunity anon!
And instead you would rather die in you sleep in the cold void of space? That's troubling friend. I think you should head down to your nearest black market and click the button that says I WANT TO SELL MYSELF INTO SLAVERY. That's it, that's all you have to do anon. And you too can experience a life without money problems or failed ambitions.
Alternatively if you can't find a black market you can request the clear save gang take all your worldly possessions. They live in the options menu. And will offer you a new lease on life, free you from your worldly burdens.
Positivity anon. You need it.
am i missing out on anything, /edg/? I have played 56 hours in this game, I've done some discovery with the 1.5m scanner, which is a comfy and easy way to earn money, and Ive been doing that in an eagle, and I also have been hauling/smuggling in a different ship I have for cargo. What else is there to do other than the bounty missions? Am I missing something or playing wrong?
Oh well, thanks for the replies anyway. Is it meant to be a part of Horizons?
Yeah the functionality in rebirth would be ideal, just in a game that wasn't a giant stinking turd
>Is it meant to be a part of Horizons?
Yes, it's slated to come out as part of the updates included with Horizons among other things. I have a feeling they're just going to wait till the last minute, half ass it, then start charging us all over again for FPS module
