How is everyone enjoying the weeks of waifus so far?
CUTIE THE BOMB
MET HER AT A BEAUTY SALON
WITH A BABY LOUIS VUITTON UNDER HER UNDERARM
It's a new ability skillset, like Dance or Thief.
The starting abilities (coming with the Palom and Porom event) will be
-4* Dark Raid (dark-elemental physical attack on a single target, also increases the user's ATK by 30% and decreases the user's DEF by 30%, buff is its own ID so it stacks with others)
-5* Bloody Cross (inflicts damage on the user and deals 2x dark-elemental physical attacks on a single target)
Two more abilities come with the Kuja event:
-4* Memento Mori (inflicts Doom on the caster, self-buffs MAG and deals a dark-elemental magic attack on a single target)
-5* Negative Aura (deals two dark-elemental magic attacks on a single target, power is boosted if user is under Doom status (standard cast is 3.0x the potency of Fire, boosted cast is 6.9x the potency)
Kuja's a 5* Darkness user, of course, but a bunch of other characters will get updated, too (all of these have 5* Darkness - I've listed them in game synergy order):
Dark Knight Cecil
BOUGHT MORE JEWELRY
MORE LOUIS V
MY MOMMA COULDNT GET THRU TO ME
Is it that bad? I'm just afraid of the jewgles
>mfw, my Light folder is only 300 images big
Mmm so what do i waste my time with that's ff related?
Most of my light webbums on my laptop, only pics on phone
How about ff4? Worth it?
I got this from the daily draw. I thought it was impossible.
RK. You have some catching up to do, but the game doesn't make it too difficult to do that. You barely missed a "catch up" event that would have net you quite a few missing characters and such.
I would play and see how you like it. Post here if you need help!
And keep up the Light posting, senpai.
Thanks anon! I'm scared though, scared for Exdeath, he's looming. Waiting, waiting to void all the Lightnings
Any Chance I can get lightning in ffrk soon or do i have to do story dungeons?
she's only 2 weeks away! i think by that event every XIII character will be available. anyway, you can pick her up and have a chance at getting her best weapon yet.
Starting to download FFXII international, and I just remembered the Zodiac spear thing, I looked it up, and apparently, there are no "forbidden chests" in FFXII international... is there any bullshit I should be wary of?
Whoa, I'm gonna go get now and get started! I absolutely love FF13, although it wouldn't hurt to have some other chars on my team
Don't tell me she still doesn't look nice
still waiting on exdeath
OTP united tomorrow when best boy finally released!
I wish there were people that looked like this that
were more lewd
The only lewd cosplayers out there are fat disgusting tattooed women that aren't attractive at all. Crying shame.
Starting out, you may not realize that the way the system is set up, Balthier is the slowest at using guns, and Fran is the slowest at using bows.
There's nothing tangible you can permanently miss. There ARE a bunch of scenes you can miss by not going places/talking to people before doing other events, and lots of alternate scenes, but none of that really affects your game.
The ONE thing I can see that you could miss out on is a subquest reward (that is still a rare drop/steal if you miss it)
-becomes available after getting Dawn Shard
-complete the first events in Nalbina BEFORE you reach Mosphoran Highwaste
-if you don't complete the first events in Nalbina, quest is "lost" after you defeat the boss of Mt Bur-Omisace, meaning you also fail in two scenes associated with the quest (one scene in Nalbina, the other in Archades)
-can complete it after you gain access to Archades
-the reward for quest is Salamand Halcyon, which you can otherwise get from Salamand Entite (steal or drop)
Salamand Halycon is a Bazaar item you need to trade in for a Late-model Rifle (Arcturus).
They removed a lot of the bullshit for IZJS. You can even control guests and espers now. Spawning chests requires 1 screen zoning, instead of 3. You can buy all the gambits right away if you want. Quickenings dont use up all of your MP anymore. No damage limit...
...and my personal favorite change is the L1 speed boost. what a godsend.
Does anyone know if the sprite sheet for adult Rydia has been leaked? I remember reading a long time ago that it was available, but I can't find it.
I'm planning on trying out the model switching thing and as Rydia is my best mage (due to Quistis whip being the only mage weapon I have) I would like to model change her to her adult version. My artistic skill is below zero so I very much doubt that I'm capable of creating a sprite sheet on my own.
Where we're you exdeath? You were late, I missed you.
I'm sorta worried about choosing mismatched classes now... If I try to go with what seems thematically appropriate, (eg, Vaan as a thief, Penelo a... white mage? etc.) will I lock myself out of learning certain abilities? Is that what it means when you say someone can only learn one job? Or do you mean they can only apply the benefits of one license grid at a time each?
If they get only one class the entire game, is there advice on which class is best for each character?
So I haven't seen anyone mention the fact that the new dungeon update in FFRK includes Thief.
I guess the anon who wanted to make an 8-Bit Theater party in FFRK isn't around anymore, but now all the necessary characters are out.
They get one job for the whole game and can't switch. Going with thematically appropriate classes is not a great idea if you care about optimization, but it doesn't make the game unplayable.
The best class for each character depends on how you want to play the game and what you expect from each character. I can tell you that Machinist and Time Mage are among the weaker classes in the game overall and that Red Mage, Samurai, Monk, and White Mage are the strongest in the game.
The biggest thing is probably just not choosing two of the same class, because the way it's set up, characters that share the same job board will have to compete for Esper licenses (because only one character in the same job can access the Esper section at a time).
Everybody has some licenses they'll always have, regardless of the job you pick.
Swords 2- Basch, Ashe
Bows 1- Fran
Guns 1- Balthier
Daggers 1- Vaan, Penelo
Shields 1- Basch, Ashe

White Magicks 1- Fran, Ashe, Penelo
Black Magicks 1- Fran
Steal- Vaan, Balthier, Fran

The twelve jobs and their Zodiac sign are:
Aries - White Mage - Focused on Rods and White Magick.

Gemini - Machinist - Focused on Guns and Measures.
Cancer - Red Mage - Focused on Maces, and various Magick types, with exclusive access to Arcane Magicks.
Leo - Knight - Focused on Swords and Greatswords.
Virgo - Monk - Focused on Poles and capable of barehanded combat.
Libra - Time Mage - Focused on Crossbows and Time Magicks.
Scorpio - Breaker - Focused on Axes, Hammers and Hand-bombs.
Sagittarius - Archer - Focused on Bows and Technicks.
Capricorn - Black Mage - Focused on Staves and Black Magicks.
Aquarius - Samurai - Focused on Katana.
Pisces - Hunter - Focused on Daggers and Ninja Swords.
I can't believe you are actually playing a Final Fantasy game and you didn't even post about it in the general. Shut these ded thread doomsayers up.
Yunalesca was pretty easy. Did it one try.
Does anyone still play fe4r?
What is your favorite track so far?
My favorite disc 1 song is "holding my thoughts in my heart / dear to the heart"
Cloudy D isn't SSS tier.
You're not completely out of luck; the blank memory crystals + memory crystal 2s start appearing with the Chamber of the Abyss events that start after the Jecht event (by Japan's order) - that's like around 10 events or so from now.
So if you can beat ~110, 120 level dungeons by then, you've got a shot at using that for Cecil.
How do I get kids aged 8-14 to be interested in Final Fantasy if they have never played a RPG before? I remember feeling incredibly intrigued and curious about RPGs when I was that age, but I don't know how to stimulate that kind of interest in other people, especially kids used to playing minecraft and random online and mobile games. I let them borrow my PS and FF7 to play it over winter break but they returned it having not even played to the point where you fight Guard Scorpion.
I managed to overlook Edward's appearance in this and picked him as one of my 4 free characters (I'm trying to at least have all the roster unlocked). I should have gotten Firion instead, but oh well, I'll wait the long months for the next II event.
Like 94. I need to clear out my classic/elite backlog.
152/0, been slacking on the new DU. I hate that they released it literally after a Sunday so we can't abuse the 150 4/5 refresh, not to mention that they made it the worst possible cap for refresh-hungry fags, which is 1/5.
Fuck you DeNA.
146. Lots of IX, VIII elites left to do, but I've completed all of I, II, V, VI +XII (except recent dungeon update elites), and XIII. Is the gear checks in IV Dark Bahamut and Ogopogo? I've got Ogopogo and Plague Horrors left there - the Subterrene is a scary ass place.
Pic related. Initial attack before I could act damage from Bahamut.
Gear check for me is the last 3 Elites for me. I just have minimal IV Gear to mitigate stuff and/or do damage. Hoping for a good sword that can be earned in this Rosa/Edge event tomorrow. At the very least realm synergy heals will help.
He'll bounce all his buffs onto you with reflect on himself. You can slow him too if you want. The only challenge is going to be the doom counter if you have real bad gear. But even then, you can reflect one party member and bounce spells if you're mage oriented.
I haven't fought him yet (I'm just about to unlock the normal version of the stage), but someone here yesterday said the elite version doesn't have break resistance like he did in the event.
On classic plague horror, it only cast shell/haste/protect repeatedly. It has a different moveset on elite? I just cleared it on classic, so I'll get the elite out of the way now if reflect and blind is all I need to get through it.
When I first got into FF I was pretty young. I was already into nerdy stuff, both fantasy stuff like LotR, and sci-fi stuff like Star Trek; so when I realized FF was combining elements of both, (robots and time travel in FF1, aliens in FF4, and so on) that really made the series stand out and I became a fan.
But like someone else already said, some people just aren't into the fantasy stuff or RPG gameplay. Different people like different things.
I do think as far as younger kids go, FFIV is a good game to go with. It's got a relatively straight forward plot that's easy to follow, but it still hits good emotional points, betrayal, redemption, romance that doesn't get too mushy. It's a good story for kids who are young enough not to recognize the cliches. Later games (VI, VII and beyond) seem more written with teenagers in mind.
XIII never really had a chance for something like that. Lightning Returns is really the only time she would have ever had a chance to sit down and relax.
The flashbacks XIII did have were just 13 days before, and Lightning was too preoccupied with Serah & Snow's engagement while working with the GC to do much else, despite Amodar's warnings. But yeah, I'd have lke to have seen it too. In particular for me is my fascination with the architecture & interior designs of cocoon & Academia.
They fucked up her butt in LR, pic related.
Does anyone really use Construct 8 when by this point in the game, Ramza/Agrias and nearly all the special units before him can tear things down with ease?
Regardless, name my new beepboop for me, Contruct 8 is a boring name, and I think I'll just regulate him to being a random encounter janitor.
Was half expecting
Gato or Lightning
I've made it my mission to make use every special character in the game this time, so far only Malak hasn't seen any use.
Boco has given birth to so many high level sacks of EXP for my generics to use when they get left behind, so he's found his use
77th eternal reminder that Terra is best girl
But you can LITERALLY find a Garula roaming on the world map, where they just run away after a couple of turns. Garula are a peaceful species who wouldn't harm a fly, they're just trying to eat grass and getting their lives on track!
Clearly the crystal possesed the poor animal and caused him to kill everyone. Garulas are INNOCENT!
Fuck you guys, I'm getting our resident online ace attorneys over at /aog/ to bring justice to Garula.
How much mythril are YOU spending for Lightning's SSB anon?
Experiment with the classes and find combos that work
Spellblade+Rapid Fire is a good one but its more endgame like
Kill someone off early so people level differently, this will let you get Level 5 Death as a blue mage
Rods can be broken to cast -ga tier spells which can carry you throughout the earlygame, though be advised its a bit expensive and cheesy
Garulas do nothing wrong
Everything I can scrape together for that banner. With Planet Protector and Lightning Steel equipped, that SSB will hit like a truck and I've even got Blazefire Saber for those lightning resistant bosses.
you fuckers weren't kidding about the no ass thing holy fuck
Why does type-0 have such quality qts? There isn't one bad egg in the bunch. Compare it to any other FF game and there's always some shitty girls mixed in with the good ones.
Continuing my Final Fantasy odyssey- I had a hard time finding leads again after the volcano. Turned out an NPC that was sleeping before woke up and talked about a cave to the north. It was the only place I could see nearby on the map that I could get by ship anyway. Though there were two caves, but the first was boss statue-guarded.
Then I really had to wander. None of the nearby NPCs seemed to care that I had this stone, even if they talked about it. It was back in the elf town with the sages I had already forgotten that said they'd have something to say later who told me to go back to the desert.
Kind of just want the player to wander around, I guess; it was a conspicuous spot I hadn't been that I could reach, but there weren't any glowing map points. Oh well, then I went flying and found the new places I could reach (a lot of stuff way out from where I can park) and talked to dragons and got a rat tail and POWERED UP. Seemed like a good place for a break.
Lots of NES era RPGs were vague with the whole "telling you where to go next" thing. From the mention of "boss statue-guarded" caves, I assume you're playing the remake. In the remake they added a feature that if you go back to the first city and talk to that dancer by the fountain, she tells you what to do next.
Yeah, the PSP one
Bought it and II years back on discount, figured I'd finally play them
I'm okay with vague hints, and it's kind of Metroid-ish in structure because I can generally just go where the game will actually let me go with new toys and that's good enough, I just prefer not to have to backtrack so far to find the proper dialogues. I'd have thought the circle of sages would have something more to say after the boss, for instance.
I wanna get this game, the demo was great...
But I don't have 50 bucks to put up upfront in order to play
The subscription...I could deal with
Is it worth saving a few months to get this game? How is the community? Haven't interacted much during my free trial
so /ffg/, hypothetical situation:
>DeNA changes Lucky Draws so you can draw up to five times per banner
only the first draw can be done with Mythril
>how much the DeNA VIP membership increases overnight
>average spendings of any given redditor
how many of you faggots will actually fall for this
There's only three versions of the game that use the daily charge system instead of the MP pool:
Original NES version
Wonderswan Color version
PS1 is best because it fixed the bugs in the NES version and WSC was never released in English.
There's (technically) 5 versions with the charge magic system of FFI: Famicom, MSX2, NES, Wonderswan Color, and PS1.
Not much is different between Famicom and NES, other than space limitation on names dictating changes in English and some religious censorship.
MSX2 has an expanded color palette and remixed music to take advantage of the MSX2's greater amount of channels. A number of gameplay tweaks; Monk deals less barehanded damage, enemy map positions altered slightly, shop prices changed.
Wonderswan Color is the basis of all further remakes: the look and feel of the game was brought up more in line with 16-bit games, and Nobuo Uematsu both rearranged the music and composed new tracks (boss music!) Enemies rebalanced (added HP everywhere) to work better with the quality of life changes.
PS1 further refines the Wonderswan Color: more rearrangements to take advantage of the CD audio quality, graphics slightly more high-res, bestiary function added, and an easy mode thrown in, too. All further ports are based on the Easy Mode difficulty (basically, shops are cheaper, experience is faster, party skillgain rate is increased)
Basically the PS1 version in Origins is your top-of-the-line for the magic charges system.
GBA added 4 bonus dungeons with new enemies, items, and bosses from other games, and changed the magic to the MP system.
PSP Anniversary Edition redrew all the sprites to be high-res, kept the bonus dungeons, and added 1 more bonus endgame dungeon.
Mobile versions are based on Anniversary, with touch controls and new bugs. I think Android doesn't have the bonus dungeons.
There's a 3DS port of Anniversary Edition with added 3D effects that came out with Explorers in Japan.
[in Serah voice] we have to change the future....to change the past
big anime tiddies
but no I really like her in general, she's very sweet and I like her a lot
i didn't want to shit the thread up, I spend a lot of time in /ffxivg/ and /smtg/ (or used to with the latter) and stuff like that was generally frowned upon
uhhh I'm not sure! i'm trying not to click links or look up stuff related to the game to avoid spoilers (i knew the obvious one but not much else about the plot), I do really like the boss theme and J-E-N-O-V-A which has played once so far
i do really like the music that plays when sephiroth shows up, it has this real sense of unease and dread to it
but yeah, I'm in the caves right now, I'm hoping to beat this by my birthday maybe (the 9th) since I start college up the next Monday
I'm thinking about playing XI next? Do we have a confirmed date for the steam port? I don't like emulating because I always lose my save data (this has happened with VI and I was halfway through the damn game)
>just barely hanging on during this boss fight
>finally Limit Break
>immediately die afterwards
Ok, I'm fighting JENOVA for the third(?) time now? Is it ever going to be explained why this thing keeps popping up? Nobody seems to mention it yet. I mean, don't tell me what it is, I just want to know if it gets explained later.
Also, the entire time I'm playing this I'm wondering how they're going to tackle some of these areas in the remake.
Also I'm guessing that Sephiroth AND Cloud are both clones of the original JENOVA and it's some weird Les Enfants Terribles type deal where Cloud has some set of genes or something
On several separate occasions I've played FFXIII up chapter 12 or 13 and I always end up having to stop for different reasons. I want to played FFXIII-2 and Lightning Returns. Would it be okay to try to watch the rest of XIII and then buy the other 2 on Steam? Or does the PC version of XIII have anything that could make it go by faster? I want to see it through to the end but I've seen the first few chapters to that game sooooooooooooooooooo many times.
Reluctant to keep thread alive.
The drill being a spear was already silly, but the Chainsaw takes the cake. It's more a sword than it is a lance.
If they decided that Edgar shouldn't be a Dragoon, I see no reason why they keep making all weapons lances when he can equip swords perfectly.
Does FF have the best music of a franchise/series of games? The only ones I can think that come close would be Castlevania and possibly Mario.
or some kind of porn productionwhen?
Looks like a hash of both characters
Cause she's waifu jesus
That's what i meant LuminaAnon, but why did she make you so?
She is but she's also a container for Lightning's memories of Serah or something along those lines. At any rate, Lightning and Hope have a discussion at one point about how she looks like a younger Serah so canonically she's supposed to look like her.
There's just something about her mannerisms and facial expression that does it for me.
Really hope it's fun. Playing the demo long long ago on PS3 was enjoyable. The story I don't really expect much from after XIII-2.
But you're the one who wants to keep the thread alive. Why would you want to do that if you don't see any value in the thread to begin with? Just so you can use it as your personal slow, inconvenient and often inaccurate search engine?
Good job avoiding the question. You just want a place to feel special and have other people do shit for you because you're too much of a lazy little shit to look things up yourself.
We may get this when the games age enough to warrant a remaster.
I really wish I picked up that white PS controller they sold when XIII or XIII-2 was released. That shit was tight.
>the first encounter I get with my robot pal iis the monk encounter
>have had to reset 3 times because they can sandbag long enough for someone to crystalize from getting gangbanged
IS IT STILL WORTH
STOP ARGUING AMONGST YOURSELF AND HELP AAAAAAA
I thought the
arrange for FFV's boss theme sounded nice
>I really wish I picked up that white PS controller they sold when XIII or XIII-2 was released. That shit was tight.
Oh fuck I wasn't aware there was a white controller. I'll have to eBay that shit.
XIII is my favorite FF game.
Exploring towns isn't particularly fun though. I'm sure the remake will have some nice things in it but the more they disclose the worse it seems. Episodic? Featuring elements of the extended universe? Using a modified version of XV's battle system? No thanks.
Episodic is the only one I'll give you. What little we've seen of the battle system looks fine, and we don't know how much of the EU they'll use. Maybe there'll be CC flashbacks with Zack's death or Zack/Aerith interactions. Maybe there'll just be textual nods to what else has happened. We. Don't. Know.
Had to reset and bring a different team
I want those Monk crystals dammit
7 episodes like how how 13 had 13 chapters :^) Though I hope they make it so each disc is each episode at the very least
>1 disc 1 episode
That's what I've been saying, but no one's been listening. Cut things here in there like Aerith's death being the actual end of the Episode, but it works.
Some people just want to hate the game once they hear something that may possibly suck.
So she can put all of existence into her snatch
She simply has a domination fetish
XI friends, what are you doing in game? What are your goals?
Who wouldn't be when their heart is filled with a love for Moogles,,
Who's rules of propriety are you using to determine that? As far as I'm concerned attractive females should always show as much skin as possible. I say it would be improper for them to cover up those mid-drifts, like censoring a great work of art.
Who loves moogles more,
Serah or Terra?
Snow deserves it.
Yeah, I was worried she was a spy or something with the way she was acting but I like her even more now.
Also, was Reeve = Cait Sith? I didn't pick up on that.
Also, what level should I be for the Turks fight in ShinRa? They took me down pretty fast even though I'm level 45.
kek. git gud.
Or more seriously: http://youtu.be/Qkni-rOxVEc
You need to focus down one Turk, usually Elena. They have some badass items to steal, too, if you have the chance. Setup back row, apply sadness to your characters, and cast big guard or wall. Attack with your best magic. They are all vulnerable to poison as well.
>bosses that require you to bring a specific character to get 3 medals
But Rikku a shit.
Yea I went there, nerds.
I actually beat them right after I posted that.
I'm just trying to figure out how to advance. I looked up a walkthrough that said Cloud should automatically start climbing up the rafters, but he's not doing anything.
You don't think I'm on to you, furry fag? Your Mog and Red XIII have been at those levels for weeks. I suspect you don't even use your "best" party, but rather post this beast party for the express purpose of continuing a completely dumb meme.
You are wrong, I just want Frans memory crystal 2 along with the proper soul breaks
Reminder that another Tier-1 girl is coming to FFRK in a little over an hour
Better avoid footjobs with her
She's a qt, here's a thick one
78th eternal reminder that Terra is best girl
I finally went and bought this game on NA
So, what server is the most populated and
I don't mind if there's ERPers or whatever,
I just want to play on a server where I can make friends
>Rosa is such an unpopular character she's just included in Edge's event as an afterthought.
They easily could have built an event around her being kidnapped and rescued, but nope. Edge's parents and the Rubicant fight, that's the memorable arc of FFIV. She's not even difficult to get, she's on the third stage, difficulty 11. Right after the two starter characters that are literally in dungeons everyone cleared in their first hour playing the game.
Even her soul break is useless. Oh look, another another Raise ability in a game where everyone just S/Ls if a character dies.
>Core characters get synergy in every dungeon.
>Core characters earn job points that unlock higher ranks of each ability type.
>Spend points teaching named characters ability types and honing ranks.
Let's be fair, dude's a legend but he's crippled now
The ninja scrolls are weak except for the sleep one we get for Yuffie's event. Scatter Blossom is good, though. I'd assume the same for the one we get later on this event as well.
I got it for like 8$ and spent maybe an hour playing it.
Really? I used Tyro using the thunder scroll for Omega and he was hitting for about 7K each time. Seemed good to me. Weakness, sure, but no synergy.
The big other thing about them is that they ignore the RES stat and Reflect, and Omega had a high RES even if Lightning is the weakness. Plus they cast faster than regular spells.
>implying Auron doesn't have the best dick in the entire FF series
That's the best part about her, bro. A "pure", virginal bitch isn't gonna put out: either she doesn't know what sex is, or she thinks it's some horribly immoral thing. Even if you take a "pure" girl to the altar and sign your life and half your shit away to her whims, you'll need to work hard to get it from her, and you'll only get it when she wants a baby, and she won't do what you really want her to. You pretty much have to turn a pure girl into a slut, or at least into your slut, to actually get anything but grief out of it. A slut, though? A slut will blow you on the first date, let you take her pussy on the third, let you fuck her ass on the fourth, and after that you'll get to do all sorts of freaky shit to her slutty body and she'll love it as much as you do.
