You know, maybe this is just my own misconception, but I feel a lot of musicians who just play instruments but never try to come up with anything are in kind of a collective lie or being lied to about it being hard. As a result they end up not having the braveness to even start learning or trying.
It's been observed that more times you listen to a song the better it will sound to you. You can't get enough of it eventually until you know it extremely thoroughly. That's why everyone else's work sounds great, but if you try to come up with something it doesn't. But what I've learned the hard way, when you're creating it's almost impossible to tell what people will like and what they will not. Only thing you can tell is if you can make something sound good to yourself - and that works just by putting a note after another and seeing if you like it or not.
For arranging music to piano, you just kinda take the most prominent parts of the melody, depending on the complexity and then put that melody into the range where you can play it. You do this bar by bar until you're finished. Simple, but often effective.

Mettaton stopped trying to kill Frisk of his own accord when Frisk showed him how much everyone cared about him. He gave Frisk encouragement and a smile before his batteries ran out.
Asgore did not at any point stop trying to kill Frisk of his own accord, and completely removed the option for Frisk to end the fight non-violently. He was only stopped by his ex throwing a fireball in his face.
Asgore showed up in the final showdown because, once again, he simply happened to be there. Frisk hadn't had the chance to get to know him and was never shown getting it, the absolute most that can happen is accepting his offer to give you tea. And even then, it's entirely up to the player if Frisk accepts - Asgore is the ONLY one of the main six that the player isn't required to be on good terms with for the true ending, they can refuse his tea and his job-offer if they want, whereas the player is forced to wind up befriending Mettaton (who shows up on the friend-screen at the end) to get it.

Also, being able to see all the errors in your work is really good and you need to realize this. If you don't see them, you'll never be able to squander them and will just be stuck with them forever no matter how hard you try to be good and appealing with your work.

I'd still argue that Toriel gets shafted the most in terms of character, Asgore at least gets a ton of build up and you get a really solid idea of his emotional state when you fight him. Toriel is just kinda there and then not thought about until the very end of the game where she shows up out of nowhere.

All this information is available online. Just ear like that actually means you're talented to this. It's exceptional rather than regular. Educate yourself on what is scale, root note and how they tie in with chord progression and you'll be able to actually employ those talents. You're probably not interested in music just by a chance.
For the record, chord progression is nothing more than a bunch of chords slapped one after another that sounded good and then looped. If you start creating stuff, you'll quickly notice that it's easy to get interesting results by breaking away from that loop every now and then before going back to it. For basic pop song, you'll usually have two chord progressions.
Melody is just notes in specific rhythm in the scale your song goes in that are in harmony with the chord currently being played. If the last sounds hard, don't worry. Your ears will tell you when it gets dissonant instead of harmonic.

Got a granddad's Casio. Liked playing Final Fantasy VII-IX. Searched online for music related to it. Found midis. The site that hosted midis also hosted piano sheet music to almost every piece.
Wanted to play. Asked mom how to read sheet music. Through sheer willpower(read: stubbornness) slowly transcribed what it meant into what to press on the keyboard. Started with right hand, but left hand in Don't Be Afraid was simple enough and started practicing with ambidexterity.
Started going to piano lessons. Found a MIDI-notation software I could arrange more game music I liked into piano sheet music.
Tried making something of my own with the notation tool. Sounded like shit. Tried downloading game midis, changed some instruments around, found a cool midi-MP3 soft(several, actually) that made all the instruments sound like awesome instead. Started looking into how music is produced by professionals.

Forgiveness doesn't always bring peace, especially when it isn't sincere. There are some cases where a person is entirely entitled to hold a grudge, such as having the kids they'd tried to take care of killed by someone. Asgore had his reasons for doing it, but Toriel also has her reasons for drawing the line that she did. There's nothing psychotic about it, it's natural for someone who's hurt and angry to resent someone else who made them that way, even if their own behavior wasn't flawless. And even if the other person is hurt too.
Still, Toriel seems to at least calm down a little regarding Asgore. In the TP ending we see him trimming hedges outside her school, while Toby said that begrudging pity was the most she could ever feel for him again, it's still better than outright disgust. I'm quietly optimistic for the happiness of both goat-parents, even if I think a true friendship or romance is out of the question.

Tracing pictures mainly help you learn line weight for images that have it. If you wanna imitate style or parts of it you're better off eyeballing the image.

Learn anatomy.
You can do this by getting an anatomy book and learning what shapes to use when sketching out figures.
Also, you can do life drawing - if you aren't happy with people watching, you can get photos online.
Don't worry about copying things exactly, I think starting off by learning what shapes to use to make up figures is a good starting point, then you can begin fleshing it out.
You want to do this to understand anatomy better. Even if you want to draw cartoons, an understanding of anatomy is important!

Second, draw basic 3D shapes. It's the most solid foundation you could have. Basically everything in drawing revolves around knowing how to draw and see 3D shapes.
Head on down to a craft store and pick up some styrofoam shapes. Arrange them on a table and practice drawing them from different angles.
Also read Fun With a Pencil by Andrew Loomis, it's a commonly recommended beginner book.Personally Figure Drawing For All It's Worth, also by Loomis, stuck with me more and made me see art in a new light. It talks about a little bit about art philosophy and really helped me out. I didn't like Fun With a Pencil because it has you draw ugly characters in the beginning, and I didn't have fun doing that.
