Life is Strange is an episodic interactive drama from DONTNOD Entertainment. Set in the Pacific Northwest in the town of Arcadia Bay, the player follows the story of Maxine Caulfield and her seemingly newfound ability to turn back time. At the prestigious Blackwell Academy, Max must prepare with Chloe Price for the incoming storm of returning to her hometown after five years. Available on Steam, PSN and Xbox Live.

Before Episode 5's release:
>Lol Mari's theories're shitty. It's way more than shitty to become true
>Chloe has to die thing doesn't make sense.Don't worry they will come with unpredictable story
>We're gonna learn everything about Max's powers,Rachel and Prescotts even Nathan, spirit animals..
>Jefferson knows about Max's powers
>Nathan,Frank,David or Samuel's gonna save us
>Victoria's with Max,she'll save her
>(After seeing Cemetery scene from leaks) I'm sure it'll be Williams,Rachel's or Kate's grave.
>Rachel's the doe and Butterfly and probably we'll see her in Max's dream
>Blue Jay's Chloe
After Episode 5's release:
>Mari's shitty cliche theory became right
>We visited the SF art gallery for 3 seconds. FOR 3 DAMN SECONDS
>Jefferson became a silly bad guy from Disney
>David came to save us.He's a former-soldier but he can't even fight, just listens teenager's orders. Even he doesn't know she has some time travel powers.
>Victoria's with us in the dark room.Laying there and we can talk her or not.Just it.
>Nathan get killed,Victoria too
>Nathan knew something about the storm but they cut it.
>Warren explained Max's powers(!) (thanks warryn) We found out her power causes/related with Chaos Theory and storm. It's not like we didn't know or something.
>Storm is only coming for Bay because Chloe lives in there but Max's the one who keep changes the time
>Prescotts story erased.Nobody even mention their name.
>Rachel's story fucked too.She isn't doe,or butterfly,bluejay or even shit.
>Spirit animals thing died.Blue Butterfly's Chloe just it.
>Chloe dies again in one of endings (unpredictable) It gives you a lesson: You shouldn't have used your power. And you shouldn't play this game. Now erase your choices and cry like a bitch.
>Chloe has to die thing comes true, Cemetery scene explained with that.
>The other ending's short but it's less cliché than other. We saved Chloe, storm's hit the town and gone. That's it.
>Epilogue: Use ur imaginations:)muh budget
>I ship it more than Warren and Max
That is horrifying. Never post it again.
The desperate wish for some new content related to the game that is worth while, or at least not bad.
Even though I prefer Pricefield I think Life is Triangular is pretty good. I dunno if anyone here is working on anything else, I doubt it, but I can hope.
The game takes more than three hours. That's about one episode. All depends on how much you rewind conversations or just walk around examining everything, which I assume is what most people did.
And we have a general because we want to talk about the game, characters, and share stuff we find. It's not breaking any rules and Life is Strange threads are usually met with hostility on /v/ (Then again, anything is met with hostility there).
So here we are.
This game fucked me up so bad and now I can't even escape it, I work at a videogame store and the trailer for the game plays every 10 minutes.
It doesn't matter if it started in bathroom or not, that anon in previous thread was right, as long as Max has the memories and knowledge of that week, nothing ended. She will never behave like her original self would and because of that her actions might lead to countless Chloe situations in future.
Maybe if they established that Max's power is gone after Chloe dies. But they don't, and in every other timeline Max kept them (Even if that timeline's Max never had them). So Max will either cause some other disaster by using her power intentionally or not (Using information or doing something) or she will go back and save Chloe. Either because she realizes she can't go on like that or because she causes another storm and realizes that sooner or later it will happen.
Let's say Max and Chloe never go to the junkyard into the obvious trap.
Do you think Jefferson would get away with pinning it on Nathan?
Perhaps initially. But unless Jefferson completely destroys the Dark Room and its contents, they Police will figure out it's Jefferson.
The photos from Rachel's binder are clearly not by Nathan because he's in some of them and I don't think the cameras used have a timer. Plus there's his final message on Max's phone where he's clearly distressed and mentions Jefferson is coming to kill him. Plus whatever data David gathered.
I think that would be enough to suspect Jefferson and start an investigation.
It may take a while to put the pieces together but he will be caught.
It's messed up that if Max hadn't taken that photo of the butterfly at exactly that moment, there would have been no way to go back and undo everything.
The tornado really would have arrived regardless and the best Max could do would be to warn as many people as possible whilst keeping Chloe and herself alive.
>Max's feelings are very obvious
Yes they are.
Yeah that's true, I wonder how Nathan comes to the conclusion that Jefferson is going to kill him. I doubt Mark tells him.
Everybody should have a Max of their own. It's not fair.
No, even if Max had NO power anymore, nothing ended as long as she has her memories and will act on them.
For example if she pursues a friendship with Victoria it will make Victoria's and her own life go on an entirely different course than original Max's that would never associate with her. A course that could lead anywhere. And it's just one person.
Yeah that was exactly my point:
Game's logic(!) says ''universe doesn't try to kill Chloe but you've changed biggest thing. are you ready for pay for this and accept your choices or are you gonna be forget all of this?'' . What about the tornado? That's the another problem. She gained this power in the bathroom, to save her. (we have no other explanation other than this ''magick tornado'' or Rachel's revenge) in the end you have to choose between:
Bay ending: You shouldn't have used your power in the first place. Accept this and let her die. But the biggest fail about this ending even she saved town in theory, but Max knows everything her existence will keep continue to change small things. And then small changes'll grow and...
fuck the logic just use imagination:)
Bae ending: If you want to keep someone you love; alive you have to accept your own decisions. You've changed things in the bathroom so you have to pay your due. After storm hit the town, Universe's balance will be restored and Chloe granted alive. What'll happen next? it's up to your imagination:)
Problem is ''this game;endings have no logic''. Even devs couldn't tell what did they originally intend. As you can see what happened in this game. Also ,we didn't have any 'certain' explanation about tornado, Max's powers... So it leading us to ''both endings are literally shit''. If there was a logic, then we wouldn't get those ''muh drama'' endings.
Had Chloe just died there, Max would have learned a lesson to not be scared of keeping in contact with people and Jefferson would get what was coming to him once Nathan confessed.
But instead somone/something decides to fuck with Max makes and makes her save someone she cares about, without even trying to or realizing who it is, and then punishes her for it. Then to top it off she gets a vision of something bad happening only to realize she's the supposed cause of it.
That is some straight up Tzeentch fuckery right there.
>''what's the lesson of the story?''
Michel : It was with you all along :)
Nathan probably told Jefferson that he saw Max and Chloe in the dorms and that his phone was gone from behind the couch.
I would not put it past Jefferson, considering what we saw in Ep 5, for him to outright call Nathan and be like "Yeah, you fucked up for the last time. I'm coming to kill you."
Or maybe be told Nathan to meet him in the Junkyard to help hide Rachel or something, and then shot him when he got there.
There aren't many people here that's aren't bitter, drive newfriends away, and just copypasta the same stuff.
Someone who lurked a bit before posting.
It seems like plebit is where you go to say.
Pricefield is the best. This game effected me like no game has before. I can't watch Bay ending. A bloo bloo bloo.
4chan seems like where you go to complain about the ending, complain about the writing, Pricefield is still preferred and you can rustle people easily with any warren post.
Max with glasses is cuter than usual.
Yeah yeah I know, wrong ending, follow Max's true feelings, blah blah blah
And this guy. I dunno if he's the same "Its's a chaos theory Max!" worst_dialogue.gif copy pasta.
I guess I am new enough to hope for some gem among the rough.
the 'all my posts look like they went through google translate' guy just has a bunch of copypasta responses, but he's been around since way before the finale and you just get used to it
>This is a player choice. Obviously she's entirely enamored with Chloe, but whether that love is platonic or not is dependent on what the player chooses
No, the player choice is forcing her to ignore these feelings and not act on them if anything.
>She's clearly attracted to men because at the start she's attracted to Jefferson and Warren
Thanks for bringing that shit into this thread. Now the already garbage new thread can get significantly worse with a new retarded argument taking a wet shit all over it. Fuck you.
There's plenty gems! In the last thread Max turned into people's underwear, for example.
...There has been great discussion and opinions being shared throughout, but we can't keep regurgitating that. Go through the archives if you want to go gem-hunting.
And then there's still a few things to hold on to (like the LE) for a little fresh breeze as far as that goes. But aside from that you either find something in these threads right now that you consider worthwhile coming back for - or you don't and don't come back. A lot of people did leave already.
May good art and fan-fiction continue to stumble its' way here.
I don't think there will be a shortage of art and fics any time soon. At least I hope not.
Although I try to avoid posting too much because when every post has an image attached you reached the 250 limit quickly.
I don't get why Hiro doesn't up the image limit to the same as the bump limit. Maybe it makes the pages load slower or something.
I still love this pic
Even though I always think they're making out in the middle on a crosswalk. While angry motorists honk at them.
>thinks Max's a blank RPG character
>'canonically' she doesn't interest in Warryn
>although she still sees same nightmare
>her mind's,inner thoughts full of Chloe whatever you do
I pride myself in having posted a considerable chunk of art both that gets always reposted here and consistently new pieces as well. I stopped really exposing myself to tumblr some time back though and now only really pick up on new stuff through secondary sources or blogs I know do a pretty good job of being selective. I still browse tumblr for the Vicky tags, but those are essentially dead anyway.
Fortunately recently some other anons, primarily scriptanon, have started to post fresh stuff too. I'm not sure if we are missing out any great art though. Some popular stuff like the yuriandtea thing that you posted I think people here actually browse for and occasionally even post, but I'm sure there's plenty of especially Pricefield art that vanishes in the depths of tumblr and does not end up here. Then again, tumblr art is very repetitive and dull by now anyway...
Oh, it's funny. But I think you picked the wrong expression for her. That's her Costanza face. You have to take something more cheeky than that, a little devious laugh maybe. And you could have taken a pic of Chloe in her actual underwear, you know.
But I'm still glad you took the time to make it.
Too bad Max burns that picture she used to go to the past and save William. Imagine if Chloe got to go back, by holding onto Max, and got a chance to say goodbye to her dad.
It wouldn't change anything, but it might give Chloe some comfort that she gave him a proper farewell.
Here's a crosswalk-less version.
I know it's supposed to be her pelvis but the contour where Chloe's tanktop rides up always puts me off at first glance.
And it's transparent. Nice.
>Nik Shriner played the game on livestream shortly after Ep5 was released (not sure if he played the full game like this, or just Ep5)
He SAID he might do that on twitter, but I don't recall him ever posting an actual link or anything to suggest he followed through.
But if he did, I'll fucking kill myself if I missed it so LINK PLEASE
But if you look at it this way, arguments about endings always same.
because of newfags probably
>'all my posts look like they went through google translate'
Yeah also sorry for that. I'm spanish
Jesus christ, that must be fucking torture. I remember someone posted the trailer a few days after episode 5 murdered everyone, and it was so fucking painful to watch all that wasted potential and promise.
Excited is the wrong word. Desperately grabbing onto anything we think can somehow be something that can be considered new content.
Primarily what most look forward to with the LE is concept art (yeah right) and the dev commentary which we hope reveals some more visions and deals with at least some of the plethora of questions there still are.
Heh I was gonna ask where you were from.
Do you have a favorite moment in the game anymore?
Or is there only disappointment left?
>waiting for concept art/artbook
>waiting for OSTs >>127402534
>waiting for shitty commentary
okay you want a physical copy for collection.
but buying Limited edition, was just like ''eheh thank you for fooled us :) '' to me.
>Do you have a favorite moment in the game anymore?
I've never said that 'i didn't like this game.' But still, I'm just mad at them because they fucked up with that endings. This game didn't deserve that.
>Or is there only disappointment left?
After Episode 5, yeah.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to 2015's BEST GAL PALS AWARD GALA!
>I can't watch Bay ending. A bloo bloo bloo.
>Yeah yeah I know, wrong ending, follow Max's true feelings, blah blah blah
i kinda wanna punch you in the mouth
There's nothing lewd about dancing
Thanks cute Chasefield posters! I love you!
They are best...
Me too, anon.
I wish Chloe was actually like that instead of a skinny punk...
Love you too, Maximum Victory anon. :)
> A bloo bloo bloo.
Just curious. In the end what did you choose?
I choose Bae, I think most of the community that is left chose Bae since that ending has little to no closure. I could always be wrong
I mean I know there are Bay people that are around and want to spread the word about how good the art direction is, and how well the actors did and such.
Most people who are left would rather have seen episode 5 end in a completely different, non-shit way. Bae is just the lesser of two evils when confronted with that choice.
I'm pretty salty about Bay because it gets the kiss that should have been a big fucking iconic moment in the game. Like, damn, it's an epic french kiss between two female characters on a cliff in front of a super-tornado, and it's restricted to like 30% of players.
Some people have edited the kiss into the save Chloe ending. Now all I need is someone to add in Renderanon's ending to that and we have the most satisfying ending we can get out of what was provided.
Although I still wish it didn't all come down to that idiotic binary choice. I wanted to meet Rachel and see an ending where Max figured out how to solve the storm and keep Chloe safe.
>an ending where Max figured out how to solve the storm and keep Chloe safe.
I wonder if that'd be manageable with some clever editing incorporating footage from both endings, other points in the game, new creations using the models and shit, and imply the story through visuals to get around no voice acting.
Lot of work, of course. Personally, I'm resigned to my imagination:), these endings don't even deserve fixing.
It's 55% on ps4, don't know if it's different on other platforms.
Having them making-out on the cliff while the town is being destroyed and then driving out of town would have been bad taste. They could have added in something else as epilogue, but apparently budget wouldn't allow. Realistically, any sort of epilogue would need to be relatively complex to show both their love for each other but also their need to work through the trauma of what happened. It was probably just too much for them to work with, so they just implied all of that rather than showing it.
Well someone created a custom map that you can play. And all the models and resources exist or can be downloaded.
If someone or a group was dedicated enough they could create a third ending and just use text instead of spoken lines. Or do what the endings did already and just use facial expressions and actions to communicate.
But I don't think anyone is crazy enough to do that without getting paid.
>It's 55% on ps4, don't know if it's different on other platforms.
Not everyone who picks Bay gets the kiss though, only people who went along with a certain amount of Chloe's bullshit.
I don't think anyone would have had a problem if Max tore up the photo and them immediately kissed Chloe. It would be spontaneous enough to not seem in bad taste and show what Max was picking.
Now if they were kissing while driving through the ruins of Arcadia Bay, then that would see bad.
There are plenty of ways they could have contextualised a Bae ending kiss without it seeming in bad taste. It doesn't have to be a triumphant "isn't this great? fuck those guys" makeout, it can simply be a "this is so fucking awful and I'm reaching out to the person I clearly love more than anything in the world for comfort". The Bay kiss is perfectly tragic and not in poor taste at all despite the morbid context, there's no reason a Bae kiss couldn't have done the same thing.
The way those two behave with each other in the Bae ending, after all the people Max has allowed to die for Chloe's sake, is just lazy as fuck, and I buy it about as much as I buy Max's dead-eyed smile at Chloe's funeral.
I don't know I think a lot of people would, there are quite a number of people who already complain that bae ending is callous because they just drive off without trying to help or look for survivors, if they had just been making-out on top of that it would just be more fuel for that argument.
I don't get what people assume they were supposed to do. They're just two girls.
If buildings are collapsed they do not have the power to go through them, searching for bodies is just going to traumatize them more.
And since there's probably no cell phone service, driving out of town would allow them to tell others what happened and get help to the town.
>The way those two behave with each other in the Bae ending, after all the people Max has allowed to die for Chloe's sake, is just lazy as fuck
Absolutey this. In the context of their "comfy indie slow-pace atmosphere" title they have continously throughout neglected the emotional impact and drasticality of it all (finding Rachel's grave was a great fucking scene, as was the truck meltdown to a certain degree - where is more of that?! They even cut Chloe's Frank-rant out, and this is only Chloe; where is Max's emotionality?) and I had hoped that was exactly what we were going to get in the final Episode. Not only did we not get a proper breakdown (the nightmare was supposed to be that I guess, but it just doesn't work emotionally as that, let alone the Vortex focus), we didn't even in the end get that. Max ripping the photo and leaning into Chloe is too lame. To be fair a kiss is not appropriate in my mind either, because emotionally Max would definitely be looking for support in that moment, looking to hold on to Chloe, make sure Chloe is safe and with her in this reality. So she should first, I dunno, crash into Chloe and cling onto her clothes and then a fading shot could be used to show her slowly leaning out and bringing their lips together too.
People have outlined ways in which the endings could be so much more hopeful, that they didn't at least get these hopeless endings right cinematographically just adds insult to injury. Plus, and I find the "queerbaiting" accusation ridiculous, the BAE ending leaves people with blue balls/clits. That's just fucking cruel.
I never said I just wanted the kiss in the Bae ending, just that it was a waste to have as great a visual moment as that in a sea of shit.
That said, this shit about it being in 'bad taste' is bullshit. Max kisses her before tearing the photo up as an affirmation for her love for her, and from that decides 'yes, this is what I'm doing, I'm keeping her safe no matter what'
I'll admit to that. I'm not a native, and while I do think to have a considerably above-average vocabulary, utilizing that doesn't come as easy in fluently reading or writing.
There's no way it's 'bullshit'. Saying that it would be insensitive to have them making out while the town is being destroyed is a perfectly reasonable argument. The only reason it's not a problem at all in the Bay ending is because it's a goodbye kiss and she's going to save the town.
Is it disputable? Sure, it's disputable, you could probably argue reasonably that a kiss would have been okay if done carefully. But it's not bullshit. They probably just wanted to avoid the potential that it would make Max and Chloe look bad, I see nothing wrong with that, aside from it's disappointing we didn't get a kiss.
>I dislike something
>I'm going to intentionally go into a thread about it and complain
You belong in a garbage can.
Finished this turd last night.
>all those choices
>boils down to 2 endings
Worse than Mass Effect 3.
The coolest thing in the whole game was the reference to how shit the bottle puzzle was.
Why does this "game" justify having a general again?
>They probably just wanted to avoid the potential that it would make Max and Chloe look bad, I see nothing wrong with that, aside from it's disappointing we didn't get a kiss.
The reason its bullshit is that they tiptoe around this 'inappropriateness' like Max /asked/ for a magic tornado to destroy the town. Max and Chloe are victims of DONTNOD's tragedy-lust as much as anyone.
>7 billion people in the world played this AIDS in digital format
You're over estimating a little bit, don't you think? Also 28 posters and 186 posts? Are you people fucking serious? Literally the saddest 4chins 'community' I have come across, excluding bronies. Just kill yourselves, please.
You are welcome to fuck off anytime breh
if you don't like it here why eve post? surely you have something better to be doing, I mean you're cool aren't you? You visit better threads right? Fuck off they're waiting for you
perhaps we not so smart - at least if you look at the average; retardanons are dragging that down quiet a bit I'm afraid. You most certainly are, significantly so.
Btw.: I was just showing them how little of a percentage of the people in the world are in this thread, and how big a percentage of people in that thread they themselves account for, and inviting them to think about what that means for the implication of their involvement here. If you needed that explained.
Hopefully the cuteposting calms everyone down.
Would you have tea with Kate, /lesg/?
This thread is made of postings and feels.
Don't use big words like "Implication", they are too big for your little brain.
Also don't tryhard and string out exceedingly long sentences like a 14 year old faggot who has just discovered creative writing 101.
tl;dr: Fuck off, retard
I took you for smart enough to realize not replying was the right play here. And apparently you are, but that saging shit won't fly. Not least because saging isn't actually a thing here. You replied, you lose.
I can see how someone like you would think that 2 sentences can be considered too lengthy a reading matter.
Calm down angry anon. Why can't we be friends?
>you will never watch a video of AU kickboxer vicky thrash warren
I wonder if when time travel is finally invented and euthanasia is no longer controversial, people will get to It's A Wonderful Life themselves away instead of committing suicide. I mean, it's not like I gave anyone permission to create me, what about my rights? Maybe I don't have the right to inflict the pain of my death on everyone around me, but if I was never born they'd be none the wiser, it's a win-win.
I think Ashly sucks with her high, squeaky anime type voices in general. Her lower, more natural voice is great though. I've heard she's doing the main character in Horizon, though not sure if that's just speculation. If it is her, it sounds great, she nails that kind of role.
What are your New Year's resolutions?
I think Alt. Chloe was cute. Even though it was tragic.
That cements that the universe/ god is cruel and should be defied by Max in whatever way possible.
Chloe's options are either spend a good portion of her life miserable and pissed off after William dies. And an original fate of dying in a school bathroom, alone, thinking nobody loved her.
Or have both her parents alive, as they are consumed by debt, and she is unable to do nearly anything as her body just deteriorates. And then she will either die with her parents in the room at best, or at worst alone during a night.
There is absolutely no justice. I'm glad I got the chance to save Chloe and give her the chance to have a proper life where she can be happy. At least I wasn't forced to let her die.
Most people love this game. There are only a handful of shitposters in this thread and a few retards on /v/ who shout "SJW" simply because Chloe has blue hair.
>I mean, besides the lacklustre and rather inconclusive ending, the rest is simply stellar.
That's the reason.
Something that was so amazing has no right to end so badly. It's not simply that the ending wasn't great, it's that it rendered all the brilliant parts wasted potential.
Something that starts out lacklustre but ends brilliantly can be remembered more fondly than it might have been, because not only does it end on a high note but it exceeded expectations. Vice versa, the opposite is true.
My guess is, they are either really restrained with budget issues, and couldn't do a proper conclusion, or they just wanted an 'open-ended' ending, and let the player decide for themselves.
Whatever it is, I'm not satisfied with it, it seems like those stupid anime scenes whereby they just show you picture stills for you to understand the scenario.
That's why we need an episode 6, a epilogue. Something to conclude things better. Or better yet, a free roam mode whereby Max can go around interacting with whatever that is left, whether be it rubble or clueless people who have no idea what just happened in that week.
Even the ending is not that bad, it's just not what a lot of people wanted I guess. I played the game after it was fully released just blind, without ever following any fan theories or anything at all, and the bae ending felt a little short, and I don't really care about the moral dilemma of the trolley problem, but otherwise it didn't really bother me. If I had been expecting all these grand theories to play out with the Prescotts and Rachel sending the tornado and whatnot then I don't know, maybe I would have been more disappointed. But then again, to me it was really just a story about two friends, the time travel plot always struck me as kind of superfluous.
>That's why we need an episode 6, a epilogue. Something to conclude things better. Or better yet, a free roam mode whereby Max can go around interacting with whatever that is left, whether be it rubble or clueless people who have no idea what just happened in that week.
That sounds pretty cool. Like a slice of life intractable scene, kinda like the courtyard, where the player has some simple objective that will end the game ('Press X to pay respects', 'Press X to leave Arcadia Bay') but it's up to you when you want to finish up.
But that was already missing from episode 3, where the AU really should have been intractable (and apparently was probably going to be, according to the files) with 'Press X to bus to Chloe'.
Instead we just get to watch a movie. It's funny how much games rely on cut scenes to tell the story, instead of actually being interactive. Simple little tokens of interactivity go such a long way.
Yeah.. The bae ending could have them going through the rubbles and finding survivors and shit, and the bay ending could have some Max attending classes and feeling depressed and shit.
But nope, we get instant cutscene and feel good/bad music. I get they are trying to go for the 'right in the feels approach', but surely an epilogue would be helpful.
>max's story is done hurhur
I would trust the fans to create more epilogues than for Dontnod to do it.
I wonder if the original plan for eight episodes would have made things better or if they would have still not explained anything.
I think the most obvious shit they didn't explain I'd that fucking doe. Seriously what the fuck is that? And why does Max seem oblivious about it? They could just get rid of the doe and the plotline won't change.
Is it a metaphor for some kind of shit?
Fan epilogues are all writings. Not to dismiss it but we will never get a full fledged epilogue without dontnod themselves making it. And since 'Max's story is done', and they are busy making some vampire game, I doubt they would do it.
Maybe SE will milk money from the pricefield but, I doubt it.
I think it was pretty clear that the Doe was Rachel's spirit. The source of Max's powers. The vision of the storm is when she gets them, and they activate when she saves Chloe.
Isn't that ambiguous and up to the player to determine? They didn't really bothered to explain what the doe was. And it was irritating because .. A doe that you freaking see all the time at the right time, and Max doesn't question much about it??!
This one I want to say is too: https://d1wst0behutosd.cloudfront.net/videos/5937092/14993981.480p.mp4?Expires=1452051282&Signature=bfs~D-6lPh3kzKrGWGuGnb8QW9etTGuw83Y4xNvlIVpTIgdtgROtbZQPU6v7P5rre4HKwHdVG6NQZ6Jyy~ebK4vo6tqTESA7qH6Mev7nEhhuMPsMOfsiy~fYGrnJS6zV9SiQwA0N6O877t9RT2t0ih8Cj~PHhuTOVQIhBRfmHAt~m~9IJmjk5Et-HZRbBhky3V2w7X1BVenK31Ptjh4OEfO22QtSfe0Uw9yryae0loFpP4KMUc6Padl1cDm5eeJts1tsh0sVE2VMnphOH5uNTHHThH8~zhCGF5N3-5MndclMnb-hCpaIpv4oFGaAqLAbe53BzTe60yWihgMwxu0AWQ__&Key-Pair-Id=APKAJJ6WELAPEP47UKWQ
These links may seem dodgy... they're just webms though.
I don't see what else it could be.
The doe appears during the storm visions, where Rachel is buried in the Junkyard, and in Max's dream. And in the dream Max gets an imaginary text from Rachel.
And? It's not just some doe. It's not visible except to Max and won't even appear in a photo.
It's the spirit of someone, taking on that form to guide Max.
And the only logical answer, at least to me, is that it's Rachel. If you have another idea or theory please feel free to share it.
>It's not visible except to Max and won't even appear in a photo.
It's not normal for people to see their own spirit animals, again Samuel explicitly says that it's weird that Max can see hers.
According to Native American tradition, which the devs said they used, that's exactly what spirit animals do is guide people through different phases of their lives and teach them lessons they need to learn. The deer as a spirit animal guide teaches people to be more caring and compassionate. Pretty much makes perfect sense seeing as how Max is initially neglectful as a friend and then becomes much more caring by the end.
It could have more than one meaning or purpose and it's possible that it's also connected to Rachel somehow, but I think it's pretty clear that it's Max's spirit animal either way.
Feel this same way, just finished first plaything, thanks steam sale. Though, I feel the ending only really works if you have Max want to scissor Chloe. I don't think anyone would sacrifice a whole town just for your bestie, but love on the other hand is selfish. So if you don't have Max wanting to go down on Chloe's box, there really isn't a huge deliberation on the choices.
It is hella adorable. Too bad few people take try to draw her in clothes different to what she wore in game.
She could pull off a large variety of outfits.
In the absence of tasty carrots Alice looked for an alternative sustenance.
Do we know for sure if Max loses her memories of new timelines or not when she focuses on pictures to change the past?
I know the game has shown her confused over the changes and having to piece together what happened in the new history, but I think that is just the initial shock of having two sets of conflicting memories.
However, if she doesn't remember any of it ever that adds an extra element onto her confession to Chloe outside of the party before returning to the tornado. It would turn the tables even more on the usual situation of Max being able to do anything without others remembering.
>I see that the real Max is back...So, how was your time trip, dude?
>Tell me everything that happened. I bet you tried to kiss me when you knew I'd never remember after this, didn't you?
>It's cute that you think I'd stop at kissing
Pretty sure the change where Max was in Rachel's clothes was going to be her actually turning into Rachel.
There's even placeholder lines of a computer voice reading stuff Rachel would say.
Although I think a better place for Rachel would have been right at the end of the dream where Max gets to the lighthouse. Meeting and talking to her as the final thing before going back into reality with Chloe.
>that is just the initial shock of having two sets of conflicting memories.
I really don't think that's right. Seems much more likely that she doesn't retain any of auto-pilot Max's memories. She's surprised to be friends with Victoria and be in the vortex club because she has no idea how that happened. She talks about herself in the 3rd person calling herself 'bad Max' and whatnot, as if she's speaking about another person.
Yeah. My favorite part though was Chloe's internal debate with her younger self and realizing she became something she used to despise.
The story was starting to feel less and less like something LiS, but that chapter started to changed that.
Not my favorite story, but it had an interesting theme that was fun to read and see develop.
People are still bummed out and angry. Not sure when, or if, it will change.
I try to do my part to keep the tradition alive.
The strangest thing for me is that my hard drive melted down a few weeks ago. I lost my saves. It's like my decisions didn't matter or something.
I tried to resist coming back here to look at anything, but when I finally breakdown and look here, people are just sad and not cuteposting anymore... I'm listening to Mogwai...
Honestly it doesn't look like the same material blend as Max's shirt, it's lacking the duck symbol, the collar is not accurate and the logo seems smaller. And I always thought these kinds of shops are overpriced and make most of their money leeching off of other people's brands and art.
Maybe search for "death's head hawkmoth" shirts and look for something similar.
>Reminder for episode 5: once you get to a gallery turn off the game.
Saved you from depression.
>Adding extra: Read the text messages, then turn it off and don't trigger the large photo.
It's ok, anon's!. Have some cuteposting.
The game itself is great and the story is really easy to get immersed in. That's why people get angry about the endings.
You will see for yourself when you get there. But for now just enjoy the ride and the world they created.
Fanfcition, venting here, and renderanon's epilogue has left me with as much peace as I will get from the ending.
Now I just want to discuss the characters and speculate. As well as post Pricefield.
Also watching/ reading stuff I know will be enjoyable has helped in the time since playing Polarized.
George knew from the start.
It's beyond underwhelming. It might just be the single worst experience I've had with an episodic adventure. Episode 5 has so few redeeming qualities that it's best to either quit the game at the final decent moment or simply never play it.
Episode 5 is so dense, it has so much going on.
It's up there with the mass effect endings on the "Are you fucking kidding me" disappointment list.
Apparently we die.
Open this, if you finished Episode 5
you'd better listen this anon >>127631610
or you'll stuck with us
we have been depressed as fuck for 3 months
>Cue_E5_7A_CliffFuture_ChoiceSaveChloe_Chloe_030="Max… I'll always be with you."
>Cue_E5_7A_CliffFuture_ChoiceSaveTownKissChloe_Max_050="Chloe... I love you." >Cue_E5_7A_CliffFuture_ChoiceSaveTownKissChloe_Chloe_060="You better. And, I’ll always love you. Now, get out of here, please! Do it before I freak. And, Max Caulfield? Don’t you ever forget about me..."
>tfw nobody will never say to you ''I'll always love you''
>tfw you'll never find someone who wouldn't mind your silly dance
>tfw you'll never have a gf like Max who'd sacrifice town for you
>tfw nobody will willingly sacrifice herself for you and for other people (like Chloe)
>tfw nobody will sacrifice town for you and let go all town (like Max)
>tfw nobody will love you as much as Max loves Chloe
>tfw nobody will never give you that smile, like Max gave to Chloe
I feel you. I knew this would fucking happen, and it did. God damnit. I can't get over the sadness this game gave me. Feelgood hipster musics in this game actually made me feel like shit, because i have no one to listen to them with.
>"I’ll just drift asleep... dreaming of us here together... forever.
>"Thank you so much.|I'm so proud of you for following your dreams.|Don't forget about me."
>''I love you Max, see you around''
>''Sooner than you think''
>"Chloe, I am never leaving you again."
Is there truly zero chance of us seeing her again in S2? ;__;
sorry anon, was making a lasagna... for one :(
>was making a lasagna...
then you have to share with us
this entire alternate reality part fucked me up more than every other feel in the game combined.
I'm still under the delusion that Square Enix knows how popular Pricefield is and will convince Dontnod to bring them back for season 2.
I mean Square Enix is the same company that shoved Lightning down our throats for half a decade and nobody really likes her.
anons.. i know Pricefield's popular and they're aware of that, but also they're certain about this: yeah Season 2 will have completely different cast,(with same voice actors maybe) i know it's too early to talk about this but they're always saying this in their tweets, interviews. so don't put your hopes up.
If it isn't real love i don't know what it is...
Thank (You)! I think that's my favorite drawing of them two.
They're the cutest.
I am... ok with this! Where's that from, btw?
I'm currently finishing episode 2, and I feel the same. I'm advancing through the story at a super slow pace though, because I don't really want it to end too fast, you know?
P O T T E R Y
I've started writing because of this game! It does feel weird to write fanfiction, but it's definitely fun and kinda rewarding in its own way.
Don't say we didn't warn you.
Blackwell's a college prep school or something, it has a very good science faculty. It's primarily an art school but if you could go to a residential school that's one of the best in the local area for pretty much any given subject, why wouldn't you>
Thanks, Steam Christmas sale. Either way, I finished playing just yesterday.
Personally, I felt it started going downhill at the end of episode 4. It felt too... M Night Shamalamalamadingdongesque. "OOOH, plot twist for the sake of plot twist!" In particular because before that, the game did not rely on twists and turns.
Also, they completely tossed out the Prescott storyline. We get hint after hint, text after text how Papa Prescott needs Nathan to clean up his act IMMEDIATELY because "Something big is coming". So far the only "big thing" we've seen is the storm - by around the first visit to the dark room, I thought the Prescotts are somehow responsible for the storm because *insert reasons for messing with dark forces here* and it's up to Super Max to thwart their evil plan.
So yeah, my problems with episode 5 go beyond the simplistic ending choice. And in that choice, it's the conclusion-jumping that gets me. As far as Max knows, it'd leave Chloe dead, yes - but also Kate, Victoria and herself, at the very least. She'd have no foreknowledge of things that happen beyond "Chloe gonna die, alone in a bathroom, thinking no one cared", as one anon accurately put this.
Probably locals, so the prestigious Blackwell was their most affordable choice. Warren in particular obviously isn't swimming in cash.
If Max hadn't taken the photo, she wouldn't have been hidden from Nathan. She'd had been at the sink when Nathan barged in, leading to a lot different scene. Nathan was unhinged, yeah, but he wouldn't have just gunned Max down there and then.
He has been doing nothing more than writing one-liners of aggro on 4chan for 150 years
> One of dipshit thinks (although everybody treats him as stephen hawking, junior einstein in that school) sodium and potassium have different chemical reactions when they're both in the same chemical group >>127650714
I don't know about Brooke but Warren had no chance for sure.
>has a very good science faculty
Warren would actually know what "chaos theory" is about
>it's the conclusion-jumping that gets me. As far as Max knows, it'd leave Chloe dead, yes - but also Kate, Victoria and herself, at the very least.
Yeah, agreed. They used the nightmare like a warning she'd used her powers one too many times, but then can pull the final jump off with no repercussions. And yeah, she has no clear knowledge what will happen with Nathan (he could discover Max in the bathroom straight after and shoot her and then himself or something), no idea if Nathan would spill the beans on Jefferson or that Jefferson wouldn't flee before he became a suspect. No idea that this would prevent Kate's suicide. No idea what would become of Joyce and David, how their (step)daughter's death might break them - we see how messed up David is by her death in the diner timeline. She didn't even know for certain this would ultimately prevent the storm (and we still don't know, it could just have been delayed). The fact it all worked out 'fine' seems especially cruel and contrived, singling out Chloe as the route of all that was wrong in the world.
>no idea if Nathan would spill the beans on Jefferson
I might be wrong, but if I recall correctly, Max had already at that point seen a reality in which Nathan spills the beans on Jefferson to the police.
as one anon said in early thread, max's existence will keep continue to change things. she knows everything because she actually destined to use her power and she already used it.
Happy new year to all the Grahfield brahs!
>she got an Aya Brea costume last Dissidia
>there's a new one in arcades right now
>she's the goto for guest costumes, and the closest thing the series has to a female gunner character
>Life Is Strange is getting a Japanese translation in a couple of months
>what better way to push it than to throw some blue hairdye and grunge clothes at Lightning
Another Steam sales convert here. Smashed it out in one hit yesterday. Mostly play fighting games, still figured I'd picked this up cheap
My chest and throat still hurts. A game hasn't hit my heart for a loop like this since Nier. Especially that ending, I mean I knew I was saving Chloe no matter what happened, but god damn if it doesn't make it hard to do.
But yeah, Max and Chloe for life. Makes me wish Burch had opened herself up properly when she voiced Cassie Cage, her LIS performance shits on that.
