-Menu/Iron/Browserhax all work on the latest firmware again!
-memchunkhax2 is a kernel11 exploit that allows downgrading to 9.2, and works on every firmware including 10.3.
-mch2 readiness test: https://gbatemp.net/entry/10938/ If you get DEADCAFE, you're eligible to downgrade.
>Is downgrading safe?
Could take a few more commits before calling it that. You are assuming some risk by moving forward early.
-julian20 and TuxSH both have mch2 sysUpdater in its beta stages (listed in the 3DS Pastebin)
-New 3DS seems to struggle in even passing step 7, though eventually does work. Reports suggest mixed results with a few bricks!
-Original 3DS's are mostly handling downgrades well, but again there's no harm in waiting for a stable release. 0-day testers are insane!
-Blank screen can be caused by Menuhax. Try pulling your SD card if you get it. Boot, reinsert, change theme.

PART 1: DOWNGRADING YOUR 3DS
FOR RETARDS: http://pastebin.com/94r18meL
FOR SMARTS: http://pastebin.com/ZfA8wtA2 (Much more detail on what's actually happening)
PART 2: INSTALLING CUSTOM FIRMWARE
OLD/ORIGINAL 3DS/2DS USERS USE THIS
NEW 3DS USERS USE THIS
9.9 2ds, 4GB sdcard bundled with console
downgraded with tuxsh sysupdater and homemenuhax to 9.2
installed rxtools version with code.bin, not with rxtools.dat
installed bigbluemenu cia with fbi
installed shovel knight cia with bigbluemenu
actually played some shovel knight plague of shadows
getting to actual gameplay was quite hard, encountered many errors, rebooted 30-50 times, it all was quite tiring
hbg helped a lot
png guide is very useful
Must not happen every time. I unlinked the nands after having to downgrade from above 9.8 and upgrading to RX3D 10.3 and I can access the e-shop on emunand just fine. Got an error once, but afterwards it reopened and worked.
>RETARDS GUIDE: AUTOBOOTING RXTOOLS EDITION
>have an emunand made with either gateways launcher or emunand9tool
>unlinked nands(system format either nand. if sysnand do it with the sd card out)
>if you have rxtools 2.6 installed delete the rxtools folder, firmware.bin, slotkeybin and rxtools.dat
>between 9.0.0-20 and 9.2.0-20 FW
1)download starter kit on smealums github
download this rxtools build
if link doesnt work use this: https://mega.nz/#!4Bwn2TgI!EVN2S5vvOztjsA_w23HNGbKwl8tRqPYICADGtLAJGcw
2) delete any old hax payloads on SD card from when you were on 9.3+(if they're are .bin files on the root of you SD card delete them basically)
3)put starter kit and rxtools folder in the zip all on the root of your sd card
4)go to https://dukesrg.github.io/?rxTools/sys/code.bin in the browser so rxtools can install data for the first time.
5)once its done go into settings and choose "quick boot" and check it. now quit and this time run browserhax to install menuhax 2.1
6)once menuhax 2.1 is installed go to configurations and set it to autoboot. it will ask you to set a button to launch menuhax. tapping the touch screen is the autoboot option
7)turn off system and go download ctr boot manager from here
8)rename boot.3dsx on your sd card to boot_hb
9)take the boot.cfg and boot.3dsx from ctrbootmanager and put it on root
10)turn on system
congrats! now emunand autoboots and takes like 20-30 seconds from start up to load
Did you format system memory before downgrading? Then you are fine.
That error happens when you:
>NNID logged in on sysnand
>make emunand -> NNID also logged in emunand
>unlink nands by formating sysnand
>error 022-2634 on emunand because you just told nintendo you shouldn't be logged in
Every attempt at downgrading gives me "an error has occurred" at restart after completion and I have to return to 10.3.0-28U.
On an old 3DS XL, I've got the 9.2.0-20U(Full) cia files in the updates folder, have tried all of the versions of sysupdater, I've tried doing it via menuhax and ironhax. No dice.
Yeah didn't work for me too, on n3DS
>get GATEWAY ULTRA v3.6.2
>put Launcher.dat on root
>put GW_3dsx files where you normally put homebrew (make sure the file tree is good)
>open GW with HBL
Anon, I'm not sure this is true. I haven't ever downgraded this o3ds. Not once. I have recieved this error tons of times, but I'm able to connect later. This is just my experience, however.
it's in the root of the card. im using an n3ds with 9.2.
already setup everything (emunand/arm9), but i never had to use a launcher.dat. Now i need it to dump xorpads with it and use them to decrypt 3ds files.
Right now? Nothing. Just hanging around here and the tutorial section on gbatemp and trying to help people setting up everything.
Last game I played was DKCR, it was awesome boys, go play it if you haven't already.
can you play a 3ds game, us version on a eu 3ds?
i saw a thread where someone was complaining the us game would freeze on his eu 3ds
is it maybe cause he doesn't have the latest version of the tools, or did something wrong?
when loading rxtools, hold L.
region free cfw, anon...
Shit, I left my access down and now my emunand wants to update. WELP THANK GOD I HAVE A BACKUP THAT DOESNT HAVE THE CIAS I JUST INSTALLED ON IT.
Worked for me on n3DS
Come on anon
JUST DO IT
>what does that mean?
exactly what it says. N3DS emunand cant go past 9.5 because no one has cracked the encryption on 9.6+ for new3DS
>And is it a problem?
It used to be but now there are plenty of work arounds. newer games coming out will require a minimum firmware above 9.5 to play them. shit like MHX and Triforce heroes require at least 9.9 among others. So you have to wait for firmware spoofed games that bypass these firmware checks.
Also you can access the eshop UNLESS you update your NVER and use Free Multi Patcher. No one really gives a fuck about this part since any game you want is readily availiable on the internet
Don't mind me, just linking the latest version of FBI because I didn't know where to find it back when I was going through this stuff
I'm an idiot, can someone guide me.
I now have everything set up. So now comes the step of actually finding games, putting them on and all that.
Where can I grab MHX with an English patch? Do I just dump ALL games and patches I'll get as .cias onto the sd card root?
What if I delete a .cia? Will the save file be okay somewhere else? I assume so
I just have to keep exiting and entering sysUpdater and pressing Y until something happens? I'm just wondering if I need to bother changing anything. Like if I should shut down my 3DS every time or not. Or if I should remove every non-sysUpdater and FTP-3DS thing in my 3ds folder. I'm not even getting 1-7 here.
Alright, see you in the next thread I guess. I'll post my results for OoThax (I suspect it'll be the same, though: 9.5.0-23U will inject the payload but it'll insist it wants 10.3)
>Where can I grab MHX with an English patch?
here you go
1.1 update required to play online
password is Traiver
Install the 1.1 update THEN the v8.cia
>Do I just dump ALL games and patches I'll get as .cias onto the sd card root?
yes. they can be anywhere you want but thats a good spot
>What if I delete a .cia? Will the save file be okay somewhere else?
you can delete a .cia from your SD card after you install it to the system. If you mean deleting it from the system itself with system settings then yes the save file will be okay. THIS IS ONLY FOR MHX THOUGH NOT OTHER GAMES
>run sysupdater from browserhax
>always freezes on #2
>run sysupdater from ironhax
>always freezes on #5
>run sysupdater from menuhax
>installs CIAs then softbricks my 3ds
Just end me
Only took me 5 minutes, worked after a couple of tries
>had it charging
>menuhax entry point
>boot pony thing
>boot to sysupdate
used sysupdater from the bottom of this page
How long do you think it'll take for versions that bypass the firmware check to come out? I'm sure I'm not the only one whose main interest for doing this is MHX (and PSMD, which I imagine also requires newer firmware).
Using this guide and suggestions from last thread (switching themes) has only fucked up my 3DS and prevents me from booting Browserhax
Browserhax was the only thing that was working; Menuhax no longer autoboots and Ironhax doesn't work as the game isn't recognized on my SD card.
What the fuck do I do?
>install it to the system
I'm confused, isn't the .cia file basically the game?
I plan on having all my pirated games on the SD card, it's 32gb.
>can be anywhere
So I could just make a /games folder on root and put all games in there?
N3DS XL HERE
IF I FORMAT SYSNAND WILL DOWNGRADING BE SAFER?
>How long do you think it'll take for versions that bypass the firmware check to come out?
they usually dont take long. on 3DSISO most people upload games and put RF/FS (Means region free/firmware spoofed) when they upload.
You can also do it yourself by downloading the .3ds version of games and using Simple 3DS CIA converter on gbatemp
MHX already has region free/firmware spoofed cias. Someone posted one >>127539854
Not sure about PSMD though. check the usually places for it (3DSISO, 3DSCHAOS, MEGA3DSRoms)
>Getting CIA file informations...
>main.cpp:150: Result: 0xD900182
>Failed to get CIA file info!
I do but when I try to run pasta I get this and I don't know how to do shot with rxtools when I'm in emunand the menuhax doesn't work
Oh, I see! We can always just restore our EmuNANDs with EmuNAND Tool (I backed it up before I updated). Regardless, I submitted an Issue on the loader's github, if only to force-execute a specific file for the payload.
Anyway, good night! Hope I could help somehow.
Oh okay, I think I get it now. The .cia is basically just like an installer and it'll install the game into proper folders so once that is done I can delete the installer since the game files are now in other locations
i tried to convert a few roms from 3ds -> cia
already pulled the xorpads with rxtools (5 files)
and apparently i am missing Main.exheader.xorpad for one of the roms (bravely default)
am i missing something?
other roms convert successfully.
so I installed some GBA .cia files but every single one I try and boot just fucking crashes. I get the black error screen "please power down and refer to the user manual"
What the fuck am I doing wrong?
>format emunand on bigger card using gateways launcher
>backup smaller sd card using this http://filetrip.net/3ds-downloads/utilities/download-emunand-tool-1-0-3-f33079.html choose extract emunand
>store emunand.bin somewhere on computer
>put bigger SD card into computer and choose inject NAND and use emunand.bin you made
>copy contents of smaller SD to bigger SD
Is it the fact that I'm using Julian20's?
I haven't moved past this stage at all. It's always this. I swear I have the updates folder with all the cia files in the root.
>You need to rebuild the database now. Start your 3DS, go to System Settings, Data Management, Nintendo 3DS, Software. It will show a warning that the database files are corrupt and need to be rebuilt. Do this and exit System settings.
How do you restore all your eshop stuff if you do this?
Anyone? I don't want to lose all my friend codes and games by error
Should I get emuNAND on my n3DSXL now or should I wait until that elusive 10.3 kernel?
I just put it on my o3DS, so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing. I'm just wondering if it's worth doing so right now, especially considering that you can't access eShop and update shit on 9.5.
Let me get this straight guys. I just downgraded my n3ds yesterday. I still have the original 4gb micro SD card inside it.
I wanted to buy today a new bigger one (64gb). Since I havent started getting cfw I dont have emunand yet. Is it possible for me to simply transfer my files from the smaller (4gb) one to the new one (64gb) and then start the whole cfw process??
You can use theme/menuhax in sysnand to coldboot into emunand and use any theme you want in emunand. If you want to use the homebrew channel in Emunand you can just install https://github.com/yellows8/hblauncher_loader/releases
You also need to extract and inject EmuNAND via EmuNAND Tool. Format both cards with EmuNAND before injecting though, or the program will get confused.
Also, you need to format the card with the same model 3DS as the other card (O3DS/N3DS)
Alright, after my 3rd softbrick I'm going to remove the 3ds folder, remove the updates folder and all bins in the root folder and try installing all this shit over again, fucking hell.
This was really useful, thanks.
Tonight's been a super productive one, I think. Just gotta figure out getting my theme shuffle set back on emunand without fucking up my sysnand autoboot.
I can't access the rxtools from the browser anymore so I don't know how to do it in another way
I'm in emunand right now
Should I downgrade my 2DS or wait a bit more folks?
I have a Sky3DS to pass time with
So I installed everything up to rxtools and shits just not working.
I can't boot rxTools unless I hold my menuhax trigger on the CTRbootmenu and when in rxTools I can't boot my emunand and it hangs on a black screen with a white pixel occasionally on the lower left corner of the screen. (I think the pixel goes away if I hold L while booting into emunand but it still hangs on a black screen.)
Also I've lost all my legit games (cias?) from before the downgrade after I did the dbs glitch. Is that normal and if so is there anyway to get them back?
if >>127537352 is still here, I was able to get eshop working on emunand and my health and safety fixed itself, somehow.
Thank everyone here so much for the assistance.
>yfw 10.4 comes out
>destroys all exploits
>idiots update and rush here yelling 10.4 WHEN
its going to happen and you know it
Ok lads, best place for .CIA?
you're right holy shit
>using unstable alpha tools with 95% chance of bricking
Shaking my head real hard here, you should wait until better programs get released
sick i need to change games over and cbf loadin the 3ds up again
yeah man i wanted to not have to open up my n3ds all the time + i like being able to use cia and .3ds and i wanna support the ppl who gave up the gateway menu that we all use
Sorry for the faggotry, I'm kinda lost at the "Download latest gateaway firmware"
I went on the site, downloaded the non beta firmware but I can't find the launcher.dat
Am I retardet or am I missing something?
meh its just other flash cards using there software that bricks it so idk man, all the other flash cards are trash witch is saying shit cos flash cards are bad enough to being with now we have cfw
So a lot of the cia's I'm downloading say online-patched, but I read that just means they have a public header and I'll need a private header, but apparently I need a powersaves to do it. Is there some way to do it without?
Why can't there be a .CIA for 3DS CFW to boot into emunand that works on sysnand that bypasses the need for an internet connection and bypasses the need to be in permanent CFW that autobooting enforces? Something similar to the "recovery" applications that later PSP CFWs worked with.
Just keep trying with Julian's, it's not unusual for it to take like 50 tries. Don't use steveice's.
If you've really given up you can try tuxsh's since it is more consistent (at working and bricking) but it's not like it's going to work on the first try or anything anyway.
So you're telling me I should stick with Steveice's? Julian's doesn't seem to work at all for me. It can never get past whatever >>127540235 got.
How exactly am I supposed to tell if I'm getting anywhere or not? It somehow can't seem to find all the cia files.
How to correctly remove the cia of games which I previously installed? Do I just delete the files or is there something else?
When trying to install .cias
>Could not install app.
>Raw Error: 0xc8a0802b
>Module: AM (0x20)
>Summary: Invalid state (0x5)
>Description: Database does not exist (0x2b)
I downgraded to 9.2 but am having problems and want to upgrade back to 10.3 to try and downgrade back to 9.2 so that maybe I can get it to work then.
How do I go about updating back to 10.3?
>installed all entrypoints and shit from scratch
>says shit's installed successfully
This is the 4th time, not sure if I'm unlucky or doing something terribly wrong.
o3ds shouldn't need a format, so try removing sd card after downgrade.
Your 10.3 menuhax is messing up with 9.2. Just change the theme to something else if you can boot without sd card.
Julian's one keeps telling me "Failed to get CIA file info!"
I have no idea what I'm possibly doing wrong. I fiddled around with the wireless slider, tried going through the FTP a couple of times and still nothing after I press Y.
I can't tell when I'm actually getting anywhere. It pauses for a few seconds then gives me an Exception message after pressing Y. When do people normally experience failures in Julian's? Mine doesn't even crash.
I'm considering having a fap and trying again tomorrow morning.
I think I fucked something up
so I downgraded to 9.2, backed up my data to my pc and went into the gateway launcher
I used the BACKUP SYSTEM NAND option before FORMAT EMUNAND
what am I supposed to do now?
Do I have to fast remove it as soon as it says it's going to reboot in 10 sec? Fuck
It doesn't boot with or without card once it gets the error. Maybe this time I'll try without installing menuhax at all
Quick question: I have Ironhax and Menuhax installed and am on 9.something (I think 9.9).
Can I update the firmware to 10.3 without losing any homebrew functionality?
No, neither of them work cross sysmenu. You can use the ironhax installer to install a payload for the sysmenu you're going to be on before you actually update or whatever though.
You shouldn't update though, just downgrade to 9.2 directly.
If it doesn't boot without sd then menuhax has nothing to do with your problem.
At this point I'd just double check you have the right region & model cias and format system memory before downgrading? Possibly redownload and recopy to SD if something was corrupted at the process.
To move emunand you should use emuNand tool
On the new SD card you have to format it via gateway launcher.
To access Pokébank.
If there's a way to do that without updating (like the eshop bypass), please tell me.
Can I still downgrade from 10.3 if I do update?
Also to what degree is online play possible with CFW?
no. you downgrade. once it says 10sec till reboot you wait. It should reboot and you should have glorious 9.2
If it doesnt reboot wait for like 5 minutes. Still no reboot? shutdown 3ds. power it on.
What happens? blue light with black screen?
Then you should shutdown and remove the card and see if it works
If not, recovery menu and back to 10.3
>Can I still downgrade from 10.3 if I do update?
You can, although as one anon posted earlier, you'd have to tinker with iron/menuhax to get them to properly run on the newer firmware first. The only reason to update to 10.3 is if you absolutely needed access to browserhax/ironfall and had no entry point already.
I had more luck with julians to downgrade my n3ds than with tuxsh. Still I had to try 157 (!!) times till it worked. But the one time it worked everything went smoth and relatively fast.
The Red text appeared in an instant and installing the cias also was very fast. It even rebooted accordingly
I see, thanks. So if I do update, I have to install the files that I'm going to need beforehand.
Is there a way to get through the NNID verification on 9.9 (or on CFW) without updating?
>NEW 3DS USERS USE THIS
This guide is very well written. I'm in the middle of the emunand phase at the moment.
Just wondering, though, why not Cakes? I thought that was kind of the standard for N3DS.
So is this exactly what it's supposed to look like when it fucks up? I'm not crazy right? Right? RIGHT?
I've got an N3DS XL that was already partially setup with CFW but I got stuck and was starting over now that I found a better guide. Dumping NAND.BIN from emunand9 doesn't seem to work. Did it twice and it's not on the sd card.. Is this because I already did some of these steps? I think I deleted the nand.bin if I had one from before.
it use to be the standard because rxtools 2.6 and below didnt work on n3ds. now the nightly builds exist and work on both
plus rxtools has more features than cakes. native region free is one of them
yep it failed. Are you n3ds or o3ds?
If n3ds try more, since it couldnt get into kernel
if o3ds try more, since it couldnt get into kernel
you sure you have the right cias? Are they in your root in a folder called "updates" with a "s" at the end?
A bit of a warning to people on O3DS who downgraded, it seems like Cakes has a bit of a problem with CHMM2 where trying to install custom themes to emunand somehow relinks your nands and installs the theme to both. I haven't seen anyone else have this problem, but try to use rxTools.
Search for known stable builds. I've got one.
Some of my installed cias disappeared what the fuck man even the blueshit no instal things on my emunand
But they are still on the sd because of size occupied by them how I fix this shit I don't want to instal 3 times Pokemon super mystery dungeon
Should be. I got the folder straight from "9.2.0-20U(Full)" and I'm using Julian's in a folder named "sysUpdater" in my 3ds folder.
Ok, got a 2DS, updated to 10.3 and then browserhax -> menuhax. Tried for 30 minutes with Julian's, so I got impatient and switched to tuxSH's sysupdater. Worked after 5 minutes and I'm now on 9.2.0. Time for some Monhun X.
How to move Games, Saves, Themes, and Emunand to a new SD card
Get Emunand Tool
Insert your old SD card in your PC
Open Emunand Tool and select "Extract EmuNAND"
Save it somewhere on your PC (as "emunand.bin" if you want)
Backup all your SD card files to your PC
Eject your old SD card
Put Gateway's launcher.dat on your new SD card
Format emunand on your new SD card via the gateway menu
Turn off your 3DS
Insert your new SD card in your PC
Open Emunand Tool and select "Inject NAND to emuNAND"
Select the emunand.bin you made in step 3 & 4
Close Emunand Tool when done
Put backup of SD card files (from step 5) on your new SD card
Done, emunand and files (saves, games, etc.) have been transferred to your new SD card!
is that webm supposed to look floaty and slow and kind of buggy?
Ha, actually none of that is true. Where did you hear that?
Okay, correction, the pokebank bit MIGHT be true. Do you have an O3DS or N3DS? The O3DS can just have emunand on latest firmware, N3DS is stuck on 9.5 with a few workarounds.
So, I have my emuNAND set up, with rxTools and all that jazz, and I'm noticing that my HBL is still launching for my sysNAND instead of it. What would be the best course of action for me to take in order to have it read my emuNAND instead? Screenshots and overclocking for O3DS games is really convenient and I'm sure it should work with CIAs.
Well, this just fucked my shit up. Whenever it tries to autoboot I get an error. What do?
I guess I'll just remove it all and do the browser thing again.
Root, you dont need homebrew to setup emunand, best follow this tutorial if you have an old 3ds:
Aye, the default boot.cfg has one entry bound to the A key, which is key = 0. The keylist is here: https://github.com/smealum/ctrulib/blob/master/libctru/include/3ds/services/hid.h This allows you to autoboot (timeout = 0) AND have a choice in case you don't want to boot to the default. I have rxtools bound to L, minipasta to R, homebrew to A, and selection screen to Select.
Uh, read the instructions? Most likely, you got an old version, or the wrong cetk version for n3ds instead. Cakes has supported o3ds for a long time.
Format the new card for emunand, then copy everything over. Should work.
Well this shit isn't working for me. Godspeed anons also trying and repeatedly failing. Maybe this will work better tomorrow after sleeping and having a fap.
So I was triying to enter the eshop and got this error
What to do family ?
I am finished with the whole process on my o3ds, and i am honestly exhausted. I think i an gonna hold off downgrading my n3ds until a more stable downgrader comes along. The whole process just seems to be even more conplicated on n3ds.
Here you go, since you were polite enough to ask. Of course, the firmware.bin for O3DS (the 00000049 link) is also different from N3DS, so make sure you get that one locked down too.
Good night anon.
"I found a solution. My error occurred after trying to download a demo in sleep mode. The error started right after. I contacted Nintendo and they just told me it was a problem with the card. After doing some checking I discovered what the problem was. I went to my system settings, data management, nintendo 3ds, software. At the very top of the list of software was a file with no name and a zero size. This file was the demo that error-ed when it was downloading. By deleting it the problem was fixed. So it was just that the zero file cause the 3ds to not be able to read the rest of the data. Problem fixed."
Look into this, cant confirm it.
Those are cia files, so you find them at 3dsiso too.
So I did the gateway think, backed up nand, installed rxtools and unlinked nands.
Isn't there a homebrew channel that can launch RX tools like on my wii? Can I just install .cia games I downloaded and play them now?
Yes, that's the one I used and now I'm here. Don't believe in the "8-10 minutes" lie though, it took me 45 minutes to dump my sysNAND.
Everytime I launch go.gateway-3ds.com I get this.
What do I do?
Assuming everything >>127545853 is correct
I'm guessing that I just have to keep trying until my heart goes out or Reggie bursts through my window and starts fucking me in the ass.
>Those are cia files, so you find them at 3dsiso too.
what is the difference between .cia and .3ds?
i saw .cia comes in different version sometimes (adapted for the hack you use?)
there's literally a guide a couple post below it showing you how to autoboot emunand nigga
So I was planning on formatting emunand for the sake of keeping my legit stuff on the sysnand and the less legit stuff on the emunand. But I'm now finding out you can't choose to boot into sysnand, the only way of doing it is if an emunand isn't found on the SD card. So I think that means the sysnand is useless for anything apart from holding the 9.2 firmware. And then, even if I somehow lose my emunand stuff, everything apart from digital saves can easily be regained with my NNID.
So my question, if any, is: Should I be formatting the sysnand or the emunand?
>Those are cia files, so you find them at 3dsiso too.
Thanks bud, do I simply install them with FBI like I do with the games and the games automatically get patched or do I need to put the DLC cia files into a specific folder?
Why would you keep your legit stuff on sysnand? That's just meant to be a platform for entering into emunand. Emunand is the one able to access the eshop, and subsequently legit stuff.
Yes, you need Fat16 xorpads for that, which can be obtained from Decrypt9 or rxTools.
At least he didn't have to pay for it. I bought that shit at launch because there was literally nothing else to play on it at the time.
It's a cute game though.
the sega 3d classics are all high quality and are fairly small downloads if you're into classic arcade stuff
i don't have a mega download offhand but there's an easy to find thread on 3dschaos
Yes, I can anon. The autoboot fucked it up and didn't work though, so I'll stick with what's working.
thanks! i see, so it is the .3ds that would be used in an emulator i guess? like a kind of iso, while .cia are more like files you would get from the online shop, to be installed in the sdcard
tell me how many attempts until that shit actually works for you
>tfw you've properly set up emuNand
It was a journey, but it's all over now
So I backed up my files while enuNAND nuked everything and I threw my files back in and all my digital shit is gone now, including my pre-installed MH4U.
>Trying to get browserhax to boot up on N3DS 10.3
>Keep getting an error message if I type in the direct link or use the QR code
I'm I already fucked? Or is there something I gotta do with the Browser first? I grabbed https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip if that helps and now just trying to get it to run so I can install the ironhax save and be done with this.
Wait, that cetk has the same hash as the one I was already using.
Now that I think about it, I downloaded the o3ds one originally and forgot that there were different ones and just used it in my n3ds and it worked fine I guess.
I guess I will try with that firmware instead.
No, just hit the Home button.
Have you tried booting into emunand, see if it's there?
>red text is always fucked up
Any news on a more stable version?
Oh, I'm an idiot.
So is that basically it?
I installed a game .cia via FBI. Now it's on my home menu.
Am I good to go and can play it online with friends? Can I add friends on emunand anyway?
Hm, try with menuhax then. Browserhax is really finicky anyway.
What console and version? If you're on o3ds just update to latest and try again, that's what made it work for me.
I installed menuhax and still doing it
When I downgraded during the reboot I got an "an error occured please blah blah" and when I turned it on, downgraded fine
Think it didn't downgrade right?
Get homebrew running, use svdt to back up your savefiles, and then just inject them later on pirated versions.
It's a possibility. What sysupdater were you using? TuxSH's shouldn't have any problems.
Hm, mine was the same setup as yours. Maybe just fuck around with wifi, charging, and ftp-3ds until it works.
Alright, so I've done everything as listed, but when I boot up rxTools, I get a blank screen.
Please, what do?
Cakes is great, install NTR on top of it for regionfree and overclocking.
Sometimes that just happens. Just try it again. Or hold L while booting to try to get into the UI first.
PEOPLE HAVING ISSUES WITH SYSUPDATER TRY THIS
>I recently have found a way to boot sysUpdater with a higher success rate. I have tested this with my N3DS 10.3.0-28U and it worked in the first try.
>First, you have to use an entry point and install menuhax.
>Once that is done, download the attached sysUpdater build by @julian20 and extract it. Then place 'sysUpdater.3dsx' NOT 'sysUpdater.smdh' onto the root of your 3ds sd card.
>Now either back up the 'boot.3dsx' or rename it, as long as there is no longer a file with the name mentioned on your sd card. Now rename the 'sysUpdater.3dsx' that you placed on your sd card to 'boot.3dsx'.
>Next, you need to create a folder called updates on the root of your sd card. You then have to download the cias that you will be using to downgrade and place them in the updates folder you created (can't help you here). Now put your sd card in your 3ds and launch via menuhax.
>It should now work with a higher success rate then before.
Found the other issue too.
Apparently random theme set up means it doesn't work. Gotta have a static downloaded theme to boot into it! Keep that in mind for anyone else with such issues!
Anon, pls, help! I want a game like Xeonablade, but for old 3ds. Any good titles?
>tfw addicted to helping people in these thread because it's making me feel validated
What cfw are you trying to use the firmware.bin with? If it's cakes you can just use http://filetrip.net/dl?yTC45q3w3L
