Added one variable to warfare_options.script - MAX_MONSTER_SQUADS which is set to 200 (23 active levels so something around 8 mutants per level if you don't kill them off and no one else does which is unlikely). V3 of Mutant Nerf for Warfare 0.5, all V3 does is make it to where mutant spawns are less reliant on how many points they own (because the faction_brain doesn't let them physically own points), you will see them respawn faster than in V2, but its nowhere near where it was without the patch.
This also includes a whole bunch of other shit that i modified over the days in my game, and a couple of other fixes that broke shit with other mods in 0.5. Make sure you read the readme's if you want to install something, cause they got important information on it.
If you are going to download my V3 of Mutant nerf, dont use the Mutant Nerf (If that makes any sense), werejew already fixed it in 0.5.0.1, but anything else in the options folder will work, cause its just various tweaks i came up with.

Anyone experience huge framerate drops after awhile in CoC? I can't seem to get it to go away. When I start a new game as a different faction I'm ok. It seemed to start when it was becoming night time.
Did it happen at a certain point of playing or from the beginning? What's weird is I had been to the place before (west part of the swamps) and it dropped and never got better. Haven't tried changing zones yet though. I'll give that a shot, something else to try.
It was bad, but it seemed to go from bad to worse.
Also i have 16GB of ram so any ram leak will take a while to get noticed on my system, and i play iron man mode and usually quit the game after i die, which doesn't take very long

As a slav i'll explain the thought process of slavs and making videogames/mods.
You see slavs don't generally play videogames, and generally don't play many different games, and the games they like the most is blizzshit like shit, and counterstrike, though there are some insane fringe groups that like something else, usually these guys are the too cool for school kind of people and are looked up to by the rest of slav gamers or normie gamers as gaming wizards.
You can think of it as jedi and non jedi.
Sadly these game wizards usually don't make mods or games, because they waste time on playing them too much.
The ones that usually make mods are the ones that cling to one game or genre for years and years, because if nothing the slav is a patient man.

Why does he do it then?
Well because a good slav never listens to dissenting opinions.
He forms this idea of what he wants to do, sort of and starts working on it, usually alone, because he is a man, and he can do everything, and the process goes slowly, sometimes he'll get another slav who is equally as overenthusiastic to help him.
They continue on this wild adventure into the world of video game development.
Along the way they perhaps play a game or watch a movie, or even the strangest of all read an actual book.
Now he gets more ideas that he wants to implement, but he never changes his direction or cuts back on some things to be able to add others, that would be blasphemy in his eyes and the gods would punish him for showing such weakness.
So he adds more things and more things, and more things, that he thinks would cool to have.
This is where you get the neverever.
Now he isn't always good at everything he does, but he doesn't let that get in his way and he doesn't ever stop to learn something before doing it well and implementing it, say a blood platter texture, for HE IS SLAV and he knows everything, also he has a really hard time criticizing him self or listening to any kind of critique which just compounds the problems.
Now you have the slavs that are actually have god like skills at whatever and they like making stuff, but even still they cannot get away from their slavic blood. Also slavs really and i mean really like fucking with people, so they'll come up with the most batshit crazy ideas and make them into something, from mind fucking to making your really frustrated or making you giggle to the insanity of it all.
I guess deep down the creative slav wants you to take a look at yourself or the world and laugh at the insanity of it all to see the world from their cheeki, cynical eyes.

I'm not suggesting Borderlands levels of weapon disparity, that would be overdoing it, but adding a few slightly more unique weapons would keep you more attached to your weapon.
- More creative anomalies, yes. But what really sticks out to me are the thoroughly alien, drastic anomalies. The ones that stuck out to me the most are: the the huge canyon cut out of the ground in the lower right corner of... Yanov? Zaton? Call of Pripyat? You know what I'm referring to. The huge, perfect line cut out of the ground... I was breathless the first time I saw it, I didn't know how to react, it was so... overbearing.
The anomaly you run into when you're looking for the heart of the oasis is another great one, the first time I ran into that, I legitimately thought I was losing my mind for a second, my next thought was that I had somehow fallen asleep while playing, or accidentally loaded a previous save from a few seconds ago and forgotten about it. When I first found out about the place I didn't even know about the quest, I was just seeking shelter from a blowout.
Once I realized what was going on, the "puzzle" itself turned out to be a major letdown, but for those first few seconds when I first realized the room was repeating itself, those are among my top-10 videogame experiences ever.
To a lesser extent Oakpine qualifies as well. It's alien, people tell stories about it, but it's not necessarily all that hostile.
I don't necessarily want more creative anomalies, I want Greater anomalies.

Playing CoC with AO3.1 and the latest Warfare version.
From reading the readme in the Warfare mod folder, it seems like there should be intense fights all across the Zone, but as I travel around as a member of the various factions, everything seems so... dead. Factions rarely venture from their initial camps (I've only had one instance of a coordinated assault when I was playing as Duty.) In addition, Mutants seem almost nonexistent in the Zone, with only a few being in each area.
Is this normal? How much of this is CoC and how much is warfare?
Right guys, I'm kinda new to CoP, and I've decided to play misery mod for the first time. Can someone tell me why I can't seem to follow noah to the plateau without burning alive in the anomalies in that farm. Every time I try and follow his path, I end up being burnt alive before I make it to the jump. I've tried throwing screws about and figuring out an alternative path to the crash site, but eventually gave up and attempted a different mission. Am I attempting the mission too soon? Should I be wearing certain gear before trying it?
First of all, I think Misery is a good mod for what it does. It turns Stalker into a progression-based game, almost an RPG, Which brings the game closer to what it was originally intended to be, but since the mechanics aren't there to support it...
I know exactly what you're talking about, I had the exact same experience in the scene you're talking about when I played Misery. This mod being Misery, you're intended to move on, and farm/grind for the next 10 hours or so until you can afford a better armor. Only then can you return and finish this story-critical quest.
Do you have the red and green circles on the map ? (Just to check if the mod was installed correctly)
In my experience, it starts calmly and gradually become more intense as the faction capture more territory, which allow them to have more active squad at a time. If you want the action to come faster, you could try the file in the optionnal folder, I tried more squad + Faster respawn and it became a bit crazy after a few map conquered !

Yeah those are there. All of the systems are in place, it just seems like the factions don't try to make a move.
I'll do some editing to see if I can make it more intense.

The AI seems to be broken, in Yanov I don't see any Duty/Freedom spawns, and in Zaton the AI seems to forget that mutants should be shot before they gnaw your ankles off.
Is there any easy way to modify spawn/faction tables to the AI so the world is a bit more interesting?

Misery 1.x maybe, but definitely not 2.x which is very different from STALKER, the game, and is its own thing.
If you want to play STALKER, play STALKER.
If you want to play Misery, play Misery.
You want to play STALKER, young rookie.
You'll need to merge it with OWR3 if you want both. Download WinMerge and give it a shot.
This is a pretty straightforward merge since both mods are targeted at vanilla and is a good intro to merging.
Don't merge inside your gamedata - merge AMK ballistics into a standalone copy of OWR3, then drop that into your presumably ZRP+Absolute texes gamedata.

Compared to the last beta I put up a couple threads ago, this has Smurth's Dynamic Hud for CoP ported over for dynamic breath and hit effects. AMK blowouts are started correctly in this version. Bunch of other minor changes mostly around dynamic actor/suit effects.
I'd say so, it's been pretty stable for me so far though I've only got as far as saving Mole in any of my tests.
This is 1.4.1 not 1.4, so you'll need to restart. I'll do 1.4 too in the next week or two, if you prefer to keep playing - the save should be compatible when that comes out.
If you want to compensate for the lower spawns, go into AMK Options after you've started the and turn on Dynamic Hit Effects. They're from Smurth's mod and just as annoying as the original AMK post effect on hit.

There's a standalone AMK ballistics mod in the cop repo, look under small mods. You'll need to merge it with OWR3, since they both touch the weapon files. Or skip OWR3 and use the ballistics.

aa2 looks fucking great without its sweetfx/enb shaders, better than with the enb. use the more colorful option in the amk autumn install - which comments out literally 2 lines in shader settings.txt - the saturation and contrast shaders. you're looking at 50 shades of grey with those enabled
The only nice thing about AA2 is the doubled geometry. No idea if there are any other mods that have it too. I dislike the autumnal theme too. It's nice for a playthrough or so but that's it.
Are there any new released mods for CS? Wanna play it again, but I'm not up to date at all with what is recommended etc.

How close to completion? Sarcophagus? Red Forest? I'd say bare with it if you hadn't been to CNPP, but if you had don't bother going through the entire game again just to get a ten-minute cinematic after hallways and hallways.
The gunplay isn't all that different, no. The differences are very subtle at best. There are one or two new guns but none of them are gamechangers.

Don't install COC over Cop. It's a stand-alone, it just needs COP installed for legal reason because it contains all of the asset of the game. Consider CoC as a separate game and install it in a separate folder.

forgot to mention if your pc specs are decent you should be able to bump up your switch sidtance to like 400 or 600 or something.

that update was fixed long ago.
it's related to the shitty CoP engine. more complex mods = more stutter, pretty much. you can try increasing the a-life switch distance, but for me that didn't do anything.
there's CoC which is based on a modified, open CoP's engine, and the difference is gigantic. zero stutters besides some very minor loading from hdd.
How long should it take because I've been here waiting over half hour stuck on this screen.
Good job, m8, I remember merging Smurth's HUD with AO 2.5, that was the most fun I'd had playing stalker in a long time.
I'm currently merging MSO with STCoP 2.8, all that's left is the random loadout scheme.
It doesn't take an hour to do that.
Kill it, and reboot in safe mode or repair mode and see if you can't fix it. Or just try a regular boot. Things might be fine.

Very cool. Being able to merge really opens up your stalking possibilities.
Also look at Smurth's Dynamic Hud, as anon mentioned. It's not the visual hud but mask and breath effects alongside item use taking time and hit effects.

I was actually thinking about that today. AA2 has that and right now the game (CoP) feels a bit too easy for me. Maybe that's something I'll want to add. Not sure yet though.

I thought they made it not broken lately, but I just reinstalled, shot a guy 15 times in the chest, reloaded, got shot once by him, shot him another 5 times, and then he finally died.
...I also bled out though from one shot.
Smurth's hud has a number of the Rulix mods used in AA2 that he ported to CoP. One I forgot to mention is camera effectors for recoil based on ammo and weapon - this is in AA2 (Rulix shoot effects, the original SoC mod).
The hit effects are the same as AMK's post-effect on hit option and can make the game significantly harder, so disable those if you find them annoying.
There's a lot of very cool detail - helmets removed on item consumption for eg. Breath effects on running. It's a really cool little mod.
I've added it to AMK Autumn Edition in the latest beta and it's really neat alongside the Rulix mods from AA2.
I did take out all the speed estimation for breath effects and replace it with scale based on remaining stamina - didn't make sense to be panting when wearing artifacts that kept your stamina at maximum even when in a flat out sprint.
But yeah, use Smurth's Dynamic Hud mod in CoP.
Note that if you have any weapon mods, you'll need to add entries to Smurth's bind_stalker_ext.script for any extra weapons in the mod, as it only has vanilla weapons + weapons from some unknown weapon mod that isn't included.
The recoil is also a bit exaggerated IMO, not entirely sure how to lower it though.
I kinda learned to be satisfied with the gun variety a mod has to offer in it's "vanilla" state.
And I don't mind recoil, if it's not too exaggerated. Better than no recoil at all, which just feels absolutely retarded.

Also, I just found out that if the "class" variable of weapons is set to WP_AK74, there has to be a set of underbarrel grenade launcher animations whereas if it's set to WP_LR300, they're not necessary. More SoC arcane bullshit.
funny enough the first save i made after continuing my playthrough of SGM2.2 LS was corrupted.(made by escape+save new save name)
reverted to old save, saved at least 5 times since that, both quicksave+escthen save and no corruption. odd, i never get corrupt saves. i'm pretty sure i didnt even get any in sgm1.7
i moved my switch distance out from 150 to 250 and it seemed to help with the stuttering. or maybe just pacebo effect. i've only just got to the swamps.
i forgot to mention also the spawn menu doesnt work, and neither does the MP3 player
Seems like the messages/notifications that pop up on the lower left of the screen just cease showing up after a while when playing at resolutions such as 1280x720 and 1600x900, probably more. I noticed this both in AMK and ZRP. They work in other resolutions such as 1366x768 and 1920x1080, don't know why only certain resolutions have this problem. If anyone has a late save in ZRP, you can try switching to one of the problematic resolutions I've mentioned and empty a stash and see if you still get the notification about the stash being cleared. Can anyone with knowledge about how the ui config files work shed some light into this and maybe fix this problem?
Okay I am stuck in the STALKER swamp again. Played through CoP Complete (god forbid) now I am going through Misery 2.1. Having a good time but I feel like I am going to want more.
Game doesn't really matter so I am looking at all possible mods. What I've found so far that seems interesting is:
SGM 2.2 (CoP)
OGSE (SoC, will wait for 0.6.9.3)
Path in the Mist (CoP)
What am I in for which each of these mods?
New story and quests. Lots of stuttering. Somehow manages to have worse gunplay than vanilla.
Mostly the same as vanilla, just with a whole lot of eyecandy. Guns are more accurate and powerful and you now also have to use detectors to uncover artifacts. I hope you still aren't bored of using the AK74 though, because now even Freedom uses them. You'll be hard pressed to find 5.56 ammo.
Big, pretty levels but with a whole lot of nothing in them. No roaming NPCs, no artifacts, no loot, just nothing. Lots of long segments of just walking from place to place. Level progression is very restricted, lots of "you can't go there yet" moments. There's plenty of cringeworthy cutscenes as well.
And when will it stop fucking raining?

Playan CoC as Merc, has a contract killer quest to kill some Clear Sky dude in the swamps, went there, killed him, but it didn't register. I thought it was normal because it just said "after the job is done head back to turn in" or something like that.

i see now, it's the broken logic of sending out new squads and requirements to claim base.
- factions only send out new squads out of a base if they're above the required number of defending squads to claim the base
- if one defending squad dies, or goes into combat, the base becomed unclaimed and ceases to function (spawn squads or give territory points that affect the overall number of spawned squads)
- squads will never leave unclaimed base, they will only wait for reinforcements (that never come)
attacking every spawn point (some factions only have 1) instantly paralyzes the whole faction. it only works fine for a while because there's a big surplus of squads at the beginning of the game.
add in line 1197 in smart_terrain.script (function stayed_faction())
stayRequirement = 1
so it takes just 1 squad for the base to be claimed (and operational), and it still gets "reinforced" until it reaches the squad cap before factions go on the offense in enemy territories.

The first hour or so of the game was a damn drag for me. You start with absolutely nothing and you must constantly scrounge half-empty half-broken weapons and RPGs while drinking some magical healing vodka elixir to keep you going.
If you make it to the swamp, you can even pick a free-play option.
DoppelgangER is the sequel, which is far larger, more retarded but slightly less retarded at the same time.

A few questions because I'm uneducated and none of the mod resources tell me certain things.
1. Are there any other gun mods for STALKER CoP (or the others) that do 3D scopes like Shoker? Shoker 2.1 is better but still kinda shit and 3.0 / Gunslinger aren't out. I've seen stuff from Arsenal Overhaul 3 but I used it when I tried Call of Chernobyl and it still had the shit scopes. I am so fucking desperate to get this games guns to finally feel right and I don't want to wait another xx months/years for Gunslinger or Shoker 3 to come out.
2. Why does the grass either go hardcore af on max settings or turn it basically all off even going 2 ticks below maximum? Can I custom change the grass LOD settings easily in the .ini files?
I have CoC, AO, and warfare installed right now, but no mutants are spawning anywhere, including in labs, and factions dont seem to move around or expand on their own.
This a known issue or did i fuck up my install somehow.

1.No idea, AA2 lets you pick 3 different styles, LURK(?), MISERY, then gnomus which is like 3D and you don't just zoom in a tube, gnomus can be also used on CoP, I don't know any weapon mod that does that. perhaps others know.
