Just an FYI to N3DS users that don't know this as I had a few friends that didn't and it's quite useful.

If you open system settings and go to micro sd management you can set up a network to access the contents of your micro SD on the computer.

Saves time unscrewing the back and taking the card out manually and plugging it in. Also good if you don't have an SD reader though they're easy to find.

I've used it through all the process of downgrading and installing rxtools/cias so there should be no problems.

How can I put a save file of a game to my computer and restore it at some later point?
My current 3DS full of shit so I would rather format it completely after I rescue some save games and reinstall the games later on emuNAND.

i went from 10.3 to 9.2 on my O3DSXL without any problems using menuhax as a homebrew entry point

the only hang that i got was when "update completed. rebooting in 10 seconds..." was reported. After a few minutes, I held down the power button and rebooted the 3DS without entering the homebrew channel, checked the FW version, and saw 9.2

Anyone else getting invalid state 0x5 and database does not exit 0x2b when installing .cias?

What do I do?

So, I've read some guides and watched a video.
Did I understand it right that the "format emunand" option in the gateway launcher deletes all the content on my SD card?
Will I not be able to access my legit games I had downloaded from eshop on my SD card?

People say the downgrading was the most dangerous part, which I've passed. But I'm a bit confused how I should go about creating all those nands, unliking them, installing a CFW etc.

If you're trying to use ctrbootmanager or one of the newer nightly versions of rxtools, what fixed it for me was using the python file in the nightly rar package to download a firmware folder based on your system number (named firm and has 3 bin files, different from firmware.bin) I put that in sys and firmware.bin in data I think.

installed ctrbootmanager, but when i try to launch rxtools, it installs the data, then when the CFW should be launching to emuNAND, it resets and CTR tries to boot again. Then when i try to launch rxtools again, it gives me a red bottom screen

i have reinstalled ctr/menuhax/rxtools twice to make sure there is no problems, and this same method worked on my other O3DS just a few minutes ago

Browserhax only works the first time i format the sd card, and just goes to a yellow screen and grey and then error everytime after. And yes, i have initialized save data.

I have rxTools 2.6 on an unlinked EmuNAND and Homemenuhax 2.1 on the SysNAND. How do I get the CtrBootManager to load the rxTools? Do I just change the boot.cfg so that it targets the rxTools.dat file instead, or do I have to do something else?

My 10.3 -> 9.2 n3ds downgrade worked. Including me, the score for the anons I was paying attention to last night was 6 successes to 1 hard brick. Didn't hear about any soft-bricks from the n3ds crowd.

No really, why is julian20's updater not showing up? I extracted the two files into a folder which I placed into the 3ds folder like normal, why isn't it showing up?

I want to mess with homebrew on my emunand, but whenever I leave a homebrew application, I'm taken to the ctrboot menu. The only option that seems to make sense to choose is rxtools to get back to emunand, but that freezes each time.

Saved your save files before fucking shit up.
Re-downloaded the game from E-SHOP in EMUNAND (I did this).

Then when the shit is downloaded;

Take the SD card out, locate the game, locate the new save file. Remove it. Add the old one you had.

I literally did this for Phoenix trilogy and it worked flawlessly.
