I crafted Jaraxxus recently and since I started playing him I noticed that I'm often just afraid to play him.
I basically can't play him against druids at all or combo will kill me.
Playing Jaraxxus takes an entire turn and I need that mana to remove his minions because I'll die if he has one minion left on board from a previous turn.
I'm afraid to play him against mage if I haven't seen fireballs yet.
I'm afraid to play him against shaman because crackle and lavaburst.

15HP seems like it's nothing nowadays. Should I just man up, play him and accept the loss if my opponent had the burst in hand?
Right now I often try to play the safe game and keep him in hand, sometimes that wins me the game, sometimes I lose.

Basically I'm asking when I should play Jaraxxus.

Jaraxxus is an absolute gamechanger and main win condition in some warlock decks.
Mal'Ganis is very good too, but in the end he's just a huge body you can get out of a voidcaller. I don't think Mal'Ganis is absolutely required in any decks.

Another example that demonstrates it, if your opponent has played Sacred Trial and you play Dr. Boom while you have 1 minion on board, Boom gets destroyed.

drop aow for starters. it's not even midrange. i would drop the roots and get 2nd shade and drop the drake for loatheb.
if you like drakes because they are good with emperor get 2 drakes 2 shade and drop roots and dont add loatheb.
your gonna skip 3rd turn almost always, you have 6 cards that let you ramp.
your plays are innervate shade, coin aspirant shade, coin innervate shredder, pass innervate shredder etc. roots are out of place imho

Ok, here's the thing. You tech Sylvanas against control. And against control you don't trade, outvalue them or some shit. You smack their face with beefy minions until they are in combo range then play Loatheb so they can't LoH/brawl/shieldblock/flashheal/lightbomb/whatever. So Sylvanas is dogshit. Then, Ancient of Uproot is shit because it's WAY too slow against aggro. Then, shade is kinda shit because it would eventually die to aoe without making a single hit. Then, aspirants are shit because they are too popular and everyone mulligans against them. Here's my list. When I get richer I would replace aspirant and combatant with Thalnos and bgh.

I already run demonwrath, but since the decks runs 1-ofs you don't always have it when you need it.
Sheep would serve the same purpose but increase consistency, since it's another card in your deck.

A turn 2 sheep will also prevent the aggro player from playing 2 or 1 HP minions on his turn 2/3, before the sheep detonates. Attacking the sheep into a minibot kills the minibot. It seems so good to me.

Thalnos can easily be replaced with loot/geo/shiv, edwin isn't core. You can easily play the deck effectively without any legos, things like violet teacher and tomb pillager are far more important. Even without pillager you could use shredder. Even if you want to go into miracle shenanigans, auctioneer is a rare.

Rafaam is way better than he seems.
Sure, 9 mana for 7/8 is bad, but in the end it doesn't really matter whether he's 7/8 or 25/25, he's going to eat removal and not get an attack in anyway. The true power is in the card he gives you. What people do not understand is that you're not forced to play the artifact on the turn after you play Rafaam. You can wait until you get a good situation. Just continue playing as normal and then use the +10/+10 on a belcher token for surprise lethal or fill the board with 3/3 mummies after your opponent spent his turn clearing your board.
