So question: anyone have any links to guides or info on how to make a simple harvesting and crafting system?

I would love players to be able to pick herbs or minerals from their surroundings and mix them with food objects for better food objects. But I don't want this to be an insanely overbearing thing nor too complicated because if there's anything that pisses me off it's clusterfucky crafting.

Should I just lay down the basic tilesets for my whole game and set up the events ect and then just go over it all again and redo the tilesets and sprites at the end? I can't do sprites or pixelart and its making it hard for me but I feel like if I did that Id still be motivated to learn sprite making and finish it once I get the layouts done.
I'm also designing the characters right now. Also anyone have a skeleton MV sprite I can edit for a character? Or a buff character I can edit?

I can't do it too. So I'm using a method to get what I want.
