The game follows Neon's perspective 90% of the time, with misc. other characters and Tesla divvying up the rest.

This isn't a negative in and of itself, considering it's the only way the narrative would work since she's mindfucked from every direction (not really a spoiler since it's talked about in the first chapter).

Honestly, I liked it. Character dynamics were good, the plot was solid, symbolism/metaphors were solid, atmosphere was fantastic as per usual for liar-soft and there was some decently sophisticated writing in there. Music was average and could have used more tracks, but such is life for Liar-soft games.

Definitely worth your time.

Yeah. She's in the first one, just right before you finish the game. I think you get her after you conquer everything except for the Illusion Continent the second time.

She's really weird. She never speaks, only ever says "..." and maybe *blush* or something, because she doesn't have a voice actress, so all of the scenes with her have Lancelot around because they're both the heavy eater archetype, and Lanny translates for her. She also has 0 interest in the protag, because she already has someone she loves.

I have a very hard time understanding the interest of the visual novels that have very little interaction, if any at all. As a bonus you get some sound effects, some music and some illustrations, but sadly you also get the most annoying text delivery method known to man. The main problem is not there though, it’s that it puts these visual novels in direct competition with another medium called literature and that’s a battle that simply cannot be won.

The other day, I played about an hour of a very positively reviewed visual novel I bought on Steam called World End Economica... and then I asked myself: Why? Every minute I am reading this lame thing is a minute I am not reading The Windup Girl or Paradise Lost (the two books I am reading at the moment). And that’s from someone who played verbose games like all the Ace Attorney games, Hotel Dusk and Last Window without for second feeling like I was wasting my time.

I've been paying close attention as to how the narrative of VNs warp and shift in order to ensure the heroines only fall in love with the protagonist rather than the male friend, and upon doing so I've noticed some truly terrifying things. Namely, the male friend always seems to decline to participate in nakayoku events; for example, he declines to show girls around town, or he declines to sit with girls at lunch (leaving MC to do so alone), etc etc. Furthermore, despite being an overall good guy, the male friend often lets fear and anxiety take him over so when he does interact with the girls it usually ends with them getting a poor impression of him.

In short, male friends never get any girls because the narrative forces them to be introverted. Their introversion prevents them from spending time with girls and from developing a positive, romantic relationship... just like you.
