What if upgrading your weapons did more than just straight damage up and instead gave you new or better moves (for example maybe you get a 3 hit combo or a followup for a normal R2, etc.). Also, what if you could get gems that increased different aspects of your weapon i.e. gems that make your attacks faster, have better range, etc? Maybe this would have to be weapon specific since it would make some weapons way stronger than they already are.

I feel like this would going through the game and upgrading your weapon would actually feel like progression rather than just more damage.

Not having to back off for stamina regen as often is a pretty big advantage imo, I can sometimes tell when someone has base stam and being able to swing or dash twice as many times as them is really convenient

Hmm, good point. Switching to Military Veteran gives me more SKL to work with, and shuffling 5 points from VIT into SKL/END still leaves me with 45, which with a HP rune is plenty.
I mean I COULD also go over 98 if I'm really feeling the loss of those 5 points in VIT, or I could switch my third rune for another HP rune or perhaps a QSB rune to avoid having to Bloodbullet before a shot or something. I dunno.

After about 50 times farming one Bone Ash Hunter in an F/R/C Isz root I finally yielded one cursed arcane gem and it's a 23.1% Radial that adds +14 flat fire damage and increases stamina costs by like 3%.

Altogether I'm pretty happy but is this good? Did I do good? Rare, or just uncommon?

Why even slaughter?

So I've just beaten the game for the first time and I'd like to make a more well-informed build for my second run.
Since there aren't that many stats, is it a good idea to just pump the stat that pertains to the weapon you want to use and throw a few points in VIT/END? Is a STR/BLT/DEX build viable, or are you better off sticking with just STR or DEX depending on the weapon?

Since meta is 98, it's better to have a STR SKL build depending on the weapon. Usually you want your main stat to be 50 while your secondary stat should be 25, for example, if you go for a transformed bloodletter build, you want to have 25 str and 50 blt, rest goes into Vit while 20 end is fine.

50 is the hard cap and usually a 50 in vit and a 50 in a major stat is a build but depending on the weapon 25>50 may not be as effective as 0>25 on the opposing stat ie: saw spear would get more ar at 25str/25skl than base/50skl
above scaling is only important for quality weapons as all bt weapons have a bt form or non bt form/shoot projectiles which use the bt scaling so there is no split and arc overrides the physical stat so it's not really a hybrid stat either

As far as I know a pure STR build will out damage any arc build unless youre revving the fuck out of it which will kill you in like 15 seconds.

Why? If you run CDs to get the farmable areas youll easily lvl to 98

First just the fact theyre called "Vilebloods", then they use a Katana as a main weapon.
Third is that their sole goal in the grand spectrum that is the hunters nightmare is to unscroupuslously go around and murder hunters, not matter if its a good or bad hunter.
The only reason for it is to literally steal the hunters bloody sperm and try to impregnate their queen with it. And the queen has been murdering hunters for hundreds of years in order to have a child. Its not clear whether shes trying to birth a great one or not, but if she is its basically the same goal that everyone else had

My experience so far is that the Bowblade is a much less useful weapon for ganksquads than I would've thought. You can dodge it pretty easily just by moving laterally from the archer, so if you keep track of where that guy is you can avoid the arrows without looking or even dodging much. The sound is also pretty distinct so you can dodge based on that too.

Don't use them at all.
There's no reason to go up to 98 when those last 11 points will just be wasted on your build. You can invade up to 98 at that level, all that adding more wasted levels will do is make you invader higher level players for no real benefit.
