So I read somewhere that one of the head honcho's from Obsidian said that they have no plans at the moment to work on a "Fallout New Vegas 2" of their own for the foreseeable future? Does this mean we are stuck with the written mediocrity that is Fallout 4 for the next like Ten or so years?

I wonder what settlement crafting is gonna look like in a future TES (assuming they even bother to make one now what with ESO kind of establishing what the provinces and cities will have to look like). I suppose it would be neat to add like Torches and shit everywhere for light, hire guards for defense or Mages to spawn Atronachs or those faggoty fucking goddamn Soul Gem Traps, and add things like Windmills and whatnot. I suppose a less "scavenged" look for building villages or hideouts. Maybe they'd even include a real "build your own faction" system so I could populate them with mages or bandits.

So do settlers need to be able to actually walk to their beds?

I made some stairs that lead to the top of the red rocket station and built a metal prefab there with some beds, but even though you can get there by climbing stairs and not jumping, I am concerned the pathfinding will prevent settlers from actually walking there. I selected one and told her to go to the prefab, but she just stood in place and wouldn't move.

There's no recommended level, I'd say if you can handle Corvega Plant you're good to go. I arrived there at level 11 with a few completed quests and 3-4 established settlements behind my back.

Forget Lexington and once you crossed the bridge [between Greygarden and Oberland Station] try to stick to the river until you arrive to the left bridge [above Diamond City], then head directly South.

This way you'll highly minimise the number of possible encounters, which is extremely nice as the surroundings [around the City] is often built like a maze, overcrowded with enemies and has little room to flee.

I was barely able to handle the interior of the Corvega Assembly Plant, mostly because my framerate drops to around 15 in there and Codsworth wouldn't stop getting in my way while trying to get to cover. I want to do a Brotherhood Of Steel Fanatic Melee/Heavy Weapons/Explosives Character who never ever ever ever unless absolutely necessary leaves his Power Armor playthrough.

Get Shadowboost + some texture compression mod from Nexus to increase performance, plus read a few guides to tweak your graphical settings to the most optimal. That'll take care of your FPS problem ~95% of the times.

As for Corvega, consider entering from the door at the top (you can safely snipe most guards from a distance) and getting the agile Dogmeat instead of the tanky Codsworth. There's also a few Protectrons inside that can help you.

Thanks for the tips. I did tweak the INI already and I use a compressed textures mod plus a couple other performance mods AND I play the game on Low in an 800x500 window. A big part of it is I don't meet the minimum system requirements, at least in terms of GPU. I'll try Shadowboost. Also I did enter from the door at the top and I couldn't snipe because Codsworth gave away my position and kept getting in my way. I would bring Dogmeat but I have cynophobia so being around him even ingame scares me to some extent.It's what I get for being mauled by dogs as a child.
